Scanner unreachable please help me!! :-)
Hello,
I have a Windows 8 system and HP LaserJet 200 Color MPF M276 printer. All of a sudden the printer will not scan documents, but it will print and copy documents just fine. This is the error message I get when trying to print:
"Scanner communication cannot be established. Ensure your product is powered on, check the connection, and ensure your networkis functioning properly. If these conditions are correct, restart the product and try scanning again.
If you installed this printer by IP address, then you might need to update the UP address. Use the Update IP Address item in the Start menue entry for this printer.
If you are running firewall software, it may be blocking scan communication. Please visit .... to congigure your firewall."
Please help! Thank you so much!Hi @ashneedshphelp ,
I see that you are getting a communication error when trying to scan. I will certainly do my best to help you.
You can always restore your computer back to a earlier time when everything was working properly.
How to refresh, reset, or restore your PC on Windows 8.
If you would prefer not to do the System Restore, download and run the Print and Scan Doctor. It will diagnose the issue and might automatically resolve it. Find and fix common printer problems using HP diagnostic tools for Windows?
Check the Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) services:
Click the Windows icon (), type services.msc in the Search programs and files box, and then click the services.msc link under Programs. If prompted, click Yes.
In the Services window, right-click Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) service, and then click Properties.
Click the Dependencies tab.
Make sure that Remote Procedure Call (RPC) and Shell Hardware Detection are listed, and then close the Properties window.
In the main Services window, make sure that Remote Procedure Call (RPC) and Shell Hardware Detection show as Started in the Status column. If they do not, continue to the next step to start the service.
In the Services window, right-click Windows Image Acquisition.
If the option to start the service is available, click Start.
If the option to stop the service is available, click Stop. When the service stops, right-click Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) again, and then start the service.
Close the Services window.
You might have to configure the firewall.

Try and scan again.
What were the results when you ran the Print and Scan Doctor? (did it print or scan, any error messages)

Scanner Unreachable PLEASE HELP
I am trying to scan something but he gives me this error :
"Scanner communication cannot be established. Ensure your product is powered on, check the connection, and ensure your network is functioning properly. If these conditions are correct, restart the product and try scanning again.
If you installed this printed by IP address, then you might need to update the IP address. Use the Update IP Address item in the Start menu entry for this printer.

I have windows 8.1 64 bit and that link hp.com/go/wirelessprinting is broken and also the print and scan doctor is broken.
Before this, the scan function was working fine and now is not working too, I can only use the print function wich is working good.I do not have problems with the cables or something else, i`ve checked an re-checked all the wires and restarted the printer several times, I want to say that I am not using and I never used the wireless connection.
Thanks!Hi @RazvanE39,
Welcome to the HP Forums!
I noticed that you are getting the "scanner communication cannot be established," error with your HP Deskjet 2050 running on Windows 8.1. I am sorry to hear this, but happy to help!
I would recommend to go through the steps indicated in this guide, HP Scan Software Does Not Open or Scan on a Printer Using a USB Connection in Windows. You can also get the HP Print and Scan Doctor at this link. HP Print and Scan Doctor for Windows.
Hope this helps, and have a great day!

Problem with horizontal scroll navigation pattern, please help
Hello,
I am trying to create navigation pattern for portfolio website which features horizontal scroll.
Here is a draft of what im trying to achieve:
Home
As you can see it's built based on containers - in every one there will be three photos and as you scroll down the page, the containers go left and you experience horizontal scrolling
The problem I am currently facing is this:
On a 1920x1200 resolution when you are scrolling down (starting from the top of the page), the first container (in the beginning) is in fact going left as I want it to, but at certain point (when it's just a little bit behind page margin) it just disappears. I would like to have the effect of container "traveling" out of view area naturally, so that when u are looking at a second container you could still see the first one and the third one.
In other words I would like these containers to leave the screen in the same way they appear - smooth motion, not the sudden disappear...
What am I doing wrong ?
If I recreate same draft but without using muse widgets for containers (instead I use for example single image) it works OK.
Also I noticed, that if the container is more narrow, the effect doesnt occur - like last conatiner in the exaple, it travels the way I want it to.
Thank you for any advice.

