Save with one mouse button

Hello
I am trying to view a PDF from my school webmail. When I click on the link to the attachment I get a message that says "To open the attachment you must save this file to disk." Then goes on to tell me about right clicking on the mouse and if I only have one button to hold the button down and then select save. I tried holding down the mouse button and pressing the apple key and "S" and it saves the webpage to my desktop not the attachment. How do I view this PDF? Thanks.

Look under your system preferences, mouse and you'll find a really cool option to do a 2-figure right-click equivalent (put 2 fingers on the trackpad, then click). Works wonderful!!

  • How do I create multiple TEBs with one submit button on one page in Captivate 7

    I've read other posts on this topic (which refer primarily to earlier versions of Captivate) and am still at a loss as to how to put multiple text entry boxes on a page with one submit button. Here's my scenario:
    I am creating test questions.
    Each test question has multiple text entry boxes (for numbers only).
    Student should be able to enter numbers into the textboxes in any order.
    Then there is one Submit button that should initiate validating all the text entries, and move to a scoring page (so I can test it). (What would be best is if this button not only did the above, but also submitted scores to the LMS.  But that is not my question at this time.)
    I'd like this question to be set up as a template so that I can duplicate it, be able to add or delete text boxes and change the values required in the text boxes.
    Here is an image of a sample question page with multiple TEBs. The yellow boxes tell the student where they need to enter text:
    Any help or direction to help is appreciated!!

    I think the problem here is that Arlhoolie wants all of the different TEBs to behave as if they were part of a single interaction that submits only ONE result to the quiz.  Using multiple TEBs in Captivate means that you have multiple scored objects and therefore multiple results being submitted to the quiz.
    If you want a single Success or Failure result submitted to the quiz based on the results from multiple interactive objects then there really is no simple way to do it.  But you could try using the Infosemantics Interactive Master widget to combine all the TEBs as slave objects that report to the Master Widget, which then reports a single score to the quiz based on the results from the slave objects.
    You can learn more about the Master widget here:
    http://www.infosemantics.com.au/adobe-captivate-widgets/interactive-master
    http://www.infosemantics.com.au/interactivemaster/help
    You can download a free trial version of the widget here:
    http://www.infosemantics.com.au/adobe-captivate-widgets/download-free-trial-widgets
    One caveat you should be aware of is that this widget is not HTML5 compatible.

  • DoDragDrop oddity with Right Mouse Button

    Hi all,
    More experimentation - today with Drag & Drop.
    Everything seems fine when performing this with the left mouse button, but when initiating this from WPF
    with the right mouse button it appears to trigger the PreviewDrop event on the originating object.
    I've tried intercepting QueryContinueDragHandler, which is fired and is having an Action set of Continue - all to no avail.
    Much time with google shows no examples of people using the right mouse button with DoDragDrop, and a single query on this forum in September with someone having a similar problem.  No replies to that thread - hopeing for more luck today!
    So, has anyone successfully initiated a system based Drag/Drop using the right mouse button?  In this case I'm working with a ListView, but I suspect that is fairly irrelevant.
    Events occuring with Right Mouse Button depressed (and dragging a small way) are:
    Call to: System.Windows.DragDrop.DoDragDrop
    Callback: DropSource_ContinueDragEventHandler
    Callback: DropTarget_PreviewDragEnter
    Callback: DropSource_ContinueDragEventHandler
    Callback: DropTarget_PreviewDrop
    With the Left Mouse Button:
    Call to: System.Windows.DragDrop.DoDragDrop
    Callback: DropSource_ContinueDragEventHandler
    Callback: DropTarget_PreviewDragEnter
    Callback: DropSource_ContinueDragEventHandler
    Callback: DropSource_ContinueDragEventHandler
    Callback: DropSource_ContinueDragEventHandler
    etc...
    Anyone aware of any issues in this area?
    Thanks,
    Glyn
    PS: The behaviour is different if dragging something from another application / desktop to a drop target, so it appears to be related to the originating side of things. ie, there is no problem when dragging an object from the desktop or similar.

