Runtime schema questions

Hi,
I am using OWB 9.0.2 Is it necessary to install Runtime repository in all my target schema where I want to transfer data??
Thanks
DJ

OWB 9.0.2 did not have the concept of 'runtime repository'. On the other hand, if you use 9.2, it is recommended to install a runtime repository for each target schema if you plan to have multiple target schemas from a single design repository.

  • Turning off runtime schema validation

    Is it possible to turn off runtime schema validation for web services in Weblogic 8.1SP4? We are using document-literal WSDLs with in-line schema and have to return custom fault messages for requests that violate the schema.

    Some more explanation (in the hope that it will elicit some response :-)
    Here is a type defined in my WSDL
    <xsd:simpleType name="CustomerNumber">
    <xsd:restriction base="xsd:string">
    <xsd:length value="10"/>
    <xsd:pattern value="[125]\d{9}"/>
    </xsd:restriction>
    </xsd:simpleType>
    Customer number is a 10-digit number starting with 1, 2 or 5. I want to specify this in my schema mainly as documentation - not for runtime schema validation. If I get a request violating this, I don't want Weblogic to send back a generic 'schema violation' fault. I want to be able to say "Number is not 10 digit" or "Number does not start with 1, 2 or 5" as my custom fault message.
    Is this possible?
    cheers

  • Deploy in runtime schema..

    Hi All,
    I created one simple mapping one target table one source table. When I deploy it and run target table is created in OWB and also data inserted in runtime schema.
    What should i check to create table in my target table?
    Thanks,
    DJ Panchal

    The runtime schema and the target schema are the same thing, it's where your data will be loaded, your data warehouse/data mart. In the target schema you deploy (create) the data objects (dimensions, cubes, target tables, materialized views etc.) and the procedures that load the data (mappings).
    What often creates confusion is the distinction between the runtime schema (target schema) and the runtime repository. The runtime repository does not contain the user data - it contains only runtime metadata (things like data about when a particular object was deployed, what was the deployment outcome, when a particular mapping or process flow was run and how many rows were inserted/updated... possible error messages etc.). This is used by the deployment manager and the runtime audit browser when the user wants to check the status of the runtime schema (the target schema).

  • How to transfer just RUNTIME SCHEMAS

    Hi
    my OWB is 9.0.4.10.3
    How to transfer just RUNTIME SCHEMAS with all valid packages (deployed mappings) because customer does not want to install DESIGN REPOSITORY
    Thanks
    Grigoriy

    Hi,
    I'm facing the same kind of need : installing on a test server all the OWB 9.2.0.4 mappings using saved PLS files containing the correct DDL able to connect to a freshly created runtime repository (CREATE OR REPLACE PACKAGE...).
    The installation itself is fine, all created packages on the test server are valid !
    But at the execution, the connection to the runtime repository seems to fail :
    ORA-20213: Unable to create standalone job record - there may be no task defined for this map.
    Oracle itself is suggesting to use the deployment manager, but that is what we don't want for the moment !
    I've just read the mentioned document related to the OMB solution, but it doesn't fit the company standards !

  • Runtime Licensing Question

    I apologize if this is not the right forum to ask this kind of question. I have searched the forum about licensing but the only hit I got was related EDW.
    For a government agency, we are thinking about using OWB to design our mappings on a 9i development instance and deploying the runtime environment (along with the pl/sql packages generated for these mappings) on multiple schemas on different databases (currently 8.1.7) on different servers.
    We would like to know what licenses are needed to allow this model? Is having a 9iDS license good enough, or do we need to buy OWB license separately? What about the runtime scenario?
    best regards,

    Thanks a bunch Shauna. Since we already have iDS and enterprise licenses, it sounds like we can deploy these runtimes without any additional cost.
    I have also placed calls to other people in our organization to talk with our account manager(s) to avoid any surprises down the road.
    Thanks again for your time.
    PS: I think it is great that you folks are constantly monitoring these forums. That's a great service to us. Appreciated!

  • SSO SDK schema question

    Hello,
    I have question regarding Oracle Single sign-on and partner application. I have a Blackboard course management system as Oracle partner application using SSO. I have a "BBSSO" schema for Blackboard single sign-on. My problem is the "BBSSO" sessions are slowly growing, and eventually I have to restart Blackboard. I don't why "BBSSO" session grows?