Please help me install Pattern Maker?
Hi,
At this url:
http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/thankyou.jsp?ftpID=4687&fileID=4377
I am trying to download the plugin:
CS5_Optional_PlugIns_Installer.dmg
The files included are:
CS5 Optional Extension Plug-Ins.mxp
and
CS5 Optional Plugins.mxp
When I attempt to install either of these two files, I get the following error message:
I’m attempting to place the installs into the Applications> Photoshop CS5 > Plugins > Optional Plugins
I'm on a Mac OS 10.6.5
What am I doing wrong?
Thank you so much in advance.
LindaHi Linda,
Sorry if I confused, but I just want to make sure that you don't have all the Optional Extensions installed and enabled (as fallout from trying to get Pattern Maker working). There are two .mxp files and you mentioned trying to install both of them. I haven't seen the actual error you get, so to be safe, I'm suggesting that you make sure to disable all the Optional Extensions (and likely all the optional plug-ins that you don't need too). The installers are/were all or nothing (I'm not sure if the installer .mxp for Optional Extensions has been removed yet).
The quickest way to uninstall is using the CS5 Service Manager application (IF it is working correctly). The quickest way to tell if they are installed is probably to look in this folder: Adobe Photoshop CS5/Plug-Ins/Extensions.
There should only be 5 there by default: Enable Async IO, FastCore, MMXCore, MultiProcessor Support, and ScriptingSupport.
Let me know if you still have questions,
regards,
steve

Subject: Photoshop Macintosh Please help me install Pattern Maker?
Hi Linda,
If you installed the Optional Extensions Plug-Ins.mxp you'll want to uninstall all of them (or disable them and only enable individual ones that are needed). To uninstall, use the CS5 Extension Manager. To disable them, individually rename each with a tilde(~) as the first character.

Hi.Since I upgraded to Maverick my scanner which is Fuji Xerox Docuprint CM205 fw could not be used for scanning as mac wouldn't find the scanner. Can anyone help please?
There's an alternative ...
Using Image Capture as a scanner:
Connect the scanner to your Mac whether Wi-Fi or USB.
Launch Image Capture.
Click the very small black box bottom right side of the Image Capture window.
You'll see this pop up menu: Connecting this (device) opens:
You can select a default app to scan (Image Capture) and select a folder from the Imort To pop up menu on the right to save scanned files to. -
When I go to Edit > Fill and choose "Pattern". I check the "Script: box and click the drop-down arrow. The following display: Brick Fill / Cross Weave / Place Along Path / Random Fill / Spiral /
Symmetry Fill ------ but NOT Tree.
What is wrong? I've reset everything - still no Tree.
Please help.
Thank youSilkrooster - you did the job ! Thank you so very much.
Of course, this brings me to another question if you don't mind answering. Is there some place I can look when updates come up in Cloud for me to "update" that I can read about each change? I see this sort of situation happens often for me and I would like to be able to try to find answers on my own instead of asking each time. (This way, I'd help myself learn the program too.) I know you have an online manual - but the content is not alphabetized which makes it very time-consuming to sift through.
I am seriously deficient in "tech" type stuff and a simple, alphabetized content somewhere would be so very much help. Maybe you have it and I just don't know where to look.
Thanks again for telling me about the Tree pattern being moved. YEAH !! -

When I try to create pdf from scanner, Acrobat shuts down, please help!!
Hi miketayber,
We would love to help, but need to know a bit more to get to the root of the problem. Please tell us:
What version of Acrobat are you using
What operating system you're on
Whether you've been able to scan previously
What you're scanning to (do you have the latest drivers?)
Is there an error message or number associated with the crash?
We look forward to hearing back from you.

Okay, so my friends think it is funny to change the passcode on my iPhone.
Maybe you should get new friends.
I'm not sure that recovery mode works when you have to trust the computer, but did you try it?
If you can't update or restore your iOS device - Apple Support
If that won't work, perhaps you can use Find my iPhone from a computer in your iCloud.com account to erase the device.
iCloud: Erase your device - Apple Support
This has nothing to do with the Find my iPhone app being installed on the phone, but you do have to have Find my iPhone activated in the iCloud settings on the phone. -
5 days old iPhone 5 iOS 6.1.4 battery life please help
My phone is 5 days old and i am so fed up with battery life. I disabled all data settings and location services and i have nothing in notification center for any push notification. But still i lost 40% of the battery in half a day with just 5 mins of voice call and 15 mins of texting. Phone was idle the rest of the time and when i used i had brightness at around just 10-15% this is my first iPhone and totally disappointed as i saw battery to last a full day of normal usage in the internet. I am totally fed up with apple. What should i do now ? I am a student and invested an year's savings of mine to get this phone. I am totally fed up. Someone please help me.
You have to tell us what your usage pattern is like, what your reception/signal strength is, and what network type you are using (E/3G/4G/LTE)
To note, the more the screen is on (in long intervals 2+ minutes) the shorter the battery life is.
Streaming music over 3G will last 6 hours if the screen stays off for most of that time.
Email, messages, web browsing will last most of the day.
Since you have GSM, your phone should last 10 hours with light usage. -
Please help with SIP configuration on 2801 router
Hi All.
Please help me to setup a SIP account. I’m already struggling to do that for a few days, and can’t find out how to finish that. We have 2xISDN lines running, so I need to add a SIP trunk to existing config.
The information from our SIP provider:
We have issued the following DDI range: 018877000 – 99
There is no need to register the DDI’s as these will be offered to your PABX IP address provided to in the completed SIP trunking form.
Configuration details are as follows:
Our Primary Proxy:- 99.234.56.78
Codec supported:- G711Alaw, G729 (G711Alaw is the preferred codec)
Fax Support:- T38 and G711Alaw
DTMF:- RFC2833 and INFO
CLI Method:- Remote-Party-ID
Trunk doesn’t require registration; you just need to send Invite. In cisco this is done through Dial-peer session-target command. We are authenticating your IP address for outgoing calls and incoming calls we then forward to the IP mentioned in the sip form.
This is a SIP configuration on Cisco2801 router (I used outgoing calls only):

