Hi Neehir,
I've expected the same error on a Solaris 10-x86, Sun said that was the java version , we download and installed java 1.4.2_15(http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/SAPsite/download.html
) but we faced still the same error!
Concerning the patch  when I tried to delete this patch  : patchrm -f 121208-03
it is said patch no exist and it is upgrapded and supported by our OS patch118855-36.
Could you tell me how to deleted it?
Thanks
Best regards
Thomas

  • Sapinst.exe crashes on Windows 7 (ver. 6.1)

    Hi,
I am trying to install Netweaver CE 7.11 on Windows 7 64-bit. Yes, I know it is not supported. But still, I would like to ask right about the reason sapinst.exe crashes.
So, sapinst.exe can be launched in Win 7 native mode, but it is not compliant with OS compatibility. So I am trying to launch it in Vista mode. But sapinst.exe crashes with error log like this (sorry for flood, but see below).
At the same time sapinst.exe launches in Win 7 native mode + 32-bit sapinst.exe launches in Vista mode. Only 64-bit sapinst crashes in Vista mode. I suspect this is related just to JVM and near that, and may be solved. Please, advise, if someone has more expertise than me or experience with such or similar situations.
    Thank you.
    Regards,
    Anton

    Exception always occurs here: EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xc0000005) at pc= 0x0000000076def2d5
So I assume ntdll.dll is the place where crash happens. Am I right? And what could it mean?
    Thanks.

you are right... but generaly I use updatemenager and it seam to be OK, I check several time and no new patches are available with updatemanager. No errors. Generaly it works fine. I check again without updatemenager from command line and I see that there are several patches are not applied. Oh my God. I try to applied patches manualy and this works fine. After I try pca to apply all other missing patches.
    Strange.
    Now sapint works fine.

Cool tool, really nice. I try it for first time... really good.

  • Installation problem with NW'04 SR1: database connection failed

    Hi all,
while installing NW '04 SR1 on Windows Server 2003 SP1 and MS SQL Server 2000 SP4 I ran into an error related to the database connection. While performing the step "Load Java Database content" SAPinst crashes with the message
com.sap.sql.log.OpenSQLException: Could not load class com.ddtek.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver.
The connection to the SLQ Server with e.g. the Query Analyzer is OK. I had a problem with this installation setup before (have a look at the corresponding <a href="https://forums.sdn.sap.com/thread.jspa?threadID=338638&tstart=0">thread</a> ), the JDBC drivers where missing on the installation master but after copying them in the right direction the installation went on with no problem up to this point...
Has anybody an idea what could have happened here? Is this maybe a problem connected to the one I recently had
Below I attached the sapinst.log and jload.log with more detailed messages.

    Hello Kairat,
Please follow the below mentioned guide to install it.
Check all the parameters to set and run pre requisite checker before starting installation.
Keep in mind that before starting any SAP installation you should always run prerequisite checker.

  • MSSQL JDBC driver missing for installation of NW '04 SR1

    Hi all,
during the installation of NW '04 SR1/EP6 on a system running MSSQL Server 2000 SP4 SAPinst crashes with the following error:
    ERROR 2007-03-06 22:33:34
MDB-05800  <html>Cannot find jdbc driver for MS SQL Server</html>
I searched this forum, the notes and asked Dr. Google but to no avail. Can anybody give me a hint what's the problem, please?
    Best regards,
    Bernd

Thanks a lot for your help Dan! Your suggestion has shown me the right direction. As I wrote the directory you mentioned was indeed missing. I copied it from another installation and it worked.
At least it seemed to work, but I've got another problem concerning the database connection during the installation. While performing the step "Load Java Database content" SAPinst crashes again with the following output:
    com.sap.inst.jload.Jload main
    SEVERE: couldn't connect to DB
com.sap.sql.log.OpenSQLException: Could not load class com.ddtek.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver.
The strange thing is that I found two different SQL driver on the machine with the working installation! One was located in the installation media directory, the files WebAS is working with are obviously another version, because they have significantly different files sizes!
Does someone have a hint which versions of SQL Server and driver files do work together?

