Save contant of dropdownlist in 2d array

Is it possible to save the contant of an dropdown in 2d array?

I just want to save the data of one of my dropdowns and use these contant for another dropdown.
How could I do that?
I have these code below.

But know I need not the direct path (**) to the contant of these dropdown - but the data of the interface which is binding the dropdown.

    Hello to all
    I am looking for a possibility to save voltage data acquired and displayed continousely to a spreadsheet file. Acquiring and displaying is not a big problem, but I have troubble to save the data with the corresponding timestamp with more than seconds accuracy. I am acquiring the data at 1000 Hz and read packages of 500 samples. The recording time should not be limited, it will be started and stopped manually. In fact the acquired voltage data first has to be scaled and than saved. If I use the 'WRITE WAVEFORM TO SPREADSHEET' VI the time column is in seconds' accuracy and that is not what I need. If I create my own time array from the waveform parameters I have timing problems. The accuracy in time should reflect the sample rate. I will attach one of my not very successful trials for better understanding.
    please help a newcomer!

    I usually follow a simple method to generate time stamp
    I keep sampling rate and number of samples to read as equal and do as shown in the attached VI
    I also remember building a VI with a small modification to this time stamp generation logic to cater to acq, where number of samples to read is half/one fourth/one tenth of sampling rate specified, but cannot find that VI.

  • How to save a value in a byte array, retrieve it and display it?

    Hi,
    I am doing a project for my data structures class that involves saving a value (given in String format) in a byte array (our 'memory'). Initially I just tried casting character by character into the byte array and casting back to char[] for retrieval (using .toString() to return what's supposed to be the original string), but this did not work. I tried the .getBytes() method, applying it to the string and then trying to recover it by placing the contents of the 'memory' in a byte array and applying toString(), but that didn't work either. I looked a bit and found this class, CharsetEncoder and CharsetDecoder. I tried to use these but when I try the compiler tells me I cannot instantiate CharsetDecoder because it is an abstract class. At this point I'm at a loss as to what I can do. Is there any way to place a string in a byte array and then recover the string in it's original format? For example, I might save a value in my particular class of "456". But when I try to recover the value from my 'memory' i.e. the byte array, it comes out like [gnue@hnju.... or something similar. I need it to output the original string ("456").

    You can certainly put it into a byte array and then construct a new String from that byte array. Just calling toString doesn't mean you'll automatically get a meaningful string out of it. Arrays do not override the toString method, so the use the one inherited from object.
    Look at String's constructors.

  • How to save joint's coordinates into multidimensional array

    Hello everyone, 
    i have a question that's seems silly but i'm stuck in it since yesterday !
    i'm developping a small application with ms kinect sdk 1.7 and when detecting skeleton and all joints are tracked i want to save it into multidimensional array of (20,3) which are respectively the number of joints in human body and the coordinates along
    the 3 axes. 
    my goal is to calculate after that the max and the min values throught the 3 axes.. so i began with this piece of code.

    The issue you are having is not specific to the Kinect SDK. You will need to look into your managed code construction of the array since that is not valid. There are ways to create a single array of a structure which you can then provide your own enumeration.
    You may want to look at the generic collections of .Net to see what would be best since you will way to provide some logic to the sort since the points in space will need to calculate a length.

    I am trying to save a 32 bit signed 2d array as a png file in labview. I have the data save as a .csv, but the file sizes are extremely large, so I was hoping to switch to another format to save space (must be lossless).
    I have tried converting the array into a pixmap and then using the imaq functions, but that did not work.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Assuming you have the ASCII values of the 32 bit values, that can be up to 12 bytes per value including delimiters. Just saving it as a binary file could chop two-thirds of the size. Let's say there is some order to the data so compression may help, in this case I would simply zip it. The primary compression of PNG comes from the same Deflate algorithm used by zip (with only minor differences). Line drawings often have regions whose value is the same across several rows. PNG adds a pre filtering step which makes regions like these more friendly to the run length encoding used by Deflate. If your data does not have this feature, you will not gain much with PNG versus zip. Some PNG encodes skip the filter altogether, leaving you basically with a rube Goldberg method of zipping files.

