Saving Data in Web Interface

Hi Experts,
I have following problem, Please provide your inputs to solve this.
Background Info: We are using web interface ( web excel) for planning and we have fund center authorization variable and once user launches the interface and select fundcenter, the data appears and user goes on doing planning. We do have, running planning sequences on save functionality implimented and we are running global planning sequence having the functions which check automatically executed before saving of data.
Issue:When user is in fund center "A" and inputs in the layout some data and hits the save button and error is generated from the error function because of wrong data input and data is not saved into cube. It is fine to this point. Now user does not eixt the interface but navigates to other fund center i.e "B" and keys in data and hit the save button, no errors occur and data is saved. Here is the problem, at this point it is saving data of Both fundcenter A and B. We want to save only data of fundcenter B at this point. The error functions are running only on the fund center that user is selecting but I should be able to release the fund center A when user navigates away from it.
Any thought to solve my issue is appreciated with points and let me know if you need any additional details.

Marc >> I cannot run the planning function on all the fundcenters that user is authorized because more than one user is authorized for same fund center and locking is based on fundcenter. If I run the function for all the fund center that the user is authorized then he is going to create a lock on all fund centers and that results in locking issues. Please let me know if see any other solution to solve this issue.
In general, I will be ok even if user looses the data in buffer for fund center "A" when they navigate out of it when error occur but I should not be saving the data.

No messages by perfoming a Function After Data Change - Web Interface Build

Hey Xperts,
I have a problem to see messages, when I perform a Function via WEB - Function After Data Change.
You can select by costomizing a Subcomponent "Layout" that a Function can be performent by the feature "Function After Data Change".
But when I run the function there is no message in the message tray.
When I run the function via Button, there will come up a messages.
Is this a buk or a feature.
How can I see message by performing a Function After Data Change ?

Hi Thomas,
the system works as designed. It would be a bit anoying if the success messages are always displayed. Therefore only errors are shown.
If you really need it, here's the modification:
Include LUPWB_COMPONENTD18

DATA SAVED UNLESS ERROR MESSAGE IN WEB INTERFACE BUILDER

Dear collegue,
IN SEM-BPS THERE is a fox that executes a control on the data inserted
in the layout. In planning folder when the data are not corrected there
is a message that lock the date and data cannot be saved.
In web interface builder there is the message (with icon "STOP") but the
wrong data are saved however. This is a serious problem.

Dear DG,
when using planning folders there is the feature to run a function upon leaving a layout and upon save. In order to forbid saving of data in case of error the function has to run upon save - and that feature is not available in WEB based planning.
You can add it by implementing the how to paper "How to run planning sequences on save and other events". You can find it in the service market place http://service.sap.com/~sapdownload/011000358700004491692004E/HowToRunPlFuncOnEvent.pdf.
This should solve your problem.

BPC Web Interface

Hi,
I'm got an strong assumption and just want to validate with experts before putting this as an option to the client.
We want to access BPC input schedules and reports (developed using EVDRE function) through web interface. Users should be able to input data through web interface instead of logging into BPC for Excel.
To achieve the above requirement, we just need to publish the input schedules and reports to the content library and then we use the generated URL to access the respective input schedule/report through portal ?
Another question is: as BPC is service enabled, can we access the BPC input schedules and reports without SAP portal too?

1. When you refer to LiveWeb you are refering to the web based report of BPC?
Under the Portal Publication button in Excel EPM in version 10 there is a prompt for BI Launch pad or BPC Documents View. Documents view results in an error.
Where you successful in converting from Excel to Web in version 10?

To retreive the data based on input in a variable in web interface.

Hello all,
I am working on BW-BPS.
I have a web interface which has many variables.One of them is Version.
I fill in the values in the variables(including the version) and save the data.
This saves the plan data in the Infocube.
Now next time the user opens the web interface.when he enters the version which is existing in the cube,then
all the variables should get filled in with the values in the cube for that particular version.
how do i achieve this??I mean how do i code this in the BSP page of my web interface.
I have read about methods for redefinition in the class CL_UPWB_BSP_APPL.but do not know much about this.

hi,
you have to create a sub class of CL_UPWB_BSP_APPL i.e(create a class whose super class is CL_UPWB_BSP_APPL).
since the BSP Event Handlers are implemented in it
you can change accordingly.

Web Interface Builder: export planning data in excel

Hi,
we like to export our planning data in excel from a WEB Template. Do anyone knows whether it is possible or not?
In the web interface builder I only could add the function button with an exit export in excel. Have anyone experience with the abap coding or where I can find more information about the coding?

I have found this problem. I decided to add an additional tab in all the layouts, with the same layout but defined in Excel (where you have the button to export to excel).
I have defined this excel layout as "no ready for input", because he have found that the performance openning an excel layout in web is terrible.
I see that is the same answer as you have received. But just say that we have had same problem, and that's the only solution that we have found.