  • Unable to create node /home/ SID adm with type directory

I am currently experiencing a problem when trying to install a Java Stack onto my new SCM 7.0  EHP1 server.
    I receive the error:
    System call failed.  Error 89......mkdir..../home/djdadm....
(djd is the SID of my new Java AS)
This is followed by an error:
Unable to create node /home/djdadm with type directory
We have Solaris v10 (SPARC), and the ABAP stack has already been installed successfully.
The user djdadm was created manually on solaris before starting the installation (assigned to groups sapsys, dba, sapinst + oper) and the home directory "/usr/sap/DJD/home" was specified.
Note the difference in the home directory that it is trying to create to the one that we set against the new user djdadm.
This error is experienced quite early in when SAPINST is performing the tasks (and it stops at the Create users for SAP system stage).
I was experiencing a problem where SAPINST crashed completely for a while, so I've downloaded the latest version of SAPINST today.  Also, I've set a new TEMP folder and am running SAPINST from there, but am stuck at the problem mentioned above.
Any help would be much appreciated.

    Hello,
It looks like a Solaris issue. Check if the home directory /home is reserved in the Solaris configuration.
You may try this in that case:
    1. modify /etc/auto_master file to change the entry for '/home' to say
       '/autohome' instead
    2. reboot
    3. rmdir /home
    4. ln -s /export/home /home (make sure /export/home exists)

  • Experience with Solaris 10 Memory Management

    Dear Forum!
Using Note 724713 we installed a couple of R3 Systems on Solaris 10. Independently which R3 Version is used we observe much more memory problems as with prior solaris releases or other operating systems like AIX.
For instance1: We moved three R3 Systems from a server with solaris 8 to a server with solaris 10. We didnt change memory parameters of R3 and the databases (oracle). The solaris 10 server has the same amount of memory (8GB) like the solaris 8 server. Now, on the solaris 10 server we can only start two R3 systems, the third one doesnt start because no memory can be allocated. The memory parameter of all component slightly overload the main memory. Because the systems are not productive they mostly idle and performance loss due to paging and even swapping didnt worry us. Not even that the third system didnt start, the whole OS was a kind of freezed and no more work was possible, also not on the other two R3 systems which were already startet.
    For instance2:
On another server with 16GB memory we startet an installation of a sapsystem and the sapinst crashed due to memory absence. Admittedly, here the main memory was also a bit overloaded, but this is not unusal here and I never saw sapinst crashing because of this.
In both cases Swapspace was adequate.
Do you have similar  experiences? Or any tipps to solve the problem.
    Thanks

  • Upgrading Oracle 9.2 (32bit Windows 2000) to 10.2 (64bit Windows 2003)

    Hello all,
We currently run SolMan v3.1 on aged 32bit hardware and we plan to upgrade this to SolMan v4 on a new 64bit infrastructure. As part of this task, we would also like to move from Windows 2000 to Windows 2003 x64 and from Oracle 9.2 to Oracle 10.2
The current situation is that the new server is built to Windows 2003 x64 level only. Nothing else is installed on the new server at this time. My plan was to install Oracle 9.2 and SolMan 3.1 and then take a system copy of the existing database and then upgrade it to SolMan v4 and Oracle 10.2 (leaving the old system as-is for recovery reasons, should we run into problems).
Has anyone any experience of doing this in a Windows and Oracle environment who could help me with getting this right?
    Many thanks,
    Arwel Owen.

    Hi all,
As this is a fairly low-priority upgrade, we decided to try to experiment a little to try to avoid the ORacle 9 to 10 upgrade. We decided upon the following approach:
    1) Install Windows 2003 x64 (on new server)
    2) Install Oracle 10.2 x64
    3) Install SolMan v3.1
    4) Export existing SolMan v3.1 database (from existing server)
    5) Import existing SolMan v3.1 database (onto new server)
    6) Upgrade to SolMan v4
We have installed Oracle 10.2 and applied 10.2.0.2 Patchset 1 and all seemed okay. We are now installing SolMan v3.1, but SAPinst crashes out after specifying the SAP system directory and transport host and just before starting the database-dependent cations. The error message is:
<b>ERROR: MDB-06168. Oracle is not installed on this host. Install Oracle before continuing.</b>
Oracle definitely IS installed, but it appears that SAPInst for SolMan v3.1 may be too old to recognise Oracle 10.2.
I thought I'd ask for advice before I go and butcher the KEYDB.XML and ORADBPAR.XML files. (It's only a test install!)
    Thanks,
    Arwel.

