SCCM 2012 Report for Software registered in Add/Remove programs

Hi
Am looking to create an SCCM 2012 Report for Software registered in Add/Remove programs on windows 7 machines but dont have enough experience with report builder to do this.
Was hoping someone could help.

When i use the url i still only see the following categories
Administrative Security
Asset Intelligence
Client Push
Client Status
Compliance and Settings ManagementHave looked through them all and that one is not there
the only software ones are the following

  • SCCM collection report for software NOT on a workstation

One of the default reports in SCCM generates a report on the number of software titles in a collection using 2 prompts(Collections, Software Title)
    SELECT DisplayName0, Count(ProdID0) AS 'Green', Publisher0, Version0, @CollID as CollectionID
    FROM v_Add_Remove_Programs arp
    JOIN v_FullCollectionMembership fcm on arp.ResourceID=fcm.ResourceID
    WHERE ((Publisher0 = @softwarename) OR (DisplayName0 = @softwarename) )
    and fcm.CollectionID=@CollID
    GROUP BY DisplayName0, Publisher0, Version0
    ORDER BY Publisher0, Version0
The following lists all collections with the total membership.
SELECT @CollID.Name, v_Collection.Comment,v_Collection.CollectionID, COUNT(*) as [Members] FROM v_Collection,v_FullCollectionMembership
    where v_Collection.CollectionID=v_FullCollectionMembership.CollectionID
    group by v_Collection.Name ,v_Collection.Comment,v_Collection.CollectionID
    order by v_Collection.Name
How can we get the total membership from the collection prompt in the top statemenent and subtract the "Count(ProdID0)" to get the number of computers without the software title?

i dont understand your question completely.why do you want to subtract the count(prodID) from total membership of collection ? you know that ,count(prodID) and count membership(collection) are two complete different things and they are not related at all.
can you please be more specific ,what you are trying to achieve ?

  • SCCM 2012: report for inventory of different hardware types?

    Hi,
Is there a default report which shows how much of each model (vendor, type, f.e. 24 Dell Lenovo, 80 Dell ...) we have in our company?
    J.
    Jan Hoedt

    Hi Jan
I have used this SQL Query when I am doing projects to get an overview of models by manufactor.
    select
    GSCS.Manufacturer0 as [Manufacturer],
    GSCS.Model0 as [Model],
    count(*) as [Count]
    from v_R_System RS
    left join v_GS_COMPUTER_SYSTEM GSCS on RS.ResourceID = GSCS.ResourceID
    Group by GSCS.Model0, GSCS.Manufacturer0
    Order by GSCS.Model0
It is not a report in itself, but If you create a new empty report in ConfigMgr 2012 and open it with Report builder, you can use this query to built a very basic "Count Hardware Models by Manufactor".
But I think it will give you the information you are looking for.

  • Software Metering and Add Remove Programs Data

So, I pull a lot of data in from SCCM into our helpdesk system (Service-Now). I am trying to pull in the metering data to link it to the software installations so that from our helpdesk system, our Software Asset Managers can easily see a computer, the software
on it, the usage data, who uses it, and this all ties into our licensing information which is all stored in Service-Now. This would give our SAMs one-stop shopping for all they need.
The problem I'm seeing though is that it doesn't look like the metering data exactly or easily matches back to the data in the add_remove_programs_data table. Below is the query which I'm using to pull in all of the metering usage data:
    select sug.ResourceID, sug.StartTimeLocal StartTimeLocal, sug.EndTimeLocal, mf.ProductName, sug.ProductVersion, sug.UserName, sug.CompanyName from v_gs_softwareusagedata sug, v_MeteredFiles mf where mf.MeteredFileID = sug.FileID
The problem with this, is it seems to be dependent on the name of the metering rule. The metering rule names are all over the place, and this is making it to where about 90% of the metering data isn't matching with installations. Is there some kind of system-generated
identifier between the metering usage records and the add_remove_programs data?
If not, then this might be a futile project, as I don't like to rely on the people who create the metering rules to make sure that all of the rules are named exactly the same as the display name from the add_remove_programs_data.
    Thanks.
    Thanks

There is no direct link between ARP data and SWM data. On top of that even if you did make your SWM rules name to match the title of an ARP software. This would be invalid as, many application share the same exe name. Adobe is the biggest example. thereby
    give you wrong numbers.
Now what you might want to look at is 3rd party software that can do this.

