Same Model Different Drivers Installed ??

I need help with a driver problem.  I have 2 machines, both are the same.  Dell Optiplex 7010 desktops.   I ran our CM2012 OSD on each.   Once the image was laid down everything was the same on each computer except the screen resolution.
Machine 1 Device Manager.
Display adaptor = Intel(R) HD Graphics
Monitors = Generic PnP Monitor
Screen resolution = 1280 x 1024
Machine 2 Device Manager.
Display adaptor = Intel(R) HD Graphics
Monitors = Generic PnP Monitor
Screen resolution = 848 x 480
In my CM2012 driver package for the 7010 I have every driver I can find from Dell's site.  Why am I having this issue?  We are ready to start doing mass rollours of 100 machines per night so I have to get this fixed asap.
Thanks for any suggestions.
This is from my Optiplex 7010 Driver Package
mqh7

After I posted I noticed my WMI said this:  SELECT * FROM Win32_ComputerSystem WHERE Model = 'OptiPlex 7010'     I changed the = to a LIKE  so it now looks like this:
SELECT * FROM Win32_ComputerSystem WHERE Model LIKE 'OptiPlex 7010'
I am using the UDI wizard and within this tool I set the screen resolution to 1280x1024.  It is does in a file called CustomSettings.ini
[Settings]
Priority=Default
Properties=MyCustomProperty
[Default]
OSInstall=Y
SkipCapture=YES
SkipAdminPassword=NO
SkipProductKey=YES
BitsPerPel=32
VRefresh=60
XResolution=1280
YResolution=1024
So I built my .WIM using MDT 2013, I use UDI to create a basic install menu driven tool and then run it all via CM2012 Task Sequence.
Now the interesting part.  After changing the = to a LIKE I rebuilt my machine and after the OSD is complete I have the correct screen resolution.   I will rebuild it a few more times today but this is a good sign.

    Hello, on my compaq laptop model f765ea when i boot the laptop up some times the little speaker in the bottom right of the screen has a cross thro it saying there is no audio drivers installed i have tried reinstallingbut this does not work?
    some times when i turn the laptop on there is no cross thro the speaker and the audio is a bit hit and miss.
    any ideas?

    Hello Fernando,
    First you might keep windows update regularly to obtain the latest driver for your device. Note: Drivers on the Windows Update site are directly provided by hardware manufacturers. Microsoft tests drivers in various environments before they are published; however, we cannot guarantee all drivers will work on all hardware platforms as there are too many different models, although their hardware ID are the same as the standard version. In some cases, due to hardware modifications by different manufacturers, the driver updates may cause some error.
    Meanwhile, please understand that Windows 7 is a new operating system and whole driverstore has been reprogrammed; you might wait for another period of time till the retail version is released and push the vendor company to upgrade their device driver. Thanks for your time and understanding!
    For more details, please look at the first Sticky thread at the top of this forum.
    What can I do if my hardware does not work?
    This will give you some guidelines.
    Good Luck!

  • How to Use Same Models in Different DC's.

    Hi Experts,
                   I want to use same Models in Different DC's. How I achieve it by adding Model to Public parts.
    With Regards,
    Roop Kumar.

    Hi Roop,
    It's enough to reimport Only Parent DC. No need to change in Child DC
    This depends on scenario according to my experience.
    Changes to the model definition can be three ways
    1)Addition: Adding new fields or structures to your model.
    In this case "It's enough to reimport Only Parent DC. No need to change in Child DC", if you are not using the new fields or structures in child DC.
    2)Modification: Modifying existing fields or structures (e.g. data types) in your model.
    In this case "It's enough to reimport Only Parent DC. No need to change in Child DC", because fields or structures in child DC are reference to the Parent DC.
    3)Deletion:Deleting fields or structures in your model.
    In this case,  "It's enough to reimport Only Parent DC. No need to change in Child DC", if you are not using the deleted fields or structures in child DC.
    But this holds if you make your DC as a public part but not the model and the parent DC's Interface Controller must have the context that you are going to use in child DC.  You will find more help [here |/docs/DOC-8661#section5]

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
    You can install a 64-bit Windows 7 or Vista version in your Mac. Make sure you downloaded these drivers > http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1630 Also, if you have the Snow Leopard DVD you used to upgrade your Mac or the OS X DVD that came with your Mac, you can use it to install the Boot Camp drivers

  • If i want to get a new or replacement iphone, do i have to get the same model or can i get a different model? Also when replacing can you get it in a different color?