I made some changes in the router configuration.
I removed FA0/0.2 Voice interface from Voice service voip configuration (bind control source-interface FastEthernet0/0.2 and bind media source-interface FastEthernet0/0.2). And now it’s using ip address 10.1.1.101 (data ip).
The debugging is changed now. I can send and receive a respond from SIP server. But It shows an error: SIP/2.0 404 Not Found
Then it moves to ISDN line, and use this line to make a call.

Then I removed SIP-UA as I was told there is no registration necessary, only Dial-peer configuration.
But it didn’t affect anything.
Then I add translate-outgoing called 10 command to dial-peer 9000, nothing happened.
Really stuck and don't know where to look at.
Any help will be highly appreciated.
Thanks.Hi Dan.
Yes, I saw that RTP debugging, but what can I change there? Maybe I need to open more ports on ASA for RTP like 19412?
I use Cisco ASDM for ASA to make changes.
There are static NAT rules for: Server source IPs(10.1.1.100) to Outside(translated IPs, 88.99.77.44) for a few ports.
Also I added Security policy access rules for LAN: Any to SIP, and Outside: SIP to any.
For NAT:
I can't add this: for LAN: STATIC ROUTER IP 10.1.1.101 (AS SOURCE) UDP 5060 TO OUTSIDE IP 88.99.77.44
(AS TRANSLATED) UDP 5060
Because there is already translation for the Server.
Debugging looks like that now. There is no Received: SIP/2.0, but I can make an outside call with no audio.

Hi everyone,
I am having a problem with my Mac OS X 10.7.5 mac book air , there are constant pop pups and small windows with ads blinking constantly opening up on my safari in front of everything?? it is constantly interupting me and makes me mistakingly click on it then another new windows open behind the one im using..
I am not too sure if thats a virus or trojan.. I always thought that macs didn't get virus? this looks like one to me… any experts around? please help me fix it with your instructions? really don't know what to do... thanksThose are not viruses. You have probably installed some malware:

Helpful Links Regarding Malware Protection
An excellent link to read is Tom Reed's Mac Malware Guide.
Also, visit The XLab FAQs and read Detecting and avoiding malware and spyware.
See these Apple articles:
Mac OS X Snow Leopard and malware detection
OS X Lion- Protect your Mac from malware
OS X Mountain Lion- Protect your Mac from malware
About file quarantine in OS X
If you require anti-virus protection Thomas Reed recommends using Dr.Web Light from the App Store. It's free, and since it's from the App Store, it won't destabilize the system. If you prefer one of the better known commercial products, then Thomas recommends using Sophos.(Thank you to Thomas Reed for these recommendations.) If you already use Sophos, then be aware of this if you are using Mavericks: OS X Mavericks- Sophos Anti-Virus on-access scanner versions 8.0 - 9.1 may cause unexpected restarts
From user Joe Bailey comes this equally useful advice:
The facts are:
1. There is no anti-malware software that can detect 100% of the malware out there.
2. There is no anti-malware that can detect anything targeting the Mac because there
is no Mac malware in the wild, and therefore, no "signatures" to detect.
3. The very best way to prevent the most attacks is for you as the user to be aware that
the most successful malware attacks rely on very sophisticated social engineering
techniques preying on human avarice, ****, and fear.
4. Internet popups saying the FBI, NSA, Microsoft, your ISP has detected malware on
your computer is intended to entice you to install their malware thinking it is a
protection against malware.
5. Some of the anti-malware products on the market are worse than the malware
from which they purport to protect you.
6. Be cautious where you go on the internet.
7. Only download anything from sites you know are safe.
8. Avoid links you receive in email, always be suspicious even if you get something
you think is from a friend, but you were not expecting.
9. If there is any question in your mind, then assume it is malware. -
