Logon passwords check on change
Hi!
Our customer would like to restrict the SAP logon password for every user account.
This means they don't want to enable the following logon password for the users:
- company name
- family name
- given name
- date of birth
Is there a way to check the logon passwords on change in SAP or not?
I think I vahe to check the password on the password change (is SU01), because the first check can be done manually.
Thank you
Tamáhi,
check the code in the FM <b>SUSR_USER_SURFACE_PASSWORD</b>
you can implement that in ur code -
Logon to sap without password or auto-logon to sap(r/3 enterprise)
hi folks,
before release 6.xx it was possible to make logon to the system without using a password (generating a sap logon shortcut....), now it seems that this won't work anymore.
we also did this as the guidelines of sap (changing parameters in registry), but it did not work; we're using that all in a citrix terminalserver environment and we need that function for some kinde of touch-screen terminals, where an individual application should start(and make the logon to sap) after switching on the power on that terminal.
does anyone has an idea how we can do that that it works?
kind regards,
oliverHi Oliver,
hmmm, I couldn't find note 59804, maybe it was removed. What did it say?
The point of note 146173 was that you can store a password in a shortcut file if you really want to do that. I think this was even added for your company in the past, Mr Schweinberger was really thankful
So you're now looking for a way to create a shortcut that does not contain a password, and will also not ask for a password during login?
Single-Sign-On comes to mind, have you investigated this?
Best regards,

How to Enable password saving in SAP Logon for Windows
how to Enable password saving in SAP Logon for Windows
Even though password saving, in SAP Logon for Windows is disabled by default, this can be enabled following the steps listed below:
Open the command prompt by navigating to Start → Run and by typing “cmd”.
Go to the \SAP\FrontEnd\SAPgui directory (in Program Files), through the command prompt.
Create the necessary value in Windows registry by typing: sapshcut -register An information message will appear.
Open the registry editor, in order to access Windows registry, by navigating to Start → Run and by typing “regedit”.
Go to the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SAP\SAPShortcut\Security registry key.
Change the value data of “EnablePassword“ from 0 to 1.
Close SAP Logon and open it again, in case it was open during the whole process. -

TRIALSP11 Application server Shutdown at SAP LOGON
This is my first adventure with SAP or ABAP..
1. I installed and followed the SAPNW2004sABAPTrialSP11 install instructions.
2. The installation instructions went fine from the
/people/manfred.lutz/blog/2007/03/16/new-blog-series-abap-trial-version-for-newbies
3. SAMMMC has MSG_SERVER.exe and DISP_WORK.EXE both green when I stared the SAP Logon.
4. After I start the SAP the waiting for response shows up.
5. SAP GUI comes up with a error saying application server shutdown.
6. my disp+work.exe goes to stopped state.
7. Error message says componet is 710, version 10, return code -17, counter 1.
The Log is attached. Any help is rewarded.

Error in the configuration for sap logon tickets
Hi Forum,
I use Tcode crmd_order_bp to see the BP cockpit and the error message displays as
<b>Error in the configuration for SAP logon tickets</b>
But if I click "Yes", system displays cockpit.
How can I avoid this error.
Thanks in advance
Regards
ShridharYou will still need to configure SSO (either by logon ticket or username/password). The data source access is done using the username/password configured in the UM Config dialog box.
I can see where you're coming from with your thinking, however logon-ticket-based SSO is probably the best approach.
Cheers,
Darren. -

How to allow user to change SAP Portal password by themselves

After logoned with this user account and opened the option 'Personalize'. I only find the page allow me to customize the page layout. But I haven't find tab for changing profile and password.
Pls advise.
Thanks.
EdwardHi Edwar,
You can hide the pages from portal personalization workset. copy the workset and select the page and click on property -> select Invisible in Navigation Areas ->yes
You can find the workset under
Portal content->End user content->Standard Portal Users>Workset->Portal Personalization
If you want a custom developed application fro change password see the below blog

Problem with sap logon/bex
Hello Peoples,
I have a machine is the same with Windows Vista Home Premium, sap logon 7.10 - patch 11
Access to the SAP system is perfect, but when I try to open the Bex query designer after informing username and password I get the error of communication rfc.
Can you please tell me know how can I fix this error? or if Bex is compatible with Vista Home Premium?
Regards...Hi,
Yes,BEx is compatible with Vista Home Premium Edition.
You will get an RFC Communication Error,if the backend system is down or if you enter the language as blank(sometimes) in the SAP Logon.
Try opening other tools like WAD,RD and Analyzer and connect with backend and check whether it works or not.Try opening QD from WAD or Analyzer
This is not tool specific anyway.