    This looks like what I need, thanks!
    I'm having an issue getting webpass to work with Oracle Application Server. I'm just trying to set up a dev server, with all components on it. I have a 10.1.4 Identity Management install working, and installed the Identity server successfully. I used Oracle_Access_Manager10_1_4_0_1_sparc-s2_OHS2_WebPass (only OHS I could find for sparc) and it installs fine. Then I tried to follow the directions to update the httpd.conf file manually since it doesn't work with automatic update. If I dcmctl updateconfig -ct ohs, I receive an error:
    ADMN-100015
    An exception occurred in the "apache" plugin provided by the "OHS" component while validating configuration files for that component.
    Resolution:
    The resolution information provided by the "OHS" component may be helpful.
    In addition, here are some common causes of problems:
    incorrect permissions on files
    configuration files are missing or invalid
    syntax error in configuration files
    Exception thrown by plugin "apache":
    oracle.ias.sysmgmt.repository.plugin.advanced.apache.parser.ParserIOException
    /opt/netpoint/webcomponent/identity/oblix/.apacheconfig.ohsPluginTmp (Permission denied)
    I tried setting open permissions to world, but didn't make a difference.
    Anyone have any ideas?
    Thanks!

  • Document Style/Schema questions

    We are using Weblogic 8.1 sp1 and eclipse
    I have some general questions about Document style web services
    If I create a simple web service like
    public String getSomething(String xmlRequest)
              throws RemoteException, SomethingException
    then I can use servicegen, style=documentwrapped and everything works fine.
    The strings are actually XML documents. If I want to let my clients know about
    the schema for these documents would you suggest modifying the wsdl or publishing
    it elsewhere?
    Assuming I decide to put the schema in the wsdl how would I do that? (I am not
    using workshop)
    How does Weblogic know to convert the SOAP body into a String object? Should my
    interface be changed to use org.w3c.org.Document objects insead of Strings?
    Switching to the Client and consuming a document web services
    If I use clientgen on a wsdl that is document/literal style and has a full schema,
    I get a bunch of java classes representing the Document. The port object returns
    one of these objects (getSomethingResponse). Is there a way to have the port object
    return a an org.w3c.org.Document object?
    thanks for your help,
    Brit

    Hi Brit,
    If your business logic works fine just using strings then there would
    seem to be a little value in increaing the complexity of the message
    exchange pattern. If your client needs to know more about message where
    sharing the schema is desirable, then it is suggested as best practice
    to import the schema into the WSDL. The WS-I BP [1] clarifies use of
    the import mechanisms to keep them consistent and confined to their
    respective domains.
    For a org.w3c.org.Document, Manoj has an example here [1].
    The WSDL defines when to convert the SOAP to strings, using for example:
    xsd:element type="xsd:string"

  • Star schema question

    Hi,
    I have a question about the realization of the star schema. I have familiarized me with the basic concepts of dimensions and fact tables. But what I don’t get is how I “combine” the dimensions with the fact table. I know that the fact table includes the dimension-IDs and measures. But do I use the joiner-operator in the OWB to join the dimension-ID (IDs of the dims are the criteria for the joiner condition) to create the fact table?
    So my understanding is when I have for example 3 dimensions (product dimension, sales dimension, time dimension) and one fact table.
    The realization looks like this:
    product dim ->
    sales dim -> joiner operator = fact table with the IDs of the dims and measure
    time dim ->
    Please correct me if I am wrong.
    If there is something that I can read to this subject of matter it would be very nice if someone could post it.
    Thx

    Hi,
    first you load the dimensions. Every entry has an id (surrogate key) and some business key (coming from the data source).
    When you load the fact, you use the business key from the data source to join (using a joiner or lookup operator) the dimension and get the id (surrogate key) from it. You only load the id and the measures into the fact table.
    Make sure to handle the case that the business key is null or no entry in the dimension can be found.
    If you query the fact table you must always join the dimensions.
    Regards,
    Carsten.

