Script on page causing flash player to run slow

I am trying to use webmaker( magix) and as I get to the load
page I get this message... script on this page is making flash
player run slow and may cause computer to be unresponsive do you
want to abort after 4 days of trying could anyone tell me what the
problem could be please

I don't understand why I would use onEnterFrame(). The entire
program only needs one frame to exist on, but maybe I don't
understand how Flash needs to manage these things. I am a C++/Cocoa
programmer rewriting a program that my boss made years ago in
Visual BASIC. What made it work for him was to call DoEvents every
600 itterations, which pauses the execution so that the system can
catch up with it's own stuff. Are you saying that onEnterFrame will
do this too? How will this work if the calculation only starts when
a button is pressed. Does the entire calculation routine need to
take place on a different frame?
Could you explain these things?

                                             No     Yes"

    Hi,
Some "movies' are actually Flash files.
This means the Flash App will play them (possibly in a browser in some cases).
Depending where this item is and how it is playing it may be effected by other things
A web page can include javascript.
Apple uses javascript here to help with creating the posting box, the Edit options, Adding pics/smilies and the like.
Sometimes the javascript can be what is called a runaway process and gets sort of stuck in an endless loop.
If it is a free standing item then it might be triggered by AppleScript on the Mac. (or be modified in some way)
Again if the Script (normally written with a upper case S) is not perfect it can cause problems.

  • Receive error: "A script in this movie is causing Adobe Flash Player to run slowly..." Firefox problem? Adobe problem? Malware?

While browsing a variety of site, while running no movies at all, I receive the following message:"A script in this movie is causing Adobe Flash Player to run slowly. If it continues to run, your computer may become unresponsive. Do you want to abort the script?" I click "ok", error message disappears. minutes later, error message re-appears.
I've removed Adobe Flash, cleaned registry, rebooted, all to no avail.

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
*Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window or otherwise make changes.

You can check for problems with current Flash plugin versions and try these:
*disable a possible RealPlayer Browser Record Plugin extension for Firefox and update the RealPlayer if installed
*disable protected mode in Flash 11.3 and later
*disable hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin

  • How do i set up flash player to run only the audio files

How do I set up the flash player to run only audio files?  Every time i set up I tunes to work,, the flash player takes over all files that it wants and I cannont see my files for work.  I want it to only auto run audio files and not my GIF's, & TIFF files.

Well I had a terrible brain burp!,, I ment to say Quick Time.  In my business I have to go back at times and view TIFF files.  Every since I installed ITunes on my new computer...  Quick Time opens the files where MS Photo Viewer used to, and I can only see page 1 in Quick Time.  This is a problem for me as the only way I can view my TIFF files is to save them to my desk top and then open them in MS Photo Viewer.  Then I have to delete them after viewing..  I view files several times a day and this extra step has become a very larg pain in the fanny.

  • Adobe flash player 10.2 slows down then locks up Internet explorer 9

I have new windows 7, IE9 (which is great), but when new adobe flash player 10.2 installed, slows IE9 a lot and after switching to a few different sites, locks up IE9 completely. This is on all 3 of our computers. Uninstall newest flash player, IE9 runs smooth and fast once again. I have tried all ways, to install player first, then update IE8 to 9, and vice versa, nothing changes the outcome is always the same. I love IE9 because it's so much faster loading than IE8, but this flash player issue is a real headache and can't figure out why. Is there a patch for this? What is the problem? Thanks for your help

