Scheduling and workcenter operation time

HI.
What is the effect of the capactity operation time of workcenter on scheduling of an activity ?
BR

Hi,
if your work center A  is having time from 8 to 4 then available hrs in one day - 8hr ( if you are utilizing 100%)
if your work load is 100 hrs  then it will schedule as per available hr in work center ( 100/8  + non working -days).
for 2nd work center B if you dont mention time  that means sytem considering available hrs in one day - 24 hrs
if you mention same work load  i.e. 100 hrs, sytem will schedule as per available hrs in One day for that work center (100/24+non working -days).
definitly scheduling will be different  and dates will be different.

  • Scheduled Tasks - System Idle Timer

I recently upgraded to Windows 8.1. Unfortunately, my NIC prevents the system from automatically entering Hibernate (if I disable/unplug it the system sleeps properly). To work around this, I thought I would use a Scheduled Task to run shutdown /h after
x minutes of inactivity (probably an hour).
I set my task's trigger to be an hourly check indefinitely.
I set the action to be shutdown /h
I set the conditions to be:
Start the task only if the computer is idle for: 1 hour (checked)
Wait for idle for: Do not wait
The problem I have found is that the task runs if the computer has been idle for only four minutes as per the Task Idle Conditions states (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/aa383561%28v=vs.85%29.aspx). In my mind I should leave the
computer alone, the hour ticks over and the task is initiated. It should then check to see how long the system has been idle for:
    >= 1 hour? Run the task
< 1 hour? Do nothing until the next hour
What seems to be happening is it is checking for an idle state and running the task, even if the computer has only been idle for the minimum four minutes.
Has anyone else found this issue? Are there any ideas on how I can fix this? My next idea is to write a batch file to sleep for an hour and then hibernate and to have the task cancel the batch process when the system is no longer idle. Seems like it could
    work.
    Thanks in advance.

Hi vdboots. The question is regarding Task Scheduling and the idle timer, not the issues my system has with hibernating automatically.
To answer your query, yes I have disabled all devices from waking the computer. The Microsoft drivers for my NIC for some reason keeps the machine awake. I installed the manufacturer's Windows 7 drivers (of course they didn't release any Windows 8 ones...)
and the machine would sometimes enter hibernation, but mostly would just stay on. The only way I could get the computer to automatically hibernate was to disable the NIC altogether, but that is hardly a solution.
As I said, this question is about why Windows doesn't seem to be waiting for 1 hour idle time before initiating the task. The action of the task is fairly irrelevant, in fact for my testing I just launch cmd and run time /t.

  • Reg: lot size and replenishment lead time

    1. please explain about lot size and replenishment lead time.
    2. please also explain about consumption based planing and in steps explain how to perform manual and automatic reorder point(transc code please)

