SAProuter does not start, Windows Server 2008 64

I cannot get SAProuter to start on a Windows Server 2008 64-bit server.  I used the following version of SAProuter:
SAPROUTER 7.10 - Windows Server on x64 64bit
- I was able to add the service correctly using the following command:
ntscmgr install saprouter -b <drive>:\usr\sap\saprouter\saprouter.exe -p "service -S <port> -r"
- I configured the service to logon as the <system number>adm account.
When I try to start the service I receive the following error:
The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log for more detail.
When I check the Application event log I see the following error:
Activation context generation failed for "f:\usr\sap\saprouter\saprouter.exe". Dependent Assembly Microsoft.VC80.CRT,processorArchitecture="amd64",publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b",type="win32",version="8.0.50727.4053" could not be found. Please use sxstrace.exe for detailed diagnosis.
What is the issue?

Hi,
Wrong forum I reckon!
Anyway probably you need to check out SAP Note 1375494, most likely that you need to apply the the MS patch mentioned in the note & the attached PDF

  • Blue Screen Error during starting Windows Server 2008 R2 (VM on Hyper-v WinSvr2012) Using a Physical to Virtual (P2V) VHDX.

    Hi There,
I'm trying to migrate one of my physical Windows Server 2008 R2 to Virtual Environment (Hyper-V on WinSvr2012).
(The original physical machine had multiple partitions on the windows HDD and 2 other boot able OSs where installed on 2 of those partitions ...) So anyhow,  After heaps of trouble shooting and fixing the boot records, it finally started booting the
Windows but when it got to loading C:\windows\System32\Drivers\Classpnp.sys
and it crashed, a blue screen poped up saying "A Problem has been detected and windows has shut down to prevent damage to your computer ... ) and then system got rebooted automatically.
I have tried chkdsk, also tried copying a new classpnp.sys to replace the old one but no hope. I don't think is not a damage file issue. Not sure, but it is probably related to changing the HDD devices or SCSI/IDE controllers?
    Any idea?

    1. You have placed your problem in wrong forum. Address your problem to Server forum instead.
    2. I do not think it is liable configuration. I have not heard about migration of multiboot HDD. Try to split it. Pay attention to better preparation. I would expect separate target VM.

  • Error Code 0x80070035 - The network path was not found, Windows Server 2008 SP2

I have bee receiving following "error code 0x80070035 - The network path was not found" when trying to open file shares in both directions using Windows Server 2008 Standard SP2 at both ends. The issue is identical to the KB article KB958285, however the hotfix is only valid up to but not including SP2. One of the servers in question has moved several times between 2 subnets seperated by a VPN. I have tried changing settings in and around the local NIC/DNS Suffix and in the network connection sharing centre, but with no luck. Firewalls are turned off at both sites, and pings and AD queries are successful (one server is a DC). DNS is also working correctly at both sites. Any help/suggestions would be appreciated.
    Richard

I thought I would add in another scenario, since this link came to the top of my list in the search engine.
We are running 2008 R2 with SP1 (it happened without SP1 as well)
We could not map using UNC (IP, FQDN, or netbios name).  We could ping access the other servers via other utils like event viewer and services.msc but just could not map.
In our case it turned out to be a VMWARE issue but we still had to make a regedit change first
You have to go to regedit HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\NetworkProvider\Order\
    And add LanmanWorkstation to Providerorder
I found on a Citrix board that citrix has an issue with this as well
If you're running VM  here is an additional step you should do as well
When you upgrade VMware Tools installed with HGFS from ESX 3.x to ESX 4.x, the HGFS driver may not get uninstalled properly. In this case, the virtual machine's network Provider Order tab in Network Connections
    > Advanced > Advanced Settings displays incorrect information and the virtual machine may lose network connectivity.
To avoid this issue, uninstall VMware Tools 3.x before installing VMware Tools 4.x.
To workaround this issue, if you have already upgraded VMware Tools:
    Click Start >
Run, type regedit, and click OK. The Registry Editor window opens.
    Navigate to
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\NetworkProvider\Order\.
    Delete the reference to
    hgfs.
    Reboot the virtual machine.
We found that if you strip out the HGFS, you do not have to reboot for the provider order tab to come back
I hope that this saves people a lot of time.   I spent days researching this.
This was the solution for me on 2008 R2 DC w/ Exchange.  I do not have VMWare installed but do have Hyper-V.  Thank you so much!