  • How to show a filter of the values in SCCM 2012 report?

I didn't see a forum for SCCM 2012 reporting, only SCCM 2007 Reporting, so I hope I am posting in the correct forum for this.
We upgraded to SCCM 2012 R2 and when running a report and entering values we can no longer type in a filter and then see a filtered list of values like in SCCM 2007.
Is there a solution for this?  This was very useful especially in the Add/Remove report because many times we don't know exactly what to enter.
Below is a snapshot of what we did in SCCM 2007.

Garth, unfortunately, I don't.   I was fair at SCCM 2007 reporting and modifying SQL statements, but it seems everything has changed with SCCM 2012 reporting.  For the specific SCCM 2012 report I mentioned,  "Computers with specific software
registered in Add Remove Programs", is there some code I could paste in somewhere to get it to operate like the SCCM 2007 report?
Are you using BIDS or Report Builder. (Keep in mind that I recommend BIDS over RP)
    Here are the basic steps:
Review the SQL for the Prompt
Add a variable to the prompt
Import; refresh the SQL query within the dataset
Move that the new variable is BEFORE the existing variable
Enter in the Prompt text “Enter computer filer”
Test to make sure everything is nice
    Upload the report.

  • Status Report for Software Update Deployement

    Hi,
I am looking for SCCM2012 query for patch status from specific deployment and specific collection. I need the following details in my patch
report with against each machine name
    "Total Number of updates required"
"Total Number of updates installed successfully"
    "Total Number of Updates Failed"
    "Total Number of Updates installing"
    "Total Number of updates downloading"
    etc.
    Thanks

That's a fairly challenging report request.  You'll have to pull together information from many different tables, and from what I can tell, you're also looking for some real-time information with the installing/downloading portions as well.
This report has some of what you're requesting:
    http://anotherblabla.wordpress.com/2012/03/06/sccm-usefull-software-update-reports/
    Some good stuff here too:
    http://pleasepressanykey.blogspot.com/2010/08/sccm-patchmgmt-custom-reports.html
You should also consider taking a look at some of the out-of-the box reports in 2012 for Software updates.  I don't believe any have
exactly what you're looking but I think most if not all of the components are there and you could extract those and combine them into a new report.
If you're new to reporting, this is a decent guide that I followed and it's decent and will help you get some of the basics.

  • Package status not appended in the Add Remove Programs in control panel after the installation.

    Hi,
I have a strange problem with "Package status not appended in the Add Remove Programs after the installation.".
Like, onec the package is installed via SCCM, it should be listed in the Add Remove programs with the package name, version and the install date.
At times on random machine these details are not appended. Although the application works fine on the machine, but the correct details are not populated in Add/ Remove programs.
There is no issue with the package as it shows correct details on few other machine where it is installed.
This behaviour is random on random machines. Hence, very difficult to track the reason.
    System Security analyst at CapG

