Sample dbora file for database having ASM installed

Hi
I have oracle DB10g running on redhat AS 4.
Pliz show me a sample dbora file for a database having ASM installed.
My dbora file doesn't start my dayabase and ASM instance, and i have to start them manually after rebooting the mechine

I have used this manual for installing ASM on my mechine.I have double checked everything.now the problem is certainely my dbora file.
When i configure my dbora file to start database the time mechines reboots.it doesn't work.
and it gives me that error.
But after commenting dbora file and starting database and listener and emctl manually.everything works fine all the instances are available..no problem...
I can't figure out what the problem is ,what 's wrong with my dbora file

  • How can i get sample CSV files for Demo BI Content

Hello Experts. Documentation say that there is sample CSV files for modules that come with delivered BI content. I am planning to work with the demo content which i have already installed. I then need to populate the objects with the relevant demo data that is said to be in the CSV files that come with the demo content. Please let me know from where i can get these CSV files. Good day.

    Hi Huggins,
There are sample csv data in AL11 in the work directory.  You may want to look through here to see if the csv files you require are there.
    Thanks,
    Nick.

  • Can't find init file for Database

    Hi,
I just installed 9i R2 on Redhat 7.3 and when I create a database with dbca, the db is created and up running fine. However, when I shut the db down and try to restart it, it says 'Can't find init file for Database "db_name"'. Anyone got any ideas?
    Thanks!

While connected as sysdba issue :
    CREATE PFILE FROM SPFILE;
--This creates an initSID.ora file under $ORACLE_HOME/dbs.
You can edit this file to modify any init parameters.
To have the effect this these new parameters startup the database with:
    STARTUP PFILE=$ORACLE_HOME/initSID.ora.
To create spfile with the modified values use:
    CREATE SPFIL FROM PFILE;
Once you create the SPFILE and when you start the db, SPFILE will be used.
    HTH
    Thanks

  • Sample Data Files for P Card Testing

Is there a utility available that can be used to easily create sample data files for use when testing P Card functionality? We will be using the USBank/Visa file format. Generating enough sample data is time consuming especially in the volumes we need.
    Thanks,

the plan is to cover all the training materials.. BPC420, 430,440 in next 2-3 weeks if possible. Though Immediate need is to learn planning .
Looking at SAP training support files (I have course material) or any complete case study data which I can do from scratch.. I have just been doing it for 3-4 days.. already understand the basic stuff.. Pretty comfortable with SAP ECC & BW (both technical and function stuff)..

  • Copy Orace file-system database to ASM

    Hi,
We are planning to use ASM and migrate of file-system database
How do you move/copy oracle datafiles, logfiles, controlfiles,*.dbf to ASM?
The docs said ASM does not allow OS copy commands :(
    Thanks a lot

Thanks a lot Hussein, Arnoud :) I like those docs very short/summarized and easy to understand, unlike other oracle manuals which gives you lots of choices/platforms/versions/ and confusion mixed in one.
By the way I am planning to install a new set of 64-bit EBS R12 on ASM/RAC and leave alone our EBS R12 32bit(filesytem) running. I dont like to migrate it because it so critical
    and sensitive to touch.
Just a little clarification :).....When I run EBS R12 installer (database tier side) It ask for
    home directories like: /u01/app/orace
My question is I want my database files (.dbf) to be directed to an ASM disk
How do I input it in the Rapidwiz installer? I did not see any options there to use ASM disk.
    Thanks again

  • For Users Having Trouble Installing...

If you are having trouble installing and have access to either another Mac or can Boot your old OS, try installing Pacifist from http://www.charlessoft.com/
Then pop your Leopard disc into it and open the disc using the third button on the main menu
It will scan the disc when it shows you a list of packages hit the "Verify" button at the top of the window. Then go do something for another 30-45 mins. When you get back it will show a detailed list of files missing, or that don't exist.
I am missing 124,891 files according to the report and 20,000 of my files have different checksums. I know that my disc is DOA and I recommend that if you are having that problem as well, to schedule and Appointment and get your disc exchanged.
    Hope this helps.

do you have a volume license?  or a single user license?

  • Archive files for database are generating very quickly

I could see that the archive files for my database are generating very quickly (i.e for every 2 minutes) which fast and filling up my archive file location mount point. How to troubleshoot the issue?
    Thanks,
    Sunil.

    Hi,
Archive log generation is the result of DML activity against your database. Your redo log file size seems to be very small. Increase redolog file size by at least 10 times of the current size to make a log switch happen approximately after 20 minutes.

  • Webutil to move files for database bfile

Our application (ported from Forms 6i) uses bfiles in the database as one means of storing binary files in the database. One limitation was the fact we had to create a wide-open file share for the directory that files were copied to.
Now that we are using WebUtil, it seems like the desktop no longer needs the open share, but the midtier server now does.
Can this be done in such a way that the files can get to the database server directly without resorting to file sharing on systems?

Actually, our application support blobs and bfiles, so we already do both. It's just that the bfiles wind up being local to the midtier, so we have to create a share directory on the db host, so when Forms (using webutil now) drops off the files, the database then has it local.
I was kind of hoping someone has done this and would share some code.

  • Looking for sample ANT files for building workshop webservice app outside the IDE

    Hi,
I am currently planning to use Workshop for implementing a webservice application.
I am looking for any sample ANT files that would enable me to build and deploy
both the webservice EAR and the client JAR outside the IDE.
    Thanks,
    Bao Nguyen

    Hi Raj,
Yup, I did see that sample file. However, it only demontrate how to build an
EAR file. I am also looking for samples of how to generate the client JAR (using
proxy to gain access to the webservice) and also how to deploy the web service
    EAR file to the server.
I tried to use the ANT tag "clientgen" referencing the generated EAR file. It
complainted of the missing WAR file. I checked the content of the EAR file and
    found no WAR file generated.
I am also looking for a better way of accessing the webservice more generically
instead of going through the proxy which is quite coupled to a specific app server.
    Please provide examples.
    Regards,
    Bao Nguyen

    Hi,
I am currently planning to use Workshop for implementing a webserviceapplication.
I am looking for any sample ANT files that would enable me to buildand
    deploy
both the webservice EAR and the client JAR outside the IDE.
    Thanks,

  • Sample make file for OS-X

I've got a sample jni program for OS-X, but it comes with a pbproj file that doesn't work on xcode and would like to convert it to a makefile. However, ptomake doesn't convert this file. I would rather work with make files as I can extend them to what I want the build process to do, but need a basic jni makefile template to work from.
