Same Subject field sends copies of email to everyone!

Say I have 10 clients and at the end of the month I want to email them their invoice as an attachment.
The subject matter in each email is "Invoice"
Each client not only gets an email with their invoice attached they also get the other nine clients emails as well.
Potentially very embarrassing.

What happens if you change the subject slightly, for example Invoice 1, Invoice 2?

It took a few days and then my AOL email account was infected and has now been send out malicious email to all my contacts for over a month.  It has also infected my iPhone--I am no longer able to send or receive emails on my iPhone.  Also, once the Trojan Horse began using my AOL email it completely blocked me from using my MAC account by sending never ending popups asking for my email password to access my MAC email account, but it never accepts my pass word.  The TH has also slowed down everything on my computer.  It's like I am working on an old PC with dial up connection instead of the high speed digital connection that I have.  The little color wheel spins constantly as I wait for sometimes over a minute for a page to pull up.  If it pulls up at all.  I have tried to use the 2 disks that came with my computer to completely remove everything on my computer and then reinstall all the programs, but I am not allowed to sweep my computer clean.  I thought maybe my disks that came with my computer were defective so I called Apple and they sent me 2 new disks.  I am not able able to clear my computer with the 2 new disks either.  I have done this before successfully so it's not something new to me.  I do remember when I believe my computer became infected:  I had googled an unusual sewing term, and I was opening what appeared to be legitimate sites, when all of a sudden a pop up appeared that said that my computer had been infected.  I immediately shut my computer off, but it was too late.  I downloaded a virus program for Mac, and it has never found a virus or problem at all.  I think it is part of this Trojan Horse, but I am unable to delete it from my computer.  It refuses to uninstall.  The Mac Trojan Horse is real and it is terrible.  If anyone has any suggestions for me I would be very appreciative,

    Install ClamXav and run a scan with that. It should pick up any trojans.

    You will have to look around your machine & figure out the name of the program.
    try /application/utilities/activity monitor
    I recommend that you get a littlesnitch. littlesnitch will track your Web traffic and tell you which applications are sending data from your computer. Be sure to run it awhile because it will trigger a number of alerts. In trail mode, it will run for three hours per boot for a about a month.

    Check System Preferences>Accounts (Users & Groups in later OSX versions)>Login Items window to see if it or something relevant is listed.
    Check the System Preferences>Other Row, for 3rd party Pref Panes.

    The chances that it's a virus on your iPad or iPhone is very slim. Who is your mail provider? it's far more likely that your address has been spoofed and it's your mail service that has been compromised not your iDevice. I know my Yahoo mail was hacked and people in my address book received spam mails that I didn't send.
    have you changed the address on your e-mail account?

    I had the same subject for a variety of emails and they all show in the same tab. Can they all see eachothers messages?! If they can how do I fix it so they can't?

    Only people who are explicitly included in the recipients list get the emails.
    Your email program is grouping the emails together for your convenience since it assumes emails with the same subject are part of the same conversation.
    Just because emails appear together on your screens does not mean other people not included in the emails sees them too.

    it is not going to my address book because a lot of these people are not in there.  it is going to people that i emailed from years ago....and it IS connected to either my me.com email or a cox.net email - these are both connected. i'll try the password change on both of these mail accounts and see if that works.  a lot of these people are getting three and four emails every day....

    I am trying to figure out how to basically set the "from" field in Mail. From what i am reading, i have to add the account in the account section. But, if you have "send as" rights to a group, there is no password. I can set everything, and i guess authenticate as myself, but i am still getting a "cant login" error on the SMTP server.
    Has anyone ever setup "Send As" to a group email address?

    Its on a hosted exchange. I do not want it to check for mail, i just need it to send out as that user.
    Example
    My email address ([email protected]) and i am part of [email protected]
    When i setup my account ([email protected]), i get all my mail. Anyone that sends mail to [email protected] , everyone in that group gets the mail in the inbox. But now i want to send out as [email protected] but i want to change the display name to show "sales" or whatever.
    So, i just need to "send as" sales
    Does that make sense?

  • Problem with Mail 2.1 to send small size email to many recipients

    I'm trying to send a broadcast email to everyone in my address book for a change of address, around 500 people - this is not spam...these peole will WANT to receive my new contact details. I got about 100 through and then now continually get error message from Mail that my message hasn't gone through and that it "the server reject email from ..." and then lists my email address.
    Is there a limit to the number outgoing emails you can send ? what is it? Per day or 24 hr period? Is there a way to raise the limit if you pay more ?
    I'd very much appreciate any help here is as I haven't found any sort of tech support phone number for Mail to call.

    If you need a RMA, you will need to contact Customer Support either via email or phone. Also, it may be a fault with the sub and not just the cable alone, anyway contact Customer Support and they will be able to assist further.

