Security options in Forms 9i

I am using Forms 9i & Reports 9i
I have a form screen that is calling multiple reports based on the user selection. How can I maintain the security in Forms?(I mean accessing specific reports to specific users & etc)
Please give your suggestions.

Prasad,
first of all you need to wait for Forms 9.0.4 as I am not sure if one of the showstopping bugs was fixed in the Forms9i Patch1.
All you need to do is to register Reports Services and individual Reports in Oracle portal. There is a special reports node on teh administration page in Portal that allows you to perform this registration. A registered report can only be executed by a user who is contained in an ACL, also created in Portal. The usernames should be the names of a single sign-on user and you must run Forms and reports in single sign-on mode. Please see the Reports documentation for more information on how to register it with Portal.

  • No security tab in form options of Adobe designer

Hi, I am new at using Adobe designer in a SAP netweaver environnement.
I have a problem because I cannot set the security options in the designer because I have not got the security tab in the options.
Has this ever happened to any of you ?
I have allready serched the forums but have not found anything related to this issue.
    Thanks in advance,
    Nicolas.

    Hi Nicolas
this is information you need to set on the SAP side of the integrated solution.
In Web Dynpro for Java, one of the properties of the InteractiveForm UI element is 'enabled', which by default is set to 'true', i.e. by default it generates an interactive PDF form.
In transaction SFP in ABAP, the form interface contains a property called 'fillable', which is disabled by default (because the transaction was built with a focus on high-volume printing requirements), and needs to be set in your program if you want to generate an interactive form.
All this is described really well in the documentation, for example, for NW 2004s: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/37/47a2be350c4ac8afe36b691203971f/frameset.htm
Remember, the form generation in SAP happens on the server (ADS), not in Acrobat.
    Hope this helps,
    Markus

  • How to call dicoverer through menu option in forms

    Hi,
Need help.........Can anybody tell me .....how to call dicoverer through menu option in forms.
    Thanx
    Sunil

    Hi,
You can define a Form Function filling the basic information and
HTML call Set as OracleOasis.RunDiscoverer. You can even define Paramters during the form function registration. With this definition you will able to create a link to a Discoverer workbook that will automatically open Discoverer Plus or Viewer to display the workbook using Apps security.
Please refer to the following Metalink Note for more details:

  • Task Scheduler Security Option - Run if user is logged in or not

using Windows Server 208 R2 Terminal Server - Running .NET 4.0 programs
We are running .NET 4.0 Windows Forms programs using Task Scheduler with the Security Option - Run whether user is logged in or not.
When the Task Scheduler starts these jobs they either not not run or they fail.
    Questions:
    1. What shell is used by Task Scheduler with the setting "run whether user is logged in or not" ?
    2. Is there some way to detect this shell or environment in a .NET program?
I am trying to determine if I can modify the .NET programs so they will run in this shell with no errors.
    Thank you
    MisterT99

    Hi Mister,
In addition, Since you need to launch a GUI application through Task Scheduler, so this task also need to run interactively.
However, if the item "Run whether user is logged on or not" is selected, tasks will not run interactively, so we need to select the "Run only when user is logged".
I recommend you can change the item "Change user or group" in security option and add a group, which will make sure your application will run interactively for all users in the group when the users logon.

  • Secure Acrobat online form?

There's a form that I want to offer to people online for them to be able to fill out and send back to me. At least as a short term solution, I do not have the option of setting up a normal online form (html, cgi, etc.), so I want to use pdf files that the users can open in Acrobat Reader. (I'm using Acrobat 9, btw.) Unfortunately, I also need the form info that they type in to be returned to me in a secure fashion.
The problem that I'm running into is that, putting a "Submit" button into the form does not seem to offer a secure option. I know that I have the option to distribute through Acrobat.com, but I'm not actively sending this form to people; I'm making it available to them through my website, and I don't see a way to do that and use Acrobat.com as the return method.
So...is there a way for me to make a pdf form available on my website (using Acrobat 9), that people can then open on their computer, fill out, and send back to me securely?
Thanks very much for anything you know about this.

    Thanks for your reply Liam.
That's fine for a login form.
Working on a form that has 6 secure zone options for 3 currencies with recurring and non-recurring payment option for each currency.
The customer would like to try use Google Analytics ecommerce tracking within the thankyou page but I need the invoice ID/order ID and amount to render on the confirmation page.
When going to the standard webform confirmation page, the invoice number is rendered and so can be picked up, however BC is redirecting to the start page for the secure zone that was selected to allow for payment to be processed the way we need.
I've tried various workarounds, One of which would be to substitute the Entity ID and Case ID for order/invoice numbers for tracking purposes and try to pass the amount in the url as a parameter and direct to a thankyou page where I could use {module_url,amount}, {module_url,CID} and {module_url,EID} however the form process redirecting seems to drop my additional parameter of amount.
I'm running out of ideas so if you have any - would love to hear them

  • In Apex 4.0.1 Security Option Missing Under Manage Services

In Apex 4.0.1, I am trying to edit session timeouts and password policies. The online docs say to login as as an Administrator and navigate to:
    home->administration->manage services-> security
I am unable to see the "security" option anywhere.
Does anyone know how to get to this option?
    Thank you.