    Hi, i want to buy a replacement iphone because my button doesnt work. I was wonderin if i could buy another model or if i had to get the same one. And if i cant do that, could i at least get the same model but in a different color? Thanks

    You will get a service replacement of the same model, same color. You can ask nicely if you want to change colors but normally they will not do so.

  • Same model replacement in different country ?

    I have an iPhone 5 model a1429 which was bought in USA. I am now in Switzerland and have bought apple protection plan locally. Since it's the same model that they sell here would the repair the broke home button or replace my product ?

    No. You must physically return the phone to the US for ALL warranty/support issues. You will not get that phone serviced in Europe.
    BTW: They are NOT the same model iPhones, even though the model numbers are the same. Your US model is a CDMA iPhone. That model is NOT sold in Europe.

  • Windows XP hangs on 'spash' screen after video drivers installed on K8N Neo4-F

    Hiya folks - got a MASSIVE post for everyone here...  Sorry but I think it's necessary...  Here goes:
    I just upgraded everything in my computer except for the HDD.  New case, power supply, etc.  I started by copying all important data from my original HDD to a portable USB 2.0 drive.  My data is safe, and intact on that drive.  So...  I formated and repartitioned the oroginal hard drive (1 partition), assembled the system and everything runs perfectly.  The problems come later....
    The Windows installation is insanely fast and smooth...  and the system boots into Windows with no problems after installation is complete.  I didn't even need to install the nVidia RAID drivers because windows detects my single SATA drive fine.  The First thing I do upon seeing the desktop for the first time is: Install nVidia chipset drivers, then AMD Athlon 64 driver (both latest releases).  I then restart and the system boots fine.  After Windows starts, I'm asked for display drivers.  I click 'cancel', as specified in my ATI installation guide, open up the ATI CD and install the drivers via the ATI autorun setup.  At this point, there are no further drivers for me to install and NONE of them have an "!" near them.  So I figure everything is A-Okay and restart... BAM!! - Windows hangs on the splash screen.  The blue bar moves for about 10 minutes, then stops for 2, then moves for 2, and so on...  This will go on FOREVER.
    So...  I boot into safe mode and uninstall the ATI software/drivers with the help of some other third-party programs, schedule a disk check with CHKDSK and reboot.  I startup in Directory Services mode to allow the disk check to complete.  No errors and the system restarts on its own (supposed to).  Now the system boots in normal mode again, but no video drivers installed.  So I download the latest drivers from the ATI website and install them.  I restart, and WHAM! -- same problem.  At this point I'm thinking "bad video card" so again I go into safe mode, remove drivers, schedule disk check, etc....   restart in Dir Serv mode...  "one or more errors found" this time...  but that's okay.
    After the auto-restart I shut down the computer and unplugged EVERYTHING but the video card, HDD and one stick of RAM... then reset the CMOS, checked battery and PSU outputs (all fine) I then went back into the BIOS to ensure everything is set to 'as safe as possible' and restarted.  Again I tried the latest drivers, and again the same problem after restart.  So I then booted into safe mode, but left the drivers intactthis time.  I scheduled another disk check and restarted again in Dir Serv mode.  After system restart I shut the computer down and switched to my other RAM stick and booted...  same problem.  now I'm DEFINITELY thinking "bad video card" so I plug everything back in the way it's supposed to be, reset CMOS and restart with the Windows CD the drive.  I again format the HDD, etc... and install Windows.
    Now, with another fresh Windows install, having read multiple tech articles, I thought this could be an issue with the NV SW IDE drivers, so I installed the driver pack minus that driver.  I restarted and the system boots fine.  Next, I again tried installing the latest ATI drivers, restart, and SLAMMO! -- again the system hangs on the splash screen.  So, rather than waste my time with disk checks, etc...  I did ANOTHER clean OS install.  This time I decided to try installing video drivers BEFORE the chipset drivers...  no such luck.  I restart and Windows hangs in the usual spot.
    NOW, I'm REALLY getting upset and can hardly contain my fists of rage that crave to desimate the computer case and all its internal componets.  Time to RMA the video card.  I exchange the card for the same type, thinking this will solve my problem, I drive happily home with the new card.  Wouldn't you guess it...  SAME PROBLEM, on ANOTHER clean OS install!!!  Now I'm thinking "bad mobo"? - I don't know because it boots fine and runs fast without video drivers, but it seems to be directly linked to the video card.  So...  I figure "okay maybe these nForce boards don't like ATI cards"...  so I return the Radeon X700 and exchange for a BFG GeForce 6600GT.  Yep, you guessed it, STILL the SAME problem!!!
    I 'm pretty-sure the problem has got to be with the mobo but I can't be too sure.  It doesn't seem too likely because the system boots and runs fine with basic Windows VGA drivers.  Also, if I were to try and boot to VGA mode after encountering this problem, that would not work at all either, in any situation, other than after removing the ATI drivers or installing windows without them initially.  Right NOW, as we speak, I tried uninstalling the nvidia drivers/software via safe mode, I ran disk check, etc...  but the system will no longer boot in normal mode or VGA mode even without the nvidia drivers installed.  I've formated the hard drive and am ready to reinstall again if I can find a solution to this problem.
    If ANYONE can help me it would be EXTREMELY APPRECIATED!  I'm not a dummy when it comes to computers but this is pure MADNESS!!!  I couldn't even BEGIN to fit everything else I tried into this forum.  I had to sum-it-up, but I will gladly answer any questions from you 'brains' out there and will monitor this site daily.  I won't ask the question and disappear never to tell of the solution I may or may not find...
    Thanks in advance,
    Eilios

