SCCM Query Showing Old OS Information

When doing a device search in SCCM 2012 Management Console by Operating System for Windows XP the query returns no results however using the query below give me computer listed at XP that have since been upgraded to Windows 7.

Why do the console and the DB show different data? Is this a symptom of a SCCM misconfiguration or a misunderstanding on my part?

Ok, I’m a bit confused, above you said that you upgrade the PC now you are saying it was fresh install. Does that mean you did a PC replacement scenario?

Is the PC listed twice within the all systems collections?
What does resource explorer show for this PC?
What OS is listed on the PC within WMI win32_operationsystem class?

Last changed date of query showing old date

Hi All,
We have made a change to a query (description change) and saved. When we open the Analyzer we still see the old description and also the last changed date shows an old date. Not the latest date the query was last changed on. We tried generating the query in RSRT, but no luck.
Can someone let us know what we can do?

I am trying use my new apple itunes account .when i down load itunes on to my windows pc an old itunes is showing up with old music and movies that cant be accessed .i am trying to have a clean slate with out the old user information.

Some reports in SCCM 2012 show no information

Hello!
I have ran report "Computers with low free disk space (less than specified % free)" but it shows no information regardless of that what collection I select (All systems, custom created collections).
The reports about another hardware parts show the requested information successfully, for example about processor speed, hard disk space etc.
In addition to that, the report "Computers that meet the recommended system requirements for Windows 7" does not show any information either.
For information, the Hardware inventory works fine and there are no errors related to client status.
Also in report "Logical disk space history for a specific computer" I can't select Values for "Computer name field" as it's inactive.
I can't understand why some reports don't work correctly, as in SCCM2007 all worked fine without any reports and settings customization.
Does anyone encountered with such issues? Should I extend any inventory classes or enable any ones?

Jsp page shows old information

Hi, does anyone knows what is the proplem?
          I have a jsp page that reads data from database and some how it shows me old date information, and after refreshing the page it shows new modified date, allthought I have cleared temporary from browser ???

That is not a webpage, the JSP is most likely used as a Plain Old Xml (POX) transaction page. So it acts as a sort of webservice.
Suppse a jsp page
is it code in jspBit of a nobrainer, wouldn't you think? It would be hardly of any use if that XML was static content.

Not able to replace new query in old workbook

I am having a workbook on a query which was developed long back,due to few changes i created new query and now i want to replace that query in old workbook which it is not allowing also tried to create new workbook with new query but when i run workbook it shows no applicable data found ,when i run query the data is coming.
I need all your suggestion on this

Hi Dev,
Open your Workbook and Go to the Sheet in which the desired query (to be removed) is embedded.
In the "BEx Toolbar" 3rd Last Icon if you place cursor on it it will say "Tools" > Click on Tools and you will see an Option "Remove Query" or if you want to remove All queries from Work book there is another option Tools> All Queries in Workbook --> Detach.
This will remove the Query from Workbook.
Then in same Tools--> you can see Insert Query click on it and point (select) your new Query.
This will insert the new query in Workbook.
Save the Workbook.
Hope this will resolve your issue.

Lync User Phone Number Changed in AD - Still Showing Old (Normalized) Number Days Later in Lync Client Contact Detail