You use the lot-sizing procedure to determine how the system is to calculate the reorder quantity in the planning run.
A lot size defining the lot-sizing procedure is assigned to every material master record applicable to materials planning.
The lot size is defined in Customizing by the combination of the lot-sizing procedure and the lot-sizing indicator.
Three procedures for lot sizing are available:
    o  static lot-sizing procedures
    o  period lot-sizing procedures
    o  optimizing lot-sizing procedures
You use the lot-size indicator to define the procedure.
The following parameters are also available for controlling the lot-sizing procedure:
    o  Short-term and long-term lot size
You can split the lot-sizing procedure into a short-term and a long-term period. This means that you can select one lot-sizing procedure in the near future and a different one in the distant future.
You define the periods in the section of the screen entitled "End of the short-term period/start of the long-term period".
The valid from date of the long-term lot size area is defined via:
       -  a periodicity
       -  a number of periods
The beginning of the long-term period is calculated by taking today's date and adding the number of periods in the future; the long-term planning period then starts on the next complete period.
       Note
For materials that are planned using the short and long-term lot size,
it is recommended that you define a maximum MRP period. Defining the
MRP period has the effect that materials after a certain period are
included in planning even if no changes relevant to the planning run
have occurred. This avoids a situation where order proposals created
with the long-term lot size move into the short-term period because no
changes relevant to MRP have occurred for the material.
You define the maximum MRP period in the step, "Define maximum MRP
period". A material that is planned on a regular basis should also be
provided with an MRP type that contains the indicator for regular MRP.
    o  Scheduling indicator
For period lot sizes, you can use the indicator for scheduling to
       determine whether the availability date;
o  is to be set to the first requirements date in the period
o  or is to be set to the beginning of the period
o  is to be set to the end of the period
o  or whether the period start represents the beginning of the planned
order and the period end represents the availability date (repetitive
    manufacturing)
      Interpretation of the delivery times
For the lot-sizing procedure, you can also define whether the period
start is to be interpreted as the delivery date or as the availability
date using the indicator, "interpretation of the calendar times".
      NOTE
The indicators, Scheduling and Interpr.deliv.times are mutually
      exclusive.
      Indicator for the splitting quota
For the quota arrangements, you can determine whether the requirements
quantities are to be distributed to several items, that is, whether
they are to be split. With the splitting quota arrangement,
requirement quantities are not simply allocated to the smallest quota
rating. Instead, they are distributed among various sources using the
      following formula:
Quantity for source of supply X = Quota of source X * reqmts quantity
    Sum of all quotas
      Overlapping indicator
The overlapping indicator along with the cycle time in the material
master record are used to split the planned orders into several
partial quantities whereby the in-house production time overlaps by
      the cycle time.
      Lot-sizing procedure for make-to-order production
In make-to-order production, you can use the indicator, Lot size for
      make-to-order production to determine whether,
the order quantity is to be calculated using the exact lot size
the order quantity is to be calculated using the exact lot size and
the system is also to take the rounding quantity or the minimum and
      maximum lot size into account
the order quantity is to be calculated using the lot-sizing procedure
      defined for the short-term area
      Maximum stock level variant
The system only displays the Maximum stock level variant field in the
lot-sizing procedure, Replenishing to maximum stock level. The
indicator only has an effect in connection with reorder point planning
taking external requirements into account and in connection with
material requirements planning and controls how the system calculates
      lot sizes.

  • Error " No working/operating time maintained in work center for scheduling"

    Hello Friends,
When i am scheduling the planned order than in scheduling log, system throwing the error "No working/operating time maintained in work center for scheduling".
    Message no. C7014
But in workcenter, i have attached the grouping and in interval and shift for the available capacity 1, i have maintained the shifts.
According i can see the capacity on that workcenter in CM01.
Same error i am getting when i am scheduling the routing and check the scheduling log.
    Regards,
    Jitendra.

    Hi
Have u checked , to maintain the time required to perform the activity in the work-center?
please check, i think, we have to maintain for each activity type.

  • DIFFERENCES between BASIC SCHEDULING and LEAD-TIME SCHEDULING.

    Hello SAP Gurus,
Kindly let me know the differences between BASIC SCHEDULING and LEAD-TIME SCHEDULING.
    Looking for your early feedback.
    Warm regards,
    Kaushik.

    Hi,
    Basic scheduling :
    1.Basic dates are calculated.
    2.Exact to day.
    3.No cap reqmts are generated.
4.uses the inhouse production time from material master.
5.carried out automatically during planning run.
In basic date calculation ( order start date/ order finish date ) the system always
    calculates backward scheduling.
    1. From the reqmts date the system subtracts the GR processing time to
    calculate the order fininsh date.
    2. From the order finish date the system subtracts the inhouse production time to calculate the order start date.
    3. From the order start date the system subtracts the opening period given in scheduling margin key to calculate the order opening date.
    Lead time scheduling :
    1.Exact to second
2.ie production start date /time and finish date and time are calculated.
    3. cap reqmts are generated.
    4. uses times from routing.
    5. carried out only if the scheduling mode in MD02 screen is kept with indicator 2.
From the order finish date the system subtracts the float after production to calculate the production finish date.
From the production finish date the individual operations in the routing are scheduled backwards to calculate production start date.
From the production start date the system subtracts the float before production
    to calculate order start date.