  • How to crate a dynamic size array, collection

    Hi,
    Can someone point me to some tutorial on how to create a dynamic size array. Actually I have multiple cursors and on different tables and want to loop through each cursor and get some values from each cursor and put it in an array. But don't know how to create or initialize an array as I don't know the size. Is there any other way.
    Here is what I am doing I have 6 cursors on different tables, I loop through each cursor and get some specific data that I need to place at one place after looping through all the cursors which then finally needs to be inserted in one table. But before the insert I need to validate each data so want to have all the data in some array or some other place for temporary storage from it's easier to do the validate and insert rather than while looping through the cursors as there may be duplicates which I am trying to remove.
    As this procedure will be called multiple times so wanted to save the cursor data in temporary array before inserting in the final table. Looking for some faster and efficient way.
    Any help is appreciated.

So wondering if how to do it through collection/array is there a way to intialize the array and keep populating it with the data with defining the size before hand.You cannot append the bulk collect of one cursor into the collection used for bulk collecting another cursor.
    Collections are automatically sized to the number of rows fetched. If you want to manually size collection, the Extend() method needs to be used, where the method's argument specifies the number of cells/locations to add to the collection.
    From what you describe about the issue you have - collections are not the correct choice. If you are going to put the different tables's data into the same collection, then you can also combine those tables's data using a single SQL projection (via a UNION for example).
    And doing the data crunching side in SQL is always superior in scalability and performance, than doing it in PL/SQL.

    Well since you have the XML object loaded, all you would need
    to do is extract the nodes and data you needed then push them onto
    the array..
    If you are not too sure how to go about this, give us the XML
    schema (xml structure) of what was loaded and what you need and we
    can shoot you some basic code to get it done.

    that means that one of your Sorted Functions does not have correct input
    as the error says
    you probably placed it in a wrong way - check the functions
    desciption on help.sap.com or an example on SDN blogs
    and correct it - then it will work

    Don't know why you want a 2D array, this VI puts the results in a bundle.
    Just because it seems more practical to me (there's less room for
    mistakes)...
    The VI works as follows:
    The max value is returned, incl. it's index.
    Then it is replaced by the original minimum value, minus one.
    If the last found maximum is the (original) minimum, everything is skipped.
    If you really want a 2D array, instead of a bundle, replace the contant with
    an empty 2d array, the bundle with a build array, and the indicator with a
    2d array...

    there is a problem i discovered right now - after years with java where was no necessity to do this.....
    and i'm shure this must have been the topic already, but i couldn't find any helpful resource :-/
    right here we go:
    1. an array is a (special) kind of object.
    2. there are "primitive" arrays and such containing references to objects. of course - and i imagine why - they are treated differently by the VM.
    3. then both are - somehow - subclasses of Object. whereas primitive types are not really, primitive-arrays are. this is hidden to the programmer....
    4. any array can be "pointed" at via local Object variable, like this:
    Object xyz = new int[6];
    5. arrays of Objects (with different dimensions) can be casted, like this:
      Object pointer = null;
      Object[]   o  = new SomeClass[42] ;
      Object[][] oo = new OtherClass[23] [2] ;
      Object[][][] ooo = new OtherClass[23] [2] [9] ;
      o = oo = ooo;     // this is save to do,
                                   //because "n-dimensional" object-arrays
                                  // are just arrays of  other arrays, down to simple array

    i'm stuck. i see no way to do this smoothly. i could write thousands of methods for each primitive array - BlackBox( int[] is ) etc. - but this wouldn't help. because i can't cast an int[][] to int[], i would also have to write countless methods for each dimension. and guess, how much there are?
    suppose, i ultimately wrote thousands of possible primitive-type methods. it would be easy to undergo any of it, writing this:
    BlackBox( (Object) new int[9] [9] );
    the method-signature would again only fit to my first method, so the whole work is useless. i CAN cast an int[] to Object, but there seems no convenient way to get the real array out of Object - in a generic way.
    i wonder, how do you write a serialisation-engine? and NO, i can't rely on "right usage" of my classes, i must assume the worst case...

