Sales BOM: Control quantity modifcation for Components

Hi Experts,
We are using BOM sales type for our promo packages. However, the client wants to control modification of the quantity of the components other than that of the Parent quantity.
Is there a workaround for this requirement?
Many thanks,
Don

Hi Don........
It can be happend by SP Transaction notification.
Else you have to keep separate user for such kind of promo sales so when user will log into SAP he will not be permitted to change Qty as the Qty field will be inactive.......

  • Sales BOM - Delivery Quantity check during post goods issue

I am working on a problem in my company.  We are running ECC6.0 ehp 4.  We are using standard ERLA functionality with sales bom (5) for product kits.  Delivery manager has requested that we investigate a system check during delivery post goods issue.  THe problem is that when shipper processes delivery, if they have to backorder they update pick and delivery quanity on the TAE item.  They should also update TAQ delivery quantity, so that backorder amount is correct.  If they make data entry error, backorder quantity is incorrect.  The delivery manager has tried a number of attempts to re-train and correct mistakes.  He is now asking that SAP issue a hard error if TAQ and TAE delivery item quantities are not the same.
I have searched on SAP Notes, Forms, and Google and do not see solution.  I know that at delviery item category there is a minimum qty check for the item category.  I've not found a user exit or configuration point that checks quanities.  Does anyone know of out of the box solution?  Or where would I put in custom user exit?
    Test Case
    Create Standard Order
    Enter Material with Sales BOM
    ITEM A     Qty 10
    BOM explodes with Item categories
    ITEM A     TAQ parent
    ITEM B     TAE child
    Create Delivery
Delivery has item categories TAQ and TAE
TAE is pickable, TAQ no pick
    Process TAE
         Pick quantity of 5 items
Change delivery quantity to 5 items
Forget to change TAQ delivery quantity
         Pack 5 items
    Post Goods Issue the delivery.
Is there are requirement/routine than can be run at time of PGI that checks TAQ delivery quantity is the same as TAE delivery quantity.  If quanities are not the same, show hard error and message do not allow PGI to complete.
    Thank you
    Tony Romain

I tried setting that field in the sale order this morning.  By defaulting it to "C"; I was able to get warning message for TAE line.  I was able to post goods with TAE and TAQ, being different quantities.  I need the check to determine if TAE and TAQ delivery quantity are different.  Using this fields seems to be line specific.  Thanks for the suggestion.  I now know what that field does to the delivery.
    I rewarded points.
    Thanks,
    Tony

  • Sales BOM is not working for one Distribution Channel

    HI Gurus
In VA01, Line item, for material A Sales BOM is working ( Bom exploded ) for one distribution channel but not for other distribution channel.
Material A is defined already for other distribution channel ( for which sales bom).
Sales BOM ( CS01) is also define.
    Regards\Adnan

this is solved by myself. Component ( child ) material was not defined for that Distribution channel.

  • Sales BOM - Allow to delete individual components on Marketing Documents

At the moment, we are not allowed to delete the individual component on the Marketing Document.
I faced a scenario that some client need to substitute a higher value component if there is insufficient quantity of a cheaper value that can be delivered. Currently they have to ship out the higher value component and ship in the lower value item to increase the quantity on hand before cutting the invoice. This involves three steps which can be reduced to a single step if i first defined a Sales BOM with all possible alternatives and let the user decides which item to be shipped out and delete the lines which are not shipped out.
Of course, you also have to take into consideration during version upgrade, that it should not be looking at the BOM anymore to pump unnecessary lines into OINM.
    Thanks

  • Controlling Quantity Field for PR

    Hi Guys,
Here is the situation that i have:
Creation of PR > Creation of PO
After the situation above, i would like to lock the quantity field in the PR section after a PO has been created. Currently i can't change the values if its below the original quantity but I can change the value if its above the quantity.
What can i do to lock the quantity field so that i am not able to change it even though its above the original amount?
So far here are the changes that i have made.
In SPRO > Materials Management > Purchasing > Environment Data > Define Attribute of System Messages
    Changed messages:
Message Number - Description                                                                           - Message Category
    076                     - Materials of requisition & item & alr. ordered in full                    - E
648                     - Requisition quantity already ordered in full (see follow-on docs.) - E
    400                     - Materials/services for requisition & & already ordered with & &   - E
    Thanks in advance

    Hey,
Is there anyway that we can do it without using the release strategy? As in configure from the purchase requisition only?
After i keyed in OLME > Purchase requisition. I couldn't find the last part field selection key. i did a search and nothing came out.
    Thanks.

