Sales Order stock in COPA
Hi SAP community,
is the Sales Order stock visible in COPA?
Thanks,
Chris
COPA is used for profitability analysis not inventory management. Stock is kept in a Balance sheet ( BS ) account and Sales and COGS are P&L. BS are not in COPA. P&L are in COPA.
pls assign points to say thanks.

Non valuated sales order stock-help reqd
Dear Experts,
My client is into Pipe coating business who receives the pipe from the customers, coats it as per there requirements and dispatches it thereon. There is no concept of FG here as its only the service he is doing on it and also when he receives the pipe there is no raw material cost on it. Raw materials for him would be chemicals etc which he uses to coat the pipe.
This is the case of NON Valuated sales order stock.
1) non valuated GR will be done for customer stock -Only QTY update
2) sales order bom will be created with defined characteristic.
3) Plan cost of sales order will be updated based on Costing ID setting
4)Production order will be created based on Sales order.Good issue and Activity confirmation happen at Production order level but Good received only QTY but no value update.
5)Production order will be settled on sales order.Settlement profile of production order type must contain COST ELEMENT tick under settlement.
6)now my sales order contain actual cost of production.
7)No accounting document will be generated at PGI.
8)only accounting document will be generated at Billing.
9)Only COPA Document will be generated at Sales order settlement. I am going to create PA transfer structure in order to post COGM cost component wise.
Mi missing something?
Question
1) Whether all steps are correct
2) There will be no standard cost release and no variance calculation as well.
3)How can i use RA under non valuated sales order stock?.
4)HOw can i use customer stock under sales order bom with non valuated value?
5)How i will do Production order GR Only qty update?
regards
RKHi Raman
All steps are correct.. You seem to be an expert now!
THere wil be no Std cost release or variance calc
You can set up RA based on costs or Revenue... 1st of all check with your client whether they would like to have any WIP in this case
you can receive the customer supplied pipe using 501E movement as Non val
GR - Only Qty Update is controlled by Req Class... You need to leave Valuation field BLanlk in Req CLass and choose Acct Assn Catg E

Goods issue of sales order stock
Hi,
We are implementing an MTO scenario. We are not sure what set up is required for goods movements for spl stock E?
The problem we are facing is customer number is not getting populated in Material document during PGI and COPA document?
Also we are using the standard item category ZTAN which is a copy of TAN. Please help us in understanding what set up should be done for handling Sales Order Stock.
Thanks
ChandraHi,
Create material (material type FERT) : MM01

Create production order : CO08
Goods issue : MIGO/MB1A
Order Confirmation : CO15/Co11N
Deliver the Order : MB31
Deliver the Sales Order : VA02
Make invoice : VL01
The Cycle of Make to order: Steps : MTO Scenario

2. Routing Creation
3. Creation of BOM
4. Sales order creation
5. Production order Scheduling, Costing, Release and Save
6. Production order Quantity confirmations for operations, Parallel task of material issue to order or to reservations (261)
7. Calculate WIP
8. Fully Produced Production Quantities will be put into stock (GR) (Spl stock indicator u201CEu201D)
9. Delivery against sales order
10. Invoicing.
11. Settlement that production order

Non valuated sales order stock explanation
Dear All,
Can anybody explain me Non valuated Sales order stock briefly.
I know some of the basics about this scenario but i would like to know more about this scenario.
appreciate your explanation.
Regards,
kishore. With non-valued sales order stock you must also enable the sales order as a cost collector. All costs and revenues can then be assigned to the sales order. Goods movements for the finished good are performed and quantities tracked, however, the goods movement have no value and no financial impact.
For example, you manufacture a product and all the cost to manufacture the product are assigned to a production order. You do a goods receipt to record the produced quantity and the inventory quantity of the sale order stock is increased. In a valuated sales order environment, this transaction would debit inventory and credit expense. In the non-valued sales order environment, no financial posting is made and the costs remain on the production order.
When the goods are later sold, the quantity is removed from sales order stock, but again no finacial posting is made to account for the inventory since it is non-valued. The only financial posting would be to charge the revenue amount to the sales order with an offset to A/R. So at the end of these transactions all the cost and revenue are residing on the production and sales orders. You do have the option of settling those amounts to COPA.