    Hmm - seem to have found the problem - it is related to the ContinueDragEventHandler!
    Here is a suitable handler for dealing with Left & Right mouse button drags
    You can activate it using:
    DragDrop.AddQueryContinueDragHandler(this, QueryContinueDragHandler);
    private void QueryContinueDragHandler(Object source, QueryContinueDragEventArgs e)
        e.Handled = true;
        // Check if we need to bail
        if (e.EscapePressed)
            e.Action = DragAction.Cancel;
            return;
        // Now, default to actually having dropped
        e.Action = DragAction.Drop;
        if ((e.KeyStates & DragDropKeyStates.LeftMouseButton) != DragDropKeyStates.None)
            // Still dragging with Left Mouse Button
            e.Action = DragAction.Continue;
        else if ((e.KeyStates & DragDropKeyStates.RightMouseButton) != DragDropKeyStates.None)
            // Still dragging with Right Mouse Button
            e.Action = DragAction.Continue;

  • PDF form with one submit button that prints form and sanves PDF with data with a unique file name

    We have a long medical form that patients can fill out at kiosks as they wait to see a doctor. We want one button so that the patient can print out the form with one click (and finish filling it out by hand if it's not finished already) and the same button click will save the form with a unique file name (using last name, first name, date, and/or email address so that the identity of the person who filled out the form will be readily apparent to anyone who wants to grab the user's responses later). Is Acrobat capable of doing something like this? LiveCycle Designer maybe? And if we continue with the PDF form and add a submit button, is there a way to program the button click to print and to save?
    Thank you in advance of any suggestions that might accomplish this task.

    I am not sure about the print, but it can probably be done -- possibly with a bit of JavaScript. As to the saving of the form, that is not reasonable at a kiosk. You would want the data submitted to a server (particularly with patient data), no e-mail or accessible drive. You can collect the data and put it in a database or import it to the form for printing yourself.

  • Open Tabs with Middle Mouse Button in Linux FF

    Hey all, the issue I'm seeing is this:
    I can open and close tabs, on Windows Firefox, with the wheel (middle button) on the mouse.
    Once I go back over to Linux Firefox (v3/4 both) (Fedora 12/13) I can't get it to work. I've even seen forum posts elsewhere where some people are even having trouble with the newest Fedora 14.
    The mouse is a [http://www.logitech.com/en-us/for-business/products/keyboard-mice-combos/devices/879 Logitech RX300]; a simple 3-button mouse where the middle button is the scroll wheel. I've seen forum posts about this mouse specifically - but in relation to Windows problems.
    I'd very much like to find out what the root of this problem is and how to fix it.
    If that is too slippery, even a suggestion of a known-good working mouse of the same type would be helpful. If the answer is to get away from the one I have then I might just.
    If anyone can lend some insights my sanity would be greatly appreciative.
    Thanks in advance,
    TT

    And, wouldn't you know it, an hour after posting I found the simple solution...
    Someone suggested that the Logitech RX300 mouse had a problem with mapping the middle (wheel) mouse button - try another one.
    I tried 4 various mice - they all worked. The Logitech RX30x mice needs some adjustments.

  • Can't open a new tab with the + for tabs. Can open with Mid mouse button. Nightly.

    When I click The + to open a new tab in Nightly, it does nothing. I can open new tabs with mid ouse button, or right click>open in new tab. Just cant open a new tab via the + button. Started 3 updates ago in nightly (3 days ago pretty much).

    Are you using a 32 bit Nightly build or a 64 bit Nightly build?
    The 64 bit Nightly build for Windows is only generated to test for compilation errors and doesn't undergo all the tests that other builds get, so the risk that something goes wrong can be quite high.<br />
    So if you do use the 64 bit version then try the 32 bit version to see if you still have this problem.

  • JTabbedPane with one close button for all tabs

    Hello,
    there have several solutions been posted for JTabbedPane subclasses that provide tabs with icons working as close buttons on each tab. I think this is not user friendly because the user can hit the close button accidentally when selecting a tab. And a "really close?" dialog is clumsy.
    Therefore I prefer the Netscape browser style: There's only one close button rightmost of the tabs that closes the selected tab. But I don't have an idea how to achieve this.
    Does anyone have a solution or an idea? Thanks in advance for help.

