SAPconsole and Georgiasoft Telnet server

Can we have 2 separate instances of SAPconsole and Georgiasoft Works Telnet Server all active on the same physical machine at the same time?
We want to have a TEST “SAPconsole and Georgiasoft Telnet server” active on the same machine that is running a Q/A  “SAPconsole and Georgiasoft Telnet server”.
Is this possible?
Will they conflict with each other?
If it will work – are there things I should be careful of?

Hello Everybody , can someone help me please
I have the GSW Telnet in the pocket pc running but I can't connect it to SAPCONSOLE , I don't see the sapconsole in the pocket pc can somebody help me please

  • SAPConsole + Seattle LAbs Telnet Server

    Hi all,
    we're currently upgrading our 4.6c environment to NW7.0. In our warehouse we use RF scanners to process some transactions. In the current system the autotab works as expected. As soon as you enter a nr the input jumps to the next field, in the new system all the settings are the same (but we use SAPConsole 7.10) but the autotab doesn't work as expected: The user has a small menu where he can choose 3 options (input field of 1 character), in the old system the users enters a nr and it jumps automatically to the next input field. In the new system it does this only if you enter 2 characters (so it waits for the input field to overflow). Is there a way we can configure the SAPConsole to have the same behaviour as the old one, or do we need to rewrite our transactions?
    We also have some visual differences between the old and the new environment. Old one is black and white only with some bold and underline, the new one is in color (so no bold/underline) which makes it more difficult to see the difference between the input fields and the text on the b/w screens of our scanners.
    Anyone any ideas on how we can fix these issues?
    Thanks!

    Hi, Rich
    In fact, i don't have an F8 key. To accomplish the F8, i have to press FUNC and then 8. Actually, this is true for every function key and also with the telnet client installed (TNVT/HP), F5 seems not being available. So, if i need to map the keys, can you give me some hints on how this can be done?
    About the logon screen, i agree. I will modify the other one in order to fit the size of both types of mobile terminal that i have to deal with, 20x16 for the PDT and 8x40 for VRC6940 terminals.
    Thank you for your attention,

  • SAPConsole - Telnet server in high-availibility

    Hi there,
    I was asked by a customer to deploy all components of the SAPConsole and the Telnet server without SPOF. I doubt that the SAPConsole and any Telnet server is natively cluster aware nor can they be installed in a high availability scenario without additional software and development. My idea is to deploy two consoles with two telnet server clients. Additionally using a MSCS and some lines of code in a batch file, it should be possible to make both Apps cluster aware.
    Has anybody out there ever designed a scenario like this?
    Any hint or help is much appreciated.
    Regards,
    Bodo

    Hi Barbara.
    I'm sorry to use this old thread, but did you managed to get high availability on your SAPConsole?
    Thanks,
    Pierre

  • Is RF can receipt SAPGui if used SAPConsole and telnet

    Dear all, can you tell me that a RF terminal with winCE operation system can show GUI if can receipt SAPGui if used SAPConsole and telnet. if not, how should i do(it means which server like telnet should instead)?

    Hi,
    In WM, if you are using SAP Console, it is recommended to use Telnet Server as an interface between the RF terminals and SAP, there are other third party interfaces available in the market.
    Reward if it helps you.

  • Telnet server for SAPConsole

    Hi,
    We are implementing SAPConsole and we are evaluating some telnet server software.
    I would like to know the advantages or disadvantages of using Georgiasoftware or seattle labs telnet software .
    Has there anyone who can share their experience regarding these two telnet servers
    Thanks for your help.
    Raju

    we also are using georgia softworks.
    support was great setting it up. Plus, they have a replacement for the terminal engine that is FANTASTIC!
    the terminal engine (additional $) allows you to set up auto-tab and auto enter, and do other things. We have been extremely happy with it, and as the other person said, it is one thing we never worry about. it just runs.
    I have not had any experience with SL.

