Screen sensitivity issues

I'm having a problem with the screen sensitivity on my iPad. There seems to be a certain area on the screen that is dead to the touch. When I try to file up or down in that area it won't work. But if I move over a bit, my touch is then recognized. Sometimes the screen recognizes a down movement but not an up movement. I've checked to make sure the screen is clean and have done a hard reset, which doesn't seem to help. But in writing this, I've found no dead spots. It only seems to be fileing up or down.

I've had a similar issue, was interested to hear of your solutions and will try a restore but doubt it will work because I've had this problem for as long as ive had the ipad. Would be interested to hear how you got on VadimM please.
It first came to my attention when I was on the main screen and trying to reposition certain apps by dragging them across the middle of the screen. Apps on the right of the screen do not drag easy/at-all across the middle part to the left of the screen and vice-versa.
The same has happened in games and apps, for instance Words with Friends there are certain places I just cannot drag a tile to.
When I was using iAnnotatePDF and mucking around with the drawing tool testing this, I couldn't draw a circle (broke in the middle) and couldnt draw a line through that difficult area.
For some of the time I am lucky enough to be able to switch to portrait (or landscape) and reposition the material on the screen so that I am clicking in a different part and avoiding the middle of the screen, but the problem is becoming annoying.
Thanks, anyone else have this problem and any other solutions out there or is my ipad faulty?

  • Phone cutting off - screen sensitivity issue?

When I am taking or making a call, as I hold the phone to my ear, it can cut off and start dialling someone else - its driving me mad. Is there anyway to alter the screen setting or is there something I'm not doing right. phone seems fine in all other respects it just seems crap at being an actual phone. I don't think its a signal issue btw as reported in other discussions? Help! Someone??

The iPhone includes a proximity sensor that should prevent this. When holding the iPhone up to your ear and face, the proximity sensor should turn the iPhone's screen off. When removing the iPhone from your ear and face, the screen turns back on.
    Which iPhone model?
Are you using a case that may be blocking or partially blocking the proximity sensor? If you are using a case, remove the case to see if the same occurs without the case.

  • Iphone 3gs screen sensitivity REVERSED........please help ???

I have 3gs, and for the past few weeks having some wierd issues. hope i can explain it well.
I dunno what happened but my screen sensitivity has reversed, i mean to say generally when we make calls and if the phone is next to your ear the screen turns black and unresponsive to the touch of your ear and once you finish the call and remove the phone from your ear the screen activates to end the call.
in my case this screen sensitivity have reversed, the moment i take my phone next to my ear, the screen activates and thus it becomes responsive to the touch of my ear and as a result automatically the call sometimes go to speakerphone or sometimes go on hold and what not, and as soon as i remove the phone from my ear, the screen blacks out and not showing the screen end call button. i have to end the call through the top button. after a few seconds the screen appears and acts normal for applications and internet stuff. again if i make a call it starts acting in the same reversed way..............
its very very annoying and i need some expert advice. my phone is in its original condition, never unlocked, never jailbroken, with 3.1..........please please help me........hope u all understood what i was trying to say.........

And I thought I was the only one having this strange problem. For me too the automatic screen saving is reversed! Everytime I have a call the screen is on and active right next to my ear. When I want to end a call I have to place my finger on the sensor to activate the screen as it goes black otherwise.
Same while playing the voicemail: it goes black shortly after I start the recording and only would show up with my finger placed on the sensor...
No case. Reset and recovery done. No change.
So I guess we have a hardware problem.
I will go to my local dealer next monday to let them have a look!
    Cheers.

  • Wacom / Bamboo CTL-470, Sensitivity Issue After 4~ secs

    Hey guys.
I'm using a Bamboo CTL-470 tablet that has a pretty significant issue that does not exist in Windows (this is a dual boot system and I've tested it just this morning to confirm). After installing using https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=131831 to install the tablet, I can confirm the tablet does indeed work in X. This can be shown using MyPaint, Gimp, even using the tablet as a mouse temporarily.
The only problem that I cannot dodge seems to involve the sensitivity. It seems every four to five seconds when drawing a straight line the tablet completely loses it's ability to make a mark for all of a split second, and then it begins writing again at a much less sensitive rate.. which, it's worth noting, I haven't changed how hard my pen is pressing on the tablet at this point.
I'm not sure how else to describe it other than the above, but I can tell you it makes drawing virtually impossible if you're wanting long, smooth lines.
I can tell you this seems to be a sensitivity issue because if I disable sensitivity and try drawing with it as a sketch w/ no differences in how hard the pen is being pressed, the pen continues writing smooth, long lines.
Having top running while MyPaint is going shows python 2.7 is running around 9% CPU while the tablet is in use. And it doesn't seem there are any other processes that would give issue every four to five seconds.. ??
I'll try about anything to prevent logging back into Windows just to draw. Any suggestions?