Okay, thanks for your advice, which gratefully turned out to be good advice!  I downloaded and installed Adobe Flash Player 10.2.152.32 assuming that Adobe Flash Player 10.2.152.32 would replace my previously existing Adobe Flash Player 10.1.102.64 installation in my Mozilla Firefox Web browser.  At a similar time that Web browser was updated from version 3.6.13 to version 3.6.14 of it.  In Firefox's "Tools" menu's "Add-ons" I could then see "Shockwave Flash 10.2.152.32" and "Shockwave 10.2r152" listed and assume that those are two designations of the same add-on.  In 32-bit Windows XP Home Edition I returned my Hewlett Packard notebook computer's S3 Graphics TwisterK HP card's video memory to 16 MegaBytes (MB) via "Start, Control Panel, Display, Settings, Advanced, S3Info Plus" and on the drop-down list box selecting 16 MB instead of 32 MB; after that I clicked on "Apply" and in the successful change clicked on "Yes" to a necessary restart of my computer to effect the change, and may or may not have clicked on one or two "OK"s.  I tested the new Flash Player by playing and watching a portion of the movie under "Adobe Flash-Video Test" on the Web page http://www.chemgapedia.de/vsengine/info/en/help/requirements/flash.html.  The video and audio signals of the movie there gratefully appeared to be fine, other than the not-surprising waiting periods for data to be received on my computer from the Internet using my slow, but cheap dial-up Internet service.  Thanks again for what proved to be good advice for me!

  • Why Flash Player Is Buffering Slow After Windows 8 Update

After I have updated my windows  8 in my HP Pavilion N-15 Core i-3 notebook, the flash player is running creepy and I am unable to watch and stream videos online.
That is very frustrating, I asked microsoft about this but they said there may be problem in flash player. I tried to figure out what causing this creepy streaming but haven't resolved this issue. Can any one help me over this?
    Thanks

1.) Do you have the same issue in other browsers?
2.) Do you see an improvement when you disable hardware acceleration (instructions in the troubleshooting guide below):
         https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html
3.) Are you using any ad-blocking, anti-tracking, video capture plugins or software firewalls?  If so, what are they (include versions)?
If you're still stuck, please follow the directions in the guide on providing the dxdiag report and additional information about what you tested and saw.

  • Parallel hint causes a query to run slower?

I have an insert...select query where the select is a join between a table with one billion rows (although there is a where clause on an indexed column that restricts it to "only" 300 million), a table with 30 million rows, and a table with about 100,000 rows, where the result is about 20 rows. When I first ran it, it took about 2 hours. I added a Parallel hint, and explain plan showed that it was being used (and v$session showed that I had about 30 additional connections while it ran). but not it takes four hours.
Is there a reason parallel processing would cause a query to run slower?

    Igor - two questions:
One - I cannot find "Materialize" in the hints in the SQL Reference anywhere. What does it do?
Two - does replacing subqueries with With clauses make that much of a difference?

  • Flash player 10 very slow to initialise

Hi , does somenone know why the flash player is so slow on my
computer on certain web sites since I upgraded to flash player 10
    version ? ( i don't have any problem with the 9 version)
In fact, it takes easily 20-30 seconds to initialise and then
    all is fine.
    On certain website it's ok.
( and of course the site that I am developping is slow since
    flash player 10)
    thanks a lot!

    up up !

  • "Script is causing Flash Player 9 to run slowly"

    Hello,
Ever since I changed over to a MAC OS X running Flash CS3,
I've been running into problems. One of the problems that I'm
facing is when I publish my fla file within Flash and view the
HTML, it views ok. But when I upload my swf and html to my server
my swf doesn't play and I receive a browser message:
A script in this movie is causing Adobe Flash Player 9 to run
slowly. If it continues to run, your computer may become
unresponsive. Do you want to abort the script?
My publish settings for my fla is:
Version: Flash Player 8 (even if I change this version to
Flash Player 9 I still get the browser message.
    Load order: Bottom up
    ActionScript version: Actionscript 2.0
And I've also tried embedding the swf in Dreamweaver CS3 but
I still receive the browser message. In the first frame of my fla
file, I do have #include "script.as" and there are no errors in
this script.as file. I initially created this fla on a PC using
Flash 8 and now on Flash CS3 my thumbnail images don't show.
Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?
    Thanks so much!

    Your loader is wrong.
It seems that you try to load _root (the main/root movie)
    itself but it's
not possible as the loader is inside _root.
Content must be loaded inside a child movie of _root.
Anyway, I don't think that it's this part that triggers the
    message as
    there's not loop inside.
    Don't you have code elsewhere?