  • IdM Scheduler and Time Change to Daylight Savings Time GMT to BST

This isn't really a 'question' , but just a topic for discussion.
We're not live yet, but will be by the time the clocks go back. So I'm just interest to hear everyone's experiences and any issues with regards to the switching to / from DST
I did some "interesting" (or not) tests last night to see what happens with Pending Values which are due to take effect at the time change threshold of 01:00 GMT when switching to Daylight Savings Time (BST) GMT +0100.
It seems as if the IdM scheduler keeps going according to UTC or GMT. However any values provisioned to target systems or to local tables using the ddm.datetime8601 system variable are in local time according to the runtime server or SQL server's locale settings.
I set up a task to output from a javascript the current system date
using the following in the functions.
    currentTime = new Date();
return currentTime.toString(); // returns Locale Time String
    currentTime = new Date();
return currentTime.toUTCString(); // returns UTC Time String
in the same pass I also output the ddm.datetime8601 system parameter and the ddm.time24 system parameter.
This task was to update a comment on an entry and Scheduled to run at 00:00:00 and was executed at 00:00:06 GMT all times were still in GMT as expected.
    Local Time: Sun Mar 27 00:00:06 GMT-0000 (GMT) 2011, UTC Time: Sun, 27 Mar 2011 00:00:06 GMT, ddm.datetime8601: 2011-03-27T00:00:06, ddm.time24: 00:00:06
This task was scheduled at 01:00:00 in IdM and was exectued at 01:00:08 GMT by the runtime, and you can see the local time is being correctly reported as 02:00:08 BST. Note also the ddmdatetime8061 is also 02:00:08 i.e. BST.
    Local Time: Sun Mar 27 02:00:08 GMT+0100 (BST) 2011, UTC Time: Sun, 27 Mar 2011 01:00:08 GMT, ddm.datetime8601: 2011-03-27T02:00:08, ddm.time24: 02:00:08
In the database the entry values MXI_VALUES ModifyTime field has the GMT / UTC timestamp.
I also set up some pending value objects to be applied at 00:59:59 and 01:30:00 to see if the 01:30:00 would be 'skipped' as the locl clock change would've gone from 00:59:59 to 02:00:00. Well the pending values were correctly applied and expired and no 'lost' transactions happened as a result of the change.
So essentially it seems to me that the IdM runtime and scheduler times are all based on UTC / GMT.
I guess it's only an issue twice a year if you're expecting something to happen at a specific local time 01:00:00 or if you've got a global user base and their account expiry should be in each user's own country's local time. In these cases, it would seem that you'd need to convert the schedule times and pending value times to UTC first before setting them in the database.
Has anyone else had any issues, thoughts, questions or suggestioins on scheduling tasks which span the DST time change when switching to and from Daylight Savings Time.

Main is under a partition called Open PT. The same DID is under two other partitions (Office 2 and Office 3) where it forwards the call to an international number.
Their group has now requested that on certain holidays (thanksgiving, labor day, etc), all numbers be forwarded to Office 2 and another set of holidays (memorial day, presidents day, etc) forward to Office 3. I've looked at Unity holiday schedules and read over some options and it seems like I would have to get rid of the time period/schedules that I have set up in CUCM and set up a call handler with schedules and holiday schedules. How complex will this be? Can this even be done with the way they want it?

  • ORA-12535 TNS:Operation time Out and ORA-12154:TNS Could not resolve servic

    Greetings!!!
I have installed my Oracle Database 10g & Developer Suite 10g in Windows XP Pro Machine. Oracle Application Server 10g is also installed in Windows 2003 Server machine. Both machine have different domain. When using Form Developer Suite OC4J to run my form program, i can connect to the database properly run the form perfectly.
    Problem encountered.
When I tried to run the form using Application Server 10g(installed in Windows 2003 Server), I got an error ORA-12154:TNS Could not resolve service name when connecting to the database and I got an error ORA-12535 TNS:Operation time Out when using TNSPing. I checked both the configuration of TNSNAMES.ORA(database & Application SErver) using the same port & service name but still got the same error.
Hope somebody can help me out there...
    Many thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    BTF

I have seen this before with my setup, I found that I had to go into the net configuration assistant, and change my host name to the fully qualified name, example: my compuer name is computer1, I had to enter in computer1.OIT.Docfinity.com for it to take. That has always gotten me past that TNS error, just my 2 cents, hope it helps.
    keep on keeping on.