    Hi Jason,
Yes, i have tried Jorgen's suggestion, ans as said earlier. It install the application smoothly on any other machine (any random machine) perfectly with correct details in Add Remove Programs.
As mentioned earlier, the same package, same environment, same set of machines with same OS, it installs correctly on few machines.. and on few its just misses to add correct details in Add Remove progs.
If it was related to package, how does it install corretly on other machines?? How does the same package installs correctly when done manually or by that means by PSEXEC.
To a matter of fact, we are checking our package for the multiple times now, just to make sure it is buldled correctly with correct install scripts. We are trying to search different multiple ways to see what makes the package to skip the
correct entry in the Add Remove.
To add, this is not with one package, it happens with random package with random machine. There is not typical behaviour that could be tracked.
All the installations done via SCCM 07, with admin account.
This looks more tricky and complex then as simple as saying, its the fault of packaging.
I hate to say this but this is NOT a CM07 problem, You will need to work with your packaging team, and use tools like process monitor, psexec and the msi log to determine why it is failing.
Your first step is to find a pc where you can consistent get the setup to fails. once you get that you can use process monitor and the msi log files to determine what is going on.

  • Add/Remove programs after update?

I have just updated the firmware for my ipod 5G
Add/Remove programs has now got 3 versions of my ipod listed.
    2005-10-12 67.8MB
    2006-01-10 117.00MB
    2006-03-23 168.00MB
Do I keep each of these or is the latest update cumulative of the others? I don't want to upset the ipod in anyway as I know updating firmware can cause issues but I would be grateful for advice re: uninstalling older firmware?
I would soon accumlate a lot of entries for my ipod if they all had to remain. I am not even sure what way I would re-install the ipod if I reinstalled XP as I now have the three version - hope this makes sense. Thanks

Thanks for your reply - any order for removal.
The first install was very small but the other one is much bigger so not too sure which to uninstall first or if I just remove the last firmware update but leave my orginal 'tiny' install file? I 'think' it may be the last firmware update only.

  • Report ID94 specific software registered with Add or Remove Programs = requested software not listed

    Hi All,
Our company uses SCCM 2007 and we don't really have an SCCM officer here. I kind of try to get things done by googling a lot but for this i can't find a a solution so i open a thread.
I'm a newbie to SCCM 2007 so I don't know if i'm about to ask a dumb question but here I go.
I'm trying to pull out a report for the count of computers that run a desktop version of our Ticketing Tool.
I found the perfect standard report for this in SCCM 2007 which is: Count of instances of specific software registered with Add or Remove Programs.
in there i have to set two values: 1) the software that i'm willing to count, 2) the collection in which to search.
for value number 2 I have no problems.
my problem is in value number 1. When I click the value button to list all known software, he lists all software in a alphabetic way. problem is that it stops at letter "I"... the software i'm looking for starts with an O so it's not listed.
also if I type the software and then click Values... it replies that it couldn't find the software.
    am I doing something wrong?

it sound like you are using the filter option with in the old and "crappy" ASP reports. first you should stop using then and only  use the SSRS reports. secondly the filter option will only show the first 1000 rows, there is a reg key to
    allow it to show more.

  • Need to make collection Query statement by sccm 2012 sp1 for Count of Licenses by License Status

I want to make collection Query statement by sccm 2012 sp1 for all windows activated and all non-activated windows.
    Ahmed Sherif

Have a look at the Software Licensing Product attribute classes when creating a Query - remember to choose
System Ressource when creating the Query. You would have to enable this class to be collected during Hardware Inventory. Go to
Client Settings -> Hardware Inventory ->
Set Classes -> Select Software Licensing Product.
This Class is part of the Asset Intelligence classes so you could enable it from there as well.
Another way to accomplish is to use Compliance Settings to get this information.
Create a Configuration item that query the Win32_WindowsProductActivation WMI Class, if you are using XP and the
    SoftwareLicensingProduct class for later os´s
Add this Configuration Item to a Baseline ad deploy it to your Collections as needed.
When the Baseline has been evaluated you can use this information to create query
Machines reported as compliant is actived and machines reported as Non-Compliant is not activated.
You can read about the Win32_WindowsProductActivation WMI Class here:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa394520(v=vs.85).aspx
    and the SoftwareLicensingProduct here:

  • SCCM 2012 Report equivalent of WSUS Report

In the old WSUS admin console you could set your display under All Computers (and other computer groups) to show patches that were Failed/Needed/Applied. I found this EXTREMELY useful. I can not find an equivalent within SCCM 2012. Does such a report exist
and if not, how do I go about making one? Software Updates A - Compliance, Compliance 1 is sort of close but it makes you click multiple times to get one report and you have to do it for each group. In WSUS all you had to do was click once or twice and I see
no option equivalent to All Computers.

