Schedule setups outside working hours

Dear Experts,
We are implementing PPDS in a process industry, setup matrixs are going to be used and in order to create a  setup constraint based plan for the next 3 weeks, we use the optimizer. During the production, many of the setup changes are really long, about 5 hours and customer would like to run those setups outside the working hours, which are Monday to Friday from 06:00 to 17:00.
Manual adjustment of the operations is not a nice solution because almost all the setups are that long so we should manually re-schedule many operations. We cannot have an strategy with the option consider non working time because then we risk to have production, not only setups, outside the working hours.
Please advice.
Thanks
CTF

Hi,
I am planning to reduce the setup times that they are actually performing outside working time to 10 min so we dont need to schedule them outside working hours.
The problem is that they never produce those materials (which require long setups) during a working day if they have produced others product before, so they skip the huge setup time. How can we set up the system in a way that it actually plans to produce those articles at the  beginning of a day and produce them the entire day.
Thanks

Yes Verizon has contacted me by phone.  I never scheduled a call time nor did I call them.  They also are not making it easy to contact them through email.  I need to discuss a way to assure that my phone is never called again during work hours without a prearranged meeting.  I will not speak on the phone nor use a live chat.  I want email as I want this documented offical and no other means offeres me that assurance.  I'd also like to discuss comensation for being harrassed with phone calls.

Well if you pay your bill the calls would not happen.
You need only tell them not to call you during working time.
The Fair Debt Collections Practices Act states you must tell them it is not convenient.
Now if marketing calls you can opt out at the Verizon web portal under your My Verizon account.
You will not get compensation for them to call you. Nice try.
However they could just shut your phone off and then you will call them.
    Email is not an option.
    Good Luck

  • TM - One Work Schedule rule - but differential pay according to worked hour

    Hi All,
I am not sure if my que makes sense.
Is it possoible to define one work schedule and pay the hourly employee according to actual hours he worked...meaning if he works from 2PM - 10 PM pay at X rate...but if emp works from 10PM - 6 AM bay the employee at Y rate?
The business need is 3rd shift emp show up for 2nd shift couple of days and the emp gets paid the 3rd premium rate..when he should not..right now we have 3 shift and maiintaing the shift premium in IT0008.
Is this possible...can someone please let me know.
    Thanks!

No they are not using IT2003, instead emp who schedule for night shift shows up for the eve shift and hence its a big mess bcos of the "prev daily ind" is set and hours are calculated wrongly. And payroll have to manualy deduct the 3rd shift(night) premium
Instead I am thinking...if we could create a flex WSR and based on the hours emp works we assign the premium.. does that make sense?
As I am typing I am thinking can we control in the PCR like if the emp shows up during these hours assign this w/t etc??

  • Project 2013 - entering work hours at a monthly level

    Hi all,
Any help with this 'hopefully small' problem will be hugely appreciated. It's not so much a problem, but
me still being new to Project - sorry! As a summary of what I am working with:
I have entered a list of tasks (all set to Manually Scheduled).
I have entered a number of resources into the Resource List.
I have also assigned relevant resources to the tasks.
Using the Task Usage view, I would now like to begin entering Work hours for the resources assigned to the
tasks. We are planning at a monthly level, so I know how many hours each resource is expecting to be spending on each task over each month.
I have set the Timescale of my Task Usage screen to a monthly scale, thinking that this would allow me to
enter total hours for each month. As an example, one of the resources assigned to a task is set for 15 hours of Work in April. It all seems to look OK on input.
My problem is however, I would like the Start and Finish fields to reflect this, and span over the months
in which the Task's resources will be doing work. It doesn't seem to pick up the month accurately. Although I have entered the 15 hours in the column labelled April, the Start and Finish dates have come out as 30/04/14 and 30/05/14 respectively. I was hoping
the Start and Finish times of that row to be 01/04/14 and 30/04/14 respectively, but they are a month out of line, and has show the work to be happening over May, not April. Is there y way I can change this?
I hope this makes sense as a question? Any help at all would be brilliant. Please do let me know if I've
missed any detail and you need some more info. I'll also continue looking through the forums to check if this has already been asked.
p.s. I tried to upload an annotated image, but my account needs to be verified first. Do I need to do anything to request this? I didn't receive any usual 'verification' links in MS's email on opening this account.
    Thanks very much,
    ac18

