SAP Product and Portfolio Management Upgrade(PPM)

HI Everyone, A warm reagrds! W e are planning to upgrade our current SAP Product and Portfolio Management 4.0 to 5.0.While doing the Upgrade analysis I have come across below these questions..Has anyone earlier in this forum have come across
1.What are the side effects of this upgrade on existing system?
2. We have 21 client environment on top of the 3 standard clients provided by SAP. What can be the best approach for upgrading the systems? Some of these clients are used by project teams for prototype development , how would the upgrade affect their working (they are not working on this package)?
3. Our team is working on this package in one of the client and have created scenarios in the system. What will be the effect of this upgrade ? (this question can be seen as an extension to question 1)
4. How much effort would be required to carry out this upgrade and what will be the down time for the system?
I have check the service market place and help.sap but at present not getting much info..

  • SAP Product and REACH Compliance 2.0 dese not add-on in SAP ECC 6.0 EHP5

    hi experts,
    I upgraded ECC 6.0 EHP5 and then try to add-on SAP Product and REACH Compliance 2.0 in SAP ECC 6.0 EHP5.
    I aleady knew REACH 2.0 is available with ERP 6.0 EHP5 through Note 1389561 - SAP PRC 2.0: Installation and upgrade for ERP 6.0 and SAP Note 1456663 - SAINT: Enhancement Package 5 components on NW 7.02.
    But unfortunately, When I try to install REACH 2.0 using SAINT, The error message was pop-up

    Hi Jun,
    You could check the upgrade logs and traces at the location ../usr/sap/<sid>/upg/abap/logs.
    Check for the latest last changed logs. Mos probably a prerequisite package for the REACH 2.0 installation is not included in the upgrade. The detailed logs should mention which prerequisite is missing.

  • Pagefile for SAP Erp2005 and Solution Manager 4.0

    Hi all,
    I've installed SAP ERP2005 and Solution Manager 4.0 on the same server with Windows 2003 Standard 32bit.
    The RAM on this server is 3325MB.
    How many paging file I must configure???
    At the moment I configured the pagefile size as defined in the installation guide:
    1 RAM + 8GB that is 12285MB.
    Is it correct????
    For both instance I set the PHYS_MEM parameter to 2328 (70% of the RAM)...is it correct??
    P.S. How to calculate the [BE] parameters??
    [BE] = maximum possible number of user calculated from the size of physical main memory

    I am working in a company at group level, where one of our business unit wants to implement Microsoft Dynamics for project adn portfolio management. We at group level have make sure that before giving a goahead, check is their requirement not met or cannot be met by SAP.

  • SAP TM and Event Management

    Hello all,
    I am a student of informations systems and currently I am writing my bachelor-thesis about SAP Transportation Management 7.0 and SAP Event Management 7.0 in view of Supply Chain Event Management focused on a Fulfillment-Process. I have a few questions belongs to the practicability of this process with SAP TM 7.0.
    Usually you use SAP APO to implement SCM-Fulfillment-Processes. But instead of using SAP ERP LES it is also possible to use SAP TM for Transportation Management especially for Transportation Planning, Execution and Service Provider Selection (Integration between SAP ERP LES and SAP TM e.g. via IDocs), isn't it?
    I have got a few experience in customizing SAP TM and SAP EM for a Transportation Execution (FCL) and Tracking Szenario. For this reason, i want to implement e.g. a partial re-planning of the Transportation Execution in SAP TM if there is a variation between planned and actual data (e.g. because of traffic jam).
    I don't want to know, how to implement this in SAP TM, I just want to know, if is it reasonable to implement this and the scenario above with SAP TM? Or is it recommend to use SAP APO only?

