Satellite L20 - Shoud I pay for service?

My Satellite L20 have problem with reading and recording CD's ad DVD's. Second problem is with sound which is very low. In service told me that if on my computer is not any problem witch sound I should pay for the diagnosis. Computer is on the guarantee of course.
Is that OK? What should I do?

Hi Rafal,
AS far as I know the Toshiba warranty covers the cost of parts and labour to repair your notebook. It does not cover the cost of fixing software problems and it also does not cover the cost of any dismantling and re-assembly where there is no fault found. It will be at the discretion of the repairer as to whether they charge you for any such investigative work.
I suggest you ask them in advance what the costs are likely to be.

  • Jetpack Cannot Pay for service

    I've been trying to pay for the jet pack for 5 plus days without giving my credit card to a human. The system will not allow me to enter a credit card from any other device than the jetpack. Since the plan has now expired that can't be done. In fact it was not until today that I was able to join the my verizon web site because every time I tried I was told the site was down or not reachable for maintenance.  Does anyone know how I can use the online system to make a payment for the data plan without having to give a human my credit card. I've even been into the store hoping that I could just swipe it but told that they cannot do it either.
    The company I work for just switched  the employees to who use a jetpack to tmobile because of the expense and the poor service. This is for my personal use, I've only had for a month and now I understand why the switch.

    wejones, this is a very good question! I'm happy to help clarify this for you. You have the option to suspend your line for up to 90 days as Vacation Suspend. Each time you suspend there is a $15.00 fee, and you're allowed to suspend up to 2 times back-to-back, which is 180 days. If you suspend with billing, you will still be charged the monthly access fee for that line while suspended, and the contract end date will not change. If you suspend without billing, you will not be charged the access fee; however, your contract will be extended for the time the line was suspended. The line will be reinstated automatically after 90 days with either suspension option. After the 90 days, you will need to contact us, (Customer Service), if you want to continue to have the service suspended.  If you disconnect the line altogether, you will not be able to get that mobile number back.

  • Keyboard Keys or Why bother to pay for service upgrade.

    I bought 3 Thinkpads and I'm wondering if I made a mistake.
    One of the Keys popped of (and I popped another one trying top replace the first). I bought the extended on site warranty for this machine.
    But I'm currently on hold at Lenovo support where I have been for over AN HOUR. THis is my second attempt, I called yesterday and finally gave up.
    Man, I thought HP support was bad
    WHat good is paying for support is Lenovo never answers the phone ?

    You don't have to pay. If they are corrupt and (assuming that you are in a country where you are able to) re-downloading them doesn't fix it, then login to your iTunes account on your computer's iTunes (Store > View My Account), click on See All to the right of the Purchase History, find that album in your purchases and use the 'report a problem' link on it

  • My home button is getting stuck. I've purchased the express replacement plan and am now being told I didn't.  I love my iPhone but will not continue to pay for services over and over. I need my phone fixed but will not pay again.

    Apple does not have an "express replacement plan" so are you talking about the AppleCare program?  If so, and you did purchase that warranty extension, contact the plan by http://www.apple.com/support/applecare

    I just received a letter stating that my internet servive was being increased from 50 to 75Mbps?? However, I am supposed to be receiving 105Mbps, for which I pay for. But by receiving this letter it tells me that I am paying for services I am not receiving. Therefore, I have been charged for something I was not receiving and request that I receive bill credits for all the months I was charged for a service I never received.... 

    It's probably a Marketing misfire. Comcast is horrible when it comes to sending stuff to customers for whom the material makes no sense. But you might give http://speedtest.comcast.net/ a try for a reasonable indication of the speed you are actually getting. It it's not correct, you'll have to contact one of their reps at the phone number on your bill or 1-800-Comcast, or chat with them at https://www.comcastsupport.com/chatentry/ to get the problem corrected.
    Comcast sometimes responds to questions here in the forums, and sometimes they do not. When they do the typical response time is somewhere between a few hours and a few days.

    It is a shame that people are paying for services that they can not use. I have been paying for some time for this call anywhere in the world and i am not able to use. I think Skype should make it very clear to customers. i have just cancel.

  • Why does the option to watch a movie even appear if it then will not play because not downloaded? Worse, then only 23hrs left to watch!! Paying for what is not delivered!!