    your code looks weird to me g and i think there's at least one false assumption: .length of a multidimensional array returns only the number of "top-level" subarrays. that means, every length of every subarray may vary. ;)
    well i guess i figured it out, in some way:
    an int is no Object;
    int[ ] is an Object
    the ComponentType of int [ ] is int
    so, the ComponentType of an Object int[ ] is no Object, thus it cannot be casted to Object.
    but the ComponentType of int [ ] [ ] IS Object, because it is int [ ] !
    so every method which expects Object[], will work fine with int[ ] [ ] !!
    now, you only need special treatment for 1-dimensional primitive arrays:

    The main target is that testing the strength of a object which is extended by a force. The desired results are
    1. The strength of object under the force(main target, I am trying now);
    2. Displacement of object being extended(I have mimicly done);
    3. Images of deformation of the object extended(I have mimicly done).
    4. The sub procedure will stop when the object under testing is broken. I intend to use the big pulse from force sensor by analizing the data acquired.( it is more difficult if using machine vision).
    What I am mainly trying to do now is implementation of a sub vi to collect the data which is acquired from channel 0 of PCI-6052E which is connected to a force sensor. I have tried to use an existing exam
    ple as attached with some modifications. I have tested the data from the sensor by comparing to measurement by multimeter and it takes sense. But
    1. I still don't know how to save data displayed by AI Read.vi? And use what kind data type could save more memory?
    2. I think that memory management is very important because each points of the result includes its strength, image and displacement. How can I acquire enough significant points for the final results being reliable and save these data down to an array or cluster synchronously? (each sub procedure has no time limited)
    3.Because I think that a continuous data acquisition would occupy ALL CPU TIME and their related images and displacements would have no chance to be taken down by CPU at the same moment. Am I right?--I am sure that it is not very difficult problem but my mind is still in caose and the time is quite limited to me now.
    I am looking for your sugguestion or solution or control philosophy too. You can modify the fi

    Hello;
    Regarding your question on the data type that would use less storage space, the answer is binary type. Actually, you can use another shipping example as start point of your application. The example I'm mentioning is a data logger, that saves binary data to a file on your hard drive. You can find that example at Search Examples->I/O Interfaces->Data Acquisition->Data Logger->High Speed Data Logger.
    Regarding your question about the CPU time, the statement is valid. In case you use a synchronous AI task, the CPU execution will get stuck inside the AI Read.vi untill the buffer is ready to be read. One thing you can do about that is to change the acquisition task to be asynchronous. There is a good example in Labview showing how you can accomplish that.
    You can find the example at Search Examples->I/O Interfaces->Data Acquisition->Analog Input->DAQ Occurrences.
    You can combine both examples to accomplish the task you need.

  • Programmatically open a file and save it in a new directory

    To start off, I'm relatively new to LabVIEW and did a couple searched about this and couldn't find anything pertaining to what I wanted.
    Right now I have an event structure where I click a button and the file dialog comes up.  I then select a CAN database file.
    After that is done I'd like to save the file to the program's directory and save the relative path to an array/spreadsheet/whatever (I haven't decided what would be the most appropriate yet).  Saving the relative path is the easy part.  After opening the file, I can't seem to find anything that will let me programmatically save it to another location.
    Does anyone know how to do this?  Thank you for the help.

    i have managed to save the content of a 2d array to a text file, but i am a bit stuck reading it back and placing the data back into a 2d array.
    i have a Scanner object that can read the the integers from the file using nextInt(), but i am not sure how to place them back into the 2d array.
    i need something like:
            Scanner inputStream = null;
            try{
            inputStream = new Scanner(new FileInputStream("out.txt"));
            catch(FileNotFoundException e)
                System.out.println("out.txt not found");
                e.printStackTrace();
            for(int i = 0; i < 13; i++){
                for(int j = 0; j < 13; j++)
                    matrix[i][j] = inputStream.nextInt();
            inputStream.close();but it doesnt like the for loop.

    2) You may need to call inputStream.nextLine() after the inner for loop but inside the outer for loop.
    3) Always, always use curly brackets "{" and "}" to enclose your for loops, while loops, if and else statements. They may seem like extra work if you are only processing one line, but they will save your life someday. Always.
    4) Consider closing your scanner in a finally block.
