SAP- JDBC(synch)- SAP scenario

Hi All,
I have a requirement in which user runs Report in SAP which initiates a PI scenario. This PI scenario runs a select query on external Oracle database and returns the data back to SAP to display as the report output on screen. This report needs real time data.
How should be my approach to design the PI scenario?
Here on database side I can use JDBC receiver synchronous adaptor but on SAP side which channel should I use? Will proxies help? If yes then will it be server/client proxies?
Thanks in Advance.
Regards,
Atul

Hi Atul,
>Here on database side I can use JDBC receiver synchronous adaptor but on SAP side which channel should I use?
ABAP proxy or RFC support synchronous scenarios
>Will proxies help?
Yes
>If yes then will it be server/client proxies?
Client proxies

  • RFC to Jdbc Synch Scenario

    Hi,
I have a scenario like RFC to JDBC synch scenario, so what would be the QOS for sending( RFC) communication channel and as well as JDBC communicaiton channel.
    Thanks n Advance.,
    Xeon

    Hi,
Neither the Sender RFC adapter nir the Receiver JDBC adapter provide the option to select the QOS.
In your case if the report triggering the call to XI is making a Synch Call then the QOS in the SOAP header will be BE. If the Inbound Interface for the Receiver JDBC adapter is also a Synchronous Interface the QOS is taken as BE for the Receiver JDBC adapter.
You need not manually change the QOS anywhere as long as you are using Synch message interfaces.

  • SAP Scenario Testing

I understand that  SAP scenario are tested in Mercury software, any possible link or a website where i can find info on how to use mercury testing software for SAP

    Hello,
Mercury is a software which is only used to record and execute your test scenarios. Mercury will not interact with SAP and test it automatically. The test steps should be defined in Mercury manually and the test results should also be recorded then you may be able to execute.
The test results, time, process areas ...etc can be tracked by this.

  • File - to - JDBC- to - File  Scenario using Stored Procedure

    Hi,
I want to do File - to - JDBC - to - File  scenario, because I'm getting data in a file format and that data i want to load in a database. Database level i have a stored procedure. if any exceptions. my stored procedure will give the Response. so, now i want to store that resposne in a file..
for this. what are the steps we have to use. is this scenario will comes in Synch ronous or Asynchronous  ? and  I have searched the web blogs also. al the blogs are related to Http or Soap  with JDBC . so, please give me some input  help about this...
how many data types we have to create... any body having step step procedure for this...
    regards
    Jain

    Hi,
You will need a BPM in your design as Sender File adapter does not support Synchronous messaging. Refer my answer in this thread (page 2) and have your design accordingly....instead of RFC you will have a file adapter as the ultimate receiver.
    Re: BPM FILE--> JDBC--> RFC
Just take care of below things:
    1) JDBC message format is as per the guidelines
[Message format for sending req to JDBC|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/2e/96fd3f2d14e869e10000000a155106/content.htm]
    2) check for the format of your source and target file format (if it is a Flat-file with a xml structure that XI can parse then no need of FCC but if it is a CSV file then you will need FCC)

    Hi,
I think the problem is with namespace....for IDOC the namespace will be "urn:sap-com:document:sap:idoc:messages"...but in your case it is different.....i.e http:....etc.....please check whether you 've used the same IDOC withe above mentioned namespace in all the configuration objects like interface determination, receiveragreement etc.....

How XI will pick up data from IDoc?
How XI will Convert data to JDBC and UPDATE in Oracle Database?

  • JDBC to IDOC Scenario - select data in jdbc based on multiple conditions

    Hello
I have a JDBC to IDOC Scenario. I have to select the records in JDBC based on different conditions each time. For example I have to select based on company code '1000' and Employee claasification 'E1' and date range. After I post these records in SAP again I want to select other records for some other company code '2000' and different business area and different dates. Basically I want to extract data multiple times based on different conditions.
    Hiow do I achieve this?
Another question is in the JDBC to IDOC scenario since the sender adapter is JDBC and the sender adapter polls depending on the duration of time ( say 60 secs ) in the adapter once after I extract the data based on a condition how do I control in such a way that the same data is not extracted again.
    Thanks
    Naga

    Hi Naga,
I have to select the records in JDBC based on different conditions each time. For example I have to select based on company code '1000' and Employee claasification 'E1' and date range. After I post these records in SAP again I want to select other records for some other company code '2000' and different business area and different dates. Basically I want to extract data multiple times based on different conditions.
    -->
Such requirements cant be handle through select query of the sender...but you can handle this in the message mapping area.....you can fire a select query in the database to pick up records in a batch of 10K (do not keep any condition on this except for sorting). After the records come into PI you can send the message to your target based on the unique combination of "Company code+ Employee clasification + date range" handling this in the message mapping.
Another question is in the JDBC to IDOC scenario since the sender adapter is JDBC and the sender adapter polls depending on the duration of time ( say 60 secs ) in the adapter once after I extract the data based on a condition how do I control in such a way that the same data is not extracted again.
You can use the N--> C logic
The data records that you pick have a corresponding control table i assume. There should be a field STATUS where the initial status of record should be N.
After you pick the records this status should be made C so that only those records present in the database with status = N are picked up.
Mention the condition Status = N in the select query.
    Thanks

    Hi Michal,
I am trying to run JDBC to IDoc scenario and somehow my mapping is not getting executed and because of that at receiver side IDoc is not getting LIFNR value which should come from  Database table and as a result i am getting error 51 on posting the IDoc...
Mr Reddy suggested me to go through your blog i.e

After going through this blog i figured out that when i am trying to check the mapping as per way mentioned in the blog i am receiving the error "java.lang.NullPointerException"..But i am getting this error even for those scenarios also which are working fine on checking the mapping suggested by you.
    Can you suggest something...

  • Database error for JDBC to Proxy Scenario

    Hello SAP PI Gurus,
I am having a JDBC to Proxy Scenario .And the interface is running at 10 min of duration.
However, my other interface are running fine with the same details.
But for this interface, it giving the belwo error :
Database-level error reported by JDBC driver
    while executing statement 'call proc_dtdc_prod_summary'.
The JDBC driver returned the following error message: '
    com.mysql.jdbc.exceptions.MySQLSyntaxErrorException: Table
    'dtdc_prod_summary_temp' already exists'. For details,
    contact your database server vendor.
So increased the time from 10 min to 20 min to 30 min. But the erro remians.
So pls look into this and give your suggestion.
    Regards,
    Ravi

    Hi Ravi,
Please check execution of your stored procedure is resulting with creation of Table : dtdc_prod_summary_temp.
Modify your stored procedure to just fetch records or insert records in the existing table. Or change the code to Create a table 'dtdc_prod_summary_temp only if it doesn't exits in the Table data base.

  • Synch SOAP scenario - access request data as part of response mapping?

    Hello experts,
I have a synch SOAP scenario which is working but I want to improve the error handling.
Under normal situation I send the SOAP request and the remote web service responds with a given message structure which includes my invoice number as a key field. I then create an IDOC with this number and processing is great.
However, sometimes there is an error response from the web service which follows a different message structure and does not include the invoice number :-(
There could be many reasons for this error such as a field was missing or wrong format or even we ran out of prepaid web service calls (this is to get a government approval of invoice which we pay for in groups of approvals).
When they respond with an error I would like to send this information in IDOC to SAP, but I have no invoice number to tie the response to. Therefore the information is kind of useless in ERP. Is there a way in PI for a response message to reference the synchronous request data we sent to the web service in the first place?
    Many thanks for your ideas,
    -Aaron

    Hi Aaron,
Also you can define static variables Sharing data between message mapping in PI 7.1
About Mark suggestion you have an interesting Adarsh Dhingra's blog here Sharing data between two message mappings through Dynamic Configuration
I think the better way is to use the Harish approximation because is the solution more standard.
    Regards.

    Hi ,
Sorry for pointing you the thread.
I have created the IR as it is in File RFC File Scenario, but I have created Abs Syn Message Interface for JDBC request and Response.
I have two Abs sync Message Interface and two mapping programs, namely
    Source Interface:
    Abs Sync Message Interface
       File Request
       File Response
    Target Interface:
    Abs Sync Message Interface
      JDBC Request
      JDBC Response
    Mapping Interface:
