SCE 2020 2.5.10 to 3.1.1 upgrade failing
I have tried to upgrade an SCE2020 4xGBE running 2.5.10 version to 3.1.1. It all went ok except the part with the PQI install file.
It's goes to upgrade the application file, but when it gets to
"Assining new SLI... 42%.. it fails and says: Failed to load the eng3119.sli because of some error in function LoadGraphToAllRucs
Any ideas?
Hello,
I've tried resetting the device to it's factory defaults, formatting the file system and many other things. The box is still unusable and the OS can't be upgraded. The error is still the same. There was a single version that installed the PQI but when a traffic passes through the box a watchdog is restarting the system, but i can't remember which one.
You can try with a TAC request...
If they come up with a solution, will greatly appreciate any help.

The lwapp APs are not snmp-manageable but the controllers takes care of that. You can poll the WLC via SNMP and it will give you the radio status of all the APs.
I suggest using the Cisco MIB browser tool to find out more about the AIRESPACE mib that the WLC is using.

SCE loses Quota Below Threshold events in cutoff redundancy mode
Hi all,
We are implementing a inline cascade topology with 2 SCE 2020 devices and the action on the SCE failure is cutoff and we are experiencing delay in "Quota Below Threshold" events. The events consequently generated upon quota depletion (i.e. "Quota Below Threshold" and "Quota Depleted") do appear, but meanwhile the subscriber experiences temporarily loss of service. The most important implication is that the subscriber loses all open downloading sessions. We haven't experienced such an issue while we were working in the "bypass" redundancy mode.
Here follows an excerpt of our logs which indicate the problem while a subscriber has been downloading a file. The logs are generated by the API quota listeners at the lowest level. The quotas that get replenished each time are 50Mb. The quota threshold was set to 20Mb (from the default 10Mb) in an effort to mask off the problem, but unfortunately it persisted. The downloading rate wasn't high enough to justify a rapid replenishment of quotas.

2011-05-06 17:42:41,823 DEBUG [handlers.SceQuotaListener] Handling Quota event for subscriber xxx with quota -910 and type QUOTA_EVENT_TYPE_DEPLETED ...
We are of the impression that the quota below threshold or depletion conditions are detected after a small delay of 2-3 seconds. Is it possible that this detection gets delayed somehow under certain conditions?
Thank you in advanceRapid use of quota does explain this behavior but seems like you are already aware of this situation.
Just to be sure, The Threshold should be set by evaluating the volume that the fastest subscriber in the system can consume in 30 seconds period. In your policy this would be both upstream + downstream the fastest subscriber can get (since quota is calculated in both directions). So the volume which the subscriber can consume with such a rate for 30 second period should be a guideline for setting the threshold value (threshold should be set significantly higher than this value).
The QM uses a Sliding Window Model for measuring subscriber consumption -
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/cable/serv_exch/serv_control/broadband_app/rel36x/qm_sol/01_overview.html#wp1053153
The Remaining Quota interval is configured in the SCA-BB GUI (at the RDRs section). What have you configured it as?
Can you increase the quota replenishment limit to 100megs from 50 megs and leave the below threshold limit to 20 megs.
Also not sure if you already have this but this link and the paragraph below may help:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/cable/serv_exch/serv_control/broadband_app/rel355/qm_sol/02_scenarios.html#wp1053156
Maximizing Quota Accuracy
One of the most important aspects of the quota manager is accuracy of the quota levels for any subscriber. When you provision quota using an external server, a trade-off exists between quota accuracy and the number of network messages.
To maximize accuracy, configure the rate of the periodic remaining quota indication to a high value, and configure the size of the quota dosage to a small value. A configuration causes performance degradation due to the high number of messages being generated in the network.
Quota inaccuracies may occur during the changeover from one aggregation period to the next, or due to SCE fail-over. The level of inaccuracy depends on the configuration of the following parameters:
•Rate of the periodic remaining quota indications
•Quota dosage value
During an aggregation period changeover, the following occurs until the first quota indication is received in the new aggregation period:
•Any quota consumed by the subscriber is subtracted from the previous aggregation period.
•The quota dosage value limits the size of any quota error.
•The interval between the remaining quota indications limits the length of time during which consumed quota is subtracted from the previous aggregation period.
In cases of SCE fail-over, the following occurs between the last quota indication in the failed SCE and the first quota indication in the new, active SCE:
•Any quota consumed by the subscriber is not removed from the subscriber buckets.
•The quota dosage value limits the size of any quota error.
•The length of time during which quota is consumed is limited by the interval between the remaining quota indications.
In all cases of inaccuracy, the quota remaining is calculated in favor of the subscriber. The only exception is if the aggregation period changeover occurs when the subscriber quota is already breached.