    Hi,
    If you only have one Serial ATA Hard Disk, then you don't need the nVidia RAID Driver. This driver is only needed when you set up a Serial ATA RAID Array or a Parallel ATA RAID array. For this you must have two identical hard drives in your PC, for RAID 0 and RAID 1 arrays.
    nVidia SATA RAID drivers supports RAID 0, RAID 1, RAID 0+1, and JBOD. When you install at least two Hard Drives, prepare your mainboard to use SATA RAID and
    set up the RAID Array style you want to use.
    Then you will need to install the nVidia RAID driver, to allow Windows to "See" and use the drives correctly. This is done by pressing the F6 Key, inserting the nVidia RAID Driver disk , and "telling Windows" where to find the driver it needs, at the very beginig of the Windows XP setup process.
    However if you install a RAID driver with just one SATA Hard drive, or two SATA hard drives, (this last scenario not set to be used in an array, but as two different use drives, lets say one for OS and one for MP3 Storage), then Windows begins to load, it will load the RAID driver, but since there's no RAID Array, Windows will keep "looking" for an inexistant RAID Array, and if there's no such RAID array, this will take forever.
    That's why installing nVidia RAID Driver may hang your system (which as you saw is  not really hung), at the Windows Splash Screen, it is just trying to find something that doesn't exitst.
    NOTE: nVidia RAID Controller, supports RAID Arrays into both, the Serial ATA channels and the Parallel ATA (IDE) channels too. But for both options, you always need to have at least two identical hard drives installed to build up and use a RAID Array, which can only be seen by the nVidia RAID Driver, for both Serial ATA hard drives and Parallel ATA (IDE) hard drives.
    NOTE: JBOD stands for Just a Bunch Of Disks = In this scenario, you can combine hard drives of different brands and/or capacities into one big drive that will be seen by Windows as one drive only.
    NOTE: Even if you don't have any RAID array, you must install the nVidia nForce 4 Drivers. You can just leave the nVIDIA SATA Driver check box empty.
    Hope this helps
    I did not have any RAID or SATA drive in my system, actually these were disabled in BIOS. I had the similar experience though. BTW, why NF4 chiset driver is very important to install if Windows XP drivers can get the job done? Look at my link in the previous post.