Okay, totally not sure whether or not to mark this 'solved' because this does indeed help the sensitivity issue, but there's another problem that is worth talking about.
Since using this wacom.ko and installing it (like mentioned in another Wacom thread I've been replying to), it seems suddenly the mouse in X / KDE 4.8 goes absolutely haywire and shoots to the left side of the screen, and the tablet will work but then the mouse will shoot off to the left side again. The only fix to this I'm aware of for the interim, interestingly, is by hitting CTRL+ALT+F1 and then CTRL+ALT+F7 to come back to X, which the mouse and tablet both function normally again.
Besides the fact the screen also goes absolutely haywire and shoots through all of the virtual desktops (I've 4 of them), Yakuake reports an up arrow ASCII being sent over and over and over.
In an hour period, the tablet causing the mouse to go crazy has happened automagically without my input four times. I don't seem to do anything to trigger it, either.. the mouse just kind of randomly starts going nuts.
Does this happen to anyone else? Suggestions to fix it?
** EDIT: The QPainter issue was not related to this, therefore it's removal from this thread is required. One word: QMMP.

  • [Bug] Z2 Touch Screen Sensitivity (Random Glove Mode)

Firmware: Xperia Z2 running 17.1.1.A.0.402 and latest 17.1.2.A.314 firmware (previous firmware I'm not sure)
Bug: Glove mode randomly turns on, but in display setting it shows off.
    Details:
This happens all the time. Screen sensitivity increases as if glove mode was turned on. But glove mode is actually showed as off in display settings.  Temporary workaround: Turn the display off and on. Usually last no more than 1minute before this bug reappears. Not working steps:
    1. Turn glove mode on and off.
    2. Turn off tap to wake up.
    3. Reduce and increase screen time out.
    4. Apply and remove screen protector and tempered glass.
    5. Turn x-reality on and off.
    6. Turn auto-rotation on and off.7. Turn smart backlight control on and off.
If you need any info from me I'm happy to help. This bug is really annoying, it causes unwanted touches.

i have update to LOLLLIPOP 23.1.A.0.726 and the screen hypersensitive issue still exist.there is no difference between "glove mode "on or off .I turned off "tap to wake" because I opened the phone in my pocket. PS : I did update to version 23.1.A.1.28 and screen sensitivity remains the same. Hopefully SONY will release a new update with improved screen sensitivity

  • Lumia 1320 screen sensitivity

    just as lumia 1520 in discussions.nokia. com/t5Nokia-Lumia/Lumia-1520-Screen-Sensitivity/td-p/2278919
Lumia 1320 has the same problem, lots of people in vietnam got it. My 1320 is also bad, it's really pathetic to browse, navigate on IE or app.... since i cannot touch properly with the screen especially with a small finger like pointed finger.
I own Samsung focus, Lumia 1020 and 720 and have no problem at all with these phones.
Please take a look at the problem.
by the way, your flood/spam dectection is dumb as it blocks me from posting another link from nokia.com
    Nam Vo

First step is to ask on here, next is to speak to Nokia asap and keep asking.
Problem is they do not want to admit to any fault...no company does due to sales, so they sell stuff and fix after we buy it...or maybe not, so best thing to do is speak to them/complain as its your right, this will speed up any fix on way.
I would rather they said "yes we know of a few issues which we are working on and will fix asap" that informs me, that buys them time and helps people, what does not help is the whole "what issue, odd you are the first person to mention this issue, I will pass it on to our tech dept" that been a lie, that makes me want to go right back to android.
Always keep your customers in the loop....or see them turn away.

