SAP AII 4.0 Auto ID cockpit

Hello all,
Please tell me all the steps that I would need to enable the web-based access of SAP AII. Is there any additional component that will be required to do this or once SAP AII is installed, this can be directly achieved?
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Yogesh Bhatia

Hi Yogesh,
In order to get the Auto ID cockpit web URL, open your browser and test the following url
[http://<yourserver>:<yourHTTP>/webdynpro/dispatcher/sap.com/ainsodesktop/DesktopApp]
To get the guide check for SAP Note 867167 and check for the attachment "AII400_JavaInstallation.pdf" at the end of the note.
The last page of this installation shows creation of the Auto ID Web URL.

  • Cockpit doesnu0092t work (SAP AII 4.0) - Error in JCO connection

    Hi all,
After some days working with the "Cockpit" in AII 4.0, today we can not access to it and we don’t know why.
When we execute the transaction “/AIN/DTUIURL - Auto-ID Cockpit”, we do logon and after that it appears the error:
"Failed to process the request. Please contact your system administrator.” Pressing on “Show Details”, in “Error stacktrace” we can see the following:
"com.sap.tc.webdynpro.services.exceptions.TypeNotFoundException: type com.sap.ain.model.utility.types.Syuname could not be loaded: com.sap.dictionary.runtime.DdException: TypeBroker failed to access SLD: Error while obtaining JCO connection."
In fact, we have the same problem (an error in JCO connection) when IDOCs try to be sent from R3 to AII or vice versa. We can see in transaction sxmb_moni of XI system this error.
Does anybody know where the problem could be?
    Thanks in advance,
    Xavier

    Hi,
Thank you for this question. What you are reporting looks to me like a bug. The channel for such questions is the Service Marketplace http://service.sap.com/. Please post it there.

  • AII 4.0 - Error "URL must have a host part" with Auto-ID Cockpit

    Hello Everyone,
I'm new to AII and i'm just setting up the Auto-ID Cockpit. In the IMG, i defined the URL by "Assign Auto-ID Cockpit URL" like "http://xxxyy:50100/webdynpro/dispatcher/sap.com/ainsodesktop/DesktopApp".
By calling the Auto-ID Cockpit by the Transaction "/AIN/DTUIURL - Auto-ID Cockpit", i'm getting the following error: "com.sap.lcr.api.cimclient.CIMClientException: java.net.MalformedURLException: URL must have a host part"
What did i do wrong with my URL? I tried to switch xxxyy with the IP-adresse, didn't work. What exactly is this Host-Part. Does anyone know this problem? Before fixing this, i cannot access my Auto-ID Cockpit.
Thank you very much. Kind regards.
    Sebastian

It may be cause the url provided is not a fully qualified url. e.g.
the AII system's name may be "iwdfvm2160" but the fully qualified name will be something like "iwdfvm2160.wdf.sap.com" this information you can get either by seeing the entries maintained for your Java Webserver or by simply asking your Administrator..:)...
Try using the fully qualified host name and let know if it works

  • SAP AII (Auto ID Infrastructure) - Licence.

    Hello ,
We are on ECC 6.0. We want to install SAP AII(Auto ID Infrastructure).Does SAP AII is a component content in ECC 6.0 Licence agreement or should we go for separate licence for SAP AII.
    Any Advice.
    Thanks
    Mahendra

Hi Mahendra, SAP Auto-ID Infrastructure is not part of SAP ECC 6.0 installations. Please contact your (partner) account manager to license it separately. Regards, Petra

  • SAP AII (Auto-ID Infrastructure) to  BizTalk RFID  scenario

    Hi Everyone,
did some one work on this type of project ....
This project is <b>to develop a connector between SAP AII (Auto-ID Infrastructure) and BizTalk RFID for handling RFID related activities.</b>
    Quick response would be appreaciated.....
    Cheers,
    Raghavesh

    Hi Raghavesh,
If you want to use a Connector to communicate between Biztalk and SAP AII..you can use .Net connector available.
The other way is SAP AII uses XI for Communication...so you can use webservices between Biztalk and XI. The below document should be helpful
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/7521a237-0701-0010-499b-b3285b789c0d
Use SOAP adapter for  BIZTALK .
Use  plainHttp adapter for XI .

