Sansa MP3 device

I just pruchased a Sansa Fuze MP3 player. It won't work on my computer but will on my wife's Macbook. Sansa tech support says that there may be a problem with my USB port but every other device works with those ports. The Fuze icon doesn't show up on my desktop but does on the macbook. any help with this?

Could there be an issue in the player being seen
in the operating system you have in the older Mac?
There may be some kind of driver or other additional
item needed in the older computer, if not supplied by
the OS X version installed into the non-MacBook unit.
{The signature line says OS X 10.3.9, etc; perhaps
there is a driver for that older system. That may be
the thing non-compliant; since it likely is not the USB.}
Does the Sansa device you have require a different
software to work in the Mac, such as Windows Media
Player? Or "flip for mac" in order to run? I haven't
used a windows media player in a Mac for awhile,
some web sites needed that for content years ago.
I read where there isn't a new version for Mac, but
you may be able to find a source for an older WMP.
(If that would be the missing link in this issue.)
' mac os x - windows media player 9 ' - may be too new/old?

  • Have sansa mp3, Windows media player on old pc now want to move music(mp3) to ipod touch and Mac itunes can't find a way to do this

I have a Sansa mp3 which I used Windows media player to download music to.  Family made the move to Apple.  Now need to move mp3 music to itunes on Mac.  Can not find way to do this.  MP3 device does not show up when connected to Mac by USB. Please help!

In the iTunes folder there should be a folder saying "Import to iTunes". It is either in Music/Itunes or Music/Itunes/Media. Put the music you want on your iPod in this folder, start iTunes, and sync.

  • Copy music/books from a sansa mp3 to another mp3, as well as onto my MacBook Pro if it fits into the equation. Many thanks.

What happens when you connect your MP3 player to your Mac? Does it show up in finder as an external drive?
If it does you can copy those MP3 file to the Mac hard drive or to another MP3 player connected to the other USB port if it shows up in finder as another external drive.

  • ITunes wont recognize sansa mp3 player

iTunes wont recognize sansa mp3 player

iTunes only works with Apple products.
However you may find iTunes Agent helps you:

However it is Quite old so I don't know if it works with the latest iTunes.

  • Move songs to a Sansa MP3 Player

Can I move a playlist from itunes to a Sansa MP3 player? I tried to drag the songs over but it didn't work.

Not directly, no. iTunes doesn't support any players other than an iPod/iPhone. If the tracks are in a format that the Sansa can play, though, then you should be able to load them to the Sansa using whatever method the Sansa would normally use.

You will need to consult the documentation for the Sansa to learn how to get the tracks off of the player onto your computer. Once they're on the computer, either drag the tracks into the iTunes window or use the Add to Library command under the File menu.

  • Sansa MP3 issues

I just bought a Sansa SanDisk and it came in today with everything. I've been trying to install it to my computer for over an hour and it won't do anything. I tried the disk and it refuses to do anything, and the mp3 will not turn on, even when I put in a fresh battery. Should I get it fixed? I had one before and it never did this...so maybe I got a bad one?
    [Music Lover Forever]

If you're within the return period, just take it back for another one. If it won't even turn on, it's defective.
If you like my post, or solution to your issue/question, go ahead and click on the little star by my name and/or accept the post as the Solution. It makes me happy.
I'm NOT an employee of Best Buy, or Geek Squad, though I did work as an Agent for a year 5 years ago. None of my posts are to be taken as the official stance that Best Buy will take on your situation. My advice is just that, advice.
Unfortunately, that's the bad luck of any electronic, there's going to be bad Apples... wait that's a horrible pun.

  • Mp3 device not showing up in finder

    Hi Anyone.
I have recently converted over to MAC. Really happy so far. Everything that i used on my PC has come over fine cameras etc. But i have a Samsung mp3 player. I know that itunes does not use anything other than ipod so i was hoping to just drag stuff into the my samsung. When i plugged it in nothing would happen, my mp3 player would say it is connected and charging but the mac would not say anything. Being a novice i stubbled into System profiler, it names my Mp3 player as being in a usb port. So my mac is showing up in system profiler but no where else eg finder. I would really like to no what to do next. I would like to keep using this Mp3 player for a little while longer and dont want to have to buy another one just yet. Oh and another thing. My friend came round with his cheap as Mp3 player and it worked fine, it showed up in desktop and i could see all his songs and photos and stuff.
    PLEASE HELP ME!!!!
    Thanks in advance

  • Sansa m240 mp3 on itunes can't sync??????