  • SAPConsole and the Bell Signal

    Hey Folks,
    I'm developing some custom ABAP transactions to use with SAPConsole through a Georgia Softworks (GSW) telnet server / mobile client.  I've followed the instructions layed out in SAP note 371838 and have succeeded in generating the bell signal through a GSW desktop client. However, it does not work on my mobile device.  I'm using an Intermek CK31 handheld computer/scanner running Windows CE 4.2 and using the GSW Universal Mobile Client for device type ARMv4i.
    Can anyone give me some guidance in regards to setting/configuration of the device or GSW software.  Should I be using a different GSW client?  FYI: I tried using the enhanced client for the Intermek CK30, but I couldn't even get it to function on the mobile computer.
    Thanks for your help.

  • How do I connect multiple telnet clients to a telnet server in LabVIEW?

    Good afternoon,
    I'm writing a telnet server in LabView 6.1 that needs to handle multiple clients. To do this, I modified the "viserver\runvi.llb" example to use the telnet VI's from the Internet Toolkit instead of the TCP VI's. Then I changed the Open VI Reference to point to my telnet handler. Right now my handler just echoes the characters received from the client.
    My software works ok for the first connection. After the server accepts two or more connections, characters typed in one client get echoed to all clients. In addition, only one client will accept characters at a time. The client accepting input changes randomly every few seconds as characters are entered.
    Has anyon
    e gotten the telnet VI's to run in parallel? Not sure if they are thread-safe or not. If you have some experience with this, I have attached my llb if you think you can help.
    Thanks!

    I don't think there's a problem with the TCP/connection portion of things. My feeling is that the problem is lurking somewhere in the timing of the application, or in the way LabVIEW task scheduling/multitasking is working compared to the way you expect it to work.
    For instance, I'm wondering why you stuck with 25 seconds (25000 ms) as the timeout value for the Telnet Read in Telnet Handler.vi. I assume you're expecting LabVIEW to quickly "sleep" that while loop and move on to check on the while loops of any other Telnet Handler.vi instances that might have been spawned as a result of connection requests from other remote clients.
    Instead, it seems to me (on my system, anyway, with three simultaneous connections active) that LabVIEW is not cyc
    ling through the other Telnet Handler.vi instances as you expect, but is only getting to them to read a byte at a time each time the main loop iterates in response to a byte appearing from the first of the three remote clients.
    If you change the Telnet Read timeout to 50 ms instead, the behavior is closer to what you might expect, but still not perfect.
    Because timing/threading/scheduling is a complicated subject in LabVIEW, I'm going to give LabVIEW the benefit of the doubt and assume it's operating as designed. Maybe someone else can provide more insight into what's happening in this particular case, and whether reentrancy or something else is affecting things.
    One option I would consider if I were in your shoes: program a simpler version of things that mimics Date Server.vi and cycles through a queue of connections to service them without relying on spawning new reentrant instances of a handler VI.
    I realize that your version of things (along with the reentrancy example
    that ships with LabVIEW) is expressly intended to handle this daemon-style situation, but simpler may be better for the purposes of debugging and development ease.
    My two cents,

  • A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections.

    A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The
    server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: SQL Network Interfaces, error: 26- Error:Locating Server\instance Specified)
    How Can i solve this?

    1. Make sure SQL Server Service is running
    2. If a named instance, make sure SQL Server browser service is running
    3. Make sure SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections
    4. Examine the SQL Server error log for messages confirming that SQL is listening on the expected network interfaces and ports
    5. Test server connectivity with PING from the client machine
    6. Test port connectivity using TELNET or PowerShell to the server and port (from step 4) from the client machine.  For example
    a. TELNET <server-name> 1433
    b. PowerShell: 1433 | % { echo ((new-object Net.Sockets.TcpClient).Connect("YourServerName",$_)) "server listening on TCP port $_" }
    7. Check firewall settings if step 5 or 6 connectivity test fails

