Scheduled jobs in DPM 2010 stopped working

 Can sombody help...?
Below is the errors that I get when Scheduled jobs fail. The DPM SQL is in a remote server, the jobs were working until a week ago when they suddenly stopped
The DPM job failed because it could not contact the DPM engine.

Hi,
The error says "System.IO.FileNotFoundException" so there must be a file missing.  Download process monitor from here:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896645 - then see if you catch the exception to see what file is missing when triggerjobs.exe executes.

What was done to fix this as we are seeing similar issues and what needs to be done with process monitor please?

  • Scheduled shutdown every night has stopped working for me...

    I've been scheduling my computer to automatically shut down and start up for quite some time now. I have it shut down at 11pm and start up at 9am every day and it's always worked great. There's the odd time that it won't shut down because an app was in use or something, but that's fine. Ever since I installed Mountain Lion a few weeks ago, I've noticed it stopped shutting down at night. The settings look like they're still all correct. Nothing has changed. One thing I just noticed is that in the instructions it says that your computer has to be logged in and awake for it to shut down on schedule. I can't remember if that's always been there or not. Problem is, I have my computer set to sleep when not in use, which is most of the day. So, if it's 11 at night and I haven't been using it for a while, it's gonna be asleep and not shut down on schedule. If I have to change the setting to have it never sleep then I'm shortening the life of it.
    Any ideas?

    Thanks for your quick response. I'm not sure what resetting the PRAM has to do with the computer being asleep but I tried it anyways. No change. Still won't shut down on schedule. As I mentioned, I think the problem is that if it's asleep it can't recognize it's time to shut down. Sounds like we're left with 2 options, either computer never sleeps during day so that it can shutdown entirely at night, or it sleeps during day and I have to manually shut it down each night or at least make sure it's awake sometime before it shuts down. Either way, it's not working like it used to under Lion.

  • Outlook 2010 stopped working

    I have used BT-Yahoo webmail and Outlook 2010 to access my BTinternet.com emails for some time. Today, I logged onto webmail and got a new logon page to get to my webmail - all this works fine - I can send & receive emails.
    However, when I logged on Outlook 2010, I couldnt send or receive any emails. I rang BT helpdesk but they cant help. Ive tried deleting and reinstalling my email account with the same settings on Outlook - Outlook says the install was successful, but I still cant send/receive emails in outlook.
    Any Help would be appreciated,
    Cheers Ken
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    I have currently only got access to Outlook 2007. Assuming Outlook 2010 is similar on the drop down at the side of the send/receive button there is an entry at the bottom saying "Send /Receive settings". Click that then  "Show Progress".
    Make sure that the "Don't show dialog box ..." is UNSETand that the Details button is set to show the Details window.
    Now when you click "Send/ Receive" you should see your account(s) being processed.
    Report back with an update please.

  • Problem with variable in scheduled job

    I'm trying to get the following scheduled job to run:
    switch(config)# scheduler job name backup_job
    switch(config-job)# cli var name timestamp $(TIMESTAMP) ; copy running-config bootflash:/$(SWITCHNAME)-cfg.$(timestamp) ; copy bootflash:/$(SWITCHNAME)-cfg.$(timestamp) tftp://1.2.3.4/
    switch(config-job)# exit
    switch(config)# scheduler schedule name backup_timetable
    switch(config-schedule)# job name backup_job
    switch(config-schedule)# time daily 1:23
    switch(config-schedule)# exit
    switch(config)# exit
    This job is taken directly from multiple Cisco MDS and Nexus documents. From what I can tell, the purpose of this job is to save the running configuration to a file on bootflash with date & time in the file name and then to copy the file from bootflash to tftp server.
    I can create the job and schedule successfully:
    switch(config)#show scheduler job name backup_job
    Job Name: backup_job
    cli var name timestamp $(TIMESTAMP)
    copy running-config bootflash:/$(SWITCHNAME)-cfg.$(timestamp)
    copy bootflash:/$(SWITCHNAME)-cfg.$(timestamp) tftp://1.2.3.4
    ==============================================================================
    switch(config)#show scheduler schedule name backup_timetable
    Schedule Name       : backup_timetable
    User Name           : admin
    Schedule Type       : Run every day at 10 Hrs 48 Mins
    Last Execution Time : Tue Mar  6 10:48:00 2012
    Last Completion Time: Tue Mar  6 10:48:00 2012
    Execution count     : 1
         Job Name            Last Execution Status
    backup_job                        Success (0)
    ==============================================================================
    The scheduled job runs successfully but the files that are created have the variable $(TIMESTAMP) in the file name instead of the actual date and time e.g. switch-cfg.$(TIMESTAMP)
    The logfile contains the following:
    Schedule Name  : backup_timetable                  User Name : admin
    Completion time: Tue Mar  6 10:59:26 2012
    --------------------------------- Job Output ---------------------------------
    `cli var name timestamp $(TIMESTAMP)`
    `copy running-config bootflash:/PEN-9509-2-cfg.$(TIMESTAMP) `
    Copy complete, now saving to disk (please wait)...
    `copy bootflash:/PEN-9509-2-cfg.$(TIMESTAMP) tftp://1.2.3.4 `
    Trying to connect to tftp server......
    Connection to server Established. Copying Started.....
    It looks to me that the $(timestamp) variable is being created successfully and is being replaced with the $(TIMESTAMP) variable but this is not being replaced with the actual date and time.
    The thing I don't get is that this looks to me that we're trying to nest variables and the same Cisco documents from which I get this configuration also state that nested variables are not allowed.
    I have tried this on different hardware - MDS9500, MDS9100, Nexus 5000, Nexus 7000 and different software - SAN-OS 3.3, NX-OS 4.1, NX-OS 5.2 but cannot get it to work. I have also tried to put the commands in a script and run with the run-script command but it still does not work.
    There is probably another method to achieve what this configuration is trying to achieve (and I would like to know if there is) but I want to know if this particular configuration will work.
    Can anyone tell me if they have got this working or can see what I'm doing wrong or can try running this in a lab please?

