Says it doesn't print but it does

I have a LaserJet Pro 1606dn. Windows 7 Pro computers print with no issues. A Windows 8 computer gets an error "Error printing on LaserJet Professional could not print document." However, the document prints. All updates have been applied. It happens every time, regardless of application. I see that you are having an issue with a message that states the printer is not going to print but it actually does.
I do have a few suggestions we can try.
First off, please make sure that you have the printer power cable connected directly to a wall outlet and not a power bar/strip. Here is a document that uses a LaserJet printer as an example but it is meant for HP products in general. Please click on the following link that explains the Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector.
The other step I think we should try is to run the HP Print and Scan Doctor.

Basically your player is telling you that you need to install the codecs that will play the compressed data within the AVI file.
AVI is a legacy file container in which the tracks of data are interleaved to maintain synchronization. This data can be encoded using many different audio and video codecs. Your problem is to determine which codecs you need for the player you are trying to use and install them if they are available. Failing that, your will either have to play the files in a different player which has the codec support your require built into the app or convert the content to a compression format that is natively compatible with the player you wish to use.
Since you have not stated what platform, operating system, and particular player you are targeting for playback, it is difficult to provide precise instructions for fixing your specific problem at this point. Suggest you try alternative players compatible with your system and platform to see if they will play the files, use a dedicated media information utility to determine the codecs needed for playback, or post a sample file for analysis.

HT1551 The light on the front of the base is flashing rapidly but I cannot get the system to come on. Book says it is having problems but it does not say what type of problems or how to fix it. Any suggestions?

Sorry the news here is not good. If the light just stays flashing then it is not able to succesfully startup the most basic part of the software. The only option at this point is to find a USB cable that will let you plug ATV into a computer with iTunes and do a full restore of the system firmware.

If there are problems with updating or with the permissions then best is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.

My iPad says that it sent a page to my printer, but it doesn't print (but printer does respond to iPhone)

I have printed from the iPad before, but now when I try to print, it goes through the process of contacting the printer, says it sent the job to the printer, and then nothing. Meanwhile, if I do the same from my iPhone to same printer on same wireless network, no problem.

Connection Method:
    Wireless via AT&T U-Verse Residential Gateway
Problem Description:
    Network printer not printing after first print job prints. Printer display panel says
    'printing...' and laptop display for printer status says "Error - Printing" (HP Officejet
    Pro 8500 A910 (Network) - User Intervention   Required).
I have run the HP Print Diagnostic Utility 4.1 for this printer when this situation has
    occured. It finds problem with Print queue - Print jobs are stuck in the print queue
    (list of files waiting to print). Click Fix to remove them, and then restart the print
    jobs. I click Fix and basically it tells me it is unable to clear the print queue, to turn
    the printer off and on again, restart the computer and re-run the diagnostic which
    then finds no issue with the printing.
    I am only able to print after turning the printer off and back on - and only one document
    or file successfully before reverting back to same behavior. This is not a solution as this
    is a printer used for small business.
    All functions worked just fine after initial install. Not sure when stopped working as it
    is used primarily during tax season. There have been no hardware changes to my setup
    since initial install.
    Fax: Printer receives fax but never prints (Now printing... displays on printer display until
    I turn printer off and back on.)
    Please help resolve issue. What information do you need?

I am having a very similar issue with two HP 8500 printers. One has never worked properly. The other one was working perfectly for about a year until Friday. Now it does the same thing as the other one.
Both are on wireless networks. One is at home. One is at the office.
The one at the office has now decided to quit working.
On the front of the printer, it states that it's printing, at the same time my computer says User Intervention Required, but the job never prints and the print queue piles up. I have to turn the printer off and turn it back on. It cleans its printhead and goes through testing.
Then the restart process clears my print queue, so I have to resend whatever print jobs I was going to print.
The printer prints for a while, and at some point decides not to again.
I have tried various fixes including the ones suggested here.
I opened a command prompt. I typed "net stop spooler" and pressed enter.
My computer says "Access is denied"
So I move to the bypass the spooler option. I open the printer properties, and click on the 'Print directly to the printer' radio button. Apply and OK.
I sent a new print job. An error comes up on my screen "Unable to Communicate with Printer".
After that, I tried running the HP Print Diagnostic Utility again. I select my printer and click "Fix Printing"
The Utility tells me that everything Checks Out Okay with the Printer. I have it send a test page.
An error pops up on my computer "Unable to Communicate with the Printer".
I click on the Control Panel, Printers, and my printer. The box says "User Intervention Required - Offline".
I turn the printer off and back on and now I can print....at least for a little while.
Please help.

Job doesn't work - but procedure does

I found some curious - for me.
I added a job for a procedure. The procedure contains 3 execute immediate with create table statements. The tables will be created on the current database, where the procedure runs. But the third statement select the datas from my table from another database (normal: select * from mytable ; 3.: select * from mytable@SERVER3). The 2 servers have a connection.
And now the curious:
If I start then procedure everything runs without errors or warnings. All tables will be created.
If I start the job manually (I use TOAD for Oracel: Execute this job immediately) it also runs fine.
But if the job starts automatically, the two select runs normaly, but the third doesn't. It must be in connection with the other database. Until now no admin here could help me or could say me how to solve the problem.
Now I hope that someone in these forum knows the problem and could help me.

I can't create a dblink - insufficient privileges. But our Admin created on. But it didn't worked. I mean, we had the same problems as before.
But I have a problem with the scheduler - which should solve the problem also. The folowing doesn't work:

Acrobat says document has no hyperlinks - but it does!