  • Issue of Components from Sales BOM where user warehouse is defaulted

In 2007A, where the warehouse is different at row level for the parent item, the component items do not default to the same as the parent, and no warning message is produced. SAP say this is system behaviour as the components are shown on the form and can be changed in the form. In 2005A an Assembly BOM was used which would generate a warning, but no new Assembly BOM's can be created in 2007A. The warning is now only generated if the warehouse is changed in the table area of the form settings window.
However, I believe they have not allowed for the use of the user defaults in this case.
The purpose of the user defaults is to take away from the user the possibility of transacting an incorrect warehouse by accident. In order to control stock properly this is essential from a business process and a "best practice" perspective.
The user is set to default to the warehouse they have access to, then the form settings are turned off for the warehouse so they cannot issue from other warehouses.
If this is the case (as it is for all of our customers who have many branches) then they cannot update the child items to issue from their own location, and have no visibility that there is a problem until stock taking time.
The purpose of a sales BOM is to allow for a sales process which requires assembly of several items at the point of sale, The most likely scenario in this instance then is that the child items will be in the same warehouse that the sale document is being recorded in, this should be the default position for the marketing document.
The only workaround appears to be that a Sales Bom is required for each item for each warehouse, thereby increasing the size of the Item Master.

THe issue is the same via the DI - add a sales BOM with a different warhouse to the BOM warehouse & the components are issued from the BOM warehouse, not the intended warehouse

  • Sales BOM partial delivery

    Hi All,
I have an issue with Sales BOM.
Letu2019s say for example, a BOM (ABC) has 3 components (AA, BB, & CC).
When the BOM ABC is entered in sales order for a quantity of 5, it explodes and ATP check is run.
Material      Confirmed quantity      Delivery Date          Delivery Group     Delv.Grp.Date
    ABC          5                       12/31/2008          1               02/15/2009
    AA          5                       12/31/2008          1               02/15/2009
    BB          5                       12/31/2008          1               02/15/2009
    CC          3                       12/31/2008          1               02/15/2009
    CC          2                       02/15/2009          1               02/15/2009
Now for the entire BOM, delivery date is taken as 02/15/2009. Though partial quantity of 3 complete BOMs are available to be delivered on 12/31/2008 it is not happening. I cannot delete the delivery group as it is a required field in the delivery incomplete log and I cannot change the delivery group for that particular component as we would like to delivery complete BOM.
What we are doing now is, ABC is entered for a quantity of 3 once and then again enter the same BOM for quantity 2. My client does not want to take the extra load of entering it again.
My requirement is, when the end user enters a quantity of 5, after ATP logic is run, sales order should automatically split the delivery group and it has to create 2 delivery groups. First delivery group should be created on 12/31/2008 for quantity of 3 complete BOMs and the second delivery group on 02/15/2009 for quantity of 2 complete BOMs.
Pricing is done at header level and inventory is maintained at item level.
    Points will be awarded.
Hope I am clear. Please guide me how to fix this.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Vamsi.

