I want to save an image in compact flash and i want read this image from this compact flash to display on the monitor ,i work with an FPGA spartan 3400a for dsp but i don't know how to do that ,any one help me please with a video or tutorial

You may need to check the Advanced Guide for your MP560. This is part of the On-screen manual you can download from the Canon web site. Here is a link from the Canon Australia web site.

The reason I suggest you check the guide is that according to the Guide for my MP980, the Card Slot cannot be used over a network for Mac OS X 10.5, and presumably 10.6. It functions fine when the printer is connected directly to the Mac via USB. But if you have the machine connecting via wireless to the Express, then it may not function. But given your model is a year newer than mine, maybe this limitation is no longer present. So, check the manual to confirm.

Can I save and read text files on a server that I host?

Hello everyone,
I am a java hobbiest. I was wondering if I set up my own server, running out of my house, could I have my applets save to my computer and read from my computer without having to learn JDBC and a DATABASE language. In other words could i just have my applet save and read text files from and to my server?
I'm trying to set up a sight for my 5th grade class where parents can log into. Thanks for your time.
Oh yeah, which is easier, learning how to set up a server or learning JDBC and a DATABASE language?

Short answer: This isn't gonna work
Long answer: For this to work, the first thing you're going to need is a static IP address and a DNS name registered -actually you don't necessarily need #2 but you're probably gonna want it and it's by far the easier of the steps.
As far as I know to get a fixed IP address you've either gotta be directly attached to a larger network (ie university network) or get a leased line from an ISP.
Once you've got that done come back to us.

What kind of code structure is good when target is to save and read huge amount scalar parameters?

In my project I need to save many scalar parameters to file and also read them. There is about 100 logical parameter groups and inside those groups there is about 10 to 50 parameters. Every parameter have own describe name e.g. "TAG1_measurement_upper_limit". Parameter type is string and length about 1 to 7 characters.
In my first solution I made a typedef rings for every parameter group. This structure is not good because when there is a new parameter I must update many things manully. This means that number of parameters can vary. One good thing in this structure that it is documenting my code very effcient. I also like to keep my code simply as possible so I wan't write and read all parameters by using only two VIs. All parameters were saved to one CSV-file. Every column is one parameter group and every row is certain parameter. So there are many empty "cells" in this structure.
I have consired different structures as database, CSV-file etc.. Does anyone thought this same issue before? Is there efficient way to solve this issue.

Values of FP variables can be easily captured.
1. Create a reference to the pane of the FP.
2. With that reference you can fetch all the controls(/indicators) on the FP.
NOTE: make sure that the label of the control/indicators is unique and have a distinct pattern e.g. IOgrp_IOitem_parameter (use caption for user viewing and label in blockdiagram)
3. Using the label naming pattern you can store them in a file.
The label can also be used to restore the value of the control.
1. Read the file
2. Get all control references
3. For each value in the file
3a. Find label name in control references
3b. if found set value

Select a Vi to acquire, save and read continuous analog voltage

Hi,
i'd like to get a Vi to acquire a continuous voltage in a chart or graph to measure a load cell. I would like to save it in binary format (ASCII) or DIadem format and then to be able to display and use it in Diadem.
I have already tried lots of vis but it is not easy to find one that can do all those functions.
At the momemt I am using the Continuous Acq&Graph Voltage-Int Clk and I mixed it with other vis to be able to save it in a binary file. So at the moment I can save it witout errors if the samples number, the frequency rate and the loop time are not too high.
But I have sometimes errors and I don't know how to read this saved file in LabView or Diadem.
In Labview the VI that normally read binary file (graph or chart) doesn't read my chart...?

For continuous streaming, I would recommend to create the binary data file yourself with the standard LabVIEW file I/O VIs, then create a header file to describe the binary file that you've streamed. Here you have the choice of a TDM header file or a DAT header file. The DAT header file approach requires downloading the LabVIEW-DIAdem Connectivity VIs:

The TDM header approach requires using a new set of TDM header VIs wrapped around a C++ DLL, which you can not yet download, but which I'm providing below.

I am uploading an image from the JSP page and want to store it in MS SQL server. I have made a column by the name "COMPANY_LOGO" with data type as image MS SQL/server 2000. How do I save the full image in the table and how do I display the thumb nail image on the JSP page???

How would I save and name multiple images automatically acquired from a Imaqdx camera?

I have a code that can save images however, there is a need for user input when it comes to saving the images.

Hi Theydon,
The number of photos is going to be set by how often you are calling that IMAQdx Snap. This right now is going to be limited by the prep time between shots. If you make it so the loop will run more than once a second, you will get more photos.
Secondly, why do you have that while loop around the write to file? You don't actually need it, and this is probably what is causing the files to skipover those files. If you would still like to decide whether or not to save the image, you could use a case structure instead of this while loop.