I created a pdf from a Publisher document using Acrobat Standard 7.0. There were hyperlinks created in the Publisher document but they don't work in the pdf document. When I check links by using the Advanced tool and check for links in the document, it says there are no hyperlinks in the document. Any ideas on how I can fix this so that the links work in the pdf?

Indeed, selecting the link tool you are able to see the links are there on p. 1 and not on p. 2. I am not sure what the problem might be. You can always add the links in the PDF with the link tool for the short-term. I agree that figuring out the problem is needed in the long term. I can't help much from my home computer. Maybe someone that uses Publisher can provide some insight in the meantime. Bill
FOLLOW UP:
The actual sample document does not appear to have been produced by PDF Maker (not sure PDF Maker works with Publisher, but I thought it did). To get the links using Acrobat, you have to use PDF Maker. After the fact you can try to automatically recognize links with one of the tools (Advanced>Document Processing, but you did not actually list them as such in the text) or add them with the link tool. How you got the links you have is a question that I can not answer. I would have expected either all or none. If you want to post the original document, I can try to see what I get with AA8 and Publisher 2007 (if I can figure out how to use Publisher - not that good at it!).

/dev entry doesn't exist but /devices does!

use correct syntax i.e tab space before /D and
also give driver name and minor name correctly.
no need to run devlinks when u say add_drv devlinks
get automatically executed.

I have an i-phone, which no-longer sync's, despite the fact that it say's that it is doing so! I'm not sure why it's stopped, but it has.
The phone has been synced on another laptop too, but no-longer sync's on my laptop, it's driving me crazy as it won't upload new songs, but will import my picture's!

Powershell reports that AD group doesn't exist (but it does)

Starting about two weeks ago, my Powershell script to verify that groups exist before attempting to add a user to them has started reporting that a particular group does not exist, even though it does.
It's not a new group, it doesn't have a horrific number of members, it's set up the same way as similar groups, has been around for a long time, has the same properties as similar groups, it's not disabled, etc. From the AD side I can see absolutely
nothing wrong. I can add users to it with no problem. And yet Get-ADGroup insists that it doesn't exist.
I know this isn't a Powershell failure because it's accurately finding every other group. It's just this particular one.
I did notify our "AD guy" but he hasn't had time to look into it. I'm hoping that I can get a jump-start on identifying and thus fixing the problem by posting this question.
I apologize for the lack of detail - I'll be happy to provide more info if I know what you need!

Does this happen from all computers running powershell or just one? Are you using the full dn when referencing the group

It is happening to any user on any computer. We're not using the full dn - the cmdlet used is "get-adgroup 'admin-mke'. Interestingly though, when I tried the dn instead, it does find the group: get-adgroup -identity 'cn=admin-mke,ou=exchange
groups,dc=na,dc=qb,dc=llp'.
Does that suggest that it IS a Powershell issue after all? It's just strange because it used to work, and all the other groups can be found with the simpler cmdlet.

SFTP - CyberDuck doesn't work, but WinSCP does?

I'm having issues connecting remotely to a server. Here are the details:
I am running Mac OS X Server, 10.4.11. The G5 (the server in question) is located in the main building and we have a satellite office that connects to it via SFTP. We have both PCs and Macs. Macs would connect using Cyberduck, and PCs connect with WinSCP. After doing some updates yesterday (not 10.4.11, but stuff like Quicktime, iTunes, Java, maybe Security update but I don't remember, etc), Cyberduck cannot stay connected. WinSCP does not have a problem.
Thinking that it may be a Cyberduck related issue, I tried other software like FireFTP (Firefox add-on), CuteFTP and sftp itself from the command line. I notice that it does successfully connect, but then terminates the connection.
Something interesting to note: my admin user, which is the only "local account" does not have any problems. I can connect with all the above stated programs.
Also, I can connect via ssh with any user as well via the command line.
I ran sftp -v from the command line and noticed that I was in fact connecting to the server, then being disconnected. Here are some of the errors I receive:

Also, I can't recreate the error I got at one point, but I also received an error stating:

This weekend I was able to fix the issue.
I downloaded 10.4.11 Combo Updater and installed it. After a reboot, all was well. I believe that the previous updates I did had something to do with the issues.

Adobe Reader doesn't print, but OSX preview works

Since I received my Mac I installed adobe reader and was not able to print PDF, but yesterday I open the PDF file with OSX Preview functionality and I was able to print. What a surprise.
I'm connected to the printed using Bonjour.
Has any of you found this problem?

Since no replies yet, have you tried Restting the Printing System & adding the Printer again?
Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions.
Any devices that previously appeared in your Printer List and Fax List will need to be added again after resetting the printing system.
Resetting the printing system in Mac OS X 10.5.x+++
To use the Reset Printing System feature in Mac OS X 10.5.x, follow these steps:
Choose System Preferences from the Apple menu.
Choose Print & Fax from the View menu.
Control-click on list of printers on the left side of the window, then choose "Reset printing system" from the contextual menu. If you don't see a list of printers, Control-click on the text "Click + to add a printer or fax" and select "Reset printing system..."
As an alternative, if you currently have one or more printers listed, you can Option-click the "-" (Remove printer) button.

I click on the upgrade, and all it does it says connectionh to upgrade server, but never does.

Notified to upgrade, so I click on it and the upgrade screen comes on but all it says is connecting to server with the green line going , but it never connects?? I use Windows 2000 Pro/SP4.

It is possible that you clicked "Block Images" in the right click context menu while trying to save an image.
