Search for object problem in LV 2013

Search does not find objects in lvlib. 13.0.1 and 13.0.1f2, Windows 7.
First try:
Open the search dialog
Select 'Objects' radio button
Select my project as 'Application Instance:"
Click 'Select Object' button and browse to functions/file io/config file VIs/Open Config Data.vi
Search Scope is 'All VIs...'
Uncheck 'Ignore VIs in vi.lib'
Click 'Find'
Results list is empty.
At least one vi with the search target was already open.
Second try:
Open a VI with the above referenced VI
right click 'Open Config Data.vi'
select 'Find all Instances'
Results list shows all instances across several files
Observation:
Using my first search method, the name of the vi is 'Open Config Data.vi'
Using the second search method, the name of the vi is 'NI_LVConfig.lvlibpen Config data.vi' - note full path
Am I doing something wrong with my first search method?

Hello Les__Bartel
Your question: Am I doing something wrong with my first search method?
You could try:
-Open the search dialog
-Select 'Objects' radio button
-Select my project as 'Application Instance:"
-Click 'Select Object' button and browse to objects in vi.lib>>select NI_LVConfig.lvlibpen Config Data.vi
-Search Scope is 'All VIs...'
-Uncheck 'Ignore VIs in vi.lib'
-Click 'Find'
-Results list shows all instances across several files
Same result as your second try.

  • Search for objects in database by name

    Want to search packages, views, table, functions for an object name 'company_search' . What is the query from data dictionary?
    Thanks

    ThanksThere are several data dictionary views you can reference, including
    * DBA/ALL/USER_OBJECTS
    * DBA/ALL/USER_VIEWS
    * DBA/ALL/USER_SOURCE (may contain text internally in the TEXT column)
    * DBA/ALL/USER_ARGUMENTS
    You will have to search the _SOURCE view line by line for packaged procedures and functions.  To search packages you will have to loop through the source lines one by one to search for the text you want
    A query would look something like
    select object_name
      from dba_objects
    where object_name like '%COMPANY_NAME%';Edited by: riedelme on Sep 20, 2012 9:02 AM

  • Search for Objects via Class Hierarchy

    Dear colleagues,
    For searching of an Object via a Class Hierarchy, Program SAPLCLSD screen 1000 release 4.7, a double click is required on the Class (left side of the screen) from which you want to see the Objects. If you do not click double, the view of the related Objects will not be recreated.
    Is it possible to avoid the double clicking?

    Hello Alpesh,
    Thank you for your response. The user asked whether the double click, needed for the show of the objects, related to a Class, can be done with a single click.
    They use transaction CL20N, input Class type, search for material with F4 search by Class input of a Class, then a tree of Classes will be shown. Select a Class, use button 'Include subordinate classes' and, if available, the related object(s) are shown.
    The issue is that when you select another Class, you have to double click on the selected Class to make the screen with Objects empty.
    Can we change the double click easy to a single click?
    Kind regards, Jan van der Veen.  06-22973646 Netherlands.

    Hi Jayzed,
    Thanks for posting. Can I ask how long have you had the handset? Did the problem occur suddenly or did it happen gradually? Have you tried resetting the hub? Is the phone light on the hub lit? Let me know as many details on the problem as possible and we'll take it from there.
    Cheers

  • Search for objects assigned to "My Group" (Higher Duties)

    When searching for Business transactions Assigned to "My Group", when the user is CP Holds (higher duty) the user can only see the transactions assigned to his position like Owner (Business Partner), but not the transactions for the higher duty.
    We're using organization chart with integration with SAP ECC HR. In HR a Higher Duties is when an employee work for a period, in a position, which is not his or her own. This is a position with a higher classification and the employee receives a higher remuneration for this assignment. In CRM the IDOC synchronize correctly the employee in new position with the relationship "Higher Duty" in the organization chart.
    However, for this new assignment in the organization chart, when the user search the document assigned to "My Group", the system only show the document for the normal position and not for the Higher duty position.

    Answer from SAP: Higher duty is not supported by SAP in SAP CRM.
    However is a valid infotype in SAP ECC

  • Search for objects assigned to "My Groups"

    Hi guys
    In CRM 5.0, When searching for Business transactions Assigned to "My Groups", the user can only see the transactions assigned to the same organization units, but not the transactions for the subordinate organizational unit.
    Any idea?
    Regards,
    Lyda

    Hello Lyda,
    Som good information is contained in the 85 page FAQ attachment to SAP Note 882653, "Frequently Asked Questions about Agent Inbox". You might want to have a look at the mentioned BADI...
    "In case you have selected u201CMy Groupsu201D all employees of any group you are part of are taken into account. Your HR model therefore has a significant impact on the outcome of an inbox search. The responsible group displayed is not taken into account for the search!
    If you need another logic here, you may filter the search result using method AFTER_SEARCH of the CRM_IC_INBOX_BADI business add-in on  a project base."

    Does your data structure allow duplicate entries (i.e. is it meaningful if one element is contained twice in there?)
    Does the order of elements in your data structure matter?
    Is your data structure something that maps some key to some value?
    which one of these are most efficient in terms searching timeDoes that matter? Is that part of the assignment?
    And just because:
    class Employee {
      int empId
      String name
      int yearOfJoining
      int departmentNumber
      String toString() {
        String.format("Employee #%d: %s (%d, dept. %d)", empId, name, yearOfJoining, departmentNumber);

      new Employee(empId: 3, name:"Baz", yearOfJoining:1980, departmentNumber: 2),
    println emps
    println emps.findAll({ it.yearOfJoining == 1980 }).size()
    println emps.findAll({ it.yearOfJoining == 1980 && it.departmentNumber == 1}).size()(I always wondered why there is no Collection.count(Closure) in Groovy. .findAll(Closure).size() seems so .... un-groovy)

  • Searching for Nonprinting Objects

    Is it possible to do a search for objects with an attribute set to Nonprinting?
    I have this odd problem:  I work on a magazine, and we insert a little custom endmark image at the end of each story.  For some reason, whenever anyone edits that story in InCopy, the endmark's attributes change to Nonprinting.  I can't figure it out.  But I was wondering if there's an easy way to search on Nonprinting so I can quickly change them back.  Any ideas?
    Thanks, Phyllis

    Haven't tested it yet, so be careful - perhaps do a Save As first
    This might work...shot in the dark
    Take one of the Inline Objects and give it an Object Style.
    Make sure the Object Style is highlighted in the Panel when you have the inline object selected.
    Now go to the Attributes Panel - and untick "Non Printing"
    You will see the Object Style get a + beside it - you can now Redefine that style
    Find and go to the Object tab
    Find Object Format > Anchored Objects Inline
    Change to
    Select the Object Style

    It looks ok, I cannot find strange settings.
    Did you do this check?
    %userprofile%\appdata\Local\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Lync
    enter the sip_<usersipuri> folder
    you will find two files

  • Search Service Application problems after upgrading from Foundation to Enterprise edition of SharePoint 2013

    Hi all. I have been searching for days for a solution to a problem I am having with SP2013 Enterprise edition.
    We recently upgraded from SP2013 Foundation to SP2013 Enterprise. After the upgrade, the search services are no longer working and we are receiving many application log entries indicating the following:
    Application Server Administration job failed for service instance Microsoft.Office.Server.Search.Administration.SearchServiceInstance (ea2019ef-bb9e-4efe-85ee-5d2307406f31).

    as well as:
    Application Server Administration job failed for service instance Microsoft.Office.Server.Search.Administration.SearchServiceInstance (ea2019ef-bb9e-4efe-85ee-5d2307406f31).
    Reason: The object you are trying to create already exists. Try again using a different name.

       at Microsoft.Office.Server.Administration.ApplicationServerJob.ProvisionLocalSharedServiceInstances(Boolean isAdministrationServiceJob)
    I have tried to remove the search service application and recreate it, and even though the SharePoint Central Administration states that it was created successfully, I am still getting the same errors in the log. If I go to the Search Service Application
    Search Administration page, the "System Status" shows the following message:
    The search service is not able to connect to the machine that hosts the administration component. Verify that the administration component '0359af35-0982-4ede-8838-b1d390e915bf' in search application 'Search Service Application' is in a good state and
    try again
    Additionally, under the "Search Application Topology" section, it states "Unable to retrieve topology component health states. This may be because the admin component is not up and running" which I assume is normal if the admin is not
    running.
    Does anyone know how I can resolve this problem?
    Thanks!

    Hi Joaquin,
    According to your description, the error occurred when you re-created the Search Service Application.
    Based on the error message, I recommend to verify the things below:
       1. Check if the association between the Search Service Application proxy and the web application is configured.
    Please go to Central Administration > Application Management > Configured service application associations > Click Default to see if the Search Service application is checked.
       2. Change the app pool for the Search Service Application to SharePoint Web Services Default in the properties of the Search Service Application.
    Please go to Central Administration > Application Management > Manage service applications > Highlight the Search Service Application > Click Properties in the ribbon > Change
    the two app pool to SharePoint Web Services Default: App Pool For Search Admin Web Service and Application Pool for Search Query and Site Settings Web Service.
        3. Run PS command to check if the search admin timer job is enabled: Get-SPTimerJob
    job-application-server-admin-service | fl. If it is not enabled, use PS command to enabled it and then reset Internet Information Services: Enable-SPTimerJob job-application-server-admin-service.
    Best regards.
    Thanks

  • Sharepoint 2013 - Search for link names on a single page

    Hi
    I am messing around with SP13 and trying to get my search result web part to only search for link names and display all results.
    I have created the search source to point at the sub site. If I search for part of a link name it will list all links in one long row as a single result.
    Example: One single page contains all links. Each link points to a .aspx page. The search source is pointing at this page and it can display results but only as a single result containing all links as one line of text.
    Say I have 1000+ links of which 50 has names such as Link1-Item1-Basket1, Link1-Item1-Basket2 up to Link1-Item1-Basket50.
    When I search for Link1-Item1 I would like my search results to display 50 results as 50 individual links.
    Is this possible?

    Hi,
    Yes, you can format the search results as you expected.  But you have to create a custom display template to format your results such as extract the links from each results and display it as separate link.
    Once display template created you have to map the display template to your search results web part.
    Please refer to the following articles.
    SharePoint 2013 Customize Display Template for Content By Search Web
    Part (CSWP) Part-1
    Introduction to SharePoint 2013 Display Templates
    Display Template Overview
    Please mark it answered, if your problem resolved.

    What's quite strange opening https://lyncdiscover.domain.com/?sipuri=sip:[email protected] in normal browser (IE or Firefox) gives me:
    <resource rel="root" href="https://lync1.domain.com/Autodiscover/AutodiscoverService.svc/root?originalDomain=domain.com">
    <link rel="user" href="https://lync1.domain.com/Autodiscover/AutodiscoverService.svc/root/oauth/user?originalDomain=domain.com"/>
    <link rel="xframe" href="https://lync1.domain.com/Autodiscover/XFrame/XFrame.html"/></resource>
    which is correct by the look of it. Lync Connectivity Analyzer for Mobile Lync 2013 Client doesn't indicate any problems apart of inaccessible http://lyncdiscover.domain.com part (it's not redirected - we are using only https traffic):
    [06/11/2014 17:13:21] [SUCCESS] Successfully created the UCWA service

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • My group box is causing problems when searching for a text line in a text file.

    I am developing a booking system, so for this I need to ensure that no two clients can book the same appointment slot. So, on testing my code which prevents double booking, the system doesn't seem to find the text line being searched for in the text file
    when it (purposefully) should.
    I have tried isolating the problem using breakpoints, and I've found that when the 'SearchLine' (referring to my code below) does not include the 'TimeComboBox.text' piece and instead this value is written into the code, the system is able to find the SearchLine
    without any problems. But, when assigning the group box's value to a variable and using this in the SearchLine instead, or without even using a loop and just doing a simple line by line search, the program can't find this line of text in the file.
    I'm lost for ideas. I have tried everything I can think of. Could anyone make any suggestions as for what is the problem with my group box? (I'll explain the code beneath it).
    'Setting the value of the SearchLine (which is a String)
    SearchLine = String.Concat(DateTimePicker1.Value.Date & " " & TimeComboBox.text)
    Dim FoundApp As Boolean
    Dim objReader As New System.IO.StreamReader(basicfilepath & "Text Files\Client Booked Appointment DatesTimes.txt")
    FoundApp = False
    'Reading the file's contents and checking for the SearchLine
    Do While (objReader.Peek() <> -1) or (FoundApp = True)
    If (TextLine = SearchLine) Then
    'Line contains SearchLine. Appointment already exists.
    FoundApp = True
    Else
    'Line doesn't contain SearchLine. Carry on searching.
    Msgbox("Line not found.")
    End if
    Loop
    Explanation
    When the line is searched for, the 'FoundApp' value must be set to 'True' when it is found. If it is not found, it remains false.
    To isolate the problem, I've displayed the SearchLine in a message box in the past to make sure that the correct line of text is being searched for.
    In basic terms, my program is searching for the exact line of text which exists in the text file, but for some reason it is not coming up as 'Found'. The error occurs when the group box's value is used. The text file which is being read is
    definitely correct. Please help, any suggestions would be appreciated.
    Thank you

    Hi
    It would appear that your snippet doesn't actually read the file at all.
    Here is my test which works fine.
    Option Strict On
    Option Infer Off
    Option Explicit On
    Public Class Form1
    Private Sub Form1_Load(sender As Object, e As EventArgs) Handles Me.Load
    Dim SearchLine As String = "18:09:38 : XTaskSettings.Load PARAMS: begin"
    Dim FoundApp As Boolean = False
    Dim TextLine As String = Nothing
    Dim objReader As New IO.StreamReader(Application.StartupPath & "\Data\Report Q1.txt")
    FoundApp = False
    Do While (objReader.Peek() <> -1) Or (FoundApp = True)
    ' this was missing
    TextLine = objReader.ReadLine
    If (TextLine = SearchLine) Then
    'Line contains SearchLine. Appointment already exists.
    FoundApp = True
    MsgBox("Line found.")
    Else
    'Line doesn't contain SearchLine. Carry on searching.
    MsgBox("Line not found.")
    End If
    Loop
    End Sub
    End Class

  • How to configure SharePoint 2010 / 2013 Search for SQL Database Contents and Oracle Database Contents?

    Hi All,
    We are planning to maintain the contents in SQL / Oracle. Could you please suggest anyone which is best for SharePoint 2010 / 2013 Search. How to configure the search for external content source?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Prakash

    This link explains supported and non supported scenarios to use Oracle for BCS
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/sharepoint/en-US/453a3a05-bc50-45d0-8be8-cbb4e7fe7027/oracle-db-as-external-content-type-in-sharepoint-2013
    And here is more on it
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff464424%28office.14%29.aspx
    And here how you can connect Oracle to SharePoint for BCS functionality
    http://lightningtools.com/bcs/business-connectivity-services-in-sharepoint-2013-and-oracle-using-meta-man/
    Overall it seems SQL doenn't require any special arrangement to connect BCS to SharePoint.