    Hi John, Julie,
Thank you both very much for the help! Yes good spot, I did post it on both forums (http://www.msofficeforums.com/project/21190-project-2013-entering-work-hours-monthly-level.html) - it's been years since I've used forums of any kind, and it's great to see
experts being active across multiple sites!
I have given both suggestions a try, but unfortunately am still not quite there yet.
John, although your tip seems to work OK, I think I was hoping to find a way for the Start and Finish times to automatically span across the Work hours I have entered. If I was to then enter another 5 hours, but this time for March, the Start-Finish dates
should auto update to be 01/03/14 - 30/04/14. I understand now that this may require me to be on an Automatically Scheduled project?
Julie, your screen shot on the msofficeforums.com website is exactly what I am looking to achieve! I would like to enter month-level Work data, and that looks to be exactly that. I did try entering a zero in the month immediately after the last month that
had hours in it, but Project seemed to simply ignore it, with no visible change to the dates.
I have done some further investigating, and there does seem to be something different happening with my Project version (it's Proj Prof 2013). I have access to another computer with Project 2010 installed on it, and this doesn't seem to cause an issue. Note,
I did need to have set the tasks as Auto Scheduled.
Essentially, if I try and exactly replicate Julie's example on both versions with the following steps, I get slightly different results:
    Tasks set to Auto-Scheduled.
Set Project Start Date to 01/01/14
    Enter some resources.
    Switch to Task Usage view.
Set the Timescales on the right hand side to: Bottom tier=Months, Middle tier=Quarters.
    Enter a task.
Assign resources to the task. At this point, by default 8 hours worth of work appears for each assigned resource. In 2010, these hours appear in the January 14 column. But on my 2013 laptop however, these hours appear under the December 2013 column. Strange?
Anyway, in both cases I clear these default hours by entering zeros in their places.
I now enter 15 hours under April 2014 for one of the resources on the task.
In 2010, the Start and Finish dates of the assigned resource's row update to 01/04/14 - 30/04/14.
In 2013 however, the Start and Finish dates update to 30/04/14 - 30/05/14.
I have a feeling that this discrepancy is perhaps at the heart of my problem? Is there a setting with the application that I am not making?
    Thanks again,
    Arjun

  • Daily working Hours Calculation

    Dear All
Time Management - >Work Schedules->Set Work Schedule rules and work schedule
How to calculate the Daily working hours if my shift time is as given below
      Night  00:25 to  Morning 07:30
My break time is between 3:30 to 4:00
So my actual working hours is  6:35 hours (6 hrs and 35 min).
What i need to enter in the Daily working hours, whether 6.35 or 6.58 (0.25/15*35)?
    regards
    Suresh S

    Hi,
First create a break shedule from 3:30 to 4:00 AM and specify if paid or unpaid.
Use this break schedule while creating daily work schedule. Specify the timings of 0:25 as start in planned working time, the end time will be calculated automatically.
Use this DWS in your PWS which you in turn use while setting WSR as you stated above. The Daily Working time will be automatically taken from DWS. And I think it should be 6:35 hrs.
    cheers

  • Changing work hours

Hi guys, I'm using lighting 3.3, I just installed it yet for the life of me I can't figure out how to change my work hours. According to the default configuration I'm only in the office from Midnight to 4am and that's far from correct and it's not letting me schedule meeting properly.
How do I change this setting so my work hours show properly and it's easier to schedule calls and meeting with other people?
    Thank you very much.