Another newby question...When I have iTunes open and attach my sansa mp3 I can't figure out how to sync my playlist my iMac doesn't seem to recognize it??? What am I doing wrong? My 13 year old daughter says Imac will only play ipods....is this true??

The Macs will sync with a lot of cellphones and MP3-players other than iPods using special software - however SanDisk has not supplied any software to make the Sansa players work on Macs - and as you see on the box they are Windows only.

  • MTP Device Issue When trying to Connect my 5250 to...

    Hi All,
I don't know what to try anymore. My phone just cannot connect to PC suite via USB cable. The bubble MTP device detected is popping up all the time and the connection is refreshed constantly so the devices cannot really connect.
I read articles about this issue for 5800 and it was resolved by deleting certain folders in the phone but my phone just don't have these folders.
    Please assist!
    Happy Holidays!

    Hi
Try following the steps below.  I had the same problem a while back with my Nokia and gave up trying.  I recently tried to sync my Sansa MP3 in MTP mode and had the same problem.  Went to the Sandisk site and searched on MTP and they had the fix below.  MP3 player was fixed and then, out of curiosity, I tried my Nokia and it also worked.
MTP Device Cannot Start code 10" error message
I get an "MTP Device Cannot Start, error code 10" error message when I connect my Sansa player to a PC running Windows XP.  What can I do?
    1. Make sure you are logged in as an administrator
    2. If connected, disconnect your player from the PC
    3. Open your command prompt, click Start select Run
    4. Type cmd  then press Enter
    5. Type the following after the prompt: Net localgroup Administrators local service /add then press Enter
NOTE: A "The command completed successfully" message should appear.
    6. Close the command prompt and reconnect the Sansa player.

  • MP3 player is not an iPod- help needed

I've got an iTunes gift card and would just like to get a few tunes and use my existing setup. I like Windows Media Player and I have a Sansa mp3 player. I can't play my iTunes music with Windows Media Player and I can't sync my mp3 player with iTunes. Can anyone provide help?

You can't use iTunes purchases on anything other than an iPod or an iTunes compatible phone or convert them to another format because of the DRM (Digital Rights Management) copy protection. However if you burn it to an audio CD you can import it back as MP3. You'll be able to use this version of the track on other devices or software.

  • MP3 and Memory Stick

I am trying to convert my Library music to MP3 and load it on a memory stick/flash drive to be able to carry it and play the music on MP3 devices. I believe I understand that I must make a new Play List. Go to preferences and change Import Settings to MD3 but I cannot figure how to download to a flash drive. This seems to be for burning a CD. I can be totally wrong with this process for I do not understand how to choose the songs I want from the present I Tunes Library. I would like to change my existing music Library to a new playlist in MP3 and save all on the stick.
Any assistance with the process would be appreciated.

Hey. It seems you got the import settings switched over to .MP3, so what you need to do now is right click on the songs you want to convert to MP3 and select the "Create MP3 Version" option. This will cause it to create a duplicate version on each song you select that is in MP3 format. (You can choose whether or not you want to delete the original .m4a file.) After you have converted the songs you want to mp3 format, you can just drag the song from within iTunes to a folder on the flash drive and it will copy the song to the new location.

  • Hello, Can anyone tell me...if I purchase a music album from the iTunes Music Store, can I download these onto an ordinary mp3 Player, or does it have to have the Apple OS system , i.e. the ipod?

    Hello,
Can anyone tell me....am I able to download music purchased from iTunes store onto a non-apple mp3 device, OR NOT?
I am relatively new to Apple , so am fairly new to the system!
    Thanks!

You can, but you will have to create a new version of the songs that you download from the store (they will be in .m4a format from the store which your MP3 player won't support).
After downloading a song, go into iTunes > Preferences (command-comma) and on the General tab click the 'Import Settings' button and on the next screen change the 'import using' to 'MP3 encoder' (or one of the other options if your MP3 player supports it). To create a MP3 version of your downloaded song(s), select/highlight them in the Music part of your iTunes library, control-click, and on the popup select 'create MP3 version' (the 'MP3' will change depending upon what you've selected as the type on 'import settings' options).
Creating a different version of songs : iTunes: How to convert a song to a different file format - Apple Support
You should then be able to copy the music to your MP3 player in the same way as you normally do.

  • Question about mp3 file stor

i just bought a creative gb zen nano plus. just wondering if i take it over my friends house to get a 700mb .avi file do i have to install the software on his computer or will it show up as a jump or flash dri've.he all has software on his computer for a sansa mp3 player & his phone and says he dont want to install any more software which i understand. thanks in advance

That will depend on what type of OS he is currently using. If it's Windows 2000 and higher, you don't need to install any driver to work with the player.