    Hi
you have to maintain the delivery group in item category of sales order as A ,
so that you can deliver on different schedule lines

  • Cost of Sales BOM

    Hi SD Gurus,
Need to know how to calculate the cost of the sales BOM that I have created. When I create a sales order for the sales BOM, it explode all the components in the sales BOM. All of them have condition type VPRS which state the cost of the component but the actual FGD sales BOM does not have VPRS condition type in them. The item category for the sales BOM is customised as ZTAI, Banded without pricing.
I tried looking at the header and there is a VPRS conditon but it is for the whole order. The order may or may not include other sales order item that is a Sales BOM.
Am i missing something here. Pls help and points will be awarded. Thanks

    Hi all SD Gurus,
Thank you very much for the fast response.
I think my SD config person did not check the "determine cost" in VOV7 for that item category. Will ask him to do so but am interested in the below suggestion also.
at parent level, in which case all the sub-items pricing components are collated (totaled) into the parent item.
    Dear Kookie,
Can you advise how to perform the above also from a cost perspective, i.e. adding all the VPRS found in the sub items and adding them to the main item

  • Can sales bom contain sales bom?

    Hi,
Can any tell me in SAP standard can one sales bom's item is another sales bom's header? For example, material code " A" is the header of sales bom, it has 3 component materials: A1, A2,A3. If A3 is another sales bom's header, it has 2 components:B1, B2. Can this suppose support in SAP ?
When i entry material code "A" in sales order, will it bring out  A1,A2,A3, B1,B2 ?
       Thanks in advance!

    Hi Shen,
I think you can get your requirement through Multilevel BOM concept.
Here Iam giving the link about multilevel BOM go through this it may help you.

  • Sales BOM per customer

This might be a strange question but still. We have a customer who ships out pallets and crates to their customers. They want to be able to track these items of course and bill the customers according to the number of items they received. N.B. these items are not returned so returnable packaging is out of the question.
We are looking at the use of a sales BOM so we can calculate the number of pallets and crates per sales order and delivery based on the number of finished products they ship out and of course create an invoice where these items are listed as part of the delivery with the actual costs. This works quite satisfactory BUT it will only work when either all customers use the sales BOM or all customers do not use the sales BOM.
What's the problem, as this is a new process, they will not be able to convince all customers to directly pay for pallets and crates that are being shipped out. We are now facing the problem that for part of the customers they want to use a sales BOM and invoice them for the pallets and crates they receive BUT for part of the customers they do not want to invoice them for the pallets and crates they receive. This means that we are looking for a way where we can indicate, per customer, whether to use a sales BOM (ship out and invoice pallets and crates) or not to use a sales BOM (do not logically ship out and invoice pallets and crates).
Is this possible yes or no? Maybe with a user exit that checks for a specific field in the customer master? We have already defined two sales BOM's per material, one where pallets and crates are used and one without pallets and crates so we could mis-use the alternative sales BOM principle, but we still need a trigger to call either sales BOM.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi Roberto and Biju,
We looked at both options but neither are workable. Not all warehouses use HUM because not all warehouses are their own warehouses, some are from logistics service providers who have not SAP access, otherwise the problem would be a bit easier, plus the customer does not use packing and will not use packing in the future.
The dynamic product proposal was a bit more promising but also there, we encounter a problem because we cannot make a calculation on the number of crates and pallets shipped out to a customer, which is one of the requirements.
The problem still lies in the fact that
    - Customer A does not want a bill for crates and pallets and therefore does not want to see the items on the delivery and the invoice.
    - Customer B does want a bill for crates and pallets and therefore needs a calculation for the number of pallets and crates he received.
We cannot set a field somewhere that says customer A without these items, customer B with these items and then trigger something else.
Thanks for the help but we still haven't solved the problem.

    Hi Boopathi,
    You may try this one:
    SELECT Distinct T1.Code, SUM(T0.Quantity * T1.Quantity) 'PO Qty', T2.DocNum
    FROM dbo.RDR1 T0
    INNER JOIN dbo.OITT T3 ON T3.TreeType = 'S' AND T3.Code = T0.ItemCode

  • Sales BOM its possible edit the quantity for child items in Sales Order

Hello friends, this is my issue
I need to use a Sales BOM but the problem is that the child items in any Document marketing, such as Sales Order, the quantity for that child items it´s possible to edit independant of the father item code, and I don´t want this because allows to users to change diferent quantity for child items versus the quantity of the father item code.
    Thanks in advance

Thanks Gordon yes I know even with this solution the problem is the with transaction notification is not possible determine that event to block, or if you know how or get some tip, please send me, because I analyze the requirement and I couldn´t develop.