  • EPC Searching/Auto-ID Cockpit-Like Functionality

I basically need to programatically do the same thing the Auto-ID cockpit does with regards to searching for EPC observation data using an EPC HEX value as the search criterion.  To make a long story short, the idea would be to call the Auto-ID infrastructure system programatically, passing the EPC HEX value and getting the associated data for that EPC in return.  Does anybody have any suggestions on the best way to go about this?  I know the functionality is there (somewhere) since the Auto-ID Cockpit is doing the same thing- i just can't find any documentation on it.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Hi Michal,
We did the configuration for the Jco Connection as per installation guide. We got Green LED for both the Jco connections. But when we test the Jco connections using test button, we get an error msg
    " <b>com.sap.mw.jco.JCO$Exception: (102) JCO_ERROR_COMMUNICATION: JCO.Client not connected in repository call</b> "
Also, the port for Content Administrator accrding to the installation guide is HTTP port.
    http://<YOUR SERVER>:<b><HTTP PORT></b>/webdynpro/dispatcher/sap.com/tcwdtools/Explorer
Can you pls clarify this also.
    Expecting your reply.
P.S: We are able to launch the SLD using the "Start assigned SLD" button in Content Administrator. But, if we use SLDCHECK from  AII server, we get an error msg RFC connections not maintained properly. Is this a problem?
    Thanks,

  • Can we transfer customer master from ECC to SAP AII

    Hi Experts,
We need to transfer the customer master data from ECC to SAP AII ( Auto-id system )  through XI system. There seems to be no std XI content for doing this ( there is std content for sending material master ). I have found out an idoc type BUPAFS_FS_CREATE_FRM_DATA201 in both ECC and SAP AII system. I think I can use this idoc for transferring the customer master. But how do i triggere this idoc whenever the cusotmer is created or chnaged?? ( like for MM we have BD10 transaction to do this )
    thanks
    sankar

    Hello,
I do not get what is the sending message type and what is  the receiving message type.
The MaterialIn Message Type in AII is used when you do replicate material master data from ERP to AII.
In ERP You sent IDOC Matmas01 or AINMatmas ( I am not exactly sure about the name, but it is contained in the configuration guide for flex delivery scenario.
When in this replication the gtin field is not populated.
    Check the following:
open master data -> product in AII and check if you do have a table containing UOM and GTIN displayed for existing product or that you can create your own product and defining UOM and gtin for that.
If this is not possible, you have not maintained the relevant set type and product configuration in AII. This is stated in config guide again.
    Michael
Now I will be  off  for two weeks with no access to internet. Hope that helps.

  • How to view the PML mesages in SAP AII ?

    Hi Experts,
    I am new SAP AII.
I want to view the PML Messages in SAP AII sent from the Edge management software. How can i do that ?
    Thanks,
    Arkesh

    Hello Arkesh,
You will not be able to see the PML as sent from the Edge Management Software in SAP AII.
Edge Management Software uses a SAP AII service (sicf) called AIN to post XML based PML messages to SAP AII.
This AIN service is an event handler for PML messages and contain the parser for parsing the PML messages. So there is no place in SAP AII where directly this PML is stored. Instead at first parsed,
PML attributes (EPC code, Location, Command, etc) are stored in SAP AII tables.
And if you want to see what error or data might be associated with that PML message you can check SAP AII log using transaction slg1. Here all PML/ALE messages to SAP AII will be  having category AIN.
So if want to check what PML is coming from Edge, please check the Edge Software itself (outbound interface whatever it may be) or the log in SAP AII.
If you wanna check how PML is structured in SAP AII, look into SAP Auto Id Test Tool
(SAP Easy Acccess Screen -> SAP Auto ID Infrastructure --> Tools --> Auto ID Test Tool)
In Auto ID Test Tool in top left select --> PML
    Input attributes.
    Steps:
Select Tags Tab on main part of screen. Say generate tags
On right top corner --> select Preview button.
This will give you the exact PML as required by SAP AII.
Note: Generate tags step mentioned above needs some SAP AII configurations. Provided already done, you will be able to generate tag numbers to be sent to SAP AII.

  • Application Log in SAP AII

The following log <b>Backend integrated documents are not supported</b> is found while trying to give “<b>complete document for free pack</b>” in exception handling (AUTO-ID COCKPIT).
Can anyone say what could be the reason for the specified log?

    Hi Hari,
System logs activities in SAP GTS system for various objects, including document blocks in SAP Compliance Management for the customs documents that are replicates of logistics documents from the feeder system and similar such data is also recorded by the system for references at a latter stage for other areas as well. These are known as application logs. For a quick reference, you can use Tcode SLG1 and look at the various things it has. I hope this is what you asked for. For more information, please feel free to ask and of course keep posting.