    This solution has been posted several times and is not what I wanted. But I rewrote the thing so that
    - the close buttons are on the right hand side of each tab so that it is conformant with Eclipse style, and
    - the close buttons work only with a left click (see code below).
    I just wonder how I can move the text a little bit to the left so that the appearence is a bit more balanced. Can someone help, please?

  • SPA50X transfer with one-touch button

    Hi to All!
    Sorry for my English first! :-)
    I'm using SPA504G phones with IP-PBX ZyXEL X8004. One-touch buttons is configured as described in manuals: fnc=sd+cp+blf; sub=UserID@$PROXY
    Here is my problem: when I want to transfer incoming call to other extension by pressing desired One-touch button, it executes a BLIND transfer, not attended transfer. There's two interesting fields on SIP tab of the web interfacenamed 'Hold Target Before REFER' and 'Keep Referee When REFER Failed', but changing of values of them does not changing result.
    Please explain meaning of these fields to me, how it works and what should I do to retrieve ATTENDED TRANSFER by pressing One-touch button.
    Thanks a lot!
    Ruslan

    Hi Ruslan,
    For me to answer this question I would need to set up one in our lab and see if that works.  For that, I would suggest you to give us a call at 1-866-606-1866 at any time so we can create a case and assist you further.
    Meanwhile, you can try to turn off the Blind transfer (Phone-->Supplimenting Services) and that should allow the attendent transfer.  Then, add xferlx to the ringing key list.  So, while the call is either ringing or is connected, press the *xferLx line key. If only one other call is on hold, the active call is connected to the call on hold. Otherwise, the user is prompted to select the Line key to transfer the call to.
    Hope that helps.
    Sincerely,

  • I can't remove Yandex Elements from the Open menu list with right mouse button and Tools menu although I removed Yandex. I think it slows down Firefox.

    I downloaded Freeyoutube downloader from internet and somehow got yandex installed in my computer with toolbars on firefox.Despite I removed Yandex from my computer Yandex elements still stays in open menu when right mouse button clicked and in the Tools menu. I tried to uninstall Firefox, remove yandex registry from windows registry and restart computer, and then reinstall firefox, Yandex elements still hangs there. Firefox is now running very slow compared to the running before Yandex.

  • JTable selection _only_ with right mouse button

    I have a JTable and my code is responsible for selection. All selection should only be done with the right mouse button. The left on will be used for other purposes. However, I do not know how to stop selection with the left mouse button.
    Currently selecting with the right mouse button does the selection in "my way". Klicking with the left mouse button still offers selection the "default way". I want to disable this default way. How can this be done?

    First you get the ListSelectionModel of the jtable. Then use setSelectionInterval to set selection. Look at following code:
    table_list.addMouseListener(new MouseAdapter() {
    public void mousePressed(MouseEvent e) {
    showPopUp(e);
    public void mouseReleased(MouseEvent e){
    showPopUp(e);
    private void showPopUp(MouseEvent e){
    if (e.isPopupTrigger()){
    menu_point.setLocation(e.getPoint());
    ListSelectionModel lsm = table_list.getSelectionModel();
    lsm.setSelectionInterval(table_list.rowAtPoint(menu_point),table_list.rowAtPoint(menu_point));
    popup.show(e.getComponent(),e.getX(),e.getY());
    });

  • [SOLVED] [Gnome 3] Move/resize with alt+mouse button not working

    Hi,
    Anyone have any ideas why I can't move or resize windows in Gnome 3 with the alt key + mouse button?
    From what I've read it should be possible to do this in Gnome 3, or have they removed it?
    The alt key works fine for other tasks, like alt+f4. By looking at xev the keyboard seems to generate a correct alt key as well:
    KeyPress event, serial 32, synthetic NO, window 0x2200001,
    root 0x15d, subw 0x0, time 74162047, (-380,478), root:(2169,522),
    state 0x0, keycode 64 (keysym 0xffe9, Alt_L), same_screen YES,
    XLookupString gives 0 bytes:
    XmbLookupString gives 0 bytes:
    XFilterEvent returns: False
    Both the middle and the right mouse button works fine for other stuff, like pasting and opening menus.
    Anyone have any ideas?

