Unable to use Safari as it is blocked by a (fraudulent) message that my computer has an error due to suspicious activity.
How can I unblock Safari?

Have just found out that my iPhone has been blocked as a result of a fraudulant claim. I've had it a year and I bought the phone from online retailer as new phone on Vodafone. it turns out that the phone had been registered previously on Three whilst still sealed. It must have been returned to retailer who then unlocked it and sold it to me on Vodafone. The person who returned it has now put in a claim and my EMEI has been blacklisted - no-one wants ownership of the issue and I'm left with 11 months of a contract to go @ £35 a month with a phone that won't work. Surely something can be done to 1. Resolve the problem/unblock the EMEI and 2. Stop people returning phones ( or selling on eBay ) and then claiming lost or stolen ?
1. Which ever wireless provider blacklisted the EMEI has to unlist it -
go see them with all your receipts.
2. Nice in theory, no way to put into practice. Already illegal in most
jurisdictions as fraud and that does not seem to deter people. -
My safari is blocked. When I press a window comes up sasking Are you sure you want to submit this form again? and it will not allow me to cancel or submit
These are your options:
1. Restore the iPhoto library from the most recent backup that predates the issue.
Advantages: Always works, if library damage is causing the problem and the backup is intact.
Disadvantages: Impossible if you don't have a backup. All changes made since the backup are lost.
2. Repair or rebuild the library. Be sure to back it up first.
Advantages: May solve the problem with no loss of data.
Disadvantages: May fail. May take a long time if the library is large.
3. Scavenge the library with a third-party application called "iPhoto Library Manager," which you can find in a web search. From the application's menu bar (not the iPhoto menu bar), select Library ▹ Rebuild.
Advantages: All images should be preserved.
Disadvantages: All books, calendars, and slideshows will be lost. -
MAcBook Pro, 2.4 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4GB 1067Mhz DDR3, Software Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5 (11G63).
Problem: i tried to open Safari about a couple of hours ago and I was presented with this error message block with an address of http://www.virushealthcheck.com. The message is; Windows detected security error, due to suspicious activity found on your computer. Contact Windows Certified Live Tech ( 1.866.606.2003). If I clk the OK button , there are multiple layered windows that will appear after that. Can't get out of it , except to quit Safari. earlier today before this happened I was on Facebook, Instagram, responding email cutting and paste transactions and saving it to Microsoft word. then I turned off my lap top for several hours. When I turned it back on awhile ago, I discovered this problem. on top of that aI can't even clear the history everything is gray out except for the Earlier today, and the day and date of the month. I tried several times to quit Safari, turn off and turn back on my lap top to no avail. My question is; How do I go by to in getting this error message when I click on Safari? You may have installed a variant of the "VSearch" ad-injection malware. Follow Apple Support's instructions to remove it.
If you have trouble following those instructions, see below.
Malware is always changing to get around the defenses against it. This procedure works as of now, as far as I know. It may not work in the future. Anyone finding this comment a few days or more after it was posted should look for a more recent discussion, or start a new one.
The VSearch malware tries to hide itself by varying the names of the files it installs. To remove it, you must first identify the naming pattern.
Triple-click the line below on this page to select it, then copy the text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C:
/Library/LaunchDaemons
In the Finder, select
Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.
A folder named "LaunchDaemons" may open. Look inside it for two files with names of the form
com.something.daemon.plist
and
com.something.helper.plist
Here something is a variable string of characters, which can be different in each case. So far it has always been a string of letters without punctuation, such as "cloud," "dot," "highway," "submarine," or "trusteddownloads." Sometimes it's a meaningless string such as "e8dec5ae7fc75c28" rather than a word. Sometimes the string is "apple," and then you must be especially careful not to delete the wrong files, because many built-in OS X files have similar names.
If you find these files, leave the LaunchDaemons folder open, and open the following folder in the same way:
/Library/LaunchAgents
In this folder, there may be a file named
com.something.agent.plist
where the string something is the same as before.
If you feel confident that you've identified the above files, back up all data, then drag just those three files—nothing else—to the Trash. You may be prompted for your administrator login password. Close the Finder windows and restart the computer.
Don't delete the "LaunchAgents" or "LaunchDaemons" folder or anything else inside either one.
The malware is now permanently inactivated, as long as you never reinstall it. You can stop here if you like, or you can remove two remaining components for the sake of completeness.
Open this folder:
/Library/Application Support
If it has a subfolder named just
something
where something is the same string you saw before, drag that subfolder to the Trash and close the window.
Don't delete the "Application Support" folder or anything else inside it.