    Hello guys,
    currently we are handling some problems with the integration of SAP Event Management and SAP Transportation Management. Both are running on the same system.
    The Situation:
    I had set up a RFC-Connection between SAP EM and SAP TM. In SAP TM I definied the corresponding settings for EM-Relevance of SRQ. In "Integration with other mySAP.com Components" I defined, the Business Process Types, Application Objects Types and the Event Types.
    After creating a SRQ, I got the message, that event tracking for the expected shipment request type is activated. While debbuging I found out, that SAP TM found the corresponding Business Proccess Type and Application Object Type to the Shipment Request Type. SAP TM also found the Event Manager which I defined in  "Integration with other mySAP.com Components" --> "Define EM" and got the RFC-Destination.
    The Problem is, after creating a SRQ there is no message in the Application Log, like "Event Handler was created successfully". The corresponding tables are empty, too.
    Has got anybody an idea? Maybe the configuration of the RFC-Connection is wrong or something else?

    I am currently working on setting up discounts related to a campaign. Would you have any information on how to do this? I know I need to select condition types from the discount tab. I guess I will have to create the conditon types in IMG. There are some condition types already exisitng that are being used by the pricing procedure for sales orders. Can i use the same condition types??

  • SAP-Treasury and risk management

    Hello,
    Can somebody help me in one of the scenario. I have stuck in it.
    I have a scenario in my project where I am creating class ID for Bonds issued.
    Now as per new guidelines of RBI if on  Interest payment date if there is holiday then interest will be calculated till next day but if along with interest principal repayment is also there and if its holiday then it should be paid previous day...
    I have created separate Class ID for each installment which is separately tradeable and where end dates are separate for each installment.
    Practical example:
    Start date:28/02/2014
    End date:28/02/2018
    Frequency:yearly.
    So interest payment should be:
    28/02/2015-365 days
    28/02/2016-365 days
    28/02/2017-366 days
    28/02/2018 -365 days
    But as I have already told  earlier as per RBI guidelines if on interest payment date if its holiday it should be on next which in my case is coming on 28/02/2016.
    So now as per client new due dates will be:
    28/02/2015-365 days
    29/02/2016-366 days
    28/02/2017-365 days
    28/02/2018 -365 days
    SO I want to know where should I make such conditions in SAP in class ID..
    It would be help if you provide screenshots for the same...

  • Modified SAP SWCV and CR Content Upgrade

    Hello Experts,
    I am reviewing an existing XI installation and found that the developers added interfaces and other design objects to standard SAP SWCVs like BW and R/3 instead of creating a project SWCV to put their objects in.
    The question is, if we update the CR Content in the SLD would these developments residing in the SAP SWCVs be affected? and what would be the consequences to them?

    At least he must have created the name spaces as per my assumption. If that is the case, it should not hurt updating. But if he has used the namespaces also as it is.. you might want to do a trial run on a sand box..!!

  • SAP Training and Event Management Booking an attendance

    Dear Experts,
    Session is not created in SM35 ,when i book attendance in Transaction PV00 for a business event,
    when i click book, the system gives message as attendee is booked and attendance is updated, but the pop up for creating the session in sm35 is not comming. and the attendance is also not updated in the infotype 2002.
    Note: I have activated the integration between Time and TEM
                I have given the attendace type for attendee and instructor in the table
    Please let me know the reason for not updating the attendance infotype

    Hi Shekar
    Since you said that you have activated integration b/w Time and TEM, and you have maintained Attendance Type for both Instructor and Attendee let us look at the options.
    In SM35 session gets created only when the Payroll Area is locked and if you try to book an attendee or Instructor during that period. In other circumstances system will create the attendance for both Instructor and Attendee as soon as they are booked for a course.
    I would suggest you to check if the Infotype 0007 is maintained for those attendees/instructors for whom you are facing problem and also please check Course Type's 1026 (Course Type Info) Infotype settings.

  • SAP Incentive and Commission Management Commission Desktop Config

    Hi Experts ,
    I just wanted to know how the commission desktop( CACSMWB) can be configured differently for different user .
    I went through the Settings for Commission Clerk's Workplace and saw how different function code are created for different transactions.
    But My question here how these are assigned to a user level
    For example . when I logged in to CACMWB , I am not able to see the Commission Case Creation option in my desktop but my colleague have access to it when he is login into commission desktop. Even I can also access the transaction for commissionc case creation directly by typing the transaction code . But when I am accessing it through transaction CACSMWB , This option is not available for me .
    Can someone please tell me what exact configuration is deciding this . Is it based on some authorization concept ?
