Samsung GS2 tinted camera image issue (Adobe AIR AS3)
Hi I am having problem with accessing my Samsung Galaxy 2 camera through using flash.media.Camera.
To allow my QR add-on to function, I need to be able to access the camera through flash.media.Camera.
However for some reason, I am getting weird tinted picture on my screen. It might have something to do with the "Amoled" display or dual-core processor.
If anyone has come across this before please give me some guidance!

It appears that your log looks ok. Could you try uninstalling your application, verifying that the folder was removed from Program Files, then reinstalling?

Drag and Drop Image in Adobe Air
Is there a problem with the 'Drag Image' proxy, that is present in the DragManager class' doDrag method? I have tried using this and it works absolutely fine with a web application, but DOES NOT work with an AIR application.

Adobe Air AS3 URLRequest Delay
Hi,
I want to make a request to read a url from my apk exported from .fla. The problem is in the first installation, then the request it takes 6 seconds. I do not know what's causing. I open the application 2nd time and request is executed in a second successful.

To reproduce the problem you need to uninstall the application and install->run again. Only on the first run is observed the problem.

Is a small txt file ( 2.55 KB ), and i make the request with a random parameter ( &rnd ) to be uniq for each request.

I noticed that Event.OPEN is executed at second 5. why ?
this is a simple script and this delay is a big problem for me. maybe it is a bug air. can someone clarify me? I struggled with this problem for several days.

Adobe AIR 15.0.0.252 does not install, get error 'Unknown error code during application install: "-24" '
We have two Identical Samsung units….one of which had Adobe Air installed three weeks ago with NO problems.
I can only assume that the issue is with AIR 15.0.0.252.
Please advise. Do you have plans to resolve this solutions soon as it is causing major problems for us provisioning content for a device.

Adobe Air HTML & JS Developing - Slow on massive Image-Tags

I want to share a problem i noticed while developing an application with adobe air, based on the HTML & JS Stack, which uses multiple image-tags at the same time. I already mailed a bug but unfortunately did not get a bug number responded to refer to hit here. This post is started because i wanted to share a simple example which exhibits the problem.

Concise problem statement: Performance Issues with massive Image-Tags (scaled)
Steps to reproduce bug:
1. Create a simple Air-Application. No need for any Air-specific library we just want the Air-Webkit to render a HTML-Page
2. Load ~130 Pictures with a dimension of approximately 1024 x 768 pixels. Render each of them as a scaled Image-Tag with the dimension 100x60 pixels.
3. Load the Page in the Air/Safari/Firefox/IE Environment (Versions: Air 2.5, Safari 5.0.2 (Win XP), FF 3.6.10, IE7)
4. Try scrolling down/left/right/up and resizing the respective stage
Results: The Air Environment performs worst among those 4. It reacts unacceptably slow while trying to resize and to scroll.
Expected results: similar performance to Webkit-Engine in Safari.
I know of one other discussion which seems to be related to a similar thing (http://forums.adobe.com/message/44913).
The Page i used to compare the Adobe-Air rendering & scroll behaviour against the behaviour of Safari, FF and IE is posted beneath (pretty long due to the excerpt of 131 pictures taken of flicker web service).

AIR for Android Camera Save Issue

Hope this gets posted and that someone has an answer. Why is it that when I build a camera in Flash CS6 AIR 3.2 the camera is lying on its side if I build it in Portrait mode ? If I build the camera in Landscape mode then the camera is fine except that the image saved to CameraRoll is lying on its side. Am I supposed to get all my standing subjects to lie on their side for the pic? This issue makes a beautiful camera completely unusable. I know that if I use the CameraUI I will be able to get this right but I needed to build a camera having features not in the CameraUI.
Is this an issue or am I being stupid here and missing something obvious ?

PaulI'm not sure if I completely understand you, but if I do, you want to check the Exif info to see how the image is oriented, then rotate it to show it how you want on the screen. Take a look at this post here: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/875157 it may help with doing what you need. It's a little tricky and works differently for iOS and Android, but not too hard to figure out. Also, in the future, you may have more luck getting some decent answers by posting in this forum: http://forums.adobe.com/community/air/development/mobile?view=discussions

When using the camera downloader in Adobe Bridge CS6 with Nikon D5200 we are unable to see previews of the photos and it is very slow to download. The issue occurs under a the users rights, but not under admin level. This is a new issue.