Sorry. I just realized that I was logged-in as a "developer" not as the APEX Admin which, of course, is why I couldn't find the "security" option. I had too many windows open at once.

  • WiFi Security Option No Longer There in 1.0.1 Update??

Is the Security Option under the WiFi/Settings no longer there in 1.0.1 Update??
Without it there, it is no longer allowing me to get on 128BIT HEX WEP encrypted WiFi Networks.
    Thanks, Scott K.

No, it is no longer there...
But, I HAVE found a solution...
For a 128BIT HEX password, if you place a 0x before the password, it will then take.
I noticed these two characters before other 128BIT HEX passwords in the Keychain application on my MacBook, and tried it on the iPhone, and it works!!
    Thanks, Scott K.

  • Unable to secure erase: "Security Options" in Disk Utility greyed out.

Ancient eMac running Leopard. I have moved data to new Mac and am ready to erase old computer and sell/give away.
Went to "Erase" tab in Disk Utilities and both the "Volume Format" option and "Security Options" fields/buttons are greyed out and uneditable. According to instructions, to erase the data I need to select "Security Options" to proceed to erase all the data on my hard drive.
How do I "ungrey" that button? Is there a lock somewhere to unlock? Something to disable first?

You cannot erase the hard drive of the eMac when it is in use. You have to insert the Mac OS X install disk, boot up from there and then erase the disk from the Disk Utility software included.

  • How do I open a document sent to me via EchoSign.  Can I disable it as an option for forms sent out?

I created a form in LiveCycle and saved as an PDF.  75% of respondents filled out the PDF, saved it, and returned it as an attachment. The ones returned via EchoSign are ALL BLANK.  Can I disable it as an option for forms I send out?

Correct, you'll need to move it to your itunes library and then sync it to your phone.

  • DV7-2022TX shows 'failure security options' on black screen

My computer starts up and looks like its working but when i go to start using it it's frozen. So I press ctrl+alt+del and then it brings up the message "failure security options" on a black screen and all i can do is a forced shut down. It doesn't do it all the time, but often enough. It also tries to do a system restore itself but that never fixes it.
I hope someone can help me, i'm definitely not a computer expert so it would be greatly appreciated!!
    Thanks

A hard drive if it has failed will sometimes allow you to boot into windows but may not work completely (Eg: In a scenario, where system partition ;where windows is installed works fine but logical partition of hard drive has gone bad).
On certain conditions, if the hard drive is on verge of failure may/may not respond completely. I would suggest you to run a diagnostics using Seagate Seatools which works on any hard drive irrespective of manufacturer to actually confirm if your hard drive has failed.
Also, any hard drive can fail in spite of it been 1yr old or 1day old as its all manufactured in bulk and most of it comes from China

  • Edit a secure interactive PDF form without regenerating form?

I have a client who needs for me to make a minor change to a password-secured interactive PDF form we've created for her. I have the password, of course, but Adobe Acrobate won't let me know enter the password without first saving the form as a copy. This, however, strips all of the interactivity from the form. I don't want to have to redo all of the fields just to make this minor change, and I imagine I'm just missing the obvious method of entering the password.
So, how to I disable the password without wiping out the interactive fields so I can make the change then save the form again with security and interactive form fields intact?

Thanks, Luke. They do. But then when I go to add the password security back to the document, I'm told:
You cannot change security on this document because the document enables extended features in Adobe Reader. You can save a copy without extended Reader features using File -> Save A Copy.
This, of course, takes me back to square one. I need to make the change but keep the same password protection (disabling the ability to edit the file) intact.

  • Secure Zone login form logs user in who isn't registered for it?!

I have a client who runs an eCommerce site through BC.  We have a secure zone setup for his site and he wants to review and approve users before they are given access.  There is good reason for this so please don't bring up counter-points as it is non-negotiable.
Anyway, the secure zone registration form basicly creates a user CRM record and allows them to select a username and password.  I've instructed to client to continue into the CRM and select the checkbox next to the appropriate secure zone in order to authorize the account to login.  As far as we know this has been working until yesterday.  Now, when somebody who has an account but it is not approved yet tries to login, they receive the form error as to be expected.  However they get logged into some phantom secure zone.
I say "phantom" zone because the actual registration form doesn't subscribe them to a secure zone, it's manual (as previously stated).  This is a pretty big issue as a major reason for doing this is that my client doesn't want his prices visible to the public.  Only after the person is in the secure zone are prices visible.  Any help would be much appreciated.  I know BC launched a new update recently which my be a contributing factor....thanks in advance!

    Hi Mike,
This has always been the case.
IF you have a username and password and login to a site you are logged in. You may very well not be part of a securezone but you are logged in. This is why hiding and showing content soley based on the isloggedin module is a very thoughtful process as you can not show content based on this knowledge.
This has nothing to do with the update, you probably only just noticed this behavior but this has been the case since BC born.