Environment: Lync 2013 backend; Lync 2010 and Lync 2013 clients. Enterprise Voice not implemented. November 2013 CU Applied on Server.
Issue: Lync user (User A) phone number changed in AD but still showing old number for others days later.
Believed Cause: User A has not logged into Lync since change to republish new phone number?
So after reading this http://masteringlync.com/ I am beginning to think that something I perceived as an issue may actually be by design?
Action:
User A work phone number changed in AD. User A has only one phone entry in AD. Normalization rule in place to basically leave number unchanged (working)
Result:
New phone number propogated fine to Exchange/Outlook fine. Old number displaying only in Lync client when viewing User A contact card detail
Lync 2010 Client displays only old number when looking at Client A contact detail (this client only presents phone numbers if they are actually normalized)
Lync 2013 Client displays two work numbers.
One that we identify as a "display number" just as entered in AD - this shows correctly as the new number. Another that we identify as the "normalized number" which is still the old
number (same as 2010 Client)
Same results whether contact is saved in Lync Client or not and is not related to Outlook contacts - in fact one test was with a Lync account that is not Mail Enabled.
I did a dbanalyze to view the SQL database detail for User A and see that Category 'userInformation' has the old phone number and the time stamp on it seems to coincide with a Lync Cllient database change (user login or refresh on that end) so this seems
to futher confirm my findings thus my reaching the point of conceding it might be out of my control.
My Question I guess is ....
Have others discovered this? Is this a bug or do normalized phone numbers actually requre a client login to accept/republish the number correctly to others even though the information is updated in AD? User detail and how it propogates seems to
be the biggest mystery and it gets harder and harder to explain to users why changes aren't displaying accuralely.

Thanks Richard... your blog definitely hit home with what I was seeing but guess I just didn't want to accept that as the end of the road on this. I'm still in a little misbelief that client interaction is necessary to update a backend change.
This process really makes phone numbers in Lync an unreliable source given a user will never know if it is it up to date. And the problem with Lync 2013 client is it shows both numbers in the client ... the address book one with the
updated AD numbers and the one the normalized AD one that the user has to login to republish. I now more fully understand the process but trying to explain that to users when they see different work numbers .. ugh.
Oh well, guess the important part is to understand the process so thanks again.

Provider Hosted Site not able to query SP site for information

This is the scenario. We have an application server (http://serv-wfm-app:102) not a part of the SharePoint farm that is hosting the website. It is a non-SharePoint server that communicates to a SharePoint site (http://onboarding and queries group membership
to see if the user is a part of that particular group. If the user is a part of the SharePoint group called "Admin" for instance it will show particular tabs. If they are not it will hide them. The code uses Client Object Model to query the group
membership information. The thing about this is that it works if I run a localhost debug session in Visual Studio. It detects the user and queries the SP site group membership successfully and hides the tabs based on if they a part of that group or not. However,
when run hosted on the http://serv-wfm-app:102 application server it will not hide the tabs and will not present with any error as well. Any ideas what the reason is for this? Here is a snippet of the code we are using.

Per my understanding, you might want to query information of a SharePoint site from an external server using Client Object Model.
As a common practice, I suggest you debug your code to see if all the objects in use hold proper value during the request.
Also, as the code will run on an external server, you will need to set the credential before requesting SharePoint resource:

Linux VM KVP IP can't be shown on Hyper-V Manager after querying its KVP/IP information on Hyper-V host several times

I am using a CentOS 6.5 VM (Linux kernel 2.6.32-431) and (generation 2) CentOS 7 VM (Linux
kernel 3.10.0-123) with Hyper-V KVP daemon installed,
and I periodically query its IP (via using WMI or Powershell to query its KVP information) to manage it.
However, after querying its IP (KVP) for several times, its IP can’t
be queried or shown on Hyper-V Manager anymore (Windows VM is ok without this problem).
And here is the vmIntegrationService status of my CentOS 7 VM for the references.

Actually, if your CentOS VM (has LIS) installed with KVP daemon running well,
my test script will show more than 4 keys (include NetworkAddressIPv4 or NetworkAddressIPv6 keys).
However, while the KVP daemon becomes problematic, it will only show a few keys
(ex. 4~6 keys) and at this moment, Hyper-V Manager also can't show IP address of it anymore and you may need to reboot the CentOS VM to recover it.
For example (KVP in 252 time is good, but KVP in 253 and 254 times become problematic)

found the following patches and gave them a try, but the
problem still remains after applying these patches and the (generation 2) Ubuntu 14.04 with Linux kernel 3.13 also has this problem.
- Patch "Drivers:
hv: util: Fix a bug in the KVP code" has been added to the 3.14-stable tree
- Drivers: hv: vmbus: Fix a bug in the channel callback dispatch code
But (generation 1) Ubuntu 14.04 VM with Linux kernel 3.17 doesn't encounter this problem after querying its KVP/IP information on Hyper-V host several times.
Does anyone know what changes between Linux kernel 3.13 and 3.17 fix this issue?

