Search error-Query component status initialzing

When I try to search anything on my sharepoint site its is showing Internal Server Exception.
When I looked into the Central Administartion->Search Service:Search Administration, the Query Component 0 status is stuck on
initilialzing. So how can I solve this and make the query component 0 online.

Try Moving the Query Components
Open SharePoint 2010 Central Administration.
Select Managed service applications under Application Management.
On the Services Applications page, select the Search Service Application.
On the Search Administration page, locate the Search Application Topology section and click Modify.
On the Topology for Search Service Application: Search Service Application page, locate the Index Partition category. (The default Query Component
is typically named Query Component 0). Click Query Component 0 and then click Edit Properties.
On the Edit Query Component page, select a server in the topology from the Server drop-down list and then click OK.  This will move the Query
Component to the selected server.
If the query status still shows "initializing"
Run the commands below to check the Query status as per article
http://help.outlook.com/en-us/140/ff607963.aspx
PS C:\Users\Administrator> $qc = Get-SpEnterpriseSearchQueryComponent -QueryTopology  and then run the command
then run the command to set the status to active as per article:
http://help.outlook.com/en-us/140/ff607665.aspx
PS C:\Users\Administrator> $qc = Get-SpEnterpriseSearchQueryComponent -Identity [identity] -Active
and then the status by running
PS C:\Users\Administrator> $qc | fl Name, State
If it is showing initializing then delete the current SSA and created a new one by following an article:

  • Application Manager - Error retrieving component status

    Hello!
I have succesfully installed Portal 2.1 with loadbalancing and accessing from outside and inside, everything work as expected. In my environment exist two nodes in full mode and one with "connector only" mode. In system health, on connector only node i have message: Application Manager - Integrated Components: Error retrieving component status. I think, this is right. Connector don't work as application manager, why this message is displayed?
    Regards,

    Hello,
Ravi you're right, I've tried to clone ughp1 (and run as connector only), but it did not work. In ServiceInstance table exists entry with ughp3, can I simply delete the row from a table?

    Hi Gaurav,
Please go to Central Administration->Manage services on server, stop and re-start SharePoint Server Search service and Search Query and Site Settings Service. Then open a Command Prompt window and type net stop osearch14 to stop the search service. Type
net start osearch14 to restart the search service.
If failure persists, add a new query component as a mirror in the same query group as the failed query component.

Are you creating the new topology using Central Administration or PowerShell?
It looks like there is an issue synchronizing the search configuration files in the share.

  • Class Cast exception when clicking Search Button in Query component

    Hi
We have to implement the Query component in ADF programmatically.. We are using Toplink as the Model layer for ADF.
We followed the Web User Interface Guide for ADF development, Chapter 12 (Using Query Components) for the same.
We already have implemented the following classes:
    1) QueryModel
    2) QueryDescriptor
    3) AttributeDescriptor
    4) ConjuctionCriterion
    5) AttributeCriterion etc.
We are able to see the Search panel in UI with selected fields in Basic as well as Advanced mode.
When we click on Search button, we are getting Class Cast exception.
The stacktrace of the exception is below:

I am working on a project that utilize Oracle Ultra Search that will crawl and tag documents in the database.
The initial code that uses pure JDBC was working fine, but when we switch to get database connection from dataSource, we are getting classCast exception inside Oracle's ultra search. The problems is that the class we get from dataSource.getConnection() returns
"weblogic.jdbc.wrapper.JTSConnection_oracle_jdbc_driver_T4CConnection". But Oracle UltraSearch is not expecting that.
Is there anyway to unwrap the connection that we get from dataSource ? I tried casting to OracleConnection,
assign the connection to "oracle.jdbc.driver.T4CConnection" without any success.
    Any help would be appricated.
ThanksHi Gary. If the code you want to run is running inside WebLogic, such as in a JSP,
then look for our documentation on our JDBC extension 'getVendorConnection()". It
will get you a direct Oracle connection for their mis-declared UltraSearch
classes (they declare they take java.sql.Connection, but they really demand a
concrete thin driver connection. No other Oracle driver will be given a chance).

