Scaling factors for queries with cell references

Hello Experts,
We have this issue, we have queries which have 2 global structures with the cell references for few of the elements of rows and columns structure.
we need the scaling factors and currencies of the query which are defined in the rows and columns structure are to be displayed as separate column but with in the cells.
We have checked for the queries with the 2 structures without cell references are displayed as we need. But for the queries with the cell references on the 2 structures are not displaying the scaling factors as we need in separatly.
how can we make the query to display the scaling factors along with currencies to be in separate column.
we have entry selection as currency where we have only one currency can be entered so the we do not have the problem of multiple currencies.
please find the screen shot how we need the scaling factors to be displayed for the queries with cell references.
We have scaling factors enabled as 1000 for KFs and for % selections we have scaling factors as 1.
Thanks,
Santhosh

Hi
If 'Cell Editor' is been used then that query must have the structure in it. You have to select that 'structure' object in your 'VC Table'.
If you select that then you will get the required result in the output. This structure will be the structure where 'cell reference' is used in BI query, You have to select that structures name.

  • Create a VC Model for BEx queries with Cell Editor

    Hello All,
I am trying to create a VC Model for BEx queries with Cell Editor.
BW Development Team has created a BEX query with complex restrictions and calculations using Cell Editor feature of BI-BEX.
The query output in BEx analyzer is correct where all values are being calculated at each Cell level and being displayed.
But, while creating VC model, system is not displaying the Cells. Thus, no VC Model can be created.
    I have executed below steps:
    1. Created a VC Model for BEx Query - ZQRY_XYZ
    2. Create Iview -> Create a dataService -> Provide a Table from the Output
In the Column field system is not showing any of the Cells (present in Cell Editor)
Please help me to solve this issue.
    Thanks,

  • Changing scaling factor for each cell in Bex Analyzer

    Hi,
We have a query with 2 structure (1 structure in rows, 1 in columns). We execute the query with Bex Analyzer in Excel.
We would like to change the scaling factor for each cell. If we use the function 'Properties' for the active cell (context menu), we can change the scaling factor only for one cell.
Is it possible to change it for the complete table?
We use BI 7.0, patch 14.
    Thanks,

  • GetPivotData with cell reference in a Table

I was told that this might be a better place to post this question than Microsoft Answers for Office.
I have a Table in which I need to use a GetPivotData function.  I need to use a cell reference in that GetPivotData function.  I have done this before with no problem in a normal cell range, but it seems like the syntax when using a Table screws
things up.  Can anyone help me out here?
The GetPivotTable function would normally look like this if not in a Table.
=GETPIVOTDATA("[Measures].[Total Blocked Dollars]",'Sheet2'!$A$4,"[Dim Prod Ctrl No].[By Prod Ctrl No]","[Dim Prod Ctrl No].[By Prod Ctrl No].&[18418]")
That formula sits in a column called "Block" in my Table.  The 18418 sits in a column called "ID" in my table.  So what I have tried is:
    =GETPIVOTDATA("[Measures].[Total Blocked Dollars]",'--Report Blocks--'!$A$4,"[Dim Prod Ctrl No].[By Prod Ctrl No]",concatenate("[Dim Prod Ctrl No].[By Prod Ctrl No].&[",[@[ID]],"]"))
I have tried a few combinations like this but I can't seem to use a cell reference from a table (which requires the [@[field]] syntax) to work with the GetPivotData.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks!

That's not the issue.  The GETPIVOTDATA function is actually IN a table.  The arguments for the GETPIVOTDATA function need to reference a cell/column in the table, and it's only PART of the argument that needs to be replaced.  In the example
below the 18418 needs to be replaced with the data in the same row of the table in a column named ID.
=GETPIVOTDATA("[Measures].[Total Blocked Dollars]",'Sheet2'!$A$4,"[Dim Prod Ctrl No].[By Prod Ctrl No]","[Dim Prod Ctrl No].[By Prod Ctrl No].&[18418]")
    Does that clarify any?
    Thanks for the response!

  • Scaling factors for keyfigures

    Dear experts,
my client requirement is like this:
in the query out put , suppose we have 3 keyfigures. For keyfigures if i want to change the scaling factor from 10 to 1000 then it should refelct for all 3 keyfigures.instead of doing it for each individual keyfigure. Is that possible?.
    Let me know..
    Thanks

    Hi
I don't think so it is possible. generally in the query out put u will get the context menu (properties)on key figure value.
So scaling factor u need to define individually..