  • AutoVue for Agile PQM - Java Runtime Environment Question

    Greetings,
    An end user is attempting to view/open attachments within Agile Product Quality Management (PQM); we use Agile PQM 9.3.1.
    When clicking on an attachment file, a pop-up screen opens with a javascript alert, prompting the user with, "Please Install Java Runtime Environment." After clicking "OK", user is redirected to java download website. User downloads and installs the update.
    After rebooting the machine, we attempt to access the attachment file again within PQM and receive the same error message, "Please Install Java..."
    After installing the first java update, the user is now on the following java version:
    Java Plug-in 10.55.2.14
    Using JRE version 1.7.0_55-b14 Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM
    Do we need to install the second update to be able to view attachments within Agile PQM via AutoVue?
    I can't test the java updates myself because there are some legacy Oracle apps that I won't be able to support if I update my java.
    Thanks in advance,
    William

    You might want to post the question to the Agile forum
    The popup you see seems to be tied to Agile code itself and not AutoVue
    AutoVue will work on Java 7u55
    But you are running Agile, so you will need to make sure the rest of the apps are confirmed with 7u55
    You also need to review Java update guidelines, by default you will be always prompted to install the latest java update

  • Crystal XI Runtime Installer Question

    Post Author: kgmiller
    CA Forum: .NET
    Question:
    Has anyone just created a VS2005 Setup Project that only includes the Crystal XI R2 2005 Merge Module and nothing else and had it install the Crystal Runtime?  Are there any issues I am not aware of with this approach?  Any information, experiences, suggestions would be appreciated.
    Background:
    I have a situation where I will need to install the Crystal XI R2 runtime on many PCs that will be accessing a centrally managed Windows application.  The application software and Crystal Report files are only installed on the server and the PCs access them via a shortcut to the server.  The runtime needs to be on the PCs as well as the server.  I would like to avoid using the Windows Installer .msi file that comes with the product, for installing the runtime on the PCs, as it requires that the CD Key be entered during the install.  I would rather use the Merge Module where I can embed the CD Key creating a VS2005 Setup Project process.

    please also see this link as we have documentation how the different deployment techniques actually work:

  • Runtime.availableProcessors() question...

    So, i have a class that will take in Runnable objects, and send them to be processed when a processor opens.
    So far, i have been dealing with a single-processor model. However, now i want to upgrade my code to be able
    to handle multiple processors. These jobs will not step on each others toes, so they can run concurrently with
    no problems. My question is: when i run the Runtime.availableProcessors() method, what does that number it
    returns mean to me? Is it the number of processors available on the System in general, or the number of
    processors available at the time of the call, to accept jobs? So, if i have 5 processes in the queue, and i have a 2
    processor machine, i farm out the first 2 processes, and that method will return 0 until one of these processes
    finishes? something tells me its not that easy.
    any info given is very much appreciated. thanks

    But then it goes on:
    This value may change during a particular invocation of the virtual machine. How could that be? Hot slotting more processors?Could be. I regularly work on machines (IBM System i) where it's possible to reassign processors from one system to another. And these machines run Java. I would expect the method to always return 2 on the Windows box I'm typing this on, but I would expect it could return different numbers at different times on the i's. If I cared about the question I might be interested in what it returns when a non-integral number of processors is assigned to the machine, but anyway I don't have a system where I can mess about with those assignments.

  • Exception - Cannot Build Schema (Question)

    Friends,
    I have a quick question which is driving me crazy. New to SOA, please help.
    I defined a variable of type "element" by refering it to an pre-existing xsd. I know the xsd is valid. When I try to use the variable in an assign activiity it does not show the child element and gives error "Exception - Cannot build Schema". While creating variable I refer to element "FetchCustomerInfoResponse".
    Following is the xsd for your reference :-
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="windows-1252" ?>
    <xsd:schema xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"
    xmlns="http://www.example.org"

    Hi,
    using the schema you gave, i was able to create a variable inside the BPEL by referring to the FetchCustomerInfoResponse element, and also i was able to do the copy operation inside the assign activity.
    Please try the same again, may be create the variable again...it should work...

  • Is there any way to disable runtime schema validation

    At runtime Kodo appears to validate that all of the tables and columns

    kodo.jdbc.SchemaFactory: dynamic
    Note that when using the dynamic schema factory Kodo can't detect foreign

    I have a question regarding the licensing scheme.