Mailman web interface now saving changes

Hi,
On our server, Mailman is working fine (it sends out mail to those on the list), but the web interface does not work. I can log in to the web interface, but any changes I make will not take. I can not approve or delete messages, and I can not change the settings in the administrative section. I have tried in Firefox, Safari and in Explorer. I have CGI enabled on my site. Any ideas on why I can not manage the lists?

I've had the same problem on some of my virtual domains for a long time. I suspect that if you use multiple domains on your server then you're likely to encounter this problem. It seems that mailman is really picky about the domain names matching. I found my fix on this thread:

The part that worked for me was the fix_url command of withlist. So if you have a mailing list named 'foobar' and your domain is example.com then you would type this:
sudo /usr/share/mailman/bin/withlist -l -r fix_url foobar --urlhost=example.com
Don't ask me what it does but it seems to fix this particular problem. Hope that this helps you like it did for me!

POP-UP Windows in Web Interfaces

Hello!,
I´m working with BW 7.0, BPS 3.5, and everything must be in WEB Interfaces.
I need to show certain messages, like "no data is saved" in a pop up screen. I have already seen the Javascript code where you can select some messages (class, nomber), so the message tray only shows the message you want.
I need to do exactly this, but show these error messages in a Pop up window...

Style display problem in Web Interface Builder (OWC)

Hi,
I wanted to create my own styles for my BPS Planning Layouts and then
use it in the Web Interface Builder on Office Web Components.
Step 1 : I saved a Planning Layout in my hard disk.
Step 2 : I created my styles as explained in the SEM BPS help notes (->
Format, Styles ) and saved it in Excel.
Step 3 : I used UPP_MASTER_CHECKIN in tn se38 and then
UPP_LAYOUTS_UPDATE_WITH_MASTER in order to apply the master template in
all my layouts.
Step 4 : I put my styles in all my layouts in the BPS0 (for Lead
Columns, Head Datas and Data Columns).
Step 5 : Once I generated my layouts in the BPS0, the result was what I
expected : the styles were right and at the good place. I checked
publish for the WEB for all the layouts that needed it.
Step 6 : I created a Web Interface with BPS_WB using my layouts as
Office Web Components (Web Excel : true)
Step 7 : I generate my Web Page
And when I look at my layouts the styles disappeared....
However if I modify the Standard Styles (SEM-BPS-headata or SEM-BPS-
sub1 for example)and put them in my layouts then it works !!!! The
modified styles appear in the Web Interface Builder.
I do not understand why it works with the standard styles and not if I
create and put my own. Did I something wrong or missed a step or is a problem with SEM BPS ????

Sorry that note say :
Styles. Consequently no changes to the SAP standard styles are taken over to the OWC
I try fix that problem too, go check new design in BW-BPS.

Web Interface - "Execute function before displaying the layout" issue

Hi Experts,
In my project we have converted some BPS planning folder to Web interface. The steps are as below:
1) Open the BPS planning folder using upspm. Copy the web interface as Web Enabled folder.
2) Generate the web interface by clicking on go to --> Generate web interface
3) Run transaction bps_wb. Open the web interface. Then generate web interface again
4) Run the web interface by clicking on 'Display perview'
5) In the web interface there are some some functions which get executed before displaying the layout.
6) For such functions, push button gets created.
7) I have set the visible property of such push button as false.
8) Most of the time, when I am running the web interface, it
is getting executed successfully.
9) Some times, the web interface is not displaying the layouts successfully.In such cases I have observed that "Execute function before displaying the layout" is not working. Due to this some values like Fiscal Year is not getting set. So, the layout is not getting displayed.
10) I understand that it may be due to compilation error.
For example, I might have made some changes in the web interface. It must be saved and web interface must be regenerated before I diplay the interface again. Can you please help me in understanding the reason of this problem.
11) Can you please help me understand the cause of point no 9. Is it a non-issue? What may be the reason that "Execute function before displaying the layout" does not work every time.

Will a function that runs, before the data gets saved, work for you? You can configure such a function to run before the save command behind the save button you create in the planning application.

LIST OF VALUES not Populating in BPS WEB INTERFACE ( LAYOUTS )

I have created a WEB interface for BPS in BI ( version 7.0) . But when i execute this in internet explorer, I do not get the LIST OF VALUES for Material.
When I click on "input help" the system open a new window for "Value selection". When I specify the material code, it gives me blank LIST OF VALUES.
But it is working for other fields like Customer, UOM in the same layout.
Please suggest some solution.

Master data is avaliable for the Material Code. The problem is in Internet Explorer and not in SAP GUI .
If i run Planning folder for the same layou in SAP GUI it is working fine.