  • TS3232 I have the mini DisplayPort to Dual-Link DVI Adapter firmware 1.03 and I still have screen flickering issues

I have the mini DisplayPort to Dual-Link DVI Adapter firmware 1.03 and I still have massive screen flickering issues on a Mac Mini 2012.
I am using a Dell 30" monitor (it's the Samsung screen just rebranded) connected to a WD 4TB Thunderbolt drive connected to the Mac Mini.
The screen is usable for the most part when I've just started the computer (although today I started having issues after a fresh restart) but if even just the screen goes to sleep, or the computer goes to sleep and I wake it later, I start to have massive flickering to black and occasionally to snow.
The effect seems to be more likely to arise when I'm on heavy graphics-intensive websites or programs (eg, Tumblr feed with lots of GIF images or working in Adobe Premiere), but once it starts shutting down those programs has no effect, the screen keeps flickering wildly.
The problem improved after the 1.03 firmware upgrade (for a while it was flickering uncontrollably ALL the time and was virtually unusable) but it has not gone away.
Any suggestions would be very welcome, either for how to fix this issue or how to get Apple to, you know, let me TELL THEM that their adapter firmware fix has NOT solved the issue, since my phone support has expired. :/

I have a new Mini DisplayPort to Dual-Link DVI Adapter to allow my original Apple 30" Cinema Display to connect to the new Mac Pro.  Shipped straight from Apple, it is firmware version 1.03.  I've never had flickering issues, but the display will often go black (possibly after a screen power save) and not come back.  when this happens I am still able to connect to and use the Mac via remote connection.  But the only way to get the screen back is either to unplug the adapter and plug it back in to the Mac, or to shut down and power up the Mac.  This may be a separate issue, so I'll also post it standalone...

  • Mac Pro Screen Freezing Issue with NVIDIA 8800 GT too

There were lots of entry in threads, where the screen freezing issue was described (disorted screen with strange lines, only reboot helps). Nearly all cases seem to be related to the ATI 2600 card.
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1358062&tstart=30
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1365277&tstart=0
I opened this new thread to show, that this problems occurs not only for the ATI card but for the NVIDIA 8800 card, too.
My MacPro was delivered 8 days ago and was running without any problems. But all of a sudden, I got that screen freeze. And it wasn't the first time, I was heavely working 2-3 hours with that computer.
In total, 2 screen freezes showed on my computer. The first one during working with the computer. The second one during booting into MacOS X. The screen freeze occured during the boot phase with the grey screen and the spinning wheel.
    My configuration:
    MacPro 2.8, Dual Quad Core
    6 GB RAM
3 harddisks, 1 standard from Apple, 2 Samsung with 750GB
    MacOS 10.5.2
    Formac 20" Monitor
Perhaps others have this problem, too? Than we should emphasize, that this is not an ATI related problem.

I've actually been having the freezing issue for a while now but I didn't have the know-how to troubleshoot it (PC tech trying to support the only Mac lab in the building).
MacPro will freeze randomly (no trend in time, system strain, or open programs). The mouse will operate but will not interact with anything.
    Specs:
    MacPro - Model 1,1
    Dual Core Xeon 2.66
    2gb RAM
    nVidia GeForce 7300 GT
    Mac OS 10.4.11
The machine always has 2 displays connected to it so the workaround that was discussed for the ATI 2600 doesn't apply. I had 1 display connected here in my shop and it froze for that as well.

  • Case Sensitivity Issue with Latin Characters

    Hi,
The Latin Character that i am talking abt is "i",
I am trying to provide in my application the support for Azeri-Latin(Turkish family) Characters,
That is the display and the orientation of characters is perfectly fine throughout the flow of application.
But now there is a problem when selecting a data from DB using like constraint in where clause... The issue has been elaborated below...
From the set of characters there are two character in which i am facing Case Sensitivity issue...
    They are as,
    i ---> the capital of same is ---> İ
    ı ---> the capital of same is ---> I
    now in english character mapping,
    for i ---> the capital is ---> I
So, this is creating an issue...
Now the test i have done is as follows,
    I created a table as,
    Create Table CS
    CS1 VARCHAR2(20)
Following is the data that is inserted in the table,
    Insert into CS values('İ');
    Insert into CS values('i');
    Insert into CS values('I');
    Insert into CS values('ı');
now i am running the following query,
    Select * from CS where lower(CS1) like lower('%&a%');
for characters "i","İ","I" it returns 3 rows, that are,
    i
    İ
    I
and for character ı it only returns,
    ı
ideally for characters "i" & "İ" should be mapped with each other and "ı" & "I" should be mapped with each other respectively.
But that is not the case.
    I am using Oracle 10g
    my NLS_database_parameters are as follows,
    PARAMETER     VALUE
    NLS_LANGUAGE     AMERICAN
    NLS_TERRITORY     AMERICA
    NLS_CURRENCY     $
    NLS_ISO_CURRENCY     AMERICA

    NLS_NCHAR_CHARACTERSET     AL16UTF16
    NLS_RDBMS_VERSION     10.2.0.1.0
and at client i m using,
    NLS_LANG = .AL32UTF8
any help on this issue will be appreciated,
    Thanks & Regards,
    Pratik

I'm not fully understand your question but I guess you may need to set up NLS_LANGUAGE, NLS_TERRITORY db parameters and client NLS_LANG.
eg client NLS_LANG=TURKISH_AZERBAIJAN.AL32UTF8 and db parameters NLS_LANGUAGE=TURKISH, NLS_TERRITORY=AZERBAIJAN
Full list of supported languages, locales see [Oracle® Database Globalization Support Guide local data subpage|http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14225/applocaledata.htm]
    or tip2: check this: ALTER SESSION SET NLS_COMP=LINGUISTIC;
Edited by: Kecskemethy on Mar 24, 2009 3:14 AM
or you need something like this:
Example 5-16 Matching with the Base Letter Operator [==]
    Expression: r[[=e=]]sum[[=e=]]
    Matches:
    resume<<
    résumé<<
    résume<<
resumé<<Oracle SQL syntax: SQL> SELECT col FROM test WHERE REGEXP_LIKE(col,'r[[=e=]]sum[[=e=]]');Edited by: Kecskemethy on Mar 24, 2009 3:20 AM

  • Screen Tearing Issues

As of today, my Mac Mini has experienced severe screen tearing issues, it generally happens on Chrome but has started to also happen on other applications such as Pages. My Mac Mini is virtually brand new and has been used for about 2 weeks. I am using an TV via an HDMI cable. It is the 2.3ghz model with 4gb RAM.  The OS is Mavericks. I have tried restarting but that didn't help. Plus the Mac is now hot with very little apps open (Minecraft, Chrome (1tab)) and the fan is loud.

Doesn't sound good... You have 90 days free phone support and a one year warranty on your Mac Mini.
I would Contact Apple Support or the Apple Store where you made the purchased and have it checked out.
Additionally you might wat to get AppleCare, which extends the phone support and warranty to three full years.

  • Screen redraw issues

    Hi everyone
My new Macbook appears to have screen redraw issues (as I've mentioned in other posts). It often does not redraw the screen quickly or smoothly. It may redraw the screen in bands from the top, or the Dock may come up in jerks. Also, the cursor often freezes, especially when switching from one app. to another, or after performing a function in an app (e.g. Save, or Delete in Finder). Messing around with the keyboard or trying another function often unfreezes the cursor again. It's frustrating.
I think it's probably a compatibility issue, since quite a few of the applications I transferred over from my iBook are not yet available as fat binaries ("universal" binaries). Yet they seem to work OK. I'll post about that separately.
If anyone else has experienced screen redraw issues, I'd be interested to hear about them. This machine should run much faster than my iBook, not much more slowly.

Thanks again, Shawn. I wasn't sure whether to post all the problems as one mess, or separately so people could search for them separately. I decided on separately, in case they weren't related, but mentioned the other bits in each post in case they were.
I myself searched under all these problems, but had little success. I don't know if that's an artefact of the Search or not. I suppose it depends on things like using "frozen cursor" or "freezing cursor". I certainly found more posts related to my problems when I read all the forum posts for MacBook Users. It took quite a while, but was more productive than searching. I'd rather not have to spend quite as much time on finding data, though.
    Thanks again.

  • Inserting & Deleting in Trees?? Time sensitive issue

We have a tree that is populated with information linked to a client. When the user clicks on a node, it populates a block to the right with that data. Then the user can manipulate that data on the block to the right. If the users inserts a new record in the block on the right, in the key-crerec trigger for that block, I am also inserted a node into the tree with "[] New Item" as the Label and "0" as the value. My question is how do I delete this node if the user decides not to save. For example, they insert a new record, fill in all the data and then click on another node in the tree (to see it's data). The form pops the message "Do you want to save your changes?" (this message is coming from FORMS not me. If the user says "No". The record is not saved but the node still appears in the tree. Where do I put the code to delete the node?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. This is a time sensitive issue.

Just a guess (never did that before) - servlets are server-side code. As you already suspected, it's looking for that c:\... file on the server, not on the client. Shouldn't you instead get the upload (input) stream from the request?