  • SCCM Driver Injection : What am I missing? Need help with getting drivers installing correctly in my environment.

    Everyone,
    I'm not new to using SCCM, but i'm VERY new to setting up and managing it.  I have just laid it down for the school district that I manage, and i'm loving it.  Imaging is going great, all but one thing now...drivers installing.
    Let me tell you what I've been doing, so hopefully a kind soul out there can tell me where my logic of the driver "injection" process is lacking and might can fill in some gaps.
    I downloaded all drivers pertaining to the 7-8 series of computers we have in our environment currently, and imported them based on a criteria such as this:
    x86.LenovoEdge71.Desktop
    x86.DellOpti755.Desktop
    so forth and so on
    I created packages based on the same exact naming scheme.  I update my distribution point at the end of the import, and all the drivers/packages/categories are in place.  When I go to Monitoring/Distribution Status/Content Status, all of my packages
    show up , but under targeted it says 0.
    My thoughts from reading online, is I upload all these drivers and during my task sequence where it says it's "applying device drivers" it's set to "install only the best matched compatible drivers" and "consider drivers from all
    categories".  I also checked "do unattended installation of unsigned drivers no versions of Windows where this is allowed".
    so correct me if my thinking is incorrect, it should search through all series of the computers we have in our environment and grab the best drivers from the overall database.  Is this not right?
    The reason I ask this, is we have a few hundred HP 6000 Pro desktops.  WHen I image them, it comes up with 2 unknown devices.  OF these, I can manually point them at the folder from which I uploaded the drivers for this series/category and it installs
    100% successfully...MANUALLY.  What's the reasoning behind this?
    I can't help but think there's something missing in my process / logic and I need to be set straight.
    Can someone out there tell me what i'm doing wrong?  We're planning a district-wide re-imaging before summer's over, and the clock's ticking...but the drivers being installed are all that's keeping us from starting our migrations.
    Any help on this is GREATLY appreciated, thank you very much!

    You have setup everything correct, but for your desired result you need to use "Apply Driver Package" Task rather than "Auto Apply Drivers".
    Auto Apply drivers will install the best matched/compatible drivers for only the PNP devices.For more info on this:http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb680990.aspx
    Whereas "Apply Driver Package" would install all drivers you have in the package and hence you don't see the unknown drivers in device manager. For more info on this: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb680403.aspx
    If you have multiple models, create this task for each model individually and then associate with a WMI query condition under Options tab to check the manufacturer/model
    Example: Select * from Win32_ComputerSystem where Manufacturer = "HP" and Model Like "6000%"

  • Elements 10 does not recognize multiple printers of same model?

    In our business, we print on multiple printers, some of which are the same model.
    For example, the Epson Stylus C88 is a common printer for us and we've been using PSE for years, since Version 3.  For the purpose of our sample integrity (we print specialized inks to analyze their density), we wish to continue using Epson C88's for as long as we can still purchase them.
    We've been making infrequent version upgrades to PSE, but are now finally caught up.
    Unfortunately, when trying to print with PSE10 having more than one C88 installed, two problems occur:
    1) The printer selection menu has all the printers listed, but as soon as we access the Advanced Settings, the printer choice defaults towards the most recently installed C88 (ie. we wanted to use Copy 5 and it would not allow us to choose anything but Copy 9, the latest one).
    2) We're allowed to print exactly once.  When I try to print a second time, a dialog box pops up saying:
    "Before you can perform printer-related tasks such as page setup or printing a document, you need to install a printer."
    The box pops when I hit the print command, meaning I can't do ANY printing, despite having a large number of printers installed, unless I close and reload the program.
    I attempted a quick fix of this by uninstalling all my Epson C88's, and then reinstalling the particular C88 I wished to use.  I was allowed to print, and continue printing, as long as that C88 was the only one that was installed.  Unfortunately, when I moved to install another, the problem surfaced again.  This time, I deleted my "original" C88 while keeping the second copy installed, and the problem persists.  I could maintain one and only one Epson C88 installed at any time, but I'd rather not have to.
    Doing a little research, I've noticed that this is not the only model of printer with this problem.  I've attempted to load up an HP Officejet Pro 8000, and the exact same problem occurred, leading me to believe that it's an issue in PSE, not the printer.
    The printer drivers are all current, and I have the latest version of PSE10 installed.  This hasn't happened on any version previous to my knowledge (earliest known being PSE7).
    Thanks in advance for any assistance you can give in this issue.