Sales order stock to unrestricted
Hi Experts,
In MTO scenario, creation of production order is based on sales order. While doing GRN it is going to sales order stock. Is there anyway to post directly to the unrestricted usage?
For this what are the prerequisities?
Anybody plz help me?
NarenDear,
Im not clear on why you want to post th stock to unrestricted.
IN MTO,goods are manufactured for a particular customer and the planning copies the requirements from sales order.
Once the processing is completed, the goods are picked from sales order stock for completing the delivery and billing.
Here if reqired you can transfer the stock to unresticted manually after the GRN is posted.
This can be done in MIGO,transfer posting using the movement type 413.By doing this the requirement of the sales order will not be closed and it will be available for planning.

Different Method to valuate sales order stock
Dear expert,
I came across a problem and I need your help:
Scenario: Make-To-Order production without sales order controlling. Uses standard price in material master record.
As we know, There are a predefined sequence to valuate sales order stock: First, The system uses the standard price on the basis of your customer exit COPCP002 Material valuation for valuated sales order stock. If not defined COPCP002, Then, the system uses sales order costing. Then, the system determines the standard price using the production order cost estimate. At the end, the system determines that If you manufacture a material both for the make-to-stock-inventory and for the valuated sales order stock, the system reads the material master record of the collective requirements material.
In SAP online Help, there is a note that: If you calculate the standard price of sales order stock in a preliminary cost estimate for the manufacturing order or use the price in the material master record, you cannot transfer cost component splits into COPA. This is my doubt: I don't know exactly where are the differences between sales orde costing and standard price in material mater to determine sales order stock.
So, I have a question: What are the extract diffences between using sale order cost estimate and the standard price in the material master record to determine valuated sales order stock?
Thanks for your help. Best regards,What you said is exactly what I want! Very thankful for your help.
Yes, I have found that in EBEW table that standard price is valuated with preliminary cost estimate because I don't give a sales order cost estimate but I give an sales order stock in the customizing - requirement class. So, I have this question that how the sales order stock is determined.
In COPA customizing (COprofitability analysismaster datavaluationSet up valuation using material cost estimate), standard cost estimate or sales order cost estimate can be transferred into COPA value fields in our system.
But, I have still have a question: I found in our system, preliminary cost estimate in the linked production order is determined for valuation of sales order stock in EBEW table. As sap online help says, cost component splits can not be transferred to COPA.
So, according to SAP online help, I think what you said u201Cu2026..However , when we start thinking about the result of this cost to flow into COPA , this cannot happen as the Inventory was valued with a Preliminary csot estimate. So , the Online help says that it will not be able to transfer Result of Preliminary cost estimate into COPA for transferrring COGS details. System would always require a Standard cost estimate or a Sales order Cost estimate to flow Cost details into COPAu201D is correct.
But, in our system, cost component can be transferred into COPA!? When I create a sales billing (invoice) with tcode VF01, it can create a profitability analysis document (shown in VF03) which it had a cost component split for that material in the sales order stock valuated with the preliminary cost estimate. Or where is stored for the Make-to-Order materialu2019s cost component split in COPA?
That is the real point that confused me. Hope you can help me. Thanks very much. -
Hi,
can anyone give me an idea about viewing the sales order stock in delivery monitor (VL10c). I did enable the "stock data" field in the user role tab of VL10c.Solutions will be greatly appreciated
thanks,
jai.COPA is used for profitability analysis not inventory management. Stock is kept in a Balance sheet ( BS ) account and Sales and COGS are P&L. BS are not in COPA. P&L are in COPA.