  • Scaling presentations for projectors with different resolutions.

    Dear All:
While in the process of creating a few presentations it occurred to me that I will be displaying it using different projectors in different venues. My current presentations have slide with a native resolution of 1400x1050 created for a Canon HD projector. I will soon be presenting with a newer Canon 1920x1200 projector but would like to retain the ability to project using lower resolution projectors so I don't have to depend on a new technology that most venues still don't offer.
Question: What should I do to ensure that my presentations are "universal" and can be displayed anywhere ? In case I create a presentation for the highest resolution (1920x1200) will lower resolution displays be able to scale it down and display it ? In this case will the quality be good, acceptable of just plain bad ? Are there any alternatives to this dilemma ?
    Thank you in advance,
    Joseph

Absenting any post-keynote software or hardware resizing, there no way I know to make them universal as such. 1920x1200 will output that image size. 1400x1050 that size. There's a few ways to look at it and go about it. Perhaps read following thread then ask some more if still not clear.
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=9204982&#9204982
As for hardware resizing in the projector or video hardware with so much gear of different makes out there who can predict how it will end up. Other's here would have some more experience with trying that out though.

  • Multiple Cell Selection Scaling Factor Issue within BEX

We have a report which we need to create views from where each view is simply a different scaling factor within 20 rows of a 50 row query.
Within WEB reporting, you can simply select all the cells you want, and then select the proper scaling via the context menu.
When you try to do the same thin in BEX though, only the first cell that is selected within the total selection is changed to the desired scaling factor selected.
So...is this a bug?  ...and/or how can we selectively change the scaling for multiple cells within BEX?
You can of course selectively choose which figures should have a specific scaling, but we need views saved and not queries for this....and to my knowledge you can't save views out of query designer.
    any thoughts?

When you try to do the same thin in BEX though, only the first cell that is selected within the total selection is changed to the desired scaling factor selected.
are you trying to do this with cell references or are you doing it for the entire row/ column ?
you can create cell refernces for the cells that require differenr scaling factor in the query designer and then using cell properties you can define a scaling factor of your choice.
To create a cell refence simply double click that cell OR right click>create new cell refernce.
then you will be able to see cell properties where you can define desired properties.
    Hope this helps you.

  • Cell Reference in Query Designer

    Dear Experts
I am using cell definitions in my report I used Selections and Formulas in a cell.
Now i want to use cell reference,
can any one provide step by step procedure for creating cell reference in a query designer.
    Regards
    Supraja.K

    Hi,
    Define Cell References
To define a cell in the table as a reference for subsequent use in formulas, select the cell and choose New Cell Reference in the context menu.
Give the cell reference a unique description (Column Name/Row Name for example) so that it can be quickly identified. Change the description in the Properties of the Selection/Formula dialog.
The cell reference is flagged in the table using the  symbol.
Define Changes to Basic Key Figures
      1.  To calculate changes to the basic key figures, place the cursor in the relevant cell, choose New Formula from the context menu and define the cell using the cell references as operands.
Define the formulas for the cells in the Reporting Period column as follows:
    Reporting Period / <Key Figure from the Rows> - Comparison Period / <Key Figure from the Rows>
Define the formulas for the cells in the Comparison Period column as follows:
Comparison Period / <Key Figure from the Rows> - Second Comparison Period / <Key Figure from the Rows>
       2.  Give the formulas a unique description (Column Name/Row Name for example) so that they can be quickly identified. Change the description in the Properties of the Selection/Formula dialog.
The formulas are flagged in the table using the  symbol.
    Define Cells...
You can define formulas and selection conditions explicitly for cells in queries with two structures. In this way you can override the cell values that are created implicitly from the intersection of the structure components. This function allows you to design much more detailed queries.
Define Cells... is only available for queries with two structures. For queries with only one structure, the symbol is deactivated.
If one or more exception cells have been defined for a query, this is shown by the  symbol on the status bar of the Query Designer.
    New cell reference
You can use any cell that you define in a formula. If you want to reuse the value from the implicit, generic cell definition that is automatically created at the intersection of the two structural components of a query, select this cell in the Cell Definition dialog box and, using the secondary mouse button, choose New Cell Reference. A description taken from the two structural components now automatically appears in the cell. The  symbol shows you that a cell reference exists for this exception cell. You can now reference to this cell. That is, you can reuse the implicit cell definition and do not have to create these values manually in a new selection.
    Regards,
    Marasa.