  • RFID - SAP AII

    Hi all,
Need some infomation on SAP AII and also how to relate RFID with SAP AII and also SAP Data base,
How the data will be filtered in SAP AII?
If anyone knows regarding this let me know
    Thanks,
    -Teena.

    Hi Teena,
    <b>SAP RFID Solution Package</b>
The SAP RFID solution package provides a complete auto-ID middleware solution connecting RFID data directly from auto-ID data capture sources, such as RFID readers and device controllers, and integrates the data directly into enterprise applications . It converts raw RFID data into business process information by making the associations from key business rules, master data, and transactions to raw RFID data .
    <b>SAP Auto-ID Infrastructure</b>
Auto-ID Infrastructure is compatible with SAP R/3 4.6C or greater, and it also has adapters for SAP Warehouse Management, SAP Business Information Warehouse, SAP Supply Chain Event Management, SAP Advanced Planning and Optimization, and all SAP NetWeaver components.
Auto-ID Infrastructure is designed to synchronize EPC and RFID information into your ERP systems by providing a complete, multidimensional data model of RFID-enabled assets, including:
    <b>1.EPC number
    2.Asset location
    3.Status
    4.Last RFID read point
    5.Handling unit number
6.Packing hierarchy association (such as item, item-to-case, or case-to-pallet)</b>
It then maps this data to your SAP R/3 system via association to handling units (HUs). Handling unit headers include a standards-based HU number, weight, volume, and dimensions. HU content includes material number, quantity, unit of measure, batch number, plant number and location, and stock category (such as consignment), as well as serial number and inspection lot data.
These HUs are then associated with EPC numbers and are integrated into the appropriate transaction for processes such as production orders, transfer orders, sales orders, delivery (ASNs) and receipt, shipment, picking and packing, and inventory move and packing operations.
Because it is built on SAP Web Application Server, Auto-ID Infrastructure supports multiple communication interfaces (HTTP, SOAP, WSDL, SOCKET/ TCPIP), as well as mobile interfaces to PocketPC 2003 and Mobile Linux (Sharp).
<b>It runs on Windows (XP, 2000, NT), Unix, and Linux, and supports Oracle, SAP DB, DB2, and Microsoft SQL Server.</b>This should answer your query.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Pawan P.Khilari

  • Relations between SAP AII, ONS, PML and Savant???

The EPCGlobal provides a standard EPC-Network containing the EPC-Code and infrastruture-components like the RFID-Tag and -Reader, the ONS-Server, the PML-Server and a RFID-Middleware called Savant.
On the one hand I found a couple of articles where the SAP Auto-Id Infrastructure (SAP AII) is said to be a "RFID-Middleware". On the other hand I found a lot of presentation sheets with illustrations of the SAP AII architecture where the SAP AII is connected to Savant by the device controller and to the ONS/PML Servers by SAP XI.
Can anybody inform me about the relationship between the SAP AII, the ONS/PML Servers and Savant? Is the SAP AII a substitute for Savant? Which component of the SAP Auto-ID Infrastructure asks the ONS-Server for the URL to a PML Server where further information about an object which is identified by the EPC code are located? Are product information stored on a PML-Server anyway? Or are information only stored in the ERP-Backendsystem?
    Thank you for your reply.

    hi.Dirk
1)SAP AII is a "RFID-Middleware", but mostly it is a RFID Middleware for business process. It focus on business more than RFID readers. So it is not a RFID Reader manager(Device connector, or something like that)
2)Savant is a specification or a product release by EPC global. You can download the savant specification on EPC global .
    http://www.epcglobalinc.org/about/AutoID_Archive/documents/6_auto_id_savant-1_0.pdf
Savant is also a product, many company IBM, SUN make their RFID Middleware follow the EPC savant specification. And also EPC has a RFID-Middleware call savant.
Savant is design to manager RFID readers, filter RFID tag information, and log events.
3)The relation between AII and savant is they are on the diferrent layer of RFID Middleware, they should be work together.
4)ONS is another EPC RFID issue, it is design to record RFID tag data. On EPC's idea, all the data about RFID tag should be record on ONS server. I do not know if it will come true in the future.
    5) On SAP solution, Most of the data is still stored in SAP backend-system(R3,SCM,BW......), and information about RFID, e.g. RFID tag, RFID device, tag event is stored in SAP AII. And you can use BW in AII, if mass data is generated.
    6) PML is just a RFID XML.
    Regards
    Sheng