    I suffer the same problems. metacity is already installed. Any idea what else I might look for?
    And did it reactivate Alt+right-click to resize?
    For geoffm and anyone who stumbles across this, as per http://unix.stackexchange.com/questions … dows-again, you used to be able to use the gconf editor, but now it's (from the command line)
    gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.wm.preferences resize-with-right-button true
    This nearly did my head in back when it changed.. now I just have to find out how to change the behaviour that seems to have cropped up in latest gnome 3.10 update, where you have to click the _left_ mouse button to finish/stop the resize.. Quite annoying

    Hi Eradest,
    I guess there is some confusion since it's a mouse/kbd combo, it creates 2 events, one for the keyboard og 1 for the mouse, and the tricky part is that the one for the mouse also features some extra keyboard keys.
    I tried your suggestion, but still same result, if I don't specify event, then the mouse doesn't work.
    If I comment out both mouse and keyboard X autodetect it and use evdev for both it seems, however then I have the problem that X crash when I click any other mouse button than button1
    I've also tried using the default keyboard setting and let X autodetect it, but it makes no difference.

  • Expose / Spaces function(s) fail to work with mouse buttons, ongoing issue

    Please see this now very old thread:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2131775&start=0&start=0
    This is an issue as old as snow leopard itself. The problem varies in that it can effect spaces or expose. When using a non-apple mouse, one or more of these functions will fail to perform with a mouse button indefinitely as soon as a restart has taken place.
    In my particular case, whatever mouse button I assign to "show desktop" fails to function entirely after a restart has taken place. This remains true even if I re-apply the setting in system preferences, such as changing it to another button, or changing it to nothing, and back. I can still use keyboard shortcuts and screen corners to activate "show desktop". I can continue to use other expose and spaces features with the properly assigned mouse keys. Only one feature, in my case "show desktop", fails to function with -any- mouse button after a restart.
    To make this even more clear, this behavior has remained the same and consistent for the 14 months I've had snow leopard. It has even continued to exist after I recently removed and recreated my HFS+ partition, and re-installed OS 10.6, entirely from scratch. It did not exist whatsoever for the year and a month I had OS 10.5 leopard, before upgrading to 10.6. This behavior was +literally introduced upon installing snow leopard+. I have a razer death adder 1500 DPI mouse.
    Several others share the exact same symptoms, with only the affected expose/spaces function and mouse model differing. A sibling of mine experienced the +exact same issue+ with an entirely different mac model and the exact same model of mouse.
    As a relatively unimportant aside, certain "tricks" seem to fix the issue, but only temporarily (one involves moving the location of spaces and/or expose out of the utilities folder, another involves deleting "com.apple.symbolichotkeys.plist" from ~/Library/Preferences). Unfortunately, these tricks:
    A. always only fix the problem temporarily, the issue returns
    B. do not address whatever is causing the issue in the first place
    This is really frustrating quite a few people, as the linked-to thread can attest to. Along with the obvious, this frustration is magnified because:
    A. This issue +does not appear+ to involve terribly challenging technical difficulties (i.e., merely mouse button behaviors).
    B. This issue did not seem to exist before OS 10.6.
    C. This issue, with the previous two points above in mind, has remained unaddressed for 14-plus months - the entire duration of Mac OS 10.6 snow leopard. I myself originally figured a reasonable time for this issue to be addressed & resolved would be a matter of +a few days+, weeks at most, and at the very least, thought I'd be using these beloved features again +well over a year ago+.
    To put it frankly, what the %$#&? Why hasn't this been addressed yet?

    Anyone even care? I submitted this as feedback to apple, and haven't got a reply through that route, either.
