Screen layout rules for depreciation areas
Hi Experts,
One quick question. Where do we see screeen layout rules for Asset depreciation areas. SPRO path or transaction code to view this would be helpful.
Regards,
Santosh
Hi Ragini
Thanks for reply. It seems transaction code OA78 is wrong. It says transaction code OA78 does not exist. I am working on SAP R/3 4.7 version.
I know that we can define screen layouts for depreciation areas through transaction AO21.
However I would like to know how can we find out screen layout assigned to a particular asset or particular asset class. In transaction OAOA we can see screen layout rule assigned to asset class, but not screen layout for depreciation areas for that asset class.
Any pointers on this would be highly helpful.

Santosh

Hi
one my clint in development screen layout rule has been defined and where as the same has been moved to production but if using the T. co OAYZ it is not maintained , exit screen is appearing , how change or create the screen layout for AUC in production
pls help
regrds
sekarsekar,
The oayz screen is a customizing transaction and normal you are no alowed to make customizing changes in production.
When you don't have the values you set up in development and transported to production you have to look to the error in the transport system.
When you use invesment orders or project, then this setting/ changes (for AUC) are only working for new orders or projects.
In OAYZ you give only default values and activate a depreciation area. This values are proposed when you create new AUC.

Daniel DortaHi Daniel,
You are not using Inflation funcitonality, are not you? Check that in IMG - Financial Accounting (New) - Financial Accounting Global Settings (New) - Inflation Accounting - Inflation Methods - Assign Inflation Methods to Company Codes your company code is not assigned to any inflation methods.

No posting information for depreciation are 30 US GAAP
Dear expert:
We use parallel accounting with account-base solution(specific accounts + common accounts) for local and US GAAP,our system key configure as following:
OADB:define depreciation area
Area. Name of area Real g/l
01 Book depreciation ticked 1
30(Copy 01) US GAAP depreciation ticked 4
FS00:Create G/L accounts according to AO90,One accounts group set of local FA default accounts, another accounts group set of FA for US GAAP which start with "U" .
AO90: define G/L for depreciation area 01 and 30 seperately with different accounts group set of FA.
finanly use f-90/AFAB/ABAVN.. to post, FI document only has the local FA g/l accounts of depreciation area 01, No information about the US GAAP FA G/L accounts of depreciation area 30.
Please help me out ,thanks.
Best regardsHello John
The indicator of Post to G/L account of depreciation area 30 is "4 area posts APC directly and depreciation",here is APC directly, maybe it shouldn't need to run ASKB,
If the indicator of Post to G/L account is "2 APC and depreciation area on periodic basis**" it should need to run ASKB.
I do not quite understand the function ASKB, and system returns error when I run ASKB as you said:

Hi expert
In the document type i have change the screen layout to MBF from copying NBF, but i am not getting effect of changes which i had made for MBF..
Regard
NabilHI,
There are up to six different field selection keys.
Eg: 1. Field selection key: transaction
2. Field selection key: activity type
3. Field selection key: purchasing document type
4. Field selection key: item category/document category
The successive combination of the field selection keys listed above decides which input characteristics the fields have in the document. So not only MBF, it is the combination of the setting that determines the field layout.
+ For mandatory fields
. For optional fields
For display fields
- For suppressed fields
the strongest is suppresed, then display, then mandatory and last is optional.
ie , for eg combine fld sel key 1= suppressed and fld sel key 2 = mandatory, result is field is suppressed. Similarly , ther final result after combining the settings determine the field status.

Substitution rule for Business area in F-02
Dear SAP gurus,
The client has 2 plants at different locations. 2 plants are created as business areas.
Our requirement is, when users at bus area 1 are posting expenditure in f-02, the field business area should be automatically filled with '1000'(bus area 1). the users need not manually update the field Business area since they only operate and post in that location. Same functionality is needed at plant 2 also.
I came to know that this requirement can be fulfilled with Substitutions in SAP.
Can anybody please tell me how to write a substitution rule for the above requirement. Any other ideas are also welcome.
Please help me in this issue.
Thank you very much in advance.
Regards,
Vishnu
VST-ITPWHello,
You have to do two things.
1. First you write the substitution in GGB1
2. Assign the substituion to your comany code OBBH
In OBBH, write substituion at line item level of the document.
If the plant = A
Substitute business area with A
Check if there are any standard substitutions are available in your system
just for your reference.
Hope this resolves your problem.