  • What is the maximum operating time of the airport and airport extreme?

What is the maximum operating time of the airport and airport extreme? Can I leave it on for long periods of time, like never turning it off? Will it affect the performance of the said products?

Apple does not include an "Off" button on the AirPorts since they assume that you will leave it on all the time, like you would a modem.
If you are going to be gone for a week or two, it might make sense to power everything off during that time.
Otherwise, leaving the device(s) "On" actually results in less stress on the device that constantly turning it "Off" and "On". In other words, odds are the device will last longer if you leave it "On" most of the time.
Apple does not publish a life expectancy for the devices, but 5-7 years...on average....for a modem or router is about right....my opinion here.

  • Operation Number and workcenter

    Hi expert,

With this information how is possible to know the relative work center ??
Exist some BAPI or some table ?
    Tks a lot,
    bye.

    Hi,
    1)    Goto SE11, give the Table name : WCAAP(WCM: Application)
Get the TPLNR(Function Loc) value for the given Order No(WAPINR).
    2)     Goto Table IFLOT(Functional Location (Table) ): Give the TPLNR value and get the LGWID(Workcenter no)
    3)     Goto Table CRHD (Work Center Header): Give the OBJTY = 'A' and OBJID = above fetched value and get the ARBPL this the Work center for the Given Order

Doublechecking. In the course of your troubleshooting to date have you worked through the following document?
iTunes: Windows reports that "iTunesSetup.exe is not a valid Win32 application"

  • Scheduling and capacity formulas

    Dear Gurus,
I have a question in work centers and scheduling.
I am using a machine category work center in one operation. Operation time in capacity tab is 7.5 hours.
    Number of capacities is 80. So I have 450 minutes * 80 capacities = 37800 minutes.
My processing formula for capacity is SAP006 Machine * Operation quantity / Base quantity.
In routing I have given the processing time as 4 minutes for a base quantity of 1.
My processing scheduling formula is SAP002 Machine * Operation quantity / Base quantity / Operation splits.
    Operation quantity is 3600.
So capacity req is 4*3600/1=14400 minutes.
The system is taking this time and scheduling the operation for 14400 minutes (=32 working days)
It is not considering the number of capacities available(80). How can I bring in the number of capacities into the formula? I think the number of splits does not take care of the number of capacities. right?
    Please guide me.
    thanks and regards,
    Raghu

    Dear,
    1) Do I need to give this number of capacities again in routing ?Not mandatory but if you have 7 individual capacity  but you want to schedule the order on 5 individual capacity in that case you need to define it as 5. Please note required splitting indicator is must. Do I need to change it now? Don't change you can check your result in routing it self go to CO02ExtraSchedulingschedule and check your result with number of split and without number of split.
    2) In the workcenter I have two Capacity categories machine and labor.
Working time 6 AM to 6AM with a break of 30 minutes.
    Capacity utilization 95
    Operating time 22.33 hours
    For machine capacity category
Processing formula Machine rqmts is SAP006
    number of capacities is 43
total capacity with 43 machines is 57,598.50 minutes.
    For labor capacity category
Processing formula Labor rqmts is SAP007 and number of capacities(workmen) is 86 with a total capacity is 115197 minutes.
Dear in SAP scheduling is carried out for only one capacity category i;e machine because it is critical resource, Labour we use to calculate the cost of order. Scheduling time = SET Up+ Processing time (noting but machine time) as labour are simultaneously working on machine. So as your work center category is 001 then number of split is =43.
    Hope clear to you.

    R.Brahmankar