  • Sales BOM: Quantity correlation for deliv.group 001

When creating a delivery for a sales BOM material assigned to delivery group, I'm getting a partial quantity.
Example is sales BOM material A requires 4 EA of subitem B.  Order created for 1 EA of material A, which requires 4 EA subitem B but there are only 2 EA of B in stock.  The corresponding delivery is created with a quantity of .5 for material A.  I get the following message in the delivery log:
    "Quantity correlation for deliv.group 001 from sls.order 0004831194 for deliv.item 000010"
I'm expecting the quantity to be 1 on the sales order.  Any help is appreciated.

    Hi,
I guess not. Obviously, if you don't have enough to deliver in full, then you can do one of the two; either deliver less (in this case half), or deliver none (maybe you can't deliver half because it is impossible).
Here's something from the online documentation:
    Correlating Delivery Groups
Items in delivery groups can be combined in the sales order to synchronize their delivery. You will receive a warning message when creating a delivery for a sales order if all items belonging to such a group cannot be delivered. If you then create deliveries using a delivery due list, all orders whose delivery groups cannot be completely delivered will be ignored in this process. In this case, the log supplies all appropriate information. If the delivery quantity is changed or if such an item is deleted in a delivery item belonging to a delivery group, you will receive a warning message. For further information on delivery groups, refer to Combining Sales Document Items for Delivery.
In addition, the system will carry out a quantity correlation for groups of items when they are classified together by one of the following requirements:
the items belong to a common delivery group
the items have a bill of material structure
If the order structure arose from a bill of material explosion, the relations in quantity of the items is based on component quantity. If this is not the case, it is based on the relation of the order quantities. The system does not correlate items classified as having fixed quantities.
When creating deliveries, the system automatically carries out a quantity correlation. If you change a higher level itemu2019s quantity, the quantities in the dependent items will be adjusted on all levels if necessary. When you change a dependent itemu2019s quantity, the system generates a warning message. When you delete a higher level item, all subordinate items are deleted as well. When you delete a dependent item, the system generates a warning message. If the dependent item contains a quantity to correlate and is the main item of a batch split, you receive a note. You must decide manually for which batches the quantity change is to take place.
The question really is, from a business point of view, in your example what would you like to do? Deliver 1 A or none?
    Regards,
    Mario

  • Assigning informations in Sales Order for Sales BOM components with DI Server

    Hi,
We are adding sales order in SAP B1 using DI Services(Order Service). In the Documents row, we are assigning only informations of the BOM parent and the child components are getting automatically added by the system, petty much the expected behaviour so far. But now, we want to assign a warehouse to the BOM parent and all of its children. How this information can be added? Is there any way to do so with the Add operation?
    Regards,
    Victor

    Dear Sanju,
Could you please explain what you have done for the same?

  • Drop Ship processing for Sales BOM

    Hi,
We have a requirement to have a Sales BOM drop shipped from a Vendor. Only the header material is relevant for pricing and purchase order. However, we have a business requirement to explode the sales BOM in the sales document and billing document to address statistical pricing requirements at the component level.
Since only the header material is required in the PO, it has a billing relevance of 'F'. However, we have set the components to be relevant for order related billing. Standard SAP opens up the components for billing even though a vendor invoice for the header has not been received.
Can copy control be used to control the components from being billed unless the header is billed AND the quantity of component materials modified based on the header material being invoiced ? Is it possible to only explode the sales BOM in the billing document using a billing document exit ?
Would appreciate suggestions from the forum.
    Regards

    Hi
The billing document creation can be controlled through the copying requirement in Copy Control of Billing documents.
Transaction VOFM | Billing documents: Create a new requirement which prevents billing unless the parent item has the vendor invoice receipt.
This requirement has to be then assigned to the respective billing and sales document type in copy control.

    Vinu