  • No telnet server in Windows 10 tech preview

    When I went to enable a telnet server in Windows 10 preview by going to "Turn Windows features on or off," I noticed that there is no option for Telnet Server like there is in Windows 8.1. Running tlntadmn on the command line produces nothing,
    as does searching for it in on my drive. Is Telnet Server just not available for this OS yet?
    KeepMyIdentities, Your Key to Password Security. Available now on the Windows Store: http://apps.microsoft.com/webpdp/en-US/app/keepmyidentities/61a9f340-97ac-4666-beab-39f9246cb6fa

    I just want to mention that by removing Telnet server Microsoft has just broken, from our organization alone, close to a thousand automated tests for verifying our drivers
    work with the OS.  I am sure this is being repeated at hundreds of businesses around the world.  Additionally, there are thousands of system administrators who have automated scripts using Telnet for managing their PCs.
    Offering Remote Desktop as an alternative is beyond ridiculous.  At the very least, Microsoft should offer SSH as an alternative.  While
    this requires a lot of rework, at least it is an option.  Personally, I am tired of having to find, download, and install 3rd party software in order to do my job.

  • Site could not be crawled and connect in server

    I have multiple web applications/sites on this server/farm. I cannot crawl one site. I got the error message in the crawl log as below after performing the Full Crawl:
    “This item could not be crawled because the repository did not respond within the specified timeout period. Try to crawl the repository at a later time, or increase the timeout value on the Proxy and Timeout page in search administration.
    You might also want to crawl this repository during off-peak usage times.”
    I have followed the suggestion on the web do the following
    (1)
    Select the "Ignore SSL errors" on the Farm Search Administration page.
    (2)
    No Proxy server. I did increase the Time-out to 120.
    (3)
    Internet Options>Connections>LAN settings. Uncheck ‘Automatically detect settings’.
    (4)
    DisableLoopbackCheck in the registry
    After the above changes, I still get the same problem.
     Although the service account has full access to anything, I cannot connect this web site via IE from the server (while I can connect to other sites). The only different is SSL is applied to this site. I will appreciate if someone can help
    me out.

    Hi,
    According to your post, my understanding is that you get an error message in the crawl log  after performing the Full Crawl.
    I recommend that you can try to check and test the following things in your environment.
      1.  The first investigation should be to check if you can login to the page via your Brower or with Telnet.
        Open a Command Prompt and hit Telnet gokanx.wordpress.extranet:80. I received a “connection failed” on my black box. This was meaning that your couldn’t reach your site from your internal server.
    http://gokanx.wordpress.com/2013/06/19/how-to-bypass-the-firewall-tmg-and-proxy-during-a-content-crawl-in-sharepoint-publishing-farm/
      2.  Go to SharePoint 2013 Central Administration, click “Search Service Application” in “Manage service application”, click the “Index Reset” to reset all crawled content, then start Full Crawl again.
    Opening IE with Search Service Account on Service and try to open the Sites to crawl.
    https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/0e1f7601-b4b3-446a-9eab-ed6c79faa8e2/sharepoint-search-crawl-not-working-this-item-could-not-be-crawled-because-the-repository-did-not?forum=sharepointadminprevious
      3.  In Command prompt run “netsh winhttp show proxy”. If you see there is a proxy server, which can be old or not working, we need to reset this setting.
      Run the command “netsh winhttp reset proxy” to Reset the proxy and again do a Show command, you should get “No Proxy Server” screen.
      In Order these are the steps.
      a. netsh winhttp show proxy
      b. netsh winhttp reset proxy
      c. Net stop Osearch
      d. Net start Osearch
    You can also check if there are any Proxy Settings in IE Configuration, try to remove the Proxy Settings configured in the IE.
    http://sharepoint-works.blogspot.com/2012/10/this-item-could-not-be-crawled-because.html
    http://sharepointmadeeasy.blogspot.com/2012/07/search-crawl-time-out-or-proxy-issue.html
      4.  Try to import the certificate to the Certificate store of the crawler (and the SharePoint Cert Store [Central Admin > Security > Manage Trust and upload the root certifcate of the repository])
    http://sharepoint.stackexchange.com/questions/58946/could-not-establish-trust-relationship-for-the-ssl-tls-secure-channel
      5.  Add the following rules to the proxy bypass list and reboot the servers.  To do this run command prompt as an admin and use the following command:
    netsh winhttp set proxy xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:portnumber bypass-list=”<local>,sharepoint”
    http://andrewroth1.wordpress.com/2012/09/11/sharepoint-2010-search-service-local-sharepoint-sites-cannot-be-crawled-error/
    If this issue still exists, you can check the ULS log to find more information about this issue.
    For SharePoint 2013, by default, ULS log is at C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\15\LOGS.