Press the alt key to make the menu bar appear if it is hidden. Then select '''Tools-Options-Calendar-Views'''

  • Work hours per period

    Hi guys
As we know SAP calculates the work hours 173.33 based on the employee's work schedule. However, what do you do if a client has been using something else, say 176hrs?  We have explained to the client how the system arrives at 173.33 hrs but client is inisting that they want to use 176hrs because that is what they have agreed upon with unions and changing the hours to 173.33 means paying the employees more on overtime as they will use this rate as the employees daily rate.
    What would you recommend guys?
    G

    G
    Ideally I think your talking about this situation. DWS =8 ,PWS=5 Weekly =40  Monthly = 52/1240 =173.33 and Yearly 5240 =2080
As per you requirement I Think client want to pay more than 176 hours worked. For this you have to maintain them in over time rules and T511k  Tables  , here you can also make 173.33  to 176  as these value will be reflected in IT0008 .for deriving the hourly rate of pay  which is used in all the pay related calculations.

  • Ignore working hours for a specific route

    Dear SAP Gurus,
I'm on to maintain a route for 0 days and 0 hours. Therefore I customized a new route, and set the Delivery and Transportation Scheduling of my shipping point to "route dependent". So far, this works fine, but although I entered a total time of zero in my own - created route, the system calculates the next day as delivery date because of the customized standard working hours of our company.
Therefore I'm searching for a way to ignore those working hours in the calculation for this specific route (it's fine to use these working hours for the calculation of every other route). I'd like the delivery date and time being the same as the goods issue date and time, loading time, etc..
    How to handle this one?
Thanks a lot for any suggestions / ideas.
    Matthias

    Hi Matthias
1)Don't maintain any factory calender , pick / pack time , material availability time etc in shipping point
2)Even don't maintain the Factory calendar in the sales orgn details
3)Don't maintain  Factory calendar  the shipping point data
4)Finally as you have maintained route remove the factory calendar in the your route determination .
Then your requirement can be fulfilled

  • Number of weekly working hours 48 exceeded error in Planned Working Time

    Hi,
I have a group of employees called labors who work all 7 days a week, 10 hours a day so I have created the work schedule accordingly. When I maintain the Planned Working Time infotype, the system gives a warning message "Number of weekly working hours 48 exceeded". In table T77S0, value of PERCK is set to D & DAYWK is set to 700. Please guide me to solve the problem

    Hi,
VJ for which country are you implementing this? Some countries have regulations that a person's working time may not exceed XX hours.

  • Room list working hours

We have set up our meeting rooms with opening hours from 0700 to 2300.
But if I go into room finder, I can only see until 1700 for all meeting rooms  in the list
Some one got any tips for this ??

    Hi,
When you create a resource mailbox within Exchange 2010, you have the option to 'Allow scheduling only during business hours'. You can enable or disable this from the
Resource Policy tab in the properties of the resource mailbox. The default
working hours is 08:00 - 17:00, which may be why you are seeing this issue.
You can check the current working hours for a single resource by running the below command from the EMS. In this example, Room01 is the name of the resource mailbox.
    Get-MailboxCalendarConfiguration -identify "Room01" | fl
The attributes you are looking for are WorkingHousStartTime and WorkingHoursEndTime.
You can change the working hours for a particular resource mialbox by using the following command
    Set-MailboxCalendarConfiguration -Identity Room01 -WorkingHoursStartTime 07:00:00 -WorkingHoursEndTime 23:00:00
    I hope this help,
    Best Regards
Yes, or this. I had assumed, since he said "We have set up our meeting rooms with opening hours from 0700
to 2300" That this had already been configured.
I like saying no. It lowers their enthusiasm.

  • Reduced Working Hours

    Gurus-
I have a German employee who will be working 3hrs a day and will have 3hrs short time(reduced working hours) to make up her schedule of 6hrs per day. In the Period Work Schedule how do I configure this?
Should I leave her at her current schedule of 30hrs and mark her part time or change her schedule to 15hrs?
    All feedback is appreciated.
    Donna

I think you could use IT0049... but in our case we did not...
The reason why we used Time Eval and IT2012 option was because of our specific requirement.
At my client, the employees worked extra hours and accrued Flextime. After accumulating sufficient flextime, they could use this flextime towards reduce working hours. We would capture the reduced hours in IT2012 and then use it to deplete the Flextime Quota.
I guess the business requirements drive how we implement these functionalities...
You can reach me for Time Eval queries...