    I managed to get this resolved with a bit of a workaround. If I put the copy commands in a script and pass the variable to the run-script command as part of the scheduled job then it works ok. Trying to create the variable within the script (or as a separate scheduled job command) still doesn’t work.
    So, creating a script file (script) as follows:
    copy running-config bootflash:/$(SWITCHNAME)-cfg.$(timestamp)
    copy bootflash:/$(SWITCHNAME)-cfg.$(timestamp) tftp://1.2.3.4
    and creating a scheduled job with the following command:
    run-script bootflash:script timestamp=”$(TIMESTAMP)”
    achieves the desired result.

  • DPM 2010 Shell Cmdlets usage leading to Powershell crash

    Hi all,
    I have 71 DPM 2010 servers located at various places in the world. The most of them have a good and reliable network connection while some of them are connected via Sat-Link. All of my DPM 2010 servers have the same version, and are all running in identical
    W2K8 Servers with Powershell 3 installed on them. I've made a script to inventorize Datasource Replica disk usage/allocation, shadow volume disk usage/allocation and the number of recovery points, their size. The goal of this script is to do the job that DPM
    2010 should normaly do, for instance, deleting recovery points above retention date because it is not always the case... File recovery points number grows to their maximum (64) and for system State (because there is no User recovery on these ressources) their
    number can be above 100 and generally it's about 150...
    The script is running well locally, but if I try yo run a single Get-Datasource from one of my servers targeting another server, sometimes it leads to a simple Powershell crash... I also tried an invoke-command as job it's the same, the job returns nothing
    but it is marked as completed or sometimes as failed. This happens always on some server and on the other only sometimes...
    I really don't understand where is the origin of this problem... As anyone encountered such behaviour ?
    Thanks a lot in advance ;-)

    I did not find a solution to my problem yet, but I solved a part of it...
    The first of all "Powershell crash" was solved by issuing a Disconnect-DPMServer before each Get-DataSource...
    The second problem solved was the fact that the Get-DataSource cmdlet required the parameter <DPMServer> to be fully in Uppercase...
    The last problem remaining is the Invoke-command that continue to fail... Here is my code :
    $DPMServerStatusList = @()
    foreach($DPMServer in $DPMServerList){
    if(Test-Connection -Count 1 -BufferSize 16 -ComputerName $DPMServer){

  • Schedule jobs issue after the upgrade

    We have Data Services jobs scheduled via management console in 4.0 Environment. I upgraded the repository to 4.2 and attach it in CMC and also in Server manager. Both the environments are in different servers.
    Login to Data Services management console. Click on the upgraded repository schedules, scheduled jobs listed there. But there is no Job server atatched to it. When i try to activate or edit the schedule, i am getting below error.
    Schedule:billing_rep Error:Socket is closed] When contacting the server above exception was encountered, so it will be assumed the schedule is not active anymore.
    Am i missing any steps?

