SAP ALE connection with EDI sub-system

We are using the SAP ALE functionality to connect to the EDI sub-system, rather than the traditional way (creating IDoc flat files). For this setup also, the RFC type is TCP/IP type. But I'm not sure of the various other details to complete the setup. Rather I guess, I don't know which is the correct program to run on the Application Server.
Look at the error text below, and tell me if this is not working because I cannot connect to the program on the application sever?

How do I integrate SAP R/3 with an external system?

Hi there!
I've run into a problem integrating SAP R/3 with an external system. The external system provides a webservice, and when I try to get WSDL file from that service, I am getting asked of authorization and when I authorize, I get error 500. The access is anonymous, as I'm being told. When I try to get just a response, server requests authorization. No matter what login and password I supply, I always get error 401 saying I'm not authorized.
I think the ICF is somewhat misconfigured, but how do I configure it? Or maybe there's a problem with requests I send. I don't know.

IDOc error while trying to establish connection with R/3 system

Hi Experts,
I am working with BI 7.0 system. When I try to create the R/3 system (using RSA1) connection, I am getting following error message.
Diagnosis
    Incorrect IDoc type RSSEND in the ALE defintion of the source system.
System Response
    Error when sending data to BI.
Procedure
    Enter IDoc type ZSLA007 .
I created RSRQST, RSINFO and RSSEND message types (BD64) in R/3 and replicated in BI. Can you please let me know where I'm going wrong?

Hello,
you have to give the R/3 system name/ID etc and user name/password to connect to and from R/3 system.
also you have to maintain RFC destination to communicate to and from R/3 system to BI system. Then it will login to the R/3 system and will comeback to BI and start transferring matadata and BI contents from R/3.
Choose without dialog option when it ask you otherwise it will ask you every time it will transfer new object.

SAP B1 Integration with third party system

Dear all,
i want to connect some parts of SAP Business One with my Webinterface. I have installed the Netweaver integration tool (B1i). Does somebody know if I can use this tool to connect SAP B1 also to another system then only R/3. And if yes how can I create the new langscape?

thanks a lot. I also saw your documentation you wrote about the integration tool in January 2006. Technicle it should be possible for my system, but I need to test it...
I have now one important license-question:
1) The integration tool is free if I have a SAP B1 license, isn't it?
2) Lets say 10 of my employees enter master data in 5 different companies of my webinterface. Each employee has his own user account on my webinterface. Now the entered data in the different databases (companies) are sent to SAP B1 thru the integration tool and master data are created in SAP B1 in 5 different Databases (companies). NOBODY is logged in SAP B1 directly. All Data are comming thru the integration tool, but from different Webinterface-User and for different Databases. How many licenses in that case I would need for SAP Business One? Just one for the integration tool as the only direct-user of SAP B1 in that case, or 10 for the different accounts on my webinterface from which the data are comming from?

SAP company connection with DI only

Perhaps the best way would be, if you are using .NET, to use app.config file, store user names/password in it. The first time your add-on is installed, pop off the dialog asking for SAP user name and password (even DB username and password if don't want to use .UseTrusted = true). Subsequent Add-On startups would not need those pop-ups because Add-on would rather pick it up from app.config file.
Use System.Configuration.ConfigurationSettings.AppSettings[] to pull off encrypted values, then decrypt it using any of the .NET libraries e.g. Symmetric.Provider.TripleDES before establishing connection with DI.

!. When you build java application in NetBeans (standard one) you just click 'Build' or 'Clean and Build' and your jar file is waiting for you inside 'dist' directory of your project
2. Connecting MIDP application to the server running PHP scripts is not a problem, just connect using simple HTTP with GET or POST and you are done, google on it!
3. You can connect to the database using some kind of PHP/JSP/ASP or whatever application you want and then using method from point 2 to send and retrive values, you can do it with web services as well, possibilities are endless

Zens - connectivity with car audio systems

Hi - got an odd, obscure question. I have an Audi fitted with the so-called 'Audi Music Interface'. As well as the ubiquitous Ipod connector, this one comes with a mini-USB port to which I have successfully connected a Zen X-fi 32GB and a 2GB Samsung YP-K3. However, when I try to connect my 4GB Zen V+ I get an 'unable to connect' message from the Audi.
The music on all three is from the same source (same file formats etc) so what can be thedifference between the two Zens that prevents one of them from being recognised by the unit's I have usedWMP to transfer the music to all threeMP3 players.
Another oddity - while I'm at it - is that the X-fi doesn't like being undocked from the car and will frequently lock up and require a reset. It will resume working without a problem if left connected iin place.
Any ideas anyone

ESR connectivity with third party systems

As given in the documents related to PI 7.1. Services from SAP CE and SAP PI can be configured into ESR. Is it possible to configure a webservice hosted by third party into ESR and any guidlines present for the same. Any pointers will be helpful.

Ok, i think that should be no problem, it may seem confusing but in fact the ESR is just a kind of Design Repository where Service Definitions without any context to a concret system are stored.
The Service Registry (which i think you are looking for) is another thing, you can publish Service Defintions also
from the ESR or the Integration Directory into the Service Registry, but i don't think that is necessary in the usage you like to achieve.
You can do that "directly" by publishing it either with the UDDI Api or on the web interface of the service registry
which lays under the url <host>:<port>/sr (see tab publish) or this blog:

SAP MDM Connection with WebDynpro Java

Hi,
I am working with SAP WebDynpro Java (UI) and SAP MDM (Database). I had added the respective jars-
a) I want to test whether I am able to make a connection to the MDM server. Let me know input parameters (sample source code required) which I need to pass from SAP WebDynpro Java (UI) to make a successful connection to MDM (DB). Please let me know this in details.
b) After making connection to MDM, I need to write a query where I need to pass Lot No1 & Lot No2 from WebDynpro Java (UI) & check in a MDM table numbers of records existing and later display the corresponding records details (sample source code required) in the screen.

SAP BOBJ connection with SQL server 2008

HI Gurus
I want to install bobj server on a server that already have SQL server 2008 installed on it, I have few confusions as this is my first time installation, I hope you can help me.
1. Since SQL server is installed on the same machine where I have to install bobj, do I need to create an ODBC connection. Note that O/s is windows server 2008.
2. What kind of other softwares or tools do I need to istall on the server to connect bobj server to sql server in order to crate universe on sql database, for example, Microsoft IIS and ASP.NET, .NET frame work etc etc or are these installed by default automatically when sql server or bobj server installed on the machine.
3. is there any checklist I need to go through before I start with the installation of bobj server.
4. Last but not the least but very important, does anyone has step by step guid with screen shot to thjis installation connectivity.

There's a reason why they are there and why they are so big.
All I can say that it is not as easy as doubleclicking a "setup.exe", pres "next", "next" and "finish".