I did the patch with rpmbuild on CentOS 6.5 (with kernel 2.6.32-431).
However, the second patch cannot patch on CentOS6.5 since there is no target_cpu in such version.
So we are patching that with the following similar patch but this issue still occurs. (also replace ko in initrd)

Content presenter to show old version of a document.

We are using content presenter to show content from UCM. In one case we want to show old version of document. We want to pass document-name and rev-label to content presenter and would like to show that particular version only.
Content presenter take datasource as parameter but I believe I can only pass doc-name to it and it will always show latest document. Is it correct?
I am fine if someone can provide cmis query to retrieve one particular version.

I was also thinking on similar line but problem is ora:t:IDC:GlobalProfile returns only latest versions.
Let say my doc-name is HC_AP_HELP_DOC, I put following query
SELECT * FROM ora:t:IDC:GlobalProfile WHERE ora:p:dDocName = 'HC_AP_HELP_DOC' ;
It correctly show the latest version. If I put additional condition of revision-no as 'SELECT * FROM ora:t:IDC:GlobalProfile WHERE ora:p:dDocName = 'HC_AP_HELP_DOC' and ora:p:dRevLabel = '3'', it workds only for revision 3, because that is the latest one. If I change version no to 1 or 2, it does not show anything. I believe its all because version 1 and 2 are not selected by ora:t:IDC:GlobalProfile so additional filter can not do anything.
Do we have any select query which can return all versions of document?

Archiving Old Purchase Information

Is it possible to Archive old Purchase Information? I have been using ZENworks Asset Manager for several years now and have old purchase information for products that are no longer in the environment.
When I run a Compliance Report for a product that has several generations of purchase information I would like to be able to exclude it so that it does NOT show purchase information for products that no longer have any Installation Information. Setting the criteria on the left does not allow me to get detailed enough for what I want. My only other option has been creating Custom Reports.
I don't want to delete the old Purchase Information, it has been useful on more than one occassion. What are some of my options that I have not thought about?

Although apple id changed to new email account iCloud still showing old one and cant access everything. How do I update it?

Welcome to the Apple community.
This feature has been introduced to make stolen phones useless to those that have stolen them.
However it can also arise when the user has changed their Apple ID details with Apple and not made the same changes to their iCloud account/Find My Phone on their device before upgrading to iOS 7, or if you restore from a previous back up made before you changed your details.
The only solution is to change your Apple ID back to its previous state with Apple at My Apple ID using your current password, you don’t need access to this address if it’s previously been used with your Apple ID, once you have saved these details enter the password as requested on your device and then turn off "find my phone" and delete the account from your device.
You should then change your Apple ID back to its current state, save it once again and then log back in using your current Apple ID. Finally, turn "find my phone" back on once again.

Sorry if i asked a doc question. i didn't gone through much about locks before...but will do now

AFAIK, there is no permanent repository/view available which would keep the historical info.So this means, if the lock issue is resolved, you wont see its information from any view at least. May be using the old snapshots may show some waits and things like that but no view would show you. But if the lock is still there and is actively being held by someone than it can be seen from various views.

Downloaded latest VLC Web Plugin ver but Firefox still show old version

Downloaded VLC Web Plugin Version 2.0.5.0 and rebooted and restarted Firefox.
Firefox Plug Ins still shows old version 2.0.2.0.
When I check Firefox for latest version is says 2.0.2.0 is the latest and I'm up to date.
When I open VLC as a standalone it comes up as version 2.0.5.0.
Why is Firefox not incorporating the correct version?

Try to delete the pluginreg.dat file in the Firefox Profile Folder and maybe addons.sqlite as well to reset the plugin registry databases.
You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder:
*Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder
