SO NOT SURE WHERE TO USE THE CODE AND HOW -
To save to the server, correct the invalid or missing required fields.
We have a SharePoint 2010 document library that has a required field that is from an external data source. When we open existing Excel documents, a ribbon appears stating "To save to the server, correct the invalid or missing required fields.".
If you go File>Info>Document Information Panel you will see this external data source field with a Red Asterisk and it says "Show Details". If you click "Show Details" it will show you the "Document Properties - Server"
toolbar and you will see this field populated. It is however read only, and I believe that it is because its an external data source. It will not let us save any excel documents as it seems that Excel feels this field is empty or incorrect.
The same happens with Microsoft Word documents, in that if you open an existing document and go to the document control panel you will see the external data field with a Red Asterisk and it says "Show Details". If you click "Show Details"
it will show you the "Document Properties - Server" toolbar and you will see this field populated but read only; the difference is with the Word documents we can save and close the documents. If we upload a new excel document, it behaves
just like word documents, so it seems its only applicable to existing excel documents.
Over the past 2 weeks we have upgraded from SharePoint RTM to SharePoint SP2. This is has never been reported prior to the upgrades so I am assuming, but cannot confirm, if it was caused by the upgrades.
I see there are workarounds online for Word, but nothing for excel.
Any help for further troubleshooting would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Ken
Kenneth ClebakHi Ken,
According to your description, the error will occur when saving the documents in the library which has an external data column from client application.
The document which cannot be saved may contain invalid XML information or invalid XML properties.
I recommend to remove the invalid XML information before you save the documents:
Open the document in corresponding client application.
Click File, click Info, click Check for issues, and then click Inspect Document.
In the Document Inspector dialog box, accept the default options, and then click Inspect.
In the Document Inspector dialog box, click Remove All, and then click Close.
Best regards.

ShangaiHello,
>But only problem is when i select the jpg file from desktop it's should be default save into below SERVER path
Attachment patch and bitmap pacth can be customized in
Administration\System init...\General Settings\Path folder.
These path values are avaiable in SDK, properties of company object.
In this case at least the BitMapPath should be set to
SERVERNAME\B1_SHR\
You should copy it, by io.File.Copy command, and you can determine the system attachment pacth as ocompany.AttachMentPath or ocompany. BitMapPath
This is the answer for you question.

How PLM Document save on content server
Hi All,
Please tell me the concept about given below scenario:
Normally PLM documents are either saved in the Content Server or in the database.
What if we have neither configured a database nor a content server. Where are they being stored then.
what exactly Document serever , how the PLM document save on Content Server or in data base server.
Thanks
Narendra Vikram VishwakarmaHi Vishwa,
It depends on the storage area that you have maintained in the sap system for the documents. The customisation in the sap system is visible at IMG-->Cross Application Components -->Document Management --> General Data --> Settings for storage system. The storage area that you configure here will be linked to the DIR creation process.
The SAP DMS is a file directory in the SAP server and a content server is a seperate Sap certified server usually maintained for handling files. However these topics are much more broader and you can have an overview by checking the following link www.verbellacmg.com/ulm211_v2.ppt

Help! Save to remote server has broken links to all images
Okay, I (now) know this was a stupid thing to do - but surely there must be an easy way to rectify it...!?
I usually 'PUT' the html files to the remote server, once they have been saved locally. But I keep getting frustrated with the uploading of all the dependency files, so... I 'discovered' the command 'SAVE TO REMOTE SERVER' and used this to save my html file directly to the server. I was asked if I wanted to update all the links - and I clicked YES (doh!)
Now all my images and links are broken.
I know it is just a single page - but it contains quite a number of links and images. Also, this page used a template and the image/links from the template within this one file are also broken. (The actual template file and all the other pages in the site are okay)
'Undo' did not work
Does anybody know a quick way to fix this?
I am using Macromedia Dreamweaver MX 2004
MANY thanks in advance,
RichI 'discovered' the command 'SAVE TO REMOTE SERVER' and used this to save my html file directly to the server. I was asked if I wanted to update all the links - and I clicked YES ...
Sorry to say you've learn a valuable lesson the hard way. Never, never save to remote server without first checking your work locally.
You'll need to fix the links. Working locally and in code view, identify the path problem. Do a Find & Replace (Ctrl+F) in the source code. Test in browsers. THEN when everything works properly upload to server.

Problem logging into server.
i have a macbook pro running 10.6
imac running 10.6
macpro running server 10.5.8
MBP logs into iMac no problem, iMac ARD and Sharing settings are identical to server, but server will not allow login without asking permission (so i know server see's it) What am i missing on the server side that's not allowing direct login
server - sharing and remote management set to all users. Server logs into imac no prob but imac/mbp will only log into server if someone is at server and clicks allow, which makes it pointless for remote access.
sorry if explanation was iffy, its a tough one.
thanksIt's clearly still connecting as a guest, even though you say you're using a valid user account on the server. One final question; it appears that you have the ARD administrator application installed on more than one computer. If so, do you have separate serial numbers for each installation, or are you using the same serial number on all the systems?

Will users not logged into server be able to access internet
If I setup OS X 10.8 server in my home will others in household be able to access internet without a user account or logging into server?
Yes, it's just another device on the network that can offer services to other devices. Without the access details and things file sharing or the web server switched on the other users wont even know that there is a server on the network.

Can't see IMAP log in Server Admin
For some reason, when I click on the IMAP log in Server Admin, it's just empty. Anyone know how I can get it back? Where is the actual log so it can be viewed in the console?
The path to the log (posted across the top of the log display, if that's still visible) is /var/log/mailaccess.log
That log should be visible via Console.log, or via Terminal.app and cd /var/log and then grep or cat or whatever.
How much gets written into the various mail-related logs is controlled via (of course) Server Admin.

Error: Save subscription to server
Hi all,
When I try to create an e-mail subscription, I get the following error at the end of the Create Subscription Wizard:

I have changed the Reporting Database Thresholds, I have checked the connection from the reporting sql to the smtp server. I can't believe there is a connection problem because running reports works just fine.
Any ideas on this error ?
Kind Regards,
J. MonnensI've checked the available space on the DB server and
SITE DB: 3255 / 5158 MB

I don't see any issues there.

For debugging purposes I would like to log to server.log from an ejb. How do I go about gettting a reference to a logger? Do I use the java logger or log4j? Either way, what name to I give to LoggerManager.getLogger(?)?
I read that you can redirect stdout and stderr to the log, this might be the way to go, since System.out.println commands would go to the log. Does anybody know how to redirect these streams?
ThanksI think, System.out.println will log into server.log.

Difference between sysout log and server log???
Hi All,
from the long time am trying to find out the difference between sysout log and server log, can anyone please share me the info regarding that?
Thanks.Server Logs
The server log records information about events such as the startup and shutdown of servers, the deployment of new applications, or the failure of one or more subsystems. The messages include information about the time and date of the event as well as the ID of the user who initiated the event.
Standard output logs
In addition to writing messages to a log file, each server instance prints a subset of its messages to standard out. Usually, standard out is the shell (command prompt) in which you are running the server instance.WebLogic Server administrators and developers configure logging output and filter log messages to troubleshoot errors or to receive notification for specific events.
