Searching Product Info in OID

I need to be able to search and retrieve either the DN of the Forms application entity or its Logical Application Group subentry from my OID root OracleContext. I am only able to search and retrieve the DN using orcladmin. As I want to put this into code I do not want to use the superuser. I would much rather use another application entity.
I have tried adding my application entity to the iasadmins group, as well as tried to create the ACI's to grant my app entity the ability to retrieve the DN. When I got away from the "insuffient access" error I started getting
ldap_search: DSA is unwilling to perform
ldap_search: additional info: Function Not Implemented
Is this broke? Can anyone else try get something like the following to retrieve the DN without being orcladmin?
ldapsearch -D orclapplicationcommonname=myapp -w mypw -b "cn=Forms,cn=Products,cn=OracleContext" -s sub "orclapplicationcommonname=forms*" dn
The reason I am doing this is because when I create a RAD it leaves off the orclresourceviewers attribute which is what make it possible the Forms Servlet to access the RAD. I don't want to have an admin look in formsweb.cfg, find oid_formsid, and place it in a config file for my code to read, etc. YUK.
Any ideas anyone?
regards,
tt

Hi,
You are seeing the error because the attribute orclApplicationCommon Name is not indexed in the OID Schema.
Oracle Internet Directory uses indexes to make attributes available for searches. If you using an attribute in a Search Filter ( e.g.: orclapplicationcommonname=forms ), you need to index the attribute.
You can use the script $ORACLE_HOME/ldap/catalog.sh to index an attribute.
usage : catalog.sh -connect <connect descriptor> [-add | -delete] [-attr <attribute name> | -file <filename> ]
-connect <DB connect string> specifies the Net8 connect descriptor used to connect to the database.
-add Add catalog Index.
-delete Delete catalog Index.
-attr <attribute name> specifies attribute name.
-file <filename> Filename containing attributes(one per line) which needs to be cataloged.
You can have a look at :
Oracle Internet Directory Administrator's Guide
Appendix A Syntax for LDIF and Command-Line Tools
Atttribute-Management Command-Line Tools
The Catalog Management Tool
for more information about Indexes.

  • Should I load product info into memory or keep in db?

    Hi,
I am going to develop a b2c shopping website with jboss-tomcat bundle. Now I must make a decision on whether I should load product info into memory or just keep it in table. If load into memory, the performance of customer browsing and searching will be good; but I am afraid of the memory capacity and issues like, when I want to update the product price or description, I need to refresh the memory objects. This shop has about 500 products and we will develop this application into Dell server with 1GB memory. Can anyone who has ever developed such e-commerce website give me some suggestions?
    Thanks.

I usally use XSLT enabled servlets using Apache Xalan http://xml.apache.org
Its as easy as caching the result of a transformation for a particular URL request in a generic servlet against the string url and putting htem in a HashMap.
Usual architecture is EJN stateless session beans sending xml to a servlet which styles it and caches the result according to configuration.
Work out cache expiry etc later once you get things going.
To answer your question completely, it would be on the servlet side that I would do the caching.
You may be able to do it using servlet chaining or filters, although I have not tried this but have seen some tutorials about this sort of stuff.
The main concept of page caching is storing the whole html page in memory in the servlet (or in a Java class structure contained in the servlet) and whenever a page request matches a cached entry, just send the cached html straight at the browser, instead of expensively creating a new dynamic page.
Consider implementing gzip encoding as well and storing zipped pages in memory, much faster. Avoid implemrnting stuff that a proxy server would give you out of the box.
I usually try to configure what urls are cached and what are not.
If you are using JSP, I am sure someone has implemented caching of jsp content, a preoduct called Tiles perhaps?

    Hello Malik-Raees,
I am sorry, but to get your issue more exposure I would suggest posting it in the commercial forums since this is a commercial product. You can do this at http://h30499.www3.hp.com/hpeb/ .

  • What's the relationship of Oracle content search products?

I'm puzzled about so many Content Search Products of Oracle, such as UltraSearch,SES(Security Enterprise Search), etc.
    What's the different?
    Thanks.

If you have not already checked it out - try this
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/oses/pdf/ses_ultrasearch_faq.pdf
Mind you for my own requirements I don't see a lot of difference - however since Ultrasearch has been relegated to maintenance only mode product and SES is actively being worked on - the gap in features is likely to grow remarkably over the near future.

It is very important that you post the product name or product number of your notebook and the version of the installed BIOS here in your thread.
    How to identify your notebook.
Remove the battery and look in the compartment where the battery was installed. You should see a printed part number and a product name. Please post one or both of them (with all alphanumeric characters here).
It also helps if you post the country of purchase
I will pass that information to an internal HP contact as soon as you post it to see if we can get that resolved for you.

  • SAP Product info

    Hi,
I am trying to locate the SPS level of all the business packages and TREX available for Portal along with their end of mainstream maintenance. I have gone through the content portfolio section of SDN and also the release strategy and PAM on the market place and also on help portal but didn't find the relevant info. Can someone let me know where can I find it.
    Thanks & Regards
    Mukesh

    Hi Mukesh,
for TREX 7.1/7.0/6.1, OS information is available in PAM and for the release notes u need to rely on the central notes it self (Note 1003900 - TREX 7.1: Central note), I believe there is no consilidated way.
    https://websmp105.sap-ag.de/~form/handler?_APP=00200682500000001303&_EVENT=RELEASE&00200682500000002804=01200615320900001250&00200682500000003818=OS&00200682500000003853=Search%20and%20Classif.%20(TREX)
and for the BP the best place is
    http://sdn.sap.com/contentportfolio -
to get the version info they might not contain the future releases ;(
internal sap might have some consolidated product version info I guess

  • How to make the product-info-textfields tidy?

    Hi there,
I am solving one problem, but it results to several questions (set in bold):
I am about to create a product catalog, based on design createdy by someone else. There are product cells on the page. Each cell contains image & info, as usual. This is one example of the cell:
Have a look how the bottom textfields are build:
It seems to me as one huge mess. The file was prepared by hyper-professional-looking-studio. They used separated textfields for each chunk of information. I expected something more elegant — one or two textfields with precise paragraph spacing and of course with paragraph rules. I would like to ask you: Is this approach considered as industry standard? What if client will ask for increasing the fontsize?…
Do you thing, that it could be caused by some automate typeseting third party program or script like this one? S Publishing
I tried to make it more tidy. So I decided to use as little textfields as possible. But I am clueless now. I want to recast all these tree textfields…
…into one. So I put all the text into one textfield. Each kind of info as a separate paragraph. But I can't force the last paragraph to get upwards:
I tried to increase the number of columns from 1 to 2, I was playing with the Text Frame Options, but no chance to manage it.
So let me please ask another question: could be this paragraph forced to move puwards?
    And last one(s):
If you see the product-cell: Which is, in your opinion, the minimal amount of textfields to fit all this text? I assume, that the „M“ and  S—XXL have to land in separate textfield. Or could all the text be in one textfield?

    If I wasn't using a catalog plug-in...
I would make a page layout with separate text frames (with placeholder text), the size labels and an empty image frame for the product, and select everything and drag the layout into the library panel. I would do that for the basic variations. Then when I added a page, drag the type of library item onto the page and change the text, add the image and move to the next page.
    Mike
Edit to add. You can move the one block of text up using baseline shift. But that much shift makes it difficult to select/edit the text. The screen shot shows a massive amount (65 pts if I recall). The black is actually the selected text that appears above due to baseline shift. In short, your flying blind on editing text unless you use the story editor.

  • Not able to search Product Id replicated from R/3

    Hi All,
Issue Description: Not able to search the Product Id (Material) replicated from R/3 backend system in SRM Shopping Cart Wizard.
The same Product Id(Material) is seen in the transaction "COMMPR01" in SRM.
I checked in the tables COMM_PRODUCT and found the entry with this material.
In R/3 backend system, Basic Unit of Measure is maintained in Purchasing data of the Material. But Order Unit is not maintained.
What surprises me is that if i maintain manually the Order Unit in Purchasing Tab for this material in SRM, then i am able to search this Product Id in the SRM Shopping Cart Wizard screen.
Also, I have performed the replication of DNL_CUST_BASIS3 before replicating the material object.
    We are on SRM 4.00,SAPKIBKS13.
Your inputs will definitely help us in resolving this issue.
    Thanks & Regards
    K Gp

    Hi,
To correct this, the OSS notes 1072160,1102001,1112879,1115992 & 1156748 needs to be applied in SRM EBP system.
After applying the OSS notes, the order unit field will have the same value as that of base unit of measure provided order unit is not maintained for the material in R/3 Backend system.
Also include the authorization object "COM_ASET" in the role that has been created for the RFC user in SRM EBP system.
Kindly let me know if this doesn't works.
    Regards
    K Gp

  • Laptop product info is missing or invalid. Help please.

Upon startup my laptop goes to a black screen and says product information missing or invalid on system board. The following info is missing  System  board (00A)- product name, product serial number, product number.  press enter to continue.  I press enter and it boots up.  What is this message and what do I need to do to  correct it?

This happens when it's sent in to HP for repair and the technician has forgotten to reenter this information. The BIOS chip is missing these things.
Other things that cause this are installing a preprogrammed BIOS chip or a bad BIOS flash.
The only way to fix this is to send it to the nearest HP authorized repair depot where they can enter the missing information.
The utility for this is not available to the general public.
Did you replace the system board ?