  • Changing scaling factor in web template

    Hi,
I need to change the scaling factor in a web template, which shows some different queries.
I have heard I can do that by using a specific method? Does anybody know how to change the
scaling factor for a specific web template?
    Thank you very much!
    Torben

    Hi,
I have now seen that it is possible to create an ABAP class with superclass CL_RSR_WWW_MODIFY_TABLE and override the method SCALING_FACTOR_CELL.
then I should fill in this class in the param-tag in the html.
BUT this is only possible in System 3.5, but not anymore in 7.0! Everywhere I can just find the sample coding for 3.5, but nothing for how to do this in BI 7.0...
So does anybody know, how I can use external ABAP classes as "user exits" in BI 7.0?
    Thank you for your help!

    Hi Volker,
go back to your query, and create a calculated KF with NODIM(key figure) - that will remove the currency from your report.  The scaling factors are to show the factor of 10 that you are using scaling (for example thousands).  There is no actual way to do this in the report designer.

  • Scaling factor problem in SAP Report Painter

    Hello,
I am  designing reports using various scaling factors for column representation.
The Scaling factor of 10 million is not working. It is observed that the scaling factor is working fine till 1 million i.e. 1,000,000.
If the scaling factor is increased to 10 million (or above) i.e. 10,000,000 still the figures are scaled at 1 million only.
Please let me know if any other settings have to be made to make this work as it is required in our reports to show figures in 10 million / 1 crore format. Attach below are the steps of a sample report to clarify the issue. Thanks.
    Details:
    Transaction:  GRR2
Report name: ZFRPT5 (Fixed Assets note)
    Report Group: ZB05
Path for setting the Scaling factor in the Report:
    Formatting => Columns=>Numeric format=>Scaling factor.
Selection parameter (on execution): Fiscal year
Have tried with many options. Would appreciate any help. Thanks.

    Hi,
plese chek the given details .here i am getting 1 million formate
    formate group "0"
    coloumn formate
       coluoumn width - 17'
       Right margin - '0'
    Numerical formate
    scaling factor - '1'
    Decimial placesses - ' 0.00'.
these are the settings for scaling formate. you will get 1 millions  as per this  settings

  • My cell references have changed from coordinates to header names in numbers

When i opened a SS i have been using for quite some time to add new data, I noticed the cell references in some cells had changed. Originally all had been cell coordinates and now most, but not all, are using header names. I've tried re-entering the data, filling down from a cell that still shows coordinates. Nothing works to get them back to using coordinates. Any ideas on why this happened and how to change things back?
Message was edited by: annmerb    Reading another post I got a hint to check Numbers Preferences. I know I had never gone in and checked "Use header names as references" but it was selected. I deselected it and references went back to coordinates. Since Had never changed the Preferences I hadn't thought to check there. Sorry to bother!

    Ann,
The default in the Blank Template is for Header Named cell references turned off. However, that may not be the case with all the other templates. Do you recall how this document began its life?

  • Changing scaling factor on multiple columns at once in WAD

I'm trying to create a command URL to change the scaling factor for all the columns of my report at once. I have two query structures (3 selection in one structure, 6 in the other), so based on the documentation I would have to create a URL like this (AAA/111/222 represents the 25-character structure IDs):
    <SAP_BW_URL DATA_PROVIDER='DP' CMD='SET_VALUE_PROPERTIES' SCALING_FACTOR='6'
    PRECISION='0' STRUCTURE_MEMBER_1='AAA' STRUCTURE_MEMBER_2='111'
    CMD_1='DATA_PROVIDER=DP&CMD=SET_VALUE_PROPERTIES&SCALING_FACTOR=6&PRECISION=0&
    STRUCTURE_MEMBER_1=AAA&STRUCTURE_MEMBER_2=222' CMD_2=...>
...and so on, with 18 separate command sequences. Is there an easier way to do this? I don't think I could spell out all 18 combinations anyway (AAA/111, AAA/222, AAA/333, BBB/111, BBB/222, ... , FFF/333) since I believe there is a limit to how long a command URL can be.
If I change the scaling factor in the properties box for one of the columns in the 3-item structure, it changes it for all 6 times that column appears in the report, but I can't reproduce this with a command URL.
    We're running BW 3.0B.
    Thanks,
    Jason