  • J2EE server node crashes / .hotspot_compiler

    Hi,
I'm trying to install a NW AS Java + usage type DI 7.0 SR3 on W2K3 R2 x64 SP2 with MS SQL Server 2005 and Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 1.4.2_18-b06, mixed mode). During sapinst the server node was shut down by the program but doesn't come up anymore. It crashes constantly and is directly beeing restarted.
A look in std_server0.out gave me the following insight (example, added lf):

As you can see the VM crashes. A look in the corresponding log-file (hs_err_pid4460.log) gave me the following insight (added lf):
    Current CompileTask:
    opto:1295  !   com.sap.engine.core.cluster.impl6.ms.MSRawConnection.sendMessage(

    Lcom/sap/engine/core/cluster/impl6/ms/MSRegistrable;
    [BIIZ)Lcom/sap/engine/frame/cluster/message/MessageAnswer; (1477 bytes)
It seems that the CompileTask for the Hotspot VM always crashes when trying to compile the MSRawConnection class natively (reproducable). Sun describes a workaround for this type of problem, http://java.sun.com/javase/6/webnotes/trouble/TSG-VM/html/gbyzo.html#gbyzd . The workaround is to place a .hotspot_compiler file in the working directory of the application with an exclusion of the method. This will advice the VM whenever it decides to natively compile a certain bit of code first to check this file for exclusions. If the method identified by the VM to be compiled is exluded in this file, the compilation will be skipped. Therefore it would have been worth a try to exclude the above mentioned method sendMessage of class MSRawConnection for hotspot compilation. But when I do a quick search for .hotspot_compiler in my sap folder I find four of them, it seems SAP is already making heavy use of this "workaround" instead of reporting a bug. These files are located under:
    D:\usr\sap\DID\JC00\j2ee\cluster
    D:\usr\sap\DID\JC00\SDM\program
    D:\usr\sap\DID\JC00\j2ee\cluster\dispatcher
    D:\usr\sap\DID\JC00\j2ee\cluster\server0
They all contain the same exclusions, listed here (added lf):
    ## This file contains a list of methods which are going to be excluded from JIT compilation on server start
    ## The format of the file is as follows
    ## exclude package/subpackage1/subpackage2/../subpackageN/<Class_name> <method_to_exclude>
    ## Each line of the file describes only one method
    ## <method_to_exclude> is method name that will not be compiled with JIT
    ## package/subpackage1/subpackage2/../subpackageN/<Class_name>
is the name of the class with the packages containing <method_to_exclude>
    ## Example:
    ## exclude com/sap/engine/boot/Start main
    ## will not compile with JIT the main method of com.sap.engine.boot.Start class
    ## To enter a list of methods to exclude from JIT compilation write them after this line
    exclude com/sapportals/portal/pb/layout/taglib/ContainerTag addIviewResources
    exclude com/sap/engine/services/keystore/impl/security/CodeBasedSecurityConnector getApplicationDomain
    exclude com/sap/engine/services/rmi_p4/P4StubSkeletonGenerator generateStub
    exclude com/sapportals/portal/prt/util/StringUtils escapeToJS
    exclude com/sapportals/portal/prt/core/broker/PortalServiceItem startServices
    exclude com/sap/engine/services/webservices/server/deploy/WSConfigurationHandler downloadFile
    exclude com/sapportals/portal/prt/jndisupport/util/AbstractHierarchicalContext lookup
    exclude com/sapportals/portal/navigation/cache/CacheNavigationNode getAttributeValue
    exclude com/sapportals/portal/navigation/TopLevelNavigationiView PrintNode
    exclude com/sapportals/wcm/service/ice/wcm/ICEPropertiesCoder encode
    exclude com/sap/lcr/pers/delta/importing/ObjectLoader loadObjects
    exclude com/sap/engine/services/webservices/jaxrpc/encoding/InstanceBuilder readElement
    exclude com/sap/engine/services/webservices/jaxrpc/encoding/InstanceBuilder readSequence
    exclude com/sap/engine/services/webservices/jaxrpc/encoding/TypeMappingImpl initializeRelations
    exclude com/sap/engine/services/webservices/jaxrpc/encoding/GeneratedComplexType _loadInto
I thought the D:\usr\sap\DID\JC00\j2ee\cluster\server0\.hotspot_compiler file must be the right file, but however to be sure (test) I added the following line to all four files after having shutdown the instance:
    exclude com/sap/engine/core/cluster/impl6/ms/MSRawConnection sendMessage
When I start the engine again, the content of every file gets overwritten by the original content, therefore lacking my new line. So it seems to me that the content is somehow hardcoded or contained in the db. If it is in the db, is it possible to change the content via config tool? It also seems that this jdk is a beta version since it reports itself with the version string 1.4.2_18-b06. This is the one officially delivered by Sun on the [SAP download page|http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/SAPsite/download.html], as mentioned in [SAP Note 941595|https://websmp130.sap-ag.de/sap(bD1kZSZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/sapnotes/index2.htm?numm=941595]. Can you please provide me a solution to add an exclusion to the .hotspot_compiler file or workaround for the above mentioned problem. As a last option I will deinstall the system and reinstall it with another jdk (e.g. J2SE v 1.4.2_17 x64 SDK), but first I want to try to exclude the method/class from compilation. Thanks for your help!
    Best regards,
    Fabian

    Hi,
You can tell the VM which file to load as compiler exclusion list. Therefore I copied .hotspot_compiler to .ext_hotspot_compiler and added my line
    exclude com/sap/engine/core/cluster/impl6/ms/MSRawConnection sendMessage
then I went to config tool and added under cluster data -> myinstance -> myservernode under tab General the Java parameter
    -XX:CompileCommandFile=D:/usr/sap/DID/JC00/j2ee/cluster/server0/.ext_hotspot_compiler
The J2EE node is now starting up without problems.
    Best regards,
    Fabian

    Hi
Looks like Port 21212 and 21200 is busy or already being used.
    execute ->    netstat -a | grep 21212
                        netstat -a | grep 21200
Try change the port for sapinst eg
SAPinst uses the port 21212 during the installation for communication with the SAPinst GUI. If this port is already used by another service you must start SAPinst as follows:
    ./sapinst SAPINST_DIALOG_PORT=<free_port_number>

    Hello,
Each time I attempt to start Business Explorer Analyzer it crashes Excel before Excel will fully load.
This morning it worked, but between this morning and now I installed the following files to the Excel startup folder: Personal.xls, book.xlt, sheet.xlt, and toolbar.xlb.

commandline ( or via a script).
    regsvr32 /u c:\winnt\system32\sapfhook.dll
    regsvr32 /u c:\winnt\system32\sapfewrm.dll
    regsvr32 /u c:\winnt\system32\sapfdraw.dll
    regsvr32 /u c:\winnt\system32\sapfewut.dll
Subsequentlyremove them from the library directories.
    General Solution:
1). Remove all 4.6C DLL's prior to installation of the
620 GUI. Refer to the SAPInstall-Documentation for this process.
    2) Verify that all sap components have been removed from the PC.
Check specifically the c:\winnt\system32 directory for components
    labelled sap.dll or sap.ocx.
Check via the respective properties whether the components is
    a) delivered by SAP ( Manufacturer ).
    b) part of the 46 Setup ( Version 46xx.xxx.xxx.xxx ) .
2.1) Manually unregister these components by the script above.
    (regsvr32 /u   <yourdll/ocx> ). Note that some DLL's need not/cannot
be unregistered, this is not a cause for alarm.
2.2) Remove them from the pc ( keeping a backup).
2.3)(optional) You may want to run Dlister.exe ( See Note 585643 ) to check for suspicious dll's of potentially SAP origin. Look for dlls with an sap  versioning pattern (SAPGui 46xx.x.x.x, BW 3xxx.x.x.x).
    3) Install the 620 SAPGui and the 3.x BW Frontend.
Please refer to the respective documentation. Note that there have been changes to some commandline options for the sapinst setup.
The 620 GUI/3.x BW should bring all SAP components required for a clean installation on a new PC.

    Thank you Juan,
sapinst Component Installation Guide requires logging in as root.
Nevertheless I have tried to run sapinst as <sid>adm, but the job crashed at the beginning.