I went to Windows Program and Features and did a "Repair" on Acrobat Pro X.  This redid the install but the result is the same.

  • GoldenGate Manager Does not start  - Windows 7 64-bit, 11gR1 database

    Hi Experts,
I ran into very tricky situation and seeking for clarification and if possible solution for the same, here how it goes: (This is a practice setup for my knowledge and not production)
    My environement:
    GGSCI (msheth-work) 18> versions
    Operating System:
    Version 6.1 (Build 7601: Service Pack 1)
    Database:
Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.1.0 - 64bit Production
    PL/SQL Release 11.2.0.1.0 - Production
    CORE 11.2.0.1.0 Production
TNS for 64-bit Windows: Version 11.2.0.1.0 - Production
    NLSRTL Version 11.2.0.1.0 - Production
I have two database installed called gg1, gg2 on the same local system.
I have two goldengate installation at following location: C:\gg1 , C:\gg2
I was successfully able to start Manager, Extract and Replicate process with out creating windows services for manager.
I read in discussion forum that it is recommneded to have different manager name and create services for them if you have multiple Goldengate installation in the same system. (Oracle Golden Gate installation
Now when I create services using INSTALL ADDSERVICE ADDEVENTS, manager process does not start and manager report log and event viewer from windows shows following error despite of providing correct login details in manager parameter file:
2012-08-23 10:42:31 ERROR OGG-00664 Oracle GoldenGate Manager for Oracle, mgr.prm: OCI Error beginning session (status = 1017-ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied).
GGSCI (hostname) 19> DBLOGIN USERID ggs_owner, PASSWORD ggs_owner
    Successfully logged into database.
    Manager Parameter File:
    PORT 7810
    USERID ggs_owner, PASSWORD ggs_owner
    PURGEOLDEXTRACTS C:\gg2\dirdat\ex, USECHECKPOINTS
Your explaination and help will be highly appreciated.

Thanks all of you to responding to my post, although I have bad news that I tried everything but it did not work. let me show you what all I have done:
    1) Adding windows services for manager
    GGSCI (msheth-work) 4> edit params ./globals
    MGRSERVNAME MGR1
    GGSCI (msheth-work) 5> exit
    c:\gg1>install addservice addevents
    Oracle GoldenGate messages installed successfully.
    Service 'MGR1' created.
    Install program terminated normally.
When I try to start manager service either from GGSCI or from services.msc it gives same login error as mentioned earlier in the post.
    2) Using tnsnames while login into database:
GGSCI (msheth-work) 1> edit params mgr
    PORT 7809
    USERID ggs_owner@gg1, PASSWORD ggs_owner
    PURGEOLDEXTRACTS C:\gg1\dirdat\ex, USECHECKPOINTS
Just to make sure username and password is fine I login into database using GGSCI command prompt as follows:
    GGSCI (msheth-work) 4> dblogin userid ggs_owner@gg1, password ggs_owner
    Successfully logged into database.
Hence, after making sure on all your suggestion I could not get it started and still situation is the same. I would need manager login into database becuase I have implemented DDL replication.
Also, just by removing manager service from windows, same configuration without any change works like a charm. It just that for evey goldengate process a new window is create and it can't be closed. (If closed process dies).

  • Primary Domain Controller Time not working (Windows Server 2008)

Hi there, I'm trying to set up my PDC with an external
before you say anything I have checked other thread and none of them helped and please do not suggest OS upgrades, we don't have the budget for that
we have 4 DC servers (not the real names)
    DC1-Site1 (PDC), DC2-Site1, DC1-Site2 & DC2-Site2
All the other DCs and all the machines pick up the time from DC1-Site1, but this is out of sync with NTP
I've set DC1-Site1 to look at 0.uk.pool.ntp.org, 1.uk.pool.ntp.org, 2.uk.pool.ntp.org and 3.uk.pool.ntp.org using w32tm (yes i was running command prompt as administrator)
I am using a physical server not a virtual server
I have checked all the registry keys and they are correct, but when i do w32tm /mointor it is pointing to itself
I have tired creating a GPO for the PDC and this is being applied when I check with gpresult /r but this still doesn't sync the time with the NTP server
when i do w32tm /stripchart my PDU is +53.4 seconds out of sync with 0.uk.pool.ntp.org
it's not the firewall as the PDU can connect to 0.uk.pool.ntp.org on the correct port
    C:\Windows\system32>w32tm /stripchart /computer:0.uk.pool.ntp.org /samples:10 /dataonly
    Tracking 0.uk.pool.ntp.org [130.159.196.118:123].

