SAP MPP

One of our clients uses the term "SAP MPP". MPP here stands for "Materials Planning and Procurement". They have asked me to prepare a training module under these broad headings:
1. MPP process
2. MPP process & tools - step by step
3. MPP process KPIs
Can someone please suggest what topics to cover and where to look for references. More than others, I am not sure about the tag of u201CMPPu201D which I havenu2019t come across so far. So what is SAP MPP and what topics or sections it covers and where to look for references? Any inputs would be appreciated.

  • View HTML file in application server in MPP

    Hi,
I have a html index file and a bunch of other files accessed by the index file in a specific directory on the SAP server. I would like to display the index file on click of button created in MPP.
How to achieve this ? Any idea ?

  • BAPI_GOODSMVT_CREATE with Custom Screens MPP

    Hi All,
I am trying to create goods issue with respective goods reservation for production.Instead of using the standard code i am going for custom one.In standard after reservation it will copy all the line items by default so we are planning to got for custom.
I created a custom mpp program and attached the bapi header and item structures to it.Here the selection for the initial screen is Production order number.
In the same screen i am planning to create a table control in the it contains material, reservation no,movement type, quantity, uom. Here i am facing an issue. In this first column of each row i want to enter the material then it should pick data from resb which contain all these fields line item wise.I did but there is duplication's and data is not populating after press enter.
Then after this i will move the header data and this table control data to bapi and need to collection the return messages from there. Please share some ideas on this.

  • Changes to existing Reports,Dictionary objects when we migrate DataBase to SAP HANA

    Hi Experts,
Can you please let me know the changes that effect to existing ABAP Dictionary objects, Reports, MPP etc... that we build by using ABAP if we migrate our underlying database to SAP HANA from any RDBMS.
                           Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Sandeep Rajanala

    Dear Sandeep Rajanala,
In general the existing ABAP code(reports, classes, module pool programs, function modules etc) runs on SAP HANA as before and the existing dictionary objects like tables, views, DDIC types and structures continues to exist and work as before after migration.
However if the existing ABAP Code relies on the technical specifics of the old database , ABAP Code changes might be necessary(which is the case for any database migration ).
    For example,
Your ABAP code uses a feature that is specific to the old database and not in the SQL standard and therefore not in Open SQL(consumed via Native SQL using EXEC SQL or ADBC interface)
You have ABAP code that relies on unspecified undocumented implementation behaviour of the old database
the above cases may need minor code changes in ABAP during HANA migration inorder to ensure that your ABAP Code runs with functional correctness after migration.
The SAP note 1785057 gives guidelines on migrating the existing ABAP Custom Code for HANA.
Additionally we have several code inspector checks to find the ABAP code that requires changes and you can find details about these check in SAP note 1912445.
In addition you can find an elaborate guide for transitioning custom ABAP code to HANA here which has a dedicated section on required and recommended adaptations during custom code migration.
You can also find the recording of the SAP Teched 2013  hands on session which focuses completely on ABAP Custom Code migration aspects for HANA here
Hope this answers your question and gives you some pointers on how you could prepare your ABAP for migrating to HANA.
Please revert back if you have further questions.
    Best Regards
    Sundar.

  • SAP Implementation Process !!!

    Hi Folks,
I need brief information about the SAP implementation process. As per the ASAP Methodology we have different phases involved in the entire implementation process from Project preparation,Blue print analysis,Realization,Final Preparation and Go Live Support.
I did not involve myself into implementation. Being a Basis consultant I would like to know what is the involvement of basis consultant in each phase in detail and what are the activities being carry out by a basis team, what would be the avg team size and what would be the duration of the project approximately. I know it depends on the project and modules being used, architecture and all. i just wanted to know the rough details for information.
I would really appreciate for any useful information.
    Regards,
    Vinod