Macintosh Color Classic Compact Flash Card

Hi All,
So I purchased 6 Macintosh Color Classic's for $15 each with Apple IIe cards and Apple Ethernet cards. They are in excellent condition. They came with 60mb HDs. I would like to upgrade the HD with something bigger. What I would like to get is a SCSI to IDE to Compact Card convertor. I have seen some SCSI to IDE convertors. Ideally I would pop in a Compact Flash Card and partition it. What would really be cool is to remove the internal HD and replace it with a Compact Flash Reader and add a slot in the front so I can swap them out and boot.
Do any of you know of a product that will work and have actually used? I know there are some, but I want to be certain it will work with the Classic.
In the meantime; Would a SCSI 2 Seagate Cheetah drive work with a 50 pin adaptor? I have 7.1 but will go to 7.6.1 as soon as I have a bigger drive.

The big problem is that the hard drive caddy and adaptor that attaches to the back of the hard drive are not designed with any wiggle room for something in between so you would have to fashion something else for a plate. Then the issue might become whether or not everything will still fit in the slot or line up with the connectors....
I've adapted CF cards to work in Aspire One laptops and unless you pop for the fast $$$ cards these things are dogs so again not sure if that is such a great solution.
RE the adapted SCSI 2 drive same problem as above with the hard drive caddy and the strip that attaches the hard drive to the CC. Personally I would say you are out of luck on this as well.

Compact Flash Format

I'd like to be able to transfer files between my Powerbook and a PC using a Compact Flash Card. Is it possible to format it so that it is read/write capable on both platforms? I'm using a SanDisk Ultra 200x variety.

Format it on the PC. If FAT32 doesn't work with OS 9, you may have to use FAT16.

Can't disconnect a Lexar Compact Flash Firewire 800

I have a new MacBook Pro with Adobe Photoshop Lightroom and a Lexar RW034-7000 Compact Flash card reader (Firewire 800) hook to it. The Lexar starter guide said to drag the card icon to the trash can. The problem is that no icon appears on the desktop to drag. So the blue led light stay on the card reader all the time. How do you safety disconnect the reader from this computer.

If you go to the Finder and selexct Preferences are all items shown on your Desktop in the General tab? By the way, I gather the card works ok with Lightroom so does it have setting where it stops the CF card from appearing?

Flash CS3 program flickers during "undo" and "save and compact"

Hi,
I have Flash CS3 Suite. I have a computer that was built in 2004, running Windows XP Professional - 2 Gb RAM although I have given the Virtual memory 4 Gb. The reason I did that is because I thought maybe my RAM wasn't enough. I have no problems with any of the other Adobe programs or any other programs on my computer, just Flash Professional. The running process only uses 16,030 K so it can't be that.
I have uninstalled, cleaned all adobe files completely off of my computer, done a fresh install, more than once, but no matter what, I seem to have issues with the 2 following commands:
1. Edit > undo feature
2. File > save and compact - although this doesn't flicker as much as the other one.
The flickering is frustrating, and, of course I can't do anything else until the flickering stops.
The positive side of this issue is that I am being much more thoughtful about my editing which is good anyway, but it would be nice for the flickering to permanently stop. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.

Tom, thanks for your quick reply. I'm a commerical photographer using Canon 5D mk2's mostly and have in the past just downloaded images to a mac book for backup. I really liked the compact size of the Ipad and just got the retina model with the camera connection kit and seem to be hearing that CF readers can't be used with it b/c they draw too much power. Seems like I remember reading I could use a cord that might have come with my cameras to download directly to the Ipad. I haven't tried it yet as I can't find the connection but then you just said it can't be done?
   I'm COMPLETLY lost as to your "first pluging in a flash drive to my computer, advice. Do you mean Ipad when you say computer? "then put your movie/photo files into the folder." HOW????????
     Then plug it into the Ipad??????     TOTALLY lost.
Also your saying just "do a google search for a reader doesn't work b/c NONE are able to work with the newer Ipads b/c they use TOO much power or so everyone says everyone that have tried.

I have always downloaded pictures by using a card reader wich I connect to my computer. I Go to the Organizer, click on "Import" and select "From camera or card reader". Once on the Photo Downloader, I select the pictures, chose the folder and click on "Get Media" and all the photos get downloaded. Today I folled the same procedure as always, but ZI'm gettig an error message that reads"Import Failed" followed by another message that reads "Nothing was imported. The file(s) or folder(s) selected to import did not contain any supported file types, or the files are already in this Catalog." I'm puzzled by this message and don't know what to do o get my photos. Any suggestions?

The organizer doesn't care where you send your photos when you download them via the downloader or where they happen to be when you first bring them in if you use the Get Photos command, but once your pics are in the Organizer, you *must* move them from within organizer or it can't find them. You don't have to use My Pictures at all if you don't want to, but regardless of the folder where you put your photos, if you want them someplace else, you use organizer to do it.