Lync client gets user photos by first querying the Address Book Web Query (ABWQ) service on the server, which is exposed through the Distribution List Expansion web service. The client receives
the image file and then copies it to the user's cache to avoid downloading the image each time it needs to be displayed. The attribute values returned from the query are also stored in the cached Address Book Service entry for the user. The Address Book Service
deletes all cached images every 24 hours, which means that it can take up to 24 hours for new user images to be updated in the cache on the server.
To troubleshoot your problem, please follow the steps below:
1. Navigate to
“X:\share\1-WebServices-1\ABfiles\000000000\000000000” folder. (ABS file share)
You should see some photo files in this folder as the following screenshot.
2. Delete all the files in this folder.
3. On test PC, delete local cache files.
%userprofile%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Lync\[email protected]
4. Sign-in Lync with the test account.
5. Go back to the ABS file share, check if there is any Photo file in the folder.

I've opened a bug for this issue as well. I want to ask if anyone experiencing the same issue and has found a workaround. Basically Air Runtime is picking up the wrong launch image when launching on iPhone 6. It defaults to [email protected] instead of the [email protected] iOS 8 picks the correct image but Air Runtime does not. Here is the link for the bug. If this is confirmed, this could result in rejection for all the app developers who optimized their apps for iPhone 6 . It is hard to catch this bug in release mode since the Air Runtime loads pretty fast and it occurs when you device is slow or doing something in the background. You can see it easily on iOS simulator or debug mode. We tried everything for a workaround but we failed.

When you open a new project in xcode you can look at Contents.json and see the naming conventions they use for iOS8. We grabbed the new naming convention from here. Also setting up in the application xml the UILaunchImages key works too. Please see the below example. It would be a better solution if Adobe Air refers to xml/info.plist values that the developer sets instead of hard-coded naming conventions.

I think this is a complex issue.
I have adobe air application which loads a SWF I made.
Inside this SWF I have used the "component LOADER" to load
something with "ContentPath=image.jpg" for example.
But the swf loaded in the Adobe air works, but does not load
the "ContentPath image"...
(it does load and display it when it this swf is run outside
adobe Air)
I need it to be dynamic like this, so if eventually I Include
it in the package it won't help much...
I just intend to replace an image background from this loaded
swf file!

I can't use scout because my other systems are 32 bit and it doesn't seem to be working with them.
The problem seems to come from the fullscreen mode from adobe air since in windowed mode it runs smoothly (even on a 7 years old notebook).
I even have 3 different rendering options in fullscreen and all of them are lagging (no scale, show all, exact fit). Not sure what the issue can be when even the no scale mode lags, so i'm guessing it's related to the fullscreen.interactive mode of air.
edit: Or not.
I managed to get it run smoothly by using CPU mode as renderer option for adobe air.
Not sure what the issue was with direct but i will test it some more (on the other computers as well) and will get back to you.
edit²: it only helped on one computer. The mac still has big slowdowns in fullscreen and the core2duo now has screen tearing with that option.
edit^3: I tried using the fullScreenSourceRect on the stage for hardware scaling. It seems to run smoothly. Sadly, everything is a bit blurry with it and i can't chose other rendering options (no scale or exact fit), those don't work anymore with the sourcerect.
I would like to be able to use the hardware scaling and change the aspect ratio, is that possible ? -

BryanThis issue was vexing me too, and no amount of repairing the keychain (or deleting these entries) would make it go away. Everytime I'd launch any Adobe AIR app, the problem would immediately return.
And I believe it was caused a huge speed slowdown, extra heat and overactive fan action on my mid-2010 MacBook Pro (2.66 Ghz Intel Core i7 with 8 GB of RAM, otherwise clean install of OS X 10.7.)

Flash Catalyst, Flash Builder and Adobe Air....Issues...
My problem is simple.
I have a flash catalyst project I importedc it into flash builder - whats the issue? its a web app. I need it as a air app. I don't know how to change it from a web app to an air app.

If I publish the "demo" version in Flash cat as a air app and install it, I have to resize the window? even when I set the bounds to be 800x600 it shows up on the desktop as either half that or sligtly larger. even running the swf - publishing for both web and air for testing - i have to resize the swf (unless its embeded on a page). why is this happening?
Tha main purpose here is to change the imported flas cat proj into a air app in flash builder so i can change the default chrome.
Thanks.I finally find what the problem was. It has nothing to do with either the server, neither Flash Player or Adobe Air.
The problem came from mstc window (remote desktop software). By default it was set to display 16bit colors. I might have changed it sometime to 15bit.
By setting it to 16bit, it solved the problem.