    Hi Viond,
Please find below an elaborated details for SAP Implementaion.
The ASAP (Accelerated SAP) Roadmap provides the methodology for implementing and continuously optimizing your SAP System. It divides the implementation process into five major phases and offers detailed Project Plans to assist you (Microsoft Project format). The documentation stored at each level of the Roadmap tree structure contains recommendations on implementing your SAP System and links to helpful tools and accelerators. We use SAP Solution Manager for the same and define the steps and this information can be transformed into MPP.
The implementation of your SAP System covers the following major phases:
    Project Preparation
In this phase you plan your project and lay the foundations for successful implementation. It is at this stage that you make the strategic decisions crucial to your project:
Define your project goals and objectives
Clarify the scope of your implementation
Define your project schedule, budget plan, and implementation sequence
Establish the project organization and relevant committees and assign resources
Sizing for the SAP Servers (SAPS) Important for Basis.
    Business Blueprint
In this phase you create a blueprint using the Question & Answer database (Q&Adb) older versions and now it has been replaced by new value adds from SAP in Solution Manager, which documents your enterpriseu2019s requirements and establishes how your business processes and organizational structure are to be represented in the SAP System. You also refine the original project goals and objectives and revise the overall project schedule in this phase.  In short its As is >> To be its from from functional consultant (mapping of business process) Basis will be involved how and when backup will be taken what 3rd party/vendor will be used, how users will be handled (CUA or normal procedure).
    Realization
In this phase, you configure the requirements contained in the Business Blueprint. Baseline configuration (major scope) is followed by final configuration (remaining scope), which can consist of up to four cycles. Other key focal areas of this phase are conducting integration tests and drawing up end user documentation. Major part will be creation of transport requests and transportation to QAS system. Configuration of SAProuter, Solution manager and its various configuration
    Final Preparation
In this phase you complete your preparations, including testing, end user training, system management, and cutover activities. You also need to resolve all open issues in this phase. At this stage you need to ensure that all the prerequisites for your system to go live have been fulfilled...Final Check.
    Go Live & Support
In this phase you move from a pre-production environment to the live system. The most important elements include setting up production support, monitoring system transactions, and optimizing overall system performance.
You can also download an HTML version of the ASAP Core Roadmap 7.1 on [SAP Services Marketplace - ASAP Roadmaps and Run SAP Roadmaps|http://service.sap.com/asap] (SMP login required).
    All the best !

  • Attachment transfer from EBP V 5.0 to Backend SAP R/3

    Hi,
We are going to activate the above functionality for our Classic Scenarion of implementation. In this regard, could anybody of you answer to my below given points in order to start working upon this and if possible ,please send the step wise implementaion of the functionality i.e. Transfer of Attachments in EBP V5.
    Need to define the following:
1.How is the attachment sent to the suppliers? As a pdf document? Or an attachment in the mail?
2.How do we handle attachments to integrated suppliers?
3.What formats are applicable in the attachment? (.xls, .doc, .ppt, .mpp, other?)
4.How are attachments stored? In EBP? In SAP?
    Thanks in advance.
    Pranab

    Hi
Which SRM version are you using ?
<b><u>Help link To setup attachmnets in SRM</u></b>
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_srm50/helpdata/en/f7/92dd3e6ecb1f39e10000000a114084/frameset.htm
1.How is the attachment sent to the suppliers? As a pdf document? Or an attachment in the mail?
<u>Ans - Attachment can be in any format depending on SPRO settings (generally pdf documents).</u>
2.How do we handle attachments to integrated suppliers?
<u>Ans - See the links above and below</u>
Q3.What formats are applicable in the attachment? (.xls, .doc, .ppt, .mpp, other?)
<u>Ans - Any valid format defined in the system. See the links above and below</u>
Q4.How are attachments stored? In EBP? In SAP?
<u>Ans - In EBP system, attachments are stored on Application server.</u>
<b>Please go through other relevant details -></b>
Document for all type/extn can be stored provided their extension is mentioned in DC10 and DC30. And they are stored on Application server.
    <u>Transaction codes</u>
DC10 - create a Document type for SRM
DC30 - Maintain all relevant extensions
In order to store shopping cart attachments in the backend system, you must first activate the transfer by creating an active method and by setting the indicator for parameter in BAdI .
Then you must configure the R/3 Document Management System (DMS) in transaction DC10:
    <b>Steps -></b>
    1. Create document type SRM. Note that no flag is set in any of the columns.
    2. Double click in the detail view to define the new Doc. type desc. = SRM Documents.
    Set the Use KPro indicator.
Enter 1 in the Number assignment field.
Enter an internal number range interval. You can use an existing interval or
create a new one in transaction CV90. The internal number range must be used,
because the GUID of the SRM attachments has more digits than the number in
    the backend system.
Maintain the number exit. The number exit is a program exit for document
number. It controls number assignment and version numbering for documents.
The default setting is MCDOKZNR. If you want to control the number assignment
or the version increment via a USER_EXIT, then you have to replace the
program MCDOKZNR with a company-specific program. You can find further
information in the field help for number exit.
In the screen area Field selection enter – in the field Document Status.
    3. Go to the Dialog Structure and double-click on the entry Define object links. Define the
new object links EKPO and EBAN. Maintain object link descriptions for EKPO
(Purchase order item; Scr.no. 248) and EBAN (Purchase req. item; Scr. no. 247)
    4. Define the workstation application in transaction DC30.
All required file types should be included in this list.
    Transferring Attachments (optional)
This is offered in SPRO itself.  You can set up Web servers for exchanging documents. To do this you can define the following types of publishing:
    Publishing Internally
This is the exchange of documents between systems that belong to your own area of responsibility (intranet).
    Publishing externally
This is the exchange of documents with partners who should be given external access (from the extranet) to their own data.
If the publishing settings for external and internal access are identical, you can use a single Web server for exchanging data.
    SPRO->Supplier Relationship Management->SRM Server->Define Setting for Attachments.
