  • Reports 9i Jdbc Query dialog box

    Hi,
    Is it possible to base a report on a pl/sql stored procedure in Reports builder 9i environment using with jdbcpds.If possiblePlease provide step by step details and how we can call that particular procedure in JDBC query dailog box.
    Please provide detailed example program asap.
    Thanks&Regards,
    Raghu

    Hi Raghu
    Indeed yes. You can base your report on PL/SQL stored procedure. For this to work with JDBC query, your stored procedure must return records.
    Refer Reports help on OTN for more information.

  • How to customize the Save as dialog Box for saving Web Query???

    Hello,
       we are usnging SAP NW Portal and BI 7.0 (SP14).
       We have published BI web queries in the Portal and it works just fine, now when the User select the Button "Save As" in the Context Menu of any web query, this will open a new Dialog Box name "Save As Dialog Box", so from this dialog box the user can select where to save the query, he/she have 3 options* to save qureies: My Favorites, Bex Portfolio and MyPortfolio, this also works fine.
      My Quetsion is: How can i customize the View of this "Save As" dialog box, so at the end the User can only select 2 Options:  My Favorites + MyPortfolio. So how to hide the Tab:  Bex Portfolio in the Dialog Box.
    Points for any good answer.
    Many Thanks and Regards,
    Nazih

    In what you have posted, there is no reason it shouldn't work the same way in Acrobat 9. I would recommend that you submit your complete application to developer support.

  • Oracle Forms to open the Query Where dialog box

  • JDBC query against Sybase through jConnect5.5 in Oracle 9i Reports Builder

    Hi There,
    I am trying to connect to Sybase using JDBC query using jConnect55 driver.
    I am not able to do so. I get an error:
    ERR 62002: Failed to connect to the datasource JZ0D5 JZ0D5: Error loading protocol com.sybase.jdbc2//255.255.255.255//255.255.255.255
    Driver entry in my jdbcpds.conf file is
    <driver name ="jConnect55"
    subProtocol ="sybase"
    connectString ="mainProtocol:subProtocol://databaseName"
    class = "com.sybase.jdbc2.jdbc.SybDriver"
    connection = "oracle.reports.plugin.datasource.jdbcpds.JDBCConnectionHandling" loginTimeout = "0">
    <property name="DatabaseName" value="tempdb"/>
    </driver>
    The entry I make in jdbc query connection dialog box is as under:
    User Name:test
    password:secret
    Databse: 255.255.255.255:9999/tempdb
    Driver Type: jConnect55
    Can you point me where I am wrong?
    Thanks in advance
    Ketan Patel

    Hi Sachin,
    I too, got through the issue. Sorry am bit late in updating you. But still I would say it is not on consistent(my feedback as per I grabbed from the behavior. Say, I accepted the query in a particular order of WHERE clause, then If I change the order it will throw an error message saying "Incorrect syntax".)
    Anyway working fine. Thanks for your immediate response with useful hints.
    Rgds
    Anand
    Hi Anand,
    Yes, JDBCPDS accepts all Select queries which follows SQL Specification.
    It would be a valid query as per the database used.
    Please try again, Bind parameters can be placed in any or all of the conditions of SQL Query in JDBCPDS.
    I am able to use them in both the cases you told.
    With Regards

  • Opening a File Dialog Box

    Hi,
    could somebody help me with how to open a file dialog box.
    I have 1 class which has a window with the relevant widgets on it, I want to be able to click a button on the form and pop up a file chooser form then select a file or type in a new filename and then use the selected filename path in the original form to write data out to the chosen file.
    i understand that i need to use JFileChooser and it will need to be in a new class (like a dialog box would be).
    So basically what i have is 2 classes (the main app and a class called FileOpen.class) so how would i display the fileopen class with the JFileChooser component in it and return what ever is chosen into a string.
    e.g.
    String fileName = <what would go here?>
    kind regards

    thats the example filechooser i have working
    yet when i try and implement it in my program i just get countless exception errors, im not sure if its because my program extends Jframe and not JPanel
    here is my code:-

    import javax.swing.*;
    import javax.swing.border.*;

    How can I get the "Open" and "Save As" dialog boxes to open at larger than their default size?  I would like them to open at the size they were previously resized like they used to in previous operating systems.  They currently open at a very small size and the first colum is only a few letters wide necessitating a resize practically every time one wants to use it.  Any help would be appreciated.

