SCCM Application Instalation timing reports?

Hi,
I am trying to get a report on "when an application is installed" on a machine.
From going through the reports - the closest report that I can see is called the
"Software Distribution - Application Monitoring - Hidden" if I drill down.
So this rasies a few questions.
1. I have noticed the time is reported in UTC which is inconvient - I would prefer local time.
Looking at other posts it has been mentioned the only way to fix this is to edit the report. But how I can edit it?
Or maybee safer to copy it somehow to another report.
2. Is this the best report I should be using to get this data? Or is there a more suitible report.
3. If I am looking at a whole machine and I want to time multiple deployments. For example
5 applications going to a machine is there a report for this or do i need to roll my own.
Or run the above report 5 times.
Another other suggestions greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Ward.

Hi,
What is the report name before you drill into "Software Distribution - Application Monitoring - Hidden"?
The following thread might get you start.

  • SCCM Application Catalog Query / Report - List of Applications a User Can Install

    Hello,
In SCCM, if a user launches the application catalog, they are presented with a list of application that they have access to install. We don't use the approval request feature.   I was wondering if anyone knows of a report or SQL query that would
return the same results as if I launching the application catalog as that user.   I just want the name of the application.
E.g.  List all applications ADDOMAIN\JOHNDOE has access to install.

    Visio 2010
    Access 2010 etc.
    Thanks.

Find the collections were the user is member of (v_R_User -> v_FullCollectionMembership) and see which available deployments are available (v_DeploymentSummary).

  • Installed SQL Reporting Services 2012 on SharePoint 2013 Server. SQL Reporting Service not available In the list of runnning services or new service applications

Hi I'm trying to setup SQL reporting services in a SharePoint 2013 farm consisting of:
    4 WFE's
4 App Servers (NLB Central Admin x 4 servers)
4 App Severs for SSRS (Light limited SharePoint services running)
I've installed SSRS 2012 SP1 by following the guide (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg492276.aspx) on one of the SSRS SharePoint 2013 servers and ensuring Reporting Services - SharePoint and Reporting Services Add-in for SharePoint Products is selected.
All completed without errors and I have even upgraded to SP2 for troubleshooting but no joy.
I've then gone into SharePoint Central Admin and I cannot see SQL Reporting Service available In the list of runnning services on the server I have just installed SSRS on and going to manage service applications I cannot see in the new dropdown menu SQL
    Reporting Services.
I have ran the following commands in the SHarePoint management shell:
    Install-SPRSService and Install-SPRSSeviceProxy
    and
    get-spserviceinstance -all |where {$_.TypeName -like "SQL Server Reporting*"} | Start-SPServiceInstance
The reply was that the service was already online on the server.
So in powershell all seems ok but it does not appear in central administration.
I have also moved Central Administration to the SSRS SharePoint server too.
Any other suggestions? Here is the same problem but in SP2010 (http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/office/en-US/6a21cc05-1f9b-49ad-a9bb-44aa5b3ce312/action?threadDisplayName=after-installing-sql-reporting-services-service-for-sharepoint-2012-service-is-not-in-the-list-of)
In my lab environment of a 4 server SP2013 farm it worked immediately when i installed it on the app server (CA host) so I dont think it is my install strategy.
I guess my next attempt is to install SSRS on an app server with central administration hosted.
    Thanks

I had the same issue on 2 different environments.
I had 2 application servers. One had Central Administration. I installed SSRS on the other one and it never appeared in the Service Applications in SharePoint.
When I also provisioned Central Administration on the other application server and went to the service applications using Central Admin on that server, the SSRS service application was there.
Since then I always install SSRS on the server which hosts Central Admin. No issues then.

  • Applications Installed through task sequence not showing up in Software Center

In the task sequence we use for our OSD Windows 7 machine build, we have Custom-Install Application steps which install a number of of our Applications.  Each of these Applications has the "Allow this application to be installed from the Install
Application task sequence action without being deployed" checkbox checked.  All of the Applications have the following properties set:
    Installation behavior: Install for system
Logon requirement: Whether or not a user is logged in
    Installation program visibility: Hidden
When a machine is built using this task sequence, all of the Applications install successfully - they show up in Control Panel\Programs and Features, and they run correctly. However, none of them show up in the Software Center. I'm not seeing anything in
any of the logs that indicates a problem, and the Software Center remains empty even after running all the client evaluation cycle actions
Interestingly, if I add a couple of the newly build machines to a collection, then target deployments for the already installed Applications to that collection, after running the Machine Policy Retrieval and Evaluation Cycle the Applications immediately
show up in Software Center as installed.
Does anyone know if Applications installed through a task sequence do not show up in the Software Center by default, or could you give me some troubleshooting tips if this is not normal?
    Thanks for any suggestions!
    SCCM 2012 SP1, Single site, W7 clients

Why you deploy applications through task sequences? Task sequences are built and meant to be used with OSD, not application deployment.
To my knowledge, if you have application install step in a task sequence and you deploy that task sequence to a collection of machines, the software center on those machines only sees the task sequence itself, not the applications inside the task sequence.
If you want your applications to be shown in the software center, change the method of deploying stuff and deploy applications as they're are meant to.