  • Reorder Saved Search items in af:query component

    Hi,
Is there any way to change the order of Saved Searches listed in the af:query component. The order that the view criteria are displayed in this component does not seem to have any relationship to the order that they occur in the VO.xml file, nor are they listed alphabetically.
I'm only interested in ordering the view criteria in the choice list, that I have configured at design time.
    Is this possible?

forgot to mention in my initial post that I'm using Jdeveloper 11g Rel 1.
    Thanks,

  • Performance Dialogue error - Query "Status Overview is already open in ano

    Hi All,
    We implemented ESS MSS on Portal 7.01 SP8. With With SAP_ESS 603 SP7 and BP_ERP5ESS 1.41 SP9
This is for country Qatar and it has made as a copy of GB as SAP doesnt provide any country structure for Qatar.
We are facing error in Performance Dialog saying "Query "Status Overview is already open in another session" when click / display button is clicked after selecting the Appriasal document in ESS.
This is working fine for all other countries and also this works fine if another country's portal role is assigned to same PRNR or test user.
We cant see any locks in backend / portal.
    Please can someone help.

    Hi Siddharth,
We have already checked and there were/are no locks in Sm12.
I tried deleting the locks using the mentioned program, in result is does say that ! query found but when I go to Portal and open the Performance Dialogue document , I still get the error Query " " is already open in another session
Note 1432358 is for  SAP_BASIS >= 701 which is suitable for our case but, just wanted to check, Performance dialogue works fine for all other countries and only for this particular country it's not working.
We are able to replicate this in Development and Test, both the environments.
Also, when this particular user is assigned, another country's portal roles the problem doesnt occur.
    Any clues?

  • Component Status not updating since upgrade from SCCM2012 SP1 CU3 to SCCM2012 R2

Since upgrading to SCCM2012 R2 three days ago, in the Configuration Manager console when we go to Monitoring > System Status > Component Status and view the status messages for any component, there are no entries since the time of our upgrade.  All
    components are this way.
I've checked the logs and information is flowing through them and everything else seems to be running smoothly, but there are no updates to items in Component Status.  There was only one warning in the R2 prereq checker, the ConfigMgrPrereq.log shows:
<11-08-2013 15:33:30> ERROR: Site server does not have create child permission on AD 'System Management'
<11-08-2013 15:33:30> WARN: Site server does not have delete child permission on AD 'System Management'
<11-08-2013 15:33:30> [primary site server];    Verify site server permissions to publish to Active Directory.;    Warning;    The site server might be unable to publish to Active Directory. The computer account for
the site server must have Full Control permissions to the System Management container in its Active Directory domain. You can ignore this warning if you have manually verified these permissions. For more information about your options to configure required
    permissions, see http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/p/?LinkId=233190.
I have confirmed via ADUC and ADSIEdit that the primary site server computer account does have full control over the System Management container.
We are running a single site server with separately hosted site database server and several remote distribution point site systems.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Problem solved!
I was looking in the statmgr.log file and spotted an error about a bad SQL transaction.  Some searching on this lead me to this Microsoft KB article: http://support.microsoft.com/KB/884123.  Even though it is for SMS2003 it lead me to check the
\inboxes\statmgr.box\retry\ folder and sure enough there were ~5100 .sql files waiting.  As per the instructions in the document, I stopped the SMS_EXECUTIVE service, deleted the oldest .sql file and then restarted the service.  The file count in
the \Retry\ folder is dropping and status messages are flowing.  I now just have to wait for the 6 days of status messages to process.
Thanks everyone for your assistance :)

  • Programmatically Load Query Component on Page Load

    Hi All.
We have a requirement in which we need to populate the fields of a query component and execute the query...upon loading of the page.
    Our use case:
We have a page in which there is an analytic showing counts of requests in different status (i.e. Open, Closed, In Process).
    Status Count
    ==== ====
    Closed _5_
    Open _3_
    In Process _6_
When the user clicks on the count (which is a hyperlink) we want to take them to the "Search for Requests" page with the criteria filled out and the query automatically executed. For example, if the user clicks on the count of "5" (for Closed)....they will be transferred to the "Search for Requests" page. The query field of "Status" will be defaulted with "Closed" and the query automatically executed (with the 5 requests shown in the result set).
We are using page fragments (.jsff) in bounded ADF task flows.
I am thinking that we need to set up a default activity in the "Search for Requests" task flow that will call the AM Impl method to handle this on the model side but I am unclear on how to programmatically set the criteria that is used in a query component?
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks.
    D

In the processRequest of your controller you can invoke a method in the AM which in turn invokes a method in the Search VO which sets the where clause and executes the query.