  • Windows 2008 R2 Screen Lock Issue (GPO)

Scenario: We will be deploying POS machines at our stores that will have Windows 2008 R2 as the preferred OS. The function of this POS machine is for POS administration and not for ringing up sales. The machines have been configured to autologin a specific
user via GPO for POS functions. Also, a specific POS desktop environment shell has been configured to launch instead of Explorer (explorer.exe) shell environment at autologon.
Everything seems to be working as expected except for the session of the user locking. Since the POS environment needs to be up at all times with the specific user profile, we do not want the OS to lock the user session. I've timed it and it seems to lock
the screen (not log off) at approximately 15 minutes of inactivity, we do not want this.
So far, these are the GPOs I have configured that have not fixed the issue:
Computer Configuration>Policies>Windows Settings>Security Settings>Local Policies>Security Options>Microsoft Network Server: Amount of idle time required before suspending session = 99999 minutes
Computer Configuration>Policies>Administrative Templates>System>Power Management>Sleep Settings>Allow applications to prevent automatic sleep (plugged in) = Enabled
    Computer Configuration>Policies>Administrative Templates>System>Power Management>Sleep Settings>Require a password when a computer wakes (plugged in) = Disabled
    Computer Configuration>Policies>Administrative Templates>System>Power Management>Sleep Settings>Turn off hybrid sleep (plugged in) = Enabled
Computer Configuration>Policies>Administrative Templates>System>Power Management>Sleep Settings>Turn on the ability for applications to prevent sleep transitions (plugged in) = Enabled
    Computer Configuration>Policies>Administrative Templates>System>Power Management>Video and Display Settings>Turn off the display (plugged in) = Enabled = 99999 seconds
    User Configuration>Policies>Administrative Templates>Control Panel>Personalization>Enable screen saver = Disabled
User Configuration>Policies>Administrative Templates>Control Panel>Personalization>Password protect the screen saver = Disabled
    User Configuration>Policies>Administrative Templates>System>Ctrl+Alt+Del Options>Remove Lock Computer = Enabled
    User Configuration>Preferences>Windows Settings>Registry>HKCU>Control Panel>Desktop>ScreenSaveActive = 0
What are we doing wrong? How do I configure the OS to not lock the user session but keep it active at all times?
As a side note: We have Windows 7 POS machines also that will be ringing up sales that we do not have the screen lock issue.

    Hi,
    >>Please see my setting indicated in my original post. We have Turn Off the Display set to 99999 seconds.
I understand that we have set the Turn Off the Display for this amount of time. However, just for double check, we can go to the power plan we are using to check if the setting has been applied successfully. If the setting has been applied successfully,
it should be grayed out. Or, we can run command gpresult/h gpreport.html
with admin privileges to collect group policy result report to check this.
Besides, do we use other third party software to protect our computer? We can try to clean boot the server to see if the situation persists.
Regarding how to perform a clean boot, the following article can be referred to for more information.

  • Firefox version 22 screen tearing issue with video

So I've updated to Firefox 22 and have recently started noticing this really annoying screen tearing issue when scrolling. its only when i use Firefox sometimes it happens when I'm watching videos sometimes it just happens on normal every day pages. I've tried to duplicate this issue in other browsers (Chrome) and it just only seems to happen with Firefox. anyone else experienced this and knows how to stop it? kinda annoying

    Hello,
'''Try Firefox Safe Mode''' to see if the problem goes away. Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most add-ons.
''(If you're not using it, switch to the Default theme.)''
    * You can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by holding the '''Shift''' key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
    * Or open the Help menu and click on the '''Restart with Add-ons Disabled...''' menu item while Firefox is running.
''Once you get the pop-up, just select "'Start in Safe Mode"''
'''''If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode''''', your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. Please follow the [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] article for that.
''To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.''
''When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help other users who have the same problem.''
    Thank you.

  • IDCS2 Screen Redraw issues

We're having screen redraw issues when panning and zooming pages. Getting screen anomolies and jittery display performance. It only happens when using InDesign, no other apps exhibit similar issues.
    PC specs are:
    WinXP Prop SP2
    Dell Optiplex GX620, 2GB RAM
ATI Radeon X600, 256MB Video Card
    Dual Dell 19" Flat Displays
Tried setting Display Performance slider in Prefs to middle setting and still getting redraw problems.
Is there a setting for the video card that might help?
    Thanks,
    -Danny

InDesign is known to have display issues with scrolling (white bars appearing where the edge of the screen used to be), although I don't believe I've ever seen it panning. As far as I know there is nothing you can do but grumble.
Not a lot of help, I'm afraid.