    Let's try this again.  I have been asking the following question of Microsoft and every time I do, I have only been told to try another forum.
    I have several intranet sites that my users use for various data entry and querying purposes.  I installed Internet Explorer 10 onto my 2008 R2 Terminal Server over this past weekend (10/18/2014) which also installed the Security Update KB2909210
    and rebooted the server.  On Monday morning (10/20/2014), when my terminal users logged into the sites, the sites began malfunctioning.  All the dropdown arrows turned into question marks.  Some fields which normally have a small "x"
    on the right-hand side used to erase the data entered in the text field were also displaying as question marks.  The objects still functioned but it was disconcerting to my users.  The update also slowed down these same intranet sites to where it
    began interfering with productivity.  I activated Compatibility View for all intranet sites, but it did not resolve the problem.
    I also found that when my terminal users tried to print a pdf document from the intranet sites, the print dialog box was jumbled and no fields were pre-populated with data like they always are when printing.  I updated to the latest Adobe Reader, but
    the print dialog box remained jumbled.
    All of my users with stand-alone PCs have IE 10 installed and the intranet sites work fine.  The sites display properly and process quickly, and the print dialog box is not jumbled.  It is only my terminal users who log in from a thin client
    to their profiles on the server and use the IE version installed on the server who have the problem with IE10.  The KB2909210 Update is not installed on, and does not come up as, an update for any of my stand-alone Windows 7 PCs.
    I uninstalled IE 10 from my server, but since this was one of my production servers, I could not restart it until after the plant was shut down for the evening forcing my users to suffer with the slowness for the day.  This morning (10/21/2014) the
    intranet sites are working fine through IE 9.  I also had to revert back to Adobe Reader v9.5 as the v11 (and v10) print dialog box does not display properly in IE 9.
    I do not want to stay on IE 9 on my server as IE9 gets more un-secure by the day and we've found IE 11, on any of our machines, to be too buggy.
    How can I install IE 10 with its security updates and prevent it from breaking my intranet sites and print dialog box?  What is so different about Server 2008 R2 and Windows 7 that IE 10 causes this corruption of intranet sites and the print dialog
    box on the Server but not on the Win 7 machines?
    The bulletin here:
    https://technet.microsoft.com/library/security/ms14-011
    is useless for determining why it breaks my intranet sites. Nor does it explain why the update destroys the print dialog box.

    Hi,
    In my opinion, it's hard to say your problem caused by KB2909210. Have you tried to uninstall this update for test if your intrant site's problem resolved?
    If your problem truthfuly caused by this updates, you can choose to hid the update as a workaround method.

  • PS CS5 messes up menu bar; dialog boxes distort during drag; etc

    I'm having weird problems with Photoshop CS5.  I'd love help, or even tips for how to frame the question when searching for help.
    Here are the symptoms:
    - After starting PS, if I open any dialog box and then close it, after closing the PS menu bar is corrupted -- it looks like a single row of pixels is missing through the File, Edit, Image, etc words, and at the right end of the menu bar, the three control icons are overlain with Windows control icons.  Both these problems can be seen in the screen capture image below.
    - When a dialog box is open, if I drag it around, it gets clipped as repainting tries to keep up with the mouse.  It's always rectangular, but edges flicker off to varying depths as it repaints to move.  When the mouse stops, the repaint works and it looks fine.  While moving, the faster the movement, the worse the effect.
    - When using tools such as Lasso select, the movement feedback (the selection gray line) lags a few millimeters or more, depending on speed.
    To me it looks like an application + video driver problem, but all s/w is up to date.  Messing with OpenGL setting (Edit->Preferences) doesn't affect things; it acts the same with OpenGL on or off, basic, normal, or advanced.  My video card is displayed correctly in the Edit->Preference: Performance box.
    The first problem (menu bar corruption) is obviously least interfering and I believe has been with me longest.  The latter two problems make PS somewhat difficult to use, and I believe showed up in the last few months (since the last time I used PS intensively, about 8 months ago).  I can't recall for sure, but I think I installed updates to both PS and ATI drivers in the last 8 months (ie., so both could be suspects).
    Any ideas what is wrong, or what to search for?  What would be a good search query for this sort of problem set?
    Does this seem to be an Adobe problem, or ATI, or who?
    Here's my set-up:
    - Dell Inspiron 580 with 6 GB RAM
    - ATI Radeon HD 5450
    - Windows 7 64-bit
    - PS CS5 standard edition
    Thanks for help and/or ideas!

    I don't know about pre-packaged themes, but what I do is along these lines:
    Minimize Chrome on the Desktop
    If you have a sharp monitor, good eyes, and don't like that Microsoft has made all the useless chrome and border space around everything larger in the later versions of Windows, you'll likely want to minimize it to make more room to do real work...
    ·    Right-click on Desktop - Personalize, ensure the Windows 7 Aero theme is selected
    ·    Choose Window Color – Advanced appearance settings...
    ·    Active Title Bar item to size 17.
    ·    Menu item to Size 15, font Segoe UI size 8.
    ·    Border Padding item to size 0.
    ·    Scroll Bar item to size 16.
    ·    Caption Buttons item to size 16.
    ·    Icon Spacing (Horizontal) item to size 27.
    ·    Icon Spacing (Vertical) item to size 41.
    You can experiment with these settings to find a balance you like.
    Hope this helps!