Press Command+Option+Esc
Highlight Safari and choose Force Quit. Close the box.
Hold down the Shift key and relaunch Safari. That tells it not to reload any pages from the last session. -
I installed OS X Lion v10.7.3 because of the following claim.
The OS X Lion v10.7.3 Update includes Safari 5.1.3 and fixes that:
Resolve a Wi-Fi connection issue when waking from sleep
It continues to be a real pain having to reconnect to the network each time I wake my MacBook Air from sleep.
Does anyone have a suggestion for the resolution to this problem?It seems the update fixed old problems for some and caused new problems for others. Sorry to hear you're in the latter group.
Here are some things to try.
1. Go to System Preferences > Network, and click the gear icon under the network interfaces like so:
Whatever service order you have set, drag Wi-Fi either to the top (assuming it's not already there) or someplace else in the list. Click OK and then Apply. Sleep the system then wake it again to observe any changes.
2. Click Wi-Fi in the above then click Advanced. Select all the networks your computer has ever joined and delete them with the "-" button. OK then Apply again. Select your network under the AirPort icon to re-join it. Sleep and wake again to see if that did anything.
3. Try creating a new, temporary user account. Log in under that account to see if its behavior is any different.
You may have done all of these already but perhaps there is something you have not thought of. If nothing helps we may just have to wait a bit longer for Apple to release a fix. -
I'm still getting all these annoying popups windows, although I followed every solution suggested(safari extensions,block the pop ups) it's really disturbing please help
There is no need to download anything to solve this problem.
You may have installed one or more of the common types of ad-injection malware. Follow the instructions on this Apple Support page to remove it. It's been reported that some variants of the "VSearch" malware block access to the page. If that happens, start in safe mode by holding down the shift key at the startup chime, then try again.
Back up all data before making any changes.
One of the steps in the article is to remove malicious Safari extensions. Do the equivalent in the Chrome and Firefox browsers, if you use either of those. If Safari crashes on launch, skip that step and come back to it after you've done everything else.
If you don't find any of the files or extensions listed, or if removing them doesn't stop the ad injection, ask for further instructions.
Make sure you don't repeat the mistake that led you to install the malware. It may have come from an Internet cesspit such as "Softonic" or "CNET Download." Never visit either of those sites again. You might also have downloaded it from an ad in a page on some other site. The ad would probably have included a large green button labeled "Download" or "Download Now" in white letters. The button is designed to confuse people who intend to download something else on the same page. If you ever download a file that isn't obviously what you expected, delete it immediately.

Some websites claim that Javascript is not activated, but Firefox says it is.
Certain websites claim that I do not have Javascript activated, but it is activated according to Firefox settings (Tools > Options > Content). One example is the German site www. autoscout24.de; when I go there I get the message "Bitte aktivieren Sie JavaScript in Ihrem Browser, um alle Funktionalitäten unserer Webseite nutzen zu können" in red, with tips on how to activate Javascript. Another site is my e-mail service, in which I cannot use certain features which require Javascript. Their help service recommends I clear the cache (did that, didn't help) and delete all cookies (don't want to do that as it would cause annoyance on some websites, so I just deleted cookies pertaining to e-mail service; didn't help either). I also tried starting Firefox in 'safe mode', which didn't help either.
Do you use any security add-ons that could selectively block scripts based on the URL? NoScript is the leading example of such an add-on, but there might be others. If you use a proxy server in Firefox but not your other browsers, that also could filter your results.
Generally speaking, if you start up in Safe Mode, you can bypass most add-ons, so if that didn't work, you could try a follow-up step of testing with a new profile.
First, I recommend backing up your Firefox settings in case something goes wrong. See [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Backing+up+your+information Backing up your information]. (You can copy your entire Firefox profile folder somewhere outside of the Mozilla folder.)
Next, close all Firefox windows and start up to the Firefox Profile Manager as described in: [http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Managing+profiles Managing profiles].
Create a new blank profile and check those sites. Any change?
To switch back to your normal profile, close all Firefox windows, start up the Profile Manager, and choose that profile. -
Safari 4 blocking internet access
When I try to access an URL that's wrong or doesn't exist Safari will block the internet access for my whole computer, Spotify, all other browsers, Mail etc.. stops getting access to the internet. Only solution is to restart Safari, and the internet access will pick up again immediately. Does this happen to anyone else out there as well?

I'm afraid I'm a dummy, and don't know how to do this. I'm sure as April 8 approaches, a lot of people with important DOS or XP apps will be wanting to insulate their XP VM from potential hacking while still running programs locally.

Safari keeps blocking when i watch streaming videos
Safari keeps blocking when i watch streaming videos. After 30 min it blocks the video and then all Safari is blocked with the colourful wheel turning for 2-3 minutes. What can I do? I updated flash to the latest version. It drives me nuts. I tried several links, it's not the link that is not working. HELP pls.
The next time you have the problem, note the exact time: hour, minute, second.
If you have more than one user account, these instructions must be carried out as an administrator.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar.
Scroll back in the log to the time you noted above. Select any messages timestamped from then until the end of the episode. Copy them to the Clipboard (command-C). Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).
When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.

BehiAre you trying to access a blacklisted site? You can uncheck "Warn when visiting a fraudulent website" in Safari>Preferences>Security. I would not recommend that for obvious reasons.

The company I work for has given me an iPhone, but I haven't been able to download any apps. I've created an apple ID account, it claimed that it had been verified, but everytime I go to download something, it verifies again and claims there's an error. I've tried this now with 3 different emails, and the message reads: go to the iTunes support page. I've emailed Apple, and they were extremely unhelpful. I was given the most vague responses by Bidyut from the iTunes Store Customer service team. I would just like to be able to use this phone since I'm paying for it.
It might be helpful if you told us exactly what the error was... If you don't give us specifics, the best you're going to get is vague responses.

JTextArea does not refresh in real-time