    So are you getting the same error when you try from the installed agent or the tool (Local agent)? Is your agent on the same machine or different machine. If so, does that particular machine can connect to the database?
    Also, are you using the same JDBC driver that you are using in SQLDeveloper? Same URL?
    Typically, connection refused error appears with wrong instance or wrong port. Try telnet-ing the in the database server and db port. See what happens there!!! The java stack that you provided here is not an SQL exception, it is related to socket creation. It has less to do with JDBC and more to do with physical resources like machine, port and permission.

  • Telnet Client fails to detect Telnet Server reboot

    Hello All,
    I have written a telnet client that establishes a telnet session with the help of org.apache.commons.net.telnet.TelnetClient to the server and it monitors a particular file. It reads the latest contents written to that file using the tail -F command . The problem I am facing is that the blocking call inputStream.read(int) does not throw an exception even when the telnet server machine reboots, but When network cable is unplugged we are getting an IOException. Due to this behavior my program fails to receive the updates from the file after a machine reboot. Even the telnetClientObject.isConnected() returns true while the machine is rebooting.
    Can you please suggest ways to rectify this issue?
    Thanks,
    Naveen

  • Telnet Server -- Read in strings

    I have written a java program that acts as a Telnet server.
    The server asks the client a question with the following code:
    public final class Server extends Thread{
         Server(){
         public static void main(String args[]) throws Exception{
                    new Server();
                    Server.serverSocket = new ServerSocket(12345);
                    Socket connection = Server.serverSocket.accept();
                    connection.setTcpNoDelay(true);
              connection.setSoLinger(false,0);
                    PrintStream pout = new PrintStream(connection.getOutputStream());
                    pout.println("What is your name?");
    }Now I want the server to read in the answer the client writes (in this case, the client would write his name, and the server has to capture this name).
    I use putty to connect to my telnet server.
    Could anyone give me a clue on how to do this?

    I have written a java program that acts as a Telnet server.Not unless it implements the dozens of Telnet RFCs, which this one doesn't even begin to do.
              connection.setSoLinger(false,0);Don't do that.
    PrintStream pout = new PrintStream(connection.getOutputStream());
    pout.println("What is your name?");So here you got the OutputStream from the socket and wrote to it.
    Now I want the server to read in the answer the client writes (in this case, the client would write his name, and the server has to capture this name).So you want to get the input stream from the socket and read from it.

  • Telnet Server in java

    Hello!
    I am a student and I'm writting my graduate work on the implementation of Telnet protocol in java.
    Can anyone please tell me where can I find open source implementation of Telnet server in java, it was easy to find Telnet client but I have trouble finding the server.
    Thank you!

    Maybe worth checking out (I do not know whether the server side is supported):
    http://commons.apache.org/net/
    * Jakarta Commons Net* implements the client side of many basic Internet protocols. The purpose of the library is to provide fundamental protocol access, not higher-level abstractions. Therefore, some of the design violates object-oriented design principles. Our philosophy is to make the global functionality of a protocol accessible (e.g., TFTP send file and receive file) when possible, but also provide access to the fundamental protocols where applicable so that the programmer may construct his own custom implementations (e.g, the TFTP packet classes and the TFTP packet send and receive methods are exposed).