  • [Forum FAQ] Troubleshooting error "The specified SQL server instance is not valid" when installing SCOM reporting service

    Symptom
If you have failed to install SCOM reporting service, you may encounter below error when you reinstall it:
“The specified SQL server instance is not valid”.
    (Figure 1)
    Figure 1.
    Reason
This issue may be caused by multiple reasons, for example the reasons in Figure 1.
However, you may find that SSRS and Report Server website are configured correctly and no SSL or proxy Server is used. In these scenario, you can open the log file under path
    to find the root reason:
    C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS11.MSSQLSERVER\Reporting Services\LogFiles
Later, you will find the error as below:
    ERROR: Throwing Microsoft.ReportingServices.Library.ReportServerDisabledException: , Microsoft.ReportingServices.Library.ReportServerDisabledException:
The report server cannot decrypt the symmetric key that is used to access sensitive or encrypted data in a report server database. You must either restore a backup key or delete all encrypted content. ---> System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException
(0x80090016): Keyset does not exist (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80090016)
    at System.Runtime.InteropServices.Marshal.ThrowExceptionForHRInternal(Int32 errorCode, IntPtr errorInfo)

    at Microsoft.ReportingServices.Library.ConnectionManager.<GetEncryptionKey>b__2()
    --- End of inner exception stack trace ---;
    Solution
According to the error message, you can delete encrypted content by following the steps below:
Open SQL Reporting Services Configuration Manager.
    Select “Encryption Keys”.
Click “Delete” to delete all encrypted content. (Figure 2)
    Figure 2.
After that, we can install SCOM reporting service again, after successfully install reporting service, we should see the SCOM operation console as below:
    Figure 3.
In addition, you may also encounter other errors when installing SCOM reporting service, and the troubleshooting steps may be different. However, we can also check SQL reporting
service logs to find the root reason.

  • After install Crystal Report Server 2011, can not access control tools

Afte install Crystal Report Server 2011, can not access control tools from web or from application.
My server OS is Windows 2008 R2 SP1. I follow the default setting. How to fix it?
    Error message is above.

Is Tomcat started?  On your Start menu you should have an option to get to "Tomcat  Configuration" or, under the CRS menu you can run the "Central Configuration Manager" to start Tomcat.
What URL are you using to connect to the web app?  By default Tomcat runs on port 8080 so your URL should look something like this:  "http://<servername>:8080/BOE/CMC" or "http://<servername>:8080/BOE/BI".
If Tomcat is running and you're trying to access it from another computer, check to see if the Windows Firewall is turned on for the server - if it is, turn it off for "Domain" access.
If Tomcat won't start, go to the folder where Tomcat is installed and then look in the "logs" folder.  There should be a file called "stderr.log" which you can open in Notepad to see what types of errors might be occurring (you can ignore any errors having to do with "persisted sessions".)  If there are other errors, post in the BI Platform space to get assistance.

  • Installing crystal reports 9 for the first time

    Hi,
I am trying to install Crystal Reports 9 for the first time.  We just received a package with 4 envelopes including Crystal Reports 9 Advanced, Standard, Professional, and Developer.  Each envelope also includes Crystal Enterprise Report Appliation Server which I don't think I need (or I'm not sure).  I have read a little bit on how I can go online to the SAP Service Marketplace and request license keys.  I have not requested a permanent license key yet.  I believe that I can install Crystal with a temporary key and then input the permanent key later.  What I have done is insert the installation CD for Crystal Reports 9 Developer and then input the product key code found on the back of the Crystal Enterprise Report Application Server CD cover that was packaged with the Crystal Reports 9 Developer CD.  However I get a message saying that the product key code is not valid or has expired.  There is no product key code on the cover for the Crystal Reports 9 Developer CD but there is one on the Crystal Enterprise Report Application Server CD cover so that is why I input it.
Why is this key code expired?  Please note that I am installing on a test PC before I install on the PC of the user who will be using Crystal for work purposes.  Therefore I wanted to just install with a temporary key if there is such a thing at this time.
    thanks
    JW

    Hi Josh,
I would like to add few things with above suggestion
For a new key code :
Request key codes for new orders via SAP Marketplace (SMP), will  receive a download letter on new purchases providing them with their SMP login credentials.  Using these credentials you can login and click in the  "Keys & Requests" tab > Request a License key .
If your  existing Key code does not work :
You need   create a customer message [https://websmp107.sap-ag.de/message] using component XX-SER-LIKEY-BOJ .
    Hope this helps,

  • Modify BCD to disable Win8 AutoRepair via a SCCM Application?

We've recently found that the Windows 8 automatic repair feature kills our systems that are encrypted via 3rd party tools. So we need to ensure that this is disabled on all systems.
    We could use a login script to run "bcdedit/set{current}
    recoveryenabledNo"
however I'd prefer to do this via a SCCM Application if possible. As this would ensure it is set & give an easy visual check for staff via the Detection Rules & having it show as an 'installed application'.
Has anyone done this before & had any luck? I am thinking it should be possible via a custom script in the detection rules, but I've never done anything like that before.
Or am I just over complicating things & there is a much better way to handle this?
    Cheers!

First, you wouldn't be able to run this as a login script unless your users have local admin permissions -- if they do, you can commence beating your head against the wall because you've got bigger issues anyway :-)
Next, why not just a [classic] package for this? Applications are primarily meant for, as their name implies, applications and not scripts. There's no reason you can't specifically use an application and there are some advantages to doing so, but figuring
out the detection can sometimes be more painful than its worth. Glad you got this figured out though.