SCE Backup fail with Version 3.6.5 Build 489
Hello,
I upgraded my SCE 2020 and now can't do a subscriber backup on local Disk
Subscriber backup failed on SCE 2020 Version 3.6.5 Build 489:
sce#>conf
sce(config)#>interface LineCard 0
sce(config if)#>subscriber export csv-file subsback.csv
0 subscriber(s); 0 error(s)
sce(config if)#>
But I have 1298 subscribers !!!
sce#>show interface linecard 0 subscriber all-names
There are 1298 subscribers in the data-base:
N/A
subscriber1
subscriber2
subscriber3
subscriber1298
sce#>
(These commands worked well with old Firmare 3.5.0 Build 407).
Any idea about the problem ? It's a new Bug ?
Thanks for comments.
Best regards.
SebHi,
This is Shelley from Cisco TAC. I support the SCE.
This is a bug and was identified a few weeks ago. I would like you to open a TAC case so that we can track and monitor user affected by this bug. Once you open the case, we will provide you with the Bug ID as well (at this time it is internal hence cannot share)
Hope this answers your query.(Please mark complete if so and rate.)

Did you configure traffic-counter on SCE ?
If there is no configuration of traffic-counter, you can see this error.
Can you try to configure as following ?
SCE2000#>conf
SCE2000(config)#>interface LineCard 0
SCE2000(config if)#>traffic-counter name test count-bytes
SCE2000(config if)#>end
SCE2000#>show snmp MIB pcube-SE-MIB traffic-counters

### PHASE 2: User inputs
Upgrade phase started at Wed Oct 18 21:22:19 2006
Processing Metadata File: upg/common/inputchk/inputchk.met Running upg/common/inputchk/inputchk.pl ### Verify that the database has been backed up
Step started at Wed Oct 18 21:22:19 2006
Before beginning the upgrade, it is important that you backup your database.
Have you backed up your database (y/n)? [y]: y
Ask user for schema and database details
Enter the name of schema that you would like to upgrade [PORTAL]: portal
Enter the password for the schema that you would like to upgrade [portal]:
Enter the password for the SYS user of your database [CHANGE_ON_INSTALL]:
Enter the TNS connect string to connect to the database [ORCL]: (DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=portaldb.bizmatch.com.cn)(PORT=1521))(CONNECT_DATA=(SERVER=DEDICATED)(SERVICE_NAME=IASDB.bizmatch.com.cn)))
Responses to the above questions will now be recorded in the file
upgrade.in. Placeholders are recorded instead of actual passwords,
for security reasons. If you wish, this file can be edited and used
as the standard input for a subsequent run of upgrade.pl.

Pre-Check Completed at Wed Oct 18 21:22:32 2006Hi,
Its good that u pasted the complete log file. In your environment you have to run this upgrade tool only once from any of the middle tier.
And with respect to your error that u got in precheck is quite simple. All u have to do is just run this script from by connecting to portal schema using sqlplus.
Run dropupg.sql
Location-------- /raid/product/OraHome_1/upgrade/temp/portal/prechktmp/dropupg.sql
Later you re-run the upgrade tool and let me know the status.
Good luck

Issues with W_DAY_D
Hi All,
I have 10 years of data for Order Management that was loaded as Full. I am running nightly incremental loads.
I needed to replace the fiscal month calendar with the one client is using, i.e July is first month and June is month 12.
I placed the fiscal_month.csv file that client provided.
Since the year extends beyond 2010, I made the refresh date for the date dimensions NULL.
I changed the $$END_DATE parameter for SIL_DayDimension task to 2020 and pushed it to references.
The ETL fails to truncate W_DAY_D after the changes and I get unique constraint errors. Any reason why? Thanks for your responsesWell if you check the DAC tasks, then you'll see that only the SIL_DayDimension_UpdateFlag runs for incremental loads.
If you want to reload the W_DAY_D, then you need to reset the refresh date of the TARGET tables which then in turn will propagate to W_DAY_D. I.e.: The target tables for tasks starting with SIL_DayDimension*.
Alternatively (and that's what I do normally), create a Subject Area explicitely for W_DAY_D and its staging tables. This way you can run a reload of that table as often as you want through its own execution plan.
HTH.