  • SCCM 2007 component status critical

Hi, i am using sccm 2007 sp1as a primary site, sql 2005 wit cu4, wsus 3.0, on same server 2008 sp2.   Few days ago i came to know that sccm console is not opening well so i checked the logs and found at sql database is showqing in suspact mode. So i
used some sql alter commands that i have already used for same issues i faced in past. But that query only changed the mode to emergency. Than i googled alot to make the database online but got no result. Then i detached the database and attached it with old
previous backuped database. After server restart sccm console is opening well even the reporting is also working well. There was issue with MP but reinstated MP again and now its also working fine with status code 200. Now the big issue is with the component
status is not getting updated and showing critical. I have tried :-
    Reseting count for errors.
    MP and SUP reinstallation.
Checked sql and dcom permission as sccmadmin have all admin and sysadmin rights.
Given again permission on system management container.
Wsus reinstalled and synced properly with upstream server.
But still component status is not updating. Everything is looking fine but unable to understand what i am left with. Please help.

Again the ONLY support report is to use the CM07 restore procedures. Will everything work after your restore? Who know as there is no way to know what the problem was/is. There
will be gotcha when you restore your CM07 site and they sometime will fix themselves and other times it is just faster to force them to work. As such, I ALWAYS recommend to my clients that if they ever have to restore their CM environment that they contact
CSS directly for support. This way CSS can ensure that the site is healthy and working correctly. There is No way to do that within the forums in any meaningful way.

  • Timezone effects on Date and Timestamp fields in af:query component

    Hello,
I'm working on an ADF application where time zone is configured as follows:
    * Dynamic View Layer time zone is configured in trinidad-config.xml file and bound to a session scoped value:
    <trinidad-config>
      <skin-family>fusionFx</skin-family>
      <time-zone>#{sessionScope.tz}</time-zone>
</trinidad-config>* ADF BC time zone is configured in adf-config.xml file and bound to View Layer time zone:
    <adf-config>
      <user-time-zone-config xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adf/usertimezone/config">
        <user-timezone expression="#{adfFacesContext.timeZone.ID}"/>
      </user-time-zone-config>
</adf-config>The problem here is that Dates and Timestamp values work as expected all over the application except for the af:query component. When displayed as af:inputDate in af:form, Dates and Timestamp values are NOT getting converted to the time zone (TZ) configured in trinidad-config.xml file, whereas TimestampTz and TimestampLtz are. However, when displayed in af:query component, Dates and Timestamp values are automatically converted to View Layer TZ after a search has been performed.
For example, say View Layer TZ = US/Pacific and we enter 01/jun/2011 as a search criteria of type Date and then click on the Search button. The displayed value automatically changes to 25/nov/2011, that is, it gets converted to the WLS JVM time zone, which is set to Europe/London.
Is conversion of Date and Timestamps in af:query component the expected behaviour or could this be a bug?
Is there any way to avoid this conversion?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
Thanks for your reply. This certainly seems promising. However, I am getting a connection error now.

I'm confused. Am I missing the driver, or have I failed to setup the enhanced Oracle adapter?
I have tried moving the jar to $JRUBY_HOME/lib too, but the result was the same.
All help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Bug : Customizing af:query component

    Hi,
I am using jdev 11.1.1.6.0 version. I want to know how i can customize the error messages displayed by an af:query component. Example: suppose i am using advanced search on a field called productId. The search criteria used is 'Between' and if i mention only one value in the text field and the other text field is empty. Error message pops up saying that Attribute ProductId is required. I want to customize this message with my own error message. How can i achieve this ?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Can't get IVI Power Meter error query to work properly.

I have been trying to use the IviPwrMeter Error-Query.vi to read possible errors coming from the Power Meter.  However, I have found that no errors can be detected using this vi.  This is because the returned value 'status' is wired over to the 'error code' input of 'IviPwrMeter Error Converter.vi' and the status value will always be equal to VI_SUCCESS as the attached code signifies.
All of this code was generated by either LabWindows/CVI and/or LabView.
If I wire the error code output of 'IviPwrMeter_error_query' function to the error code input of 'IviPwrMeter IVI error converter.vi', the errors on the Power Meter is at least detected.
Am I doing something wrong here or are there other work arounds?

    Dennis,
I get the same results as you if I don't have a power meter connected.  However, this doesn't supprise me because the session handle is probably checked at a higher level.
The calling hiearchy is as follows (I think, because I don't have all of the code)  IviPwrMeter Error Query.vi -> IviPwrMeter_error_query (IviPwrMeter.dll) ->age4418b_error_query (age4418b.dll).  I would guess that the session is validated in the second layer and not the bottom layer where the actual instrument error query is happening.
Something you may try.  If you have any instrument, write a simple program to get a valid handle then call the error query using the error cluster to link them together.  Set a breakpoint before the error query, run the program, use MAX to send an invalid command and create an error.  Then resume your original program and see if an error is reported in the error cluster after executing the IVI error query.