    Yeah, that does seem to allow it to print.  This means I should rename all the printers, which, honestly, is not that big of a deal.  Not so much as uninstalling and reinstalling.
    Thanks!

  • Possible to Have Multiple Graphics Card Drivers Installed?

    Is it possible to have both the nVidia propritary, nVidia legacy, and ATI open-source drivers installed all at the same time, because I have set up a portable Arch Linux system, and I want to have want to have 3D acceleration on all of them.
    My computer has an Radeon X1300, and I'm using the open-source driver for it, and this one has a Riva TNT2 Model 64.  I think the comps in the tech lab also have nVidia cards, but newer.

    nvidia and nvidia-xxxx conflicts with eatch other, so no. As said, only the drivers that comes with X.org play along with eachother. Welcome to the beautiful world of closed software.
    You can have them both as packages an install 'em/uninstall 'em as needed...
    You could make a nice simple script to run at startup so you can choose which xorg.conf to use, you could easily have many and just symlink them to xorg.conf as needed... all you kneed to know is some bash scripting.
    I'd try and use a DAEMON aproach by creating and rc.d script, but you could try as you like

  • 128 GB limit Hard Drive - All the same but different

    I'm currently replacing a dead drive with a Western Digital Blue 500gb in a G4 2X500. The drive is only reading 128 GB. Normally the answer to the question is you need a card.
    My issue: I have another drive attached to a card that's reading 500 gb it's jumped as cable-select (which WD Documentation states the Mac doesn't support.) I've tried several combinations of attaching the drive on the same ribbon to no result. I've also directly attached it to the second ata input on the card. Nothing. I'm running out of ideas (althought I'm thinking of selecting a master/slave combination for the two drives on the same ribbon.)
    Anyone have any thoughts or ideas?

    If you formatted it on the Built-in ATA Bus, you probably ran up against the 128 GB limit due to your Hardware pre-dating the mid-2002 Macs mentioned in that article.( I must admit that article is information-dense and takes several readings to sort out how it applies to a particular situation.)
    The issue I believe you now face is that different Drivers are used when connecting to the card Vs connecting to the built-in Bus.
    When you initialize on the built-in Bus, only the drivers for the Built-in ATA controller are loaded onto the drive. When you look closely in Disk Utility, the active data partition will likely be about slice 3 \[partition 3], and references to it may read something like "disk2s3".
    When you connect the drive to the PCI-slot Card, the SCSI driver is typically used. If the SCSI driver is not presnt on the drive \[which may be true in your case] the drive will not mount.
    When you initialize the drive in an external enclosure or attached to the card, Drivers for all potential access methods are installed. When you look closely in Disk Utility, the active data partition will likely be about slice 10 \[partition 10], and references to it may read something like "disk2s10".
    Once initialized on the card, all the drivers required will be present. But since the drive is larger than the 128 GB limit enforced on your Built-in ATA Bus, moving the drive back to the Built-in Bus will probably preclude mounting any partition that extends beyond the 128 GB barrier. So if you want to move it back to the built-in Bus later, creating a 127.9 GB (or smaller) partition as the first partition would be a good thing to try.