Displaying a BW query in web interface

Hello People ,
I am trying to see a BW query in a web interface . I will tell you how am I doing it . I run the transaction RRMX which opens an excel sheet and gives me a tol bar from which I open a query . Then I choose info areas from the next window and it shows me a tree structure with two nodes
1) Financial
2) Industry sectors
I expand industry sectors > retail > staff works
This takes me to two nodes
1)       operational
2)       sales infocube
I expand sales infocube and this takes me to a couple of nodes
1)       Key business driver
2)       Manager forcasted sales
3)       Productivity data source
4)       .
5)       .etc
I select key business driver and choose the CHANGE icon from the toolbar . This opens the query designer . There I have an icon in the toolbar which says display quey on web . I click that and it attempts to display the query in internet explorer .
Now the problem is the the message that appears on the browser is
Warning sign : variable OFPER for characterstic fiscal year/period has been converted to required entry .
Error sign : Error when generating data provider .
Now my question is what does this message mean ?Does this mean that the required content that I am trying to access has not been activated or there is some configurational issue ?

Hi Deepak,
It means that there is a selection screen for Fiscal period in which you have to enter the Fiscal Period. Only for the Fiscal period for which you entered the data would be displayed.
But the best way to create teh web report is to goto Web Application Designer -> Drag and drop the "Table" webitem on the right hand side -> Assign the Query to the web item. Now execute it in browser from the Web Application designer. Copy the link and use it whenver you want it.

BPS_WB-Can i add a query to a Web interface tabpage?

Dear experts,
In a BPS web interface application, i have already a tab page which allows users to input their data. Now i would like to add a second tabpage which allows to display the existing data.
Is that possible to link a BEX query to a Tabpage BPS web interface application? I would like that the query is launched and the result is displayed each time an user click on this tabpage.

Executing the planning function while opening the web interface

hello all,
I have created a planning area based on multiprovider.This multiprovider is based on two transactional cube ie,COPA cube and Cost Center cube.
This planning area is meant for enabling integrated planning.One plans in COPA cube and other plans in Cost Center cube the income statement gets planned based on this two.
I selected planning items in multiprovider layout to display the income statement.The layout is as follows:
PlanningItem Amount
Net Sales: 9.000,00 INR (This comes from COPA)
Sales Overheads: 200,00 INR (This comes from Cost Center)
Depreciation: 200,00 INR (This comes from Cost Center)
Other Expenses: 300,00 INR (This comes from Cost Center)
EBIT: 0,00 INR
Interest Income: 0,00 INR
Interest Expense: 0,00 INR
Operating Income: 0,00 INR
Taxes: 0,00 INR
Now EBIT planning item is to be calculated from the planning items as follows:
EBIT = Net Sales-Sales Overheads-Depriciation-Other Expenses
For this i have created a planning function which calculates EBIT.This function works properly,there are no issues in it.
My problem is that i want this function to be executed as soon as i open the web interface for my planning application and the result should be as follows:
PlanningItem Amount
Net Sales: 9.000,00 INR (This comes from COPA)
Sales Overheads: 200,00 INR (This comes from Cost Center)
Depreciation: 200,00 INR (This comes from Cost Center)
Other Expenses: 300,00 INR (This comes from Cost Center)
EBIT: 8.300,00 INR
Interest Income: 0,00 INR
Interest Expense: 0,00 INR
Operating Income: 0,00 INR

Can anybody suggest how to go about this problem?

Hi Yogesh,
as far as i know, there is no standard functionality for that purpose, but there are workaround for it.
1. Modify the BSP Application.
 Go to SE80 --> Repository Browser --> BSP Application --> your WI name --> page with flow logic --> double click on page1.htm --> Event handler tabstrip --> on the drop down selection press F1 --> add a function module that call you BPS function in specific event (e.g: OnInitialization).
2. Use WI-Exit Class / WI-Extention (ABAP OO).
Here you need to create sub class from Class: CL_UPWB_BSP_APPL, and assign the class to your WI. You can then add a function module that call you BPS function in method:
2.1. Load --> performed only once on intial execution of WI.
2.2. Initialisation --> called once for each server response.
2.3. Dispatch --> called at each action and also for each WI component.
You can see further information in SAP how to paper:

You can call your BPS function with BPS API FM (See F.Group: UPC_API)
But there is also more easier way to realize your ebit calculation. If you define your EBIT calc. manually in layout (define with manually defined Lead column). With this way, You will always get your EBIT analog with inputed values.
Then you add your EBIT calc.function to Layout Component in WI in property: 'Function After Data Change'.

P&L report (using web interface builder)???

Hi all,
Can someone explain BPS report concept for me?
For example,
In my P&L report, I will have fixed cost, variable cost, and revenue...etc.
I created fixed cost layout, variable cost layout, and revenue layout...etc.
My question is how those layouts generate a P&L report on the web interface??? If I enter planning data in the fixed cost layout and the values should be in the P&L report as well. How can I create P&L report in the web interface after I finished all layouts???Thank you for sharing

You should create a BEX Web Query and integrate it in the upper level of WEB Layout.