  • Displaying Where Dialog Box in Forms 10g at runtime

    hi all,
    In Forms 6i, I was able to display the Where Dialog box to define complex search conditions by entering <b>:variable_name</b> in a field.
    How can I do the same in Oracle 10g Forms at runtime?
    thanks in advance.

    Have you had a look at metalink note 370302.1?
    Symptoms Query/Where dialog does not come up when execute query on block entering '&' or ':' in a field.
    ChangesUpgrade to Forms 10.1.2.0.2 Cause In order to be more secure out of the box, a new parameter was introduced
    FORMS_RESTRICT_ENTER_QUERY to TRUE in default.env and this results in the query/where dialog not appearing.
    SolutionTo implement the solution, please execute the following steps:
    1. Edit $ORACLE_HOME/forms/server/default.env
    2. Comment the line as :
    # FORMS_RESTRICT_ENTER_QUERY=TRUE
    or
    set:
    FORMS_RESTRICT_ENTER_QUERY=FALSE

  • No dialog box appears

    I am using DW8 with Coldfusion trying to add a new recordset
    in the bindings tab. After selecting the + sign in bindings I am
    confronted with a dropdown list with the first option being
    "recordset(query)". When I select that option NO dialog box
    appears. When I first installed DW8 it worked, but not anymore. Has
    anyone dealt with this issue?
    (WindowsXP SP2)

    Hello Pat,
         I apologize for the delay in responding, but I did not recieve an email notification of your reply.
         I use IE8 on Windows Vista Home Premium.
         Since my last post, I have installed Flash using the work around, and have not had the problem of being prompted to download/install a version which I already have.
         It would be nice to know, though, why the download won't work from the normal download page.
         Sincerely,

  • IPhoto Library in open dialog boxes

    Does the Mac community agree with me that this needs to be better implemented in Mac OS X for new Mac users?
    As the owner of a Mac consulting company in Los Angeles, we have switched about 30 people from PC to Mac this year.
    However, we have encountered a big problem that almost every "newbie Mac user" has when they first switch to the Mac. This is the #1 problem that we encounter with most "newbie" Mac users:
    There is no way to access the iPhoto library from within a standard open dialog box!
    So, week after week, we're witnessing users who have used webmail for years, and aren't quite ready to make the leap to Apple Mail yet. So when they go to attach photos to an outgoing email in their webmail program (Hotmail, Gmail, Yahoo), they'll get an "open" dialog box but absolutely no way of browsing their iPhoto Library in an easy-to-use manner!
    Oh sure, they'll try to click around in their "Pictures" folder inside the "iPhoto Library" folder, but as you know, that folder makes no organizational sense to mere mortals, and is nowhere NEAR the Mac experience that it should be! Even with the improvements in iPhoto 6, that "iPhoto Library" folder still makes no sense.
    So eventually, we tell them that they have to (a) drag their photos from iPhoto onto their desktop or export them if they want them to be a smaller size, (b) attach the files on their desktop from within their open dialog box, and (c) trash the photos from their desktop afterwards.
    But this is too confusing for new Mac users, particularly when it's already much better integrated on Windows, the platform they just switched from!
    New users should be able to **VISUALLY BROWSE** their iPhoto Library right from within any open dialog box, just like you can currently browse your iPhoto Library when you click on the "Media" button inside Pages or Keynote or iWeb or Comic Life.
    Some companies like Snapfish.com have actually addressed this limitation on Apple's behalf, by creating plug-ins for Safari that actually let you browse your iphoto library right from your open dialog box! This is how it SHOULD BE! It's simple as pie, and Snapfish.com should be commended for making up for this serious lack of intuitiveness on Apple's part.
    But Apple really needs to step up to the plate and do this for its users, instead of depending on a few companies here & there to make up for this limitation.
    Of course, we try to get as many new users as possible to use Apple's Mail program for complete integration with their system, but it's just not feasible right off the bat in all cases. For example, if they're a Yahoo webmail user or a HotMail user, it would cost them at least $24.95/year just to get POP access to their email. And regardless of what webmail system they use, not everybody is going to want to switch right away to a dedicated email client.
    Apple really needs to help new users have a great time when switching to the Mac, instead of confusing them, by really thinking these things through and really WATCHING new users in the field struggling with their Macs for the first time. Then, Apple can see that there's little things like this that can make all the difference for someone new to the Mac.
    Thank you,
    Scott

    I've not used any of these but you can certainly test them so see if they are as as advertised.
    If a user needs a file via the Finder for a web based email he can Command-click on a thumbnail and select the Show File Contextual menu item. The user will be taken to that folder in the Finder and the file will already be selected. However these will be the full sized files and may be larger than the user wants to send.
    The problem with encouraging users to visually browse and access files in the library folder via the Finder or some browser is that they may be inclined to rename, move or edit them via the Finder or browser an that is committing the cardinal sin of iPhoto: Don't tamper with files in the iPhoto Library folder from the Finder. So for a novice it's safer to have them export the file to the desktop via the File->Export->File Export menu route, resizing as necessary in the process.