Third party process with Valuated sales order stock
Hi All,
We have third party sales order process with valuated sales order stock. The problem is that in the theird party PR which is triggered directly from the sales order it determines a stock account which is assigned to the BSX key in OBYC.
But since this is third party processing as per my understanding a consumption account assigned to key GBB-VAX (since account assignmnt category is X) should get determined, so that when the GR is done against the PO a consumption posting is done in the background.
I am not able to understand if the system is determining the stock account due to the fact that it is valuated sales order stock and if so, what should happen after GR. Should we have a stock created for the material which is physically directly delivered to the customer?
Regards,
V SHi,
Check GBB-VKA which is defined in OME9 for your ''E'' Account Assignment Category that SAP will debit upon GR posting
Also check "X" GBB-VAX and the G/L account assignment in OBYC
The posting on GR should be debit KBS -Credit GR-IR
Thanks

Revaluation in stock transfer to Sales Order stock from unrestricted
User is trying to do a stock transfer posting from unrestricted to Sales order stock. Now the system is throwing an error saying that account setting has not been done for UMB (OBYC setting). I have given the GL for this UMB transaction type in OBYC> UMB is for posting Gain/Loss from revaluation.
I dont understand how a revauation happens when we transfer stock from unrestricted to Sales Order Stock ? What is the purpose of that in our scenario, could you please explain.Hi:
Normally it should not happen in case of stock transfer posting. Please check the movement type settings for valuation class of your material and see if the transaction type UMB has been set against valuation class in OMJJ...Account grouping.
Hope it will help you.

Changing Sales Order from using Sales Order Stock to Std Unrestricted
Hi
We have set up some materials to default to an Item Category/Schedule lines that creates the Sales Order with relevance to Sales Order Stock.
However in some instances we need to change the Sales Order to a Std Item Category that just uses Unrestricted stock.
When we test this currently, we are unable to update the original Line Item as it is GREY.
So we have been adding a "reason for rejection" then copying information into a 2nd line with a Std Item Category.
But it is still sitting in MD04 under the Sales Order Stock configuarion and not reducing Unrestricted Stock . .. .
What are we doing wrong?
I had assumed that changing the Item Category would remove the Sales Order Stock requirement and use normal Unrestricted.
Thanks
HayleyHi,
In VOV4, has the standard item category been assigned under Manual Item Category column? If the value is assigned, then you can change the item category in sales order.

Move sales order stock to company stock in QI
Is there any movement type to move sales order stock to company's own stock in quality.
With 411 E quantity is transferred from unrestricted-use special stock E (sales order stock) to unrestricted-use companys own stock.
But my company requires that sales order stock be moved into company stock in QI.
411 E moves stock into MARD-LABST but we need it to be moved into MARD-INSME.
Any input on this is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Pushpinder Randhawa.Hi,
I believe your stock is not customer returns as picked from your question.
by copying the movment type the behaviour of movement type doesnot change. do you think by copying 411E and giving the name 911E you can post to QI stock ?
the defination of movement type 411E is self explainatory
411E Transfer posting of sales order stock to company's own stock
The quantity is transferred from unrestricted-use special stock E ( sales order stock), to unrestricted-use storage location stock.
no it is not possible by copying the movement type.
carry out 2 step process. from unresctricted transfer to QI.

Sales order stock from Projects
Dear Gurus,
The Scenerio is,
I am procuring materials through project. Generally it will go into project stock, If it is mentioned as a stock item. But my requirement is, the procured material has to go into salesorder stock.( Bcoz delivery of material happening in SD thrpugh sales order.) Is that possible? If yes, what are all the settings, I have to do in PS module and other modules,if required. But the cost(Planned/Actual) has to be captured against Project.
Awaiting for your reply.
Regards
SureshHi,
When you are creating a PR from project , the "OPTT" customizing
1.Should have the "D" setting for "Sales Doc- Project" setting.
and in the sales order that is relevant to the project , you must have the WBS element assignment
Both the project and the Sales order should have the material ! project having it as being procured ( to take care of PR & PO generation )
and the SO having the material as being delivered ( to do the delivery and billing of the material supplied )
The Sales order should have the material production or procurement getting triggered through the item category ( and the material master's MRP Type ) and the requirement type !!
All these settings once maintained, you can have GR of material to Sales order stock !
Best Regards,
M.Amarendra