Good day,
I needed to create a new depreciation area in a live system. The depreciation area would not post to the GL, but would be used for tax purposes in a currency other than the local currency. When creating this area the asset values were translated at the system exchange rate which did not agree with the values of the manually maintained tax register. I proceeded by creating new transaction types that would only post to the new area, one of which was an asset disposal transaction, which would be used for downward adjustment of the APC value. I made my adjustments at the end of the previous financial year, but had to start over and proceeded to delete the depreciation area to allow me to start over.
After reinstating the depreciation area, my original adjustments were removed, however the assets which APC values needed to be adjusted downward using the disposal transaction, was giving me the AA 478 Posting transaction is not possible (value date not allowed) error.
I've reviewed the asset postings and there is no record of my original adjustment documents. The problem seems to be that field ANLA-ABGDT (Last Retirement Date), is still indicating the date of my previous adjustments and that this was not updated when the Depreciation Area was deleted and reinstated.
Again, I do not have any documents which I can access or reverse to update this table. Is there any way to clear this field without reversing the disposal document?
I'm also looking at implementing SAP note 1618286, to make error message AA478 a warning. I could not implement SAP note 533378 since it only supports component version 46c and we are currently running component verson 605.
I would appreciate your consideration of my problem.
Regards
MariusIf you are in Test System, you can use function module AA_AFABER_DELETE to totally delete the depreciation area (tcode SE37, specify chart of depreciation and depreciation area), After that recreate your depreciation area and run AFBN. But before you do that, have you created a retirement transaction type that limits the posting on your new depreciation area? If not create one.
Hope this helps.
Thanks!

FI substitution rule for Business area on New GL view(FAGLFLEXA)
Hi Gurus,
Need a your expertise guidance.
We have a requirement to substitute u2018Business areau2019 field on GL view(table u2013 FAGLFLEXA) for all FI postings.. I am trying to achieve this by OBBH substitution rule using user exit, Is this possible anyway??
I have already worked with my developer, but he is not getting any clue to write a logic in the user exits available in OBBH.. can anyone please guide us..
Actual requirement is to update u2018Business areau2019 field on all FI postings at new GL view for some of the company codes (not all), I am not sure if we can achieve it by activating document splitting by business area field.. we have document splitting active already by profit center and segmentu2026
Please guide me..
Many thanks in advance..
PrasadHI pampana,
If you add the Business area is document splitting char's with Mandatory check box
then reach and very line will update the business area value in Doc splitting.
But you allready have profit center as a doc splitting char's
If you want to Business area is new doc splitting char's then you need
go for NewGL migration.
Please refer the NewGL migration scenario 6, 7 for your case.
please check the link

Cost center screen layout rules
Hi All,
In the cost center master data field cost center catagory and person responsible is mandatory i would like to make it optional can anyone advice how to do.
thanks in advance.
regards,
PranavHello
You can maintain master data for cost centers, cost elements, activity
types, and business processes with time dependencies. You can make
changes at any time for any given time interval. Data storage also takes
place with a time reference. In this way, a master data record can have
multiple database records storing different information.
The smallest interval is one day. To ensure data consistency, you cannot
change each field daily. The timeframes in which you can change a field
depend on the field functions, which are fixed by the system and cannot
be changed. Master data maintenance includes an automatic check for each
field's time-based consistency, resulting in individual time-based
maintenance for each field.
The following dependencies are supported:
o Not time-based
o Day-based
o Period-based
o (Fiscal) year-based
This function provides an overview of the time dependencies of
individual master data fields during master data maintenance, along with
checks and storage of consistency timeframes. You find this information
in the "Time dependency" column.
If you use fields requiring characteristics greater than one day and
which are changed for the system lifetime of the object, the system
automatically creates a new database record for this processing
interval, and changes the time-based validity of existing records. The
change is logged in the master data record with the time reference.
However, a great number of changes in multiple timeframes will result in
a correspondingly great number of data records.
Fields which you can change freely (indicated in the DAY column) can
possess different time dependencies only if you mark them additionally
as historically relevant. This activates the time-based updating for the
records.
Example
Object 1000 has one master data record created with a fiscal year of 12
periods and the cost center name AAAAAAAAAA. During master data
maintenance, you change the cost center name in period 5 to BBBBBBBBBB.
The system reacts with one of two options.
o "Name" is marked as historically relevant. The existing master data
record for periods 1 - 12 must now become three records:
1000 01-04 AAAAAAAAAA
1000 05 BBBBBBBBBB
1000 06-12 AAAAAAAAAA
o "Name" is not marked as historically relevant. The existing master
data record remains intact, with the name changed for the entire
existence of the record:
1000 01-12 BBBBBBBBBB

Error AC519 while Specifing Intervals and Posting Rules for Depreciation.
hi,
i deleted one company code from system and now tring to execute t-code OAYR. i checked there is no assignment of company code with chart of depriciation.
error is like
Company code XXXX is not defined
Message no. AC519
Here XXXX is deleted company code code.
how to resolve this now?
thanks in advance.Hi,
AC519 rises always due to inconsistent customizing. Therefore, this issue is out of the scope of support.
You have to check the content of tables T093C, T093U, T093B, T093D.
There might be entries with value ' ' (initial).
You can delete those entries via debugging or with a self-created z* program for that scope.

Multiple Depreciation Areas for IFRS
Any one tell me about IFRS for Asset Accounting
What are the required Depreciation areas for IFRS
Regards,
Vani.hi
You should use the local rules for depreciation area 01 = local book and
set up your group rules in another depreciation area such as 30 where you can use different GAAP & use relevant depreciation Key.