    Recently, my Apple Mail has been sending from two to six copies of email, timed to the same minute. I've taken to using Thunderbied (which I don't prefer) to avoid it. My theory is that if I can reload Lion it might cure it, but since Lion only comes as a download, I don't know how.
    I've had MacKeeper in place since before the problem, but updating it became impossible. I emailed that program and was advised to trash it, do a cold reboot and then download it again. I did, and it hasn't helped.
    Any suggestions?

    After dragging the app to the trash, you will need to clean up using something like  AppTrap, AppZapper, AppCleaner etc. The official MacKeeper uninistaller leaves advert popups still appearing on your computer.

  • IMAP Email Portlet Error accessing email with blank subject field

    I have sucessfully deployed imap portlet and added it to a page. I am able to read and compose emails. However while testing the portlet I ran into few problems:
    1. Cannot read an email from inbox if the subject field of email is blank. Only way to read this email is to first select an email that has a subject and then navigate through "next" or "previous" button to read this email.
    2. Some of the emails does not show the attachments. Some of them dooes show it. I am unable to figure why is it doing so.
    3. It takes too long to load and sometimes ends up in "portlet time out".
    Has anyone else also ran into such problems. Is there a solution to these problems.

    I analayzed my emails and figured out that email that are forwarded to me with some attachments have problems. These emails do not include the actual attachments , they only include the text part written by the sender. It will be great if this bug gets fixed.
    Secondly I increased the time out and it helped. Thanks for your suggestion.

    I am trying to send mail in Japanese using ISO-2022-JP charset. The body of the mail goes fine and is visible correctly, but am facing problems with the subject field. If I try sending any Japanese characters the subject field displays ??? in outlook.
    I have tried following options -
    MimeMessage.setSubject("\u30D5\u30C8", "iso-2022-jp");
    MimeMessage.setSubject(MimeUtility.encodeText("\u30D5\u30C8", "iso-2022-jp", "Q"));several other combinations... Any suggestions.
    PS - "\u30D5\u30C8" I tried to create the test string using Unicode characters for Japanese charset as suggested by a web-site. The actual string being used, I'm reading from a Japanese text file, read using UTF-8 encoding.

    In CRM 7.0,I need to increase the incoming email Subject Field length ,When i try to modify UI configuration,Subject fields are not enabled for configuration (Other fields in the same screen are enabled for modifications)..
    Please give your inputs whether incoming email Subject Field length  can be increased? if so,this should be done at UI level or mail form?

    Actually I can to find out views and class details in CRM 7.0 by using F2 key..
    The UI component is CRMCMP_CCS_EML and view is CRMCMP_CCS_EML/MailBody. The implementation class is ZL_CRMCMP_C_MAILBODY_IMPL. Since all the page attributes are string, There is a context class ZCL_CRMCMP_C_MAILBODY_CTXT, But no context node (Like you mentioned type CN as in *CN00, *CN01) within page attribute.
    The main issue am facing here is that couldnu2019t figure out where to start the debugging for inbound mails where the subject field is truncated. I usually process inbound mails from SOIN transaction.
    Moreover subject field can have more than 40 characters in outgoing mail, but the inbound mail subject field limited to 40 character and rest of them truncated.
    Hope you understand my area of concern and provide me your input.

  • Subject and sender is copied from prevous email on some emails

    On some emails the Subject and Sender name is from another email received at the same time. This is totally random, does not happen all the time. I have included screenshots from two emails of the most recent recevied email with this error.
    We have 4 computers and we all have the same IMAP account on every computer but this happens randomly on the computers. One may receive the cloned subject and sender while the others will not. This has happened randomly on all 4 computers. When checking on the web-mail they all appeare correctly.

    Sounds like this might be an indexing issue.
    right click on folder and select 'Properties'.
    click on 'REpair folder'
    Click on OK
    Refresh the Folder Pane by selecting another folder and then reselecting the repaired folder

    Try deleting the mail account and setting it back up again.

    I don't quite know where to post this one, but since I'm always programming only .jsps and servlets I hope someone will answer this here.
    Accented characters in subject field of our emails produced by our programmes are being replaced by nonsense like the following:
    =?ANSI_X3.4-1968?Q?
    In the body of the email I can just replace accented characters with html equivalents, no problem, but not in the subject field.
    Is there a way round this, like setting the character encoding somewhere or whatever? I use the javamail API to produce these emails - is there anything in the API for this?
    Any help would be much appreciated.

    I think e-mail only allows only ASCII characters in certain fields? I think you'd have to read the email RFC to find out the details of that.

    That's a start, but there are certain extensions to that, I think, that might atler things... Otherwise, you'd have to check thru the JavaMail API docs and see if there's an encoding setting somewhere.