  • SCCM 2012 report w/ selectable collection

I am trying to create a report with a selectable collection parameter.  The original query I'm using is as follows (Stolen from
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/infratalks/archive/2013/09/10/sccm-2012-reporting-get-system-serial-number-amp-create-custom-ssrs-report.aspx):
    Select sys.Name0 Machine, CS.UserName0 'User Name',OS.Caption0 OS, OS.CSDVersion0 'Service Pack',CS.Manufacturer0 Manufacturer,CS.Model0 Model,BIOS.SerialNumber0 'Serial Number',RAM.Capacity0 Memory, cs.SystemType0
    From v_R_System SYS
left join v_GS_COMPUTER_SYSTEM CS on sys.Name0=cs.Name0
left join v_GS_PC_BIOS BIOS on sys.ResourceID=bios.ResourceID
left join v_GS_OPERATING_SYSTEM OS on sys.ResourceID=OS.ResourceID
left join v_GS_PHYSICAL_MEMORY RAM on sys.ResourceID=ram.ResourceID
      --Where sys.Name0 = @variable
      order by sys.Name0
This works fine, but it gives me that information for EVERY machine in our infrastructure globally.  I am only interested in getting this information from machines in certain collections and I want to be able to select the collection each time I run
the report.  I found this article:
http://it.peikkoluola.net/2013/06/02/report-with-a-selectable-collection-parameter-sql/ and followed the steps, but cannot run the report successfully.  I'm guessing it has something to do with needing to modify my query, but I am a newb with SQL and
have no clue what or where I should be tweaking.  Just adding "WHERE(dbo.v_FullCollectionMembership.CollectionID
= @COLLID)" gives me a syntax error.  Moving it above "Order by sys.name0" gives an error about not being bound to anything, which makes sense but as I mentioned, I don't know what to tweak.  Help!  Thanks.

    Select sys.Name0 Machine, CS.UserName0 'User Name',OS.Caption0 OS, OS.CSDVersion0 'Service Pack',CS.Manufacturer0 Manufacturer,CS.Model0 Model,BIOS.SerialNumber0 'Serial Number',RAM.Capacity0 Memory, cs.SystemType0
    From v_R_System SYS
left join v_GS_COMPUTER_SYSTEM CS on sys.Name0=cs.Name0
left join v_GS_PC_BIOS BIOS on sys.ResourceID=bios.ResourceID
left join v_GS_OPERATING_SYSTEM OS on sys.ResourceID=OS.ResourceID
left join v_GS_PHYSICAL_MEMORY RAM on sys.ResourceID=ram.ResourceID
      join v_fullcollectionmembership fcm on fcm.resourceid=sys.resourceid
      Where fcm.collectionid = @COLLID
      order by sys.Name0
Try the above, note that @COLLID is a placeholder for a variable.  It is presumed that you are creating this using Report Builder 3.0 (or better) or some other SQL tool to create reports for use on your SRS reporting point.  If you happen
to be using Report Builder, once you save the above, under parameters you'd have a place for COLLID.  Now, what you want is to be able to have that parameter be populated with your collection names, so that you can select from the list when the report
    is run.
So... another DataSet, with a query like:
    select collectionid, name
    from v_collection
    order by name
Then, back to your parameters, COLLID, available values, Get values from a query, and you'll want to use that dataset you just made, and Value field is collectionid, and Label field is Name.
If you want to test the top query in regular sql, don't use @collID.  figure out the collectionid of a specific collection, and put in where fcm.collectionid='ABC00012'
    Standardize. Simplify. Automate.