    Hi Jawahar,
    Below is my suggestion regarding your query:
    Edit existing Job server and update the details regarding Local reporsitory and save it.
    Now try to map the same job server in scheduled jobs and check it was working or not
    Or Else
    Create new Job server and assign it to local repository.
    In this case you have to update your all real time & batch Job configuration.
    Thanks,
    Daya

  • DPM 2010 Scheduled Jobs Disappear rather than Run

    I have a situation where I have a DPM server that appears to be functioning fine, but none of the scheduled jobs run.  No errors are given, there are no Alerts, and there is nothing in the Event log (Application and System) which indicates a failure.
    All my Protection Groups show a green tick to indicate that they are fine, but the last successful backup for all of them is Friday the 8th of February.
    If I go to Monitoring and Jobs I see the jobs scheduled, but when the time comes for the job to run, it does not go into the "All jobs in progress", it just merely disappears, like thus:
    And a few minutes later,
    As you can see, the jobs disappear from the queue, and the total number of jobs decreases accordingly.  These jobs do not go into any of the other 3 Statusses (Completed, Failed or In Progress), they just disappear without a trace.
    There is some unallocated space, albeit not much (Used space: 21 155,05 GB Unallocated space: 469,16 GB). If space was an issue I would expect to see errors to indicate this.
    DPM 2010 running version 3.0.8193.0 (hotfix rollup package 6) using remote instance of SQL 2008 which is functioning fine.  I have tried stopping/starting the services, and even rebooted the server twice.  The remote instance of SQL server is using
    a domain account as its service account.  There are no pending Windows updates, i.e. it is fully up-to-date.
    The System Center Data Protection Manager 2010 Troubleshooting Guide (July 2010) does not show how to troubleshoot this particular probelm.
    Does anybody know how to resolve this issue or which logs might help me troubleshoot it?

    OK,
    Did you change the SQL Agent user account ?
    If so, DPM enters the SQL Agent account name into the registry and later we check that account each time the DPM engine launches.  The internal interfaces to DPM are secured using this account so the account name needs to match the account the SQL Agent
    is using.
    Step 1
    In the registry HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Microsoft Data Protection Manager\Setup alter  both
    SqlAgentAccountName and SchedulerJobOwnerName keys to reflect the SQL Agent user account being used.
    Step 2
    Update DCOM launch and access permissions to match what was granted to the Microsoft$DPM$Acct account.

  • Scheduled jobs are not running DPM 2012 R2

    Hi,
    Recently upgraded my dpm 2012 sp1 to 2012 R2 and upgrade went well but i got 'Connection to the DPM service has been lost.(event id:917 and other event ids in the eventlog errors ike '999,997)'. Few dpm backups are success and most of the dpm backups consistenancy
    checks are failed.
    After investigating the log files and found two SQL server services running in the dpm 2012 r2 server those are 'sql server 2010 & sql server 2012 'service. Then i stopped sql 2010 server service and started only sql server 2012 service using (.\MICROSOFT$DPM$Acct).
    Now 'dpm console issue has gone (event id:917) but new issue ocurred 'all the scheduled job are not running' but manully i can able to run all backup without any issues. i am getting below mentioned event log errors

  • How to stop a scheduled job using OMB*Plus ?

    Hello everyone,
    I use a OMB*Plus script to deploy a project in various environments. This includes scheduled jobs.
    In this context, I need to stop the schedules of the previous versions to avoid a script crash.
    I found the OMBSTOP command thad could do, but I need to retrieve the job ID of the schedule I want to stop. And I don't know how to get the Job ID.
    I could get it from a previous launch and save it somewhere, but it wouldn't work if the schedule was manually stopped and restarted. Maybe is there a command that lists the running / scheduled jobs and their IDs? I didn't find it.
    Thanks in advance for your help.
    Cedric.

    Frankly, I cannot see where this is available via pure OMB+, however you could back-door it if if you can figure out how to get these values from the public views (I would guess from the "Scheduling Views" section at http://download-east.oracle.com/docs/cd/B31080_01/doc/owb.102/b28225/toc.htm).
    Then you could use my SQL library from OMB+ to get these values and stop the schedules before deploying. you can save this file as omb_sql_library.tcl and then just "source /path/to/omb_sql_library.tcl in your own script to make the functions available in your script.

    So you would want to connect to the control center, query for scheduled jobs, stop them, and then continue on with your deployment. I assume that you also need to pause and check that an scheduled job in mid-run has time to exit before moving ahead. You could do a sleep loop querying against system tables looking for active sessions running mappings and waiting until they are all done or something if you really want to bulletproof the process.
    Hope this helps,

    Regards
    Manoj

    Hi Manoj,
    You could use the DPM Shell command Stop-Job - see below for a description:
    NAME
        Stop-Job
    SYNOPSIS
        Stops a Windows PowerShell background job.
    SYNTAX
        Stop-Job [[-InstanceId] <Guid[]>] [-PassThru] [-Confirm] [-WhatIf] [<Common
        Parameters>]
        Stop-Job [-Job] <Job[]> [-PassThru] [-Confirm] [-WhatIf] [<CommonParameters
        >]
        Stop-Job [[-Name] <string[]>] [-PassThru] [-Confirm] [-WhatIf] [<CommonPara
        meters>]
        Stop-Job [-Id] <Int32[]> [-PassThru] [-Confirm] [-WhatIf] [<CommonParameter

    DESCRIPTION
        The Stop-Job cmdlet stops Windows PowerShell background jobs that are in pr
        ogress. You can use this cmdlet to stop all jobs or stop selected jobs base
        d on their name, ID, instance ID, or state, or by passing a job object to S
        top-Job.
        You can use Stop-Job to stop jobs that were started by using Start-Job or t
        he AsJob parameter of Invoke-Command. When you stop a background job, Windo
        ws PowerShell completes all tasks that are pending in that job queue and th
        en ends the job. No new tasks are added to the queue after this command is
        submitted.
        This cmdlet does not delete background jobs. To delete a job, use Remove-Jo
        b.