  • TNS Timeout Error with both 32bit and 64bit drivers installed

    I have a server running WIndows 2008 64bit and SQL Server 2012 64bit. I have both the 32bit and 64bit Oracle ODBC drivers installed. 32bit is for SSIS and SSRS uses 64bit. I have an ODBC connection setup for both the 32bit and 64bit. I have the datasources setup for the 64bit and when I test it it works. When I go to run a query I get TNS timeout errors. Any ideas?

    Thank you very much, Curt!
    It's right: When the 64bit version is running, then the PSDs will be opened by this.
    But the configuration under "Bridge Edit/preferences/file type assoiciatons" has the same result as under the "Windows/Systemcontrol/Standardprograms": Never they show the name "Adobe Photoshop.exe (64bit)" - only "Adobe Photoshop.exe" In both cases (Bridge and systemcontrol) I have the possibility to choose the "right" Photoshop.exe by going to the right file (32bit OR 64bit), but the name of the .exe is ever the same: Only "Adobe Photoshop.exe". There is no difference.
    And so even if the 64bit version is preferred (in Bridge), the PSD-files will be opened in the 32bit-version, when no one of both versions is running.
    But - so or so - you have given me a way to solve my basic-problem!
    And when I find the time for experiments, I will show what happens, when I rename the 64bit-exe to "Adobe Photoshop64.exe" to get two different filenames for Photoshop in the Windows-System. (I'm not shure if this will function: When in the Photoshop-System are intrinsic lnks/references to "Photoshop.exe", then I will have no success! Therefore I have to make a HDD-Clone with the whole Windows-System, all Apps and my Working-data before I try to rename. Perhaps there is "no way back to the activation" after renaming the .exe ...
    Thank you and kind regards,
    Oh-Mann

    It can be possible to have multiple devl_project_id for the same model in cz_devl_projects Table.
    Case -1 : When you delete the existing model and re-import again.
    case 2:
    When you publish the model locally, it will create the same copy of the record with different devl_project_id, creation_date, last update_date etc..\
    You can see that for published records the last_updat_login, checkout_user will be null and for the original model, last_update_login,checkout_user (if model is locked) will not be null.

    Hi,
    try this procedure once.
    from navigator go to your dc and find out the "gen_wdp" folder and from "packages" folder find out the deleted model name folder "modelName" and remove it.
    rebuild the dc.
    delete it from the nwds.
    now from the "development configurations perspective" create project for the dc.

  • Tried to update iPod, failed, no new drivers installed. Now iPod does not show in my computer or in iTunes.

    Anyone know how I can update/unbrick this iPod? It's useless. It's stuck on the screen that says connect to iTunes. iTunes doesn't know it's there. My computer doesn't know it's there. It's not the USB port.
    Please don't direct me here - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808 - already tried, no results.
    Last time it was a missing driver for iTunes but iTunes says nothing new is needed. Help appreciated.

    Let me try this again. My computer said my iPod needed an update. I clicked ok. iTunes said it was doing the update. I browsed the internet. I came back to it after it was done, and it said update failed, no new drivers installed. Now my iPod touch is a brick. I cannot use it for anything. You know that screen that shows the usb cable, a white arrow, and iTunes? It's stuck there. No amount of pushing the sleep/wake button and home button will convince it to go to any other screen. When I go to 'My Computer', it does not recognize that there is anything there. It is not the USB port. Everything was fine until the update tried and failed.
    I am not installing iTunes (piece of crap software that it is) on the other computer in my apartment.
    I have exhausted the articles that sort of go with the problems I am having. They all assume a non brick iPod. Mine is a brick and therefore those articles, including the one you linked, are not relevant.
    Not meaning to be rude, but I came into this not caring much for Apple's business model. I've had my iPod for .. a week? Maybe two, and nothing I've seen has convinced me to feel otherwise. Apple's products are supposed to just work. I am not finding that to be the case. Anyone with anything helpful please?