    ITUNES:  Why does the option to "watch movie now" appear & when chosen movie will not play because still downloading. WHY SHOULD THE OPTION APPEAR IF MOVIE CAN"T BE PLAYED. Then when movie is viewable, only 23hrs to watch! PAYING FOR MOVIES WITHOUT OPPORTUNITY TO VIEW does not make happy consumer. Emailed Itunes over and over about problem and stilll paying for services unrendered.

    When iTunes/iPod sync process failed due to timeout, the iPod, has only the initilaised  filesytem structure at the start of the Sync.
    The timeout failure could be due to
    Bad hardisk - do the iPod disk diagnostic, refer to this excellent post by tt2
    Slow USB port or resource - Dont use any USB hub, disconnect all other USB devices while syncing
    Timeout due to Antivirus or other plugins - disconnect from Internet and stop the Antivirus or monitoribng software if you are syncing.
    Preferably stop doing other things while syncing this ancient device, which the latest iTunes designer, think will soon be extinct.

I've never found the online chat service support to be available during my waking hours after checking over the last week. I can't find a contact email for support, either. I've been instructed on several occasions that I will need to make a voice call for customer service, but unfortunately, this will not be possible. I will require text-format assistance from customer support to address two issues which I am unable to solve on my own:
    1) I was charged for service following the cancellation of my service; this includes a period following cancellation during which no service was provided. After working with a representative in person, I was told that my final bill would be adjusted to reflect the legally billable amount. This was three weeks ago and I haven't received a response, and I haven't been able to find a way to pursue a resolution - What can I do to help move this process forward?
    2) It appears I will be unable to pay my bill after this dispute has been reviewed. My phone number is no longer with Verizon. The online bill payment login requires a phone number - I have never been provided with any other account number. How can I pay my bill online?  You cannot pay online once the account is cancelled.  You will be mailed a paper copy of the final bill, and you can mail a check, or possibly call in and pay over the phone.  But online is no longer an option once the account is cancelled.

    Hi I am new to this and my t-mobile phone that I have broke and I am looking to upgrade to something that will help me stay a little more organized but do not want to pay for the service package that comes along with buying a blackberry from t-mobile. I know that I could get one from craigslist or ebay or something and was wondering if I could just put in my Sim card and it would have all the basic functions without the internet and emails. All i really want from the phone is the easy navigation, good organizer, easy texting and calling. Thanks for the help! - Sully

    Sorry, no. Without the BlackBerry Data Plan, you will get very few of the data functions of the device... voice and SMS, yes. Calendar, contacts, etc., yes. No RIM push email.
    You can use the Opera Mini browser for the internet with the TCP setttings enabled, for a browser for free... just watch your billing and make certain you are not charged.

    If you do get 3G, you only use cellular when wifi is not available. You pay by the month for a 3/4G plan.

  • Awful Service - what am I paying for?

    Have the cuts becomes so bad that there is nobody left in Broadband Support? I have had a fault on my broadband for over a week now. I have called support I have joined the chat online for support and I emailed them> Despite all of this I have yet to get any form of response from BT.
    This is pathetic, I pay for the business package to allow me support when I need it. I have cable broadband for contingency but that is not the point, I still expect to get BT broadband if I am paying for it.
    SHOCK HORROR - someone from India just called me after my umpteenth attempt to phone support. He says they are very busy...he'll call me back in 10 minutes to deal with my fault.
    If he is busy why is he calling me to make himself more busy??
    Contact ends in January and I will be kicking BT into touch..my business is struggling as it is but if I ran things like BT run their support then I would be dead and buried.

    The guy from India did call me back. We had the usual "power recycle" blurb and then eventually he got down his script and consented to perform a line test. I had to unplug the phone and he called me 20 minutes later on my mobile. You couldn't make the next bit up.."This is a business broadband account so I cannot help you!"
    He then transferred me to Business and after yet another wait I spoke with someone in the UK called Paul. I had not even finished explaining my fault when I was cut off
    I have always had problems with BT broadband but I was tied into a 2 year contract - something they are full aware of! My broadband is up and down more often than a fiddler's elbow.
    The first fault was caused by poor installation. They drilled the hole through my wall so that water could run down the cable and into the back of the socket. It eventually corroded and they had to come out and fix it. I stressed to the engineer that I was not at fault and he agreed. I still had a bill for £190 though!!
    Pathetic service...cannot wait to leave BT!