  • BIP scheduled job stoped work

    BIP with OBIEE 10.3.4 on Orace database. Both OBI and database are on Redhat Linux. We have a few scheduled report to be sent to a printer. It wors fine for many months. But two days ago they stopped work. There is not error messges in BIP Schedules page. In the Schedules>Schedules page, all scheduled job are still there within the data range that scheduled to run daily. In the Schedules>Hiistory page, reports are seen up to 2 days ago. There are no yesterday and today's records.
    Where to find useful info to debug this? Any tips to fix it?
    Thanks.

    The reports haven't been scheduled last two days. In case the schedule is still there, there might be something wrong with actually loading them in the scheduler.
    You could restart the scheduler service, and/or the complete BI server.
    Have you tried manually scheduling a report, to run immediately? What happens?

  • Stopping a scheduled job in OWB

    I need to re-deploy a scheduled job and cannot do so because the job is running. How do I stop the job from the OWB control center (or elsewhere)?
    Thanks,
    Dave

    Hi,
    I don't know if there is an easier way but this should work:
    1. run the script list_requests.sql (it should exist inside your owb home at owb\rtp\sql) using the workspace name as parameter
    2. the job should be listed on the EXECUTIONS section
    3. run the script deactivate_execution (same location as list_requests.sql) passing the audit_id and your workspace as parameteres

  • How to stop a Scheduler Job in Oracle BI Publisher 10g

    Hello!
    Can someone tell me how can I stop a scheduler job in Oracle BI Publisher 10g?
    I scheduled a bursting job to run a report but is running during two days.
    I would like to stop it.
    Thanks.

    Unfortunately there is no way to stop a job once it is being executed. Yes as you read, it is not possible once job has started.
    Same thing applies for running queries.
    Once queries are sent to the DB BIP loses control over them. The message you see (if any) "Click Here to Cancel" does not stop any query
    it is just a message.
    I guess you will have to stop/kill the process in your DB

  • Icloud add-in stopped working with Outlook 2010.

    All of a sudden the add-in stopped working with Oulook 2010 on my Windows 7 PC.  Instead of the refresh button on the toolbar is says "incorrect password."  I have not changed my icloud username or password.  I tried to setup from icloud control panel, but I get an incorrect password error.  Any ideas?

    Followed instructions in another thread.  Ran "repair" on Office.  In iCloud control panel ran the setup. Enabled icloud add-in in Outlook. Seems to be working now.

  • I have a MacBook Pro 13inch 2.4GHz (Intel Core 2 Duo, 4Gb RAM, 250Gb HDD, NVIDIA GeForce 320M graphics, SD card slot, up to 10 hour battery life)bought in October 2010 in the UK. The charger has stopped working. Which model and voltage do I need please?

    I have a MacBook Pro 13inch 2.4GHz (Intel Core 2 Duo, 4Gb RAM, 250Gb HDD, NVIDIA GeForce 320M graphics, SD card slot, up to 10 hour battery life) bought in October 2010. The charger has been playing up for a while now - the light going out but coming back on when I move the cable a bit - faulty connection it seems. It has now stopped working at all.
    Apple UK charge a whopping £65 for a replacement - and the reviews are AWFUL for it!
    I need to know which one I need - 45w, 60w and 80w are listed - can someone tell me please? If I'm going to pay this price I want to make sure I get the right one!
    Also, is a genuine Apple one available on Amazon UK, does anyone know please?
    Any help will be much appreciated.
    Meanwhile my battery is going down.....

    Thanks for that wjosten. Much appreciated.
    I've read here on Apple's site that the 85W version will work, as you say, and that it would run cooler with a 13" Macbook - I have a 13" MBP of course but assume this would be the same with mine. I wonder if running cooler is a good thing (it sounds as if it is) and it would be better for me to get the 85W version than the 60W one?
    Then I have to decide whether to pay the (extortionate as it seems to me, though I may be wrong) £65 from Apple (bearing in mind the rotten reviews here of the Apple product), or risk a cheaper alternative from Amazon UK, at around £20 (also with various rotten reviews)... Any suggestions? Please? :-)