Are you currently on Max Turbo or Power?
You can check your eligiblity for higher tiers by going into your MyAT&T account.
Go here -

SCE vlan translation with connection-mode inline on-failure bypass
Hi guys,
Can anyone tell me the behaviour of the SCE (1010 or 2020) in a failure scenario when configured with the following commands?
connection-mode inline on-failure bypass
VLAN translation increment value 5
While the SCE is in failure mode, will the VLAN increment between the SUB and NET ports still be applied (ie. applied in hardware while the control engine is being bypassed), or will all frames be passed from the SUB to the NET ports unaltered?
Regards,
Brett.Reading through the CLI :
int LineCard 0
connection-mode inline on-failure bypass
VLAN translation ?
decrement Vlan will be decremented on network port and incremented on subscriber port
increment Vlan will be incremented on network port and decremented on subscriber port
So on traffic that is either coming in on either the network side or sub side will get either incremeneted or decremented for vlan translation.
Is there a need to do this ? what scenario are you considering using it in ? if the traffic is bypassed as is shown why you need to further massage it ? -

2. Check whether the required posting period is open for posting for the variant of posting period 5000 and account type +. Make sure that the period is open for posting.
To do this, specify a period interval in which the required period for the variant of posting period 5000 and account type + is contained.
You make these settings in Customizing of Financial Accounting (New) under Financial Accounting Global Settings (New) -> Ledgers -> Fiscal Year and Posting Periods - > Posting Periods -> Open and Close Posting Periods.
I able to post cashdesk document in customer incoming payment tab and i cannot cancel due to posting period 05 & year 2020 not open.
Currently we are in 05 2011 not 2020, is any expert can advice where to set cashdesk fiscal year configure?
I need to open FI period until 05 2020, then my cash document cancellation is successful.
Thanks

ng chong chuanHi,
First check the Current period in OMSY trx...for your Comp code..
Then go to MMPV and enter Comp code, Period & Year
and execute...
Ex: if the current period in OMSY for your Comp code is 01,2008
then you need to enter period 02, 2008 in MMPV trx...
so, that period 01 will be closed & Period 02 will be opened automatically...
You need to close periods one by one like this..
until the period you want use...
Remember you can not Roll back the closed period
Be careful in closing the MM period in PRD client.
Thx

Performance blocker on cFP-2020: file-I/O! How to improve?
Hi all,
after resolving my serial-communication problems I still have a performance problem. The code is way too slow which causes e.g. the ftp-server on the fieldpoint to not respond anymore to requests from my PC. I always get timeouts. I also frequently get loop-finished-late events within my two state-machines. I have now used the timing and performance monitor to sse which vi is taking so much time. The result: A file-I/O vi that writes data and log-entries into three different log-files. With a former verion I simply used one vi that appends a string to an existing file. However, since this function disappeared with LV8.2 I had to rewrite the code to use the following sequence of LV-functions:
- file open
- set pointer to the end
- write string
- file close
My vi shich calls this sequence is horribly slow - execution time per run is about 200ms and the top of the list in the performance monitor. Are there any suggestions on how to improve this code? I simply want to add a string to the end of the log-file......
The vi is attached. There are two features in the code which are not self-explanatory: The first sub-vi generates a new file if is used for longer than a preset time (15 minutes in my case). So the create-time of the file is stored in the filename and whenever the current time exceeds create-time plus 15 min. A new file name is created. For simplicity, the name is stored only for the first of the three log-files. The other two are created by string operations from the first filename. Second, whenever a file is "created", that means is does not exist yet, a data-header is written to the file, before data is appended.
Can you see simple improvements here that will accelerate this code? Maybe open the file only once and then append data subsequently and only close it when a new file is created? But I do not need all three files all the times, there may be situations where only one file is needed, and the others need not be created at all.
Thanks,
Olaf

I think moving the open file, move to end of file, and close file out of the loop would certainly help. These functions could be associated with or built into your "determine new file" VI. Since the file paths get passed into the loops, you could pass them through with shift registers so that you can close them after the loops end.
One other thing to look at is your initialize array and insert into array functions. I believe insert into array is one of the costlier functions. Build array would be better. And initializing a much larger array and using replace array subset is better yet. But if you wind up with more elements than you had originally initialized for, you will have to use build array to enlarge it. I would recommend searching the Labview forum for insert into array, build array, and replace array subset for threads that do a better job explaining the differences and advantages of each.
Thanks, that improved the performance of this vi by about two orders of magnitude. The application is now much more stable.
However, I cannot connect to the cFP-2020 anymore by ftp. I even swithed the fieldpoint to boot without vi.
To be specific, I can access the cFP and cd into all directories except for the directory with the data. I assume that there is a large
amount of files in it now, but used to work before even with lots of files. The only thing that might be not so nice is that there is a space
in the folder name, but that has been like that for years now and used to work.
Is there any reason (corrupted file or something like that) that can cause the ftp to fail on this specific directory?
Thanks,
Olaf

Previously I could view my appointments/reminders in my calendar. This feature is no longer available. I know I have a reminder in the year 2020. Where can I view my appointments/reminders?
Reminders is a separate app from Calendars.
Appointments are in Calendar and remonders are in Reminder.