Problems with SAP Logon ticket
Hi.
I am trying to send SAP Logon ticket from ECC 6.0 to the backend legacy using Soap adapter in receiver side. I get the following error in SXMB_MONI, so it looks like AF is not accepting the ticket. Can anybody tell me please, how I can identify that the ticket has been received in PI's side?

Thanks, JukkaHi.
I have had some progress. Actually Principal Propagation works well now, thanks to instructions in http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwpi711/helpdata/en/48/a9bbb97e28674be10000000a421937/frameset.htm
But I think I have now found out that the principal progation might not be a direct answer to my problem. In the end of the day I should be able to deliver UsernameToken in my soap message header. Something like this:
<wsse:Security soapenv:mustUnderstand="1" xmlns:wsse="http://docs.oasis-open.org/wss/2004/01/oasis-200401-wss-wssecurity-secext-1.0.xsd">
| <wsu:Timestamp wsu:Id="Timestamp-12134742" xmlns:wsu="http://docs.oasis-open.org/wss/2004/01/oasis-200401-wss-wssecurity-utility-1.0.xsd">
| <wsu:Created>2007-10-14T12:45:34.656Z</wsu:Created>
| <wsu:Expires>2007-10-14T12:46:34.656Z</wsu:Expires>
| </wsu:Timestamp>
| <wsse:UsernameToken wsu:Id="UsernameToken-33259721" xmlns:wsu="http://docs.oasis-open.org/wss/2004/01/oasis-200401-wss-wssecurity-utility-1.0.xsd">
| <wsse:Username>test</wsse:Username>
| <wsse:Password Type="http://docs.oasis-open.org/wss/2004/01/oasis-200401-wss-username-token-profile-1.0#PasswordText">test</wsse:Password>
| </wsse:UsernameToken>
| </wsse:Security>
I just have not found any documentation which I could utilize in Abap Proxy - PI 7.1 - Soap Receiver scenario. Just wondering should I create my own customized soap envelope and disable the Pi envelope in SOAP communication channel...
Do you know if there's any "standard way" to configure this kind of configuration?

Use of JCo destinations with SAP Logon Ticket
I would have got a precision about the use of a connection pool in a JCo destination using the SAP Logon Ticket connectivity: do i have got the same functionality around the pool connection if i use the SAP logon ticket instead of a user/password inside a JCo destination defined in the web dynpro content administrator ?
Thank in advance,
Regards,
Eric.Hello Eric,
There is only one difference in ticket and user/password authentification method:
By using a ticket
<i>For SSO specify the user to be $MYSAPSSO2$ and pass the base64 encoded ticket as as the passwd parameter.
</i>
and for user/password you are passing user and password.
So, there us no difference from connection pool management or behavior perspective.
Best regards, Maksim Rashchynski.
P.S.
Link to JCo javadoc, it can be useful:

How to display weicome message in sap logon screen?
Hello experts,
how to display message " welcome to company name" in the sap logon screen.
while typing userid and password in the same screen (right hand side ) , i want to display welcome message.
Pls give me the procedure.
Moderator message: easy to find via google, system administration, not related to ABAP development, please search for available information/documentation before asking.
locked by: Thomas Zloch on Oct 11, 2010 11:44 AMIf you want to give an error message on some processing you can raise the message in the event at selection-screen.
If you want to display information message also ,the same can be done in at selection screen
In case you want to do the processing selectively like only when the execute button is pressed, then you can do the processing based on SY-UCOMM. (value will be 'ONLI' ) -
Best practices for storing logon/password info
I'm curious what are the best practices and/or what other organizations are using to store the logon/password information that needs to be shared by several users. This could be, for example, RFC logon that is used in several interfaces; FTP logon, etc. Such information may need to be accessible to all the developers yet should be stored safely.
In my previous assignments this was usually managed by a Basis admin, but we don't have a designated admin here so it needs to be handled by developers. A suggestion has been made to store it in a Z table in SAP, but we're trying to explore other options.
Thank you.The SecureStore is a protected area only accessible via the SAP kernel functions. It is SAP standard (used by transactions such as SM59, etc) and is accessed by the system at runtime.
But if you only want these connections to be temporarily available (so, without stored logon data) then there is a guru solution you might want to consider for those access in ABAP systems.
For general password management of generic users or large numbers of them you can alternately also consider a [password-vault|http://www.google.com/#hl=de&source=hp&biw=1276&bih=599&q=password+vault&rlz=1R2ADSA_deCH392&aq=f&aqi=g3&aql=&oq=&gs_rfai=&fp=ec103d87630c3cc0] . These can however typically not be accessed at runtime.
Shall I move this to the security forum, ABAP general, NW Admin or is someone still going to get themselves Guestified here?
Cheers,
Julius