The PDC Emulator in the forest root is the only one that you sync with an outside source, and the source can be  your own interna,, 3rd party time service not running on a joined machine, or an external source such as US Navy servers, etc. All other
DCs in the entire forest, no matter what domain or tree, are set to sync from the hierarchy.
For the most part, just following the steps in my blog should help for the PDC and all other DCs. I thought I layed out the steps pretty clearly, since I put it together for someone else to follow at a major, enterprise environment, and they've found it
    successul.
So I'm not sure what you mean by "...primary DC time server service information not save or it will save then revert back to looking at itself?"
If the PDC or any other DC, have problems with the time service and the steps in my blog don't help, or any other service, the cause may be rooted elsewhere. To determine that, would require config info including an ipconfig /all from each DC,
event log errors in the various AD logs and System logs, site design, number of domains in the forest, and more.

  • Quicktime Streaming Server - qtss - service does not start in Server Admin.

    Hi,
We're currently trying to configure a video/audio streaming server, but we've fallen at the first hurdle and the QuickTime Streaming service will not start (I am trying to enable it via Server Admin). Can anyone think of any possible reasons for this?
    Many thanks,
    Dave

It's probably not hugely relevant but are you trying to start it remotely or locally on the server? I know Server Admin can get a bit laggy and not always do what it should when starting services. Also can you check in the logs for the service (Quicktime Streaming>Logs>Error Log) to see if there's anything in there which gives and indication. Paste the output here if you need anymore help with that.

  • Satellite C660D froze and does not start - Windows failed to start

Ok pretty much the most dense person you will ever likely to meet when it comes to things like this. but will try my best to explain.
Couple of days ago my laptop froze on me resulting on me having to turn it off and start it again by the power button. When I started it again the message below appeared.
    WINDOWS ERROR RECOVERY
Windows failed to start . A recent hardware or software change might be the cause.
If windows files have been damaged or configured in incorrectly, start up repair can help and diagnose the problem, if power was interrupted during start up, choose start windows normally.
    -Launch Start up repair (recommended)
    -Start windows normally
When I press Launch Start up repair it goes to a screen with a big cursor (which you can move around) but nothing else happens.
When I pressed on the start windows normally setting it went through to the windows logo whilst starting up but then stalls at this point.
My question is, is it easy to fix & if not where is the best place to take it to get fixed. Said I was pretty dense :p
    Thanks for looking
    Dean

    >My question is, is it easy to fix & if not where is the best place to take it to get fixed. Said I was pretty dense
I think its easy to fix but you would need an Toshiba Recovery disk.
Did you create one in the past?
If not, try to start the HDD recovery: power up the unit, press F8. Now choose Repair my Computer.
Now new Window should open and here you should choose Toshiba HDD recovery option. This would set the notebook back to factory settings.
In case this isnt possible, you would need to boot from a recovery disk to reinstall the system.

  • WDS service will not start Windows Server 2012 R2 with Update

    Greetings,
After building my WSE box clean with new hardware and with Update version of WiSE 2012 R2, I find that it let me set up Windows Client Restore but now the WDS Service will not start for love nor money.
Any suggestions?  Am I missing a Win-PE boot Image?  Should I do something else?

    All,
The problem was a conflict between DHCP and WDS.  Followed the instructions in this article and all is now fine:

  • Tecra A2 does not start Windows

My Tecra A2 has suddenly stop starting windows.
I get the "We apologize for the inconvenience....." screen that says Windows had to shut down unexpectedly and asked to choose how I want to start (Safe Boot, Las known settings, Normally etc)
When I choose any of these the Win XP Start screen comes up for a while, then the PC restarts and the "We apologise for the inconvenience....."screen comes up again.
Any ideas how to fix/troubleshoot this??

    > I do not have a MS WIN XP disc so I tried the Toshiba Recovery Disc. I could not find CHKDSK on the CD but it did do some kind of recovery process. Is this the same thing?
The repair console is available ONLY on original MS Win XP disk and not on the recovery disk.
    > Any further suggestions? Is there any way of checking the hardware? I think this may be a HDD problem, but it would be nice to get confirmation
I agree with you it could be a HDD issue
You could check the HDD using a tool called Drive Fitness Test.
