Save as from Acrobat , all filenames read "PDF File"

Acrobat Pro 9.4.4 has developed a new to me bug. If I "save as" to a folder containing PDF files all the file names in the window read the file type "PDF FILE" (see the attachment) however, when I move the cursor on to any file the file name field will show the correct file name. This also happens when I try to import pages from an exsiting file and is highly inconvenient. This does not happen with any other application. I am running MS Windows 7 home premium. Can anyone suggest a solution please

the pdf retrieved from ftp server should be stored in data type xstring.
Then
pdf_content = cl_document_bcs=>xstring_to_solix( pdf_xstring ).
document->add_attachment( i_attachment_type = 'PDF'
i_attachment_subject = lv_pdf_subject
i_attachment_size = pdf_size
i_att_content_hex = pdf_content ).

I have made a LabVIEW program where I have possibility to read a PDF document. When I made this LabVIEW program it was Acrobat Reader 5.0.5 that was installed on the PC. Lather when the Acrobat Reader was upgraded to version 6.0, there was an error when VI tries to launch the LabVIEW program. And Later again when we upgraded to Acrobat Reader 7.0.5 I must again do some changes and rebuild the EXE files again
It isn't so very big job to do the changes in one single LabVIEW program, but we have built a lot of LabVIEW programs so this take time to due changes every time vi update Acrobat Reader. (We have build EXE files.)
The job is to right click the ActiveX container and Click "Insert ActiveX Object", then I can brows the computer for the new version of acrobat Reader. After this I must rebuild all the "methods" in the Activex call to make the VI executable again.
Is there a way to build LabVIEW program so I don't have to do this job every time we update Acrobat Reader?
This LabVIEW program is written in LabVIEW 6.1, but I se the problem is the same in LabVIEW 8.2.

Why won't Firefox launch Acrobat in order to read pdf files from a website?

My Firefox browser used to launch Acrobat to read pdf files from the web. Now it won't do it. Why not? What do I do to get it working again?

I am getting messages that I can't download and read .pdf files since I have the wrong Adobe reader. I know about their security disasters of course, but I downloaded the latest version of Adobe Reader from the Adobe web site and I have other ,pdf file readers as well, and for some reason they won't work either. I have 5 computers running top end processors and RAM. By this I mean I have one, this one which I am using that has an AMD Phenom Black 3.2 Quad-core with 8 GBs of Corsair top DDR2 RAM, my other two AMD have either an Athlon II triple core with 4 GBs of DDR2 Corsair RAM, one with the Phenom X4 965 3.4 GHz Quad-core with 8 GBs of their best DDR2 RAM, and two Intels with the i7 920 Processors using the triple channel 1366 socket processors and one with 8 GBs of low latency DDR3 RAM and the other with 4 GBs of the same RAM. I am getting the message on this one, which has a fresh install of XP Pro X64 operating system, as do the other 4 as well. I have run Avast Business Pro Anti-virus on this one, which I am getting the message on with a single result which I deleted, and also both Spybot Search and Destroy, which came back clean as well as Malwarebytes Antimalware, which got a lot of tracing cookies now removed, and SuperAntiSpware which also found a few cookies also now deleted. Can you tell me what I need to do to get these files to show as .pdf files rather than as a clean blank page. One other issue is that I wish to know how to turn off my downloads so they are saved and Mozilla will give me the option of returning them instead of me losing them all together as it does now. You were right, it was a Microsoft problem.
I got it...I am now able to save a Word 2010 document as a pdf file. Here is what I did/found:
In Word, go to File, Options, Display and make sure that "Print drawing created in word" is CHECKED.
Mine was unchecked and when I checked it everything came back and is working as it did before. The only thing I can think of is that a Microsoft Update may have changed this selection...I know I DID NOT make any changes in the options.
One other thing I noticed in my saved documents folders was that a lot of my files showed up as PDF's and would still not open until I selected one and told it to default to open as a word document and then they all changed back and I was able to open them in word again.
I hope this helps others out there.

There is a check box in the preference (under edit). I have not had great success with this setting, but that is what it is supposed to do. Don't expect it to happen in Chrome that has it's own PDF viewer (or the preview function on a MAC). You might also check the settings for your particular browser.

Can't read PDF file from SD card!

I'm trying to read PDF files on my Life Drive, which has Adobe Reader 3.05. The files are stored on a sd card. I know these files are on it, as I can see these through Windows XP. When I launch the reader, all I get is a blank screen, with the square with the word all next to it, and beam and delete. There is no "open file" to tap on.

Perhaps your pdf file is damaged or something. I think you can try a utility called Advanced PDF Repair to repair your PDF file. It works rather well for my corrupt PDF files. Its web address is http://www.datanumen.com/apdfr/

I have tried to read pdf files on two different websites this morning and neither of them will display. I just get a black screen. I have updated to the latest version and have set Adobe Reader as my default reader. I have a Macbook Pro with OS X 10.7.5.
Please help. Very frustrated.

Go to: Mac HD/Library/Internet Plugins
Trash the AdobePDFViewer.plugin and AdobePDFViewerNPAPI.plugin files.
Empty the trash.
Relaunch Safari.
PDFs will now open in the browser.
