Second help request: nullValueId and nullValueFlag

Question

Hi all,
please someone can explain me what nullValueId and nullValueFlag are meaning ?
I would like to add a null value label to a navigation list , but the above properties doesn't display anything. I need a navigation list where the first item is something like <Select> , item not present in the iterator binded items collection.
How can I do?

First of all thank for you support, Frank.
Sorry but I wasn't able to get your suggestion working, the only solution that I found working is adding a fake option in the view object, something like
select permission_name from acl_permission
union
select '<select>' from dual
this give to my list an extra option ("<select>" ) that I can use as a fake null value.
The "unselected value" property add an option to the navigation choicelist, but when submit the iterator binded to the list return always the first row , not the "unselected value" or its index, or even an exception
So , if I want to cascade some lists to make a composite filter I cannot understand which lists are selected and which not, the iterator always return first value.
The NullValueId, anyway seem doesn't working too, or I didn't understand how to use it.
