Select option in FM import parameter

Hi,
I want to add ranges in import parameters in FM, for the following fields
u2022     PO Doc Type(EKKO- BSART) in Range
u2022     PO Doc Number(EKKO- EBELN) in Range
u2022     PO Date Range(EKKO-AEDAT) in Range
u2022     Plant(EKPO-WERKS) in Range
u2022     Co Code(EKKO- BUKRS) as mandatory
u2022     Vendor (EKPO-LIFNR)
I know there are some structures defined for some fields by SAP e.g sel_aufnr etc for multiple values but for the given fields it is not there, is there any option to add the ranges without creating explicitly their table types.

Use Passing parameter like
TVARV_T ( Table type )
or TVARV ( Transparant table.)
Using this you can directly pass Ranges ...!

I have a select options parameter in my report and then I have a function module that have to select into a database table using this SO.
How can I pass the SO to the FM?
The code must be something like that:
REPORT ZXXXX.
SELECT-OPTIONS: so_werks FOR marc-werks.
CALL FUNCTION 'ZFUNCTION'
FUNCTION ZFUNCTION
SELECT matnr FROM marc INTO TABLE it
WHERE werks IN so_werks
The select options must be a TABLES parameter? I have to create a structure type for that SO?

In FM interface you can use
structure EFG_RANGES ( In Tables Parameter ) . This structure is same as select options.
Or in Importing parameters use EFG_TAB_RANGES . This is an internal table type .
In both ways you can pass your select option to FM diretcly.

How to Pass Select-options Single values as Parameter value to Method ?

I need to pass select-options values(single values) for s_arbpl to the method "process_percent_planned". Now all single values are in internal table s_arbpl-low field. I need to pass this internal table(s_arbpl-low) values to the method where i will run query based on these single values.In my below code i am passing value through variable w_arbpl. I have defined this parameter in the method.But here only one value is passed to method. I want multiple single values (in s_arbpl-low) should be passed. Please let me know how to correct code.
Tables: crhd.
Data: ktext type auftext,
w_arbpl type arbpl.
select-options: s_arbpl for crhd-arbpl.

How to pass value to select-option parameter using SET PARAMETER Command

Am passing values to selection-screen fields in report RV13A004 ( used in VK11, VK12 and VK13). using below statement but material number is select-option in this report. am able to pass MATERIAL FROM using SET PARAMETER ID, can i know how to pass values MATERIAL TO range in select-options fields using SET PARAMETER Command ??

If you specify this addition, parameters and selection criteria on the selection screen are supplied from an internal table rspar. You must specify an internal table with the row type RSPARAMS for rspar. The structured data type RSPARAMS is defined in the ABAP Dictionary and has the following components, all of which are data type CHAR:
SELNAME (length 8),
KIND (length 1),
SIGN (length 1),
OPTION (length 2),
LOW (length 45),
HIGH (length 45).
To supply parameters and selection criteria for the selection screen with specific values, the lines in the internal table rspar must contain the following values:
SELNAME must contain the name of a parameter or selection criterion for the selection screen in block capitals
KIND must contain the type of selection screen component (P for parameters, S for selection criteria)
SIGN, OPTION, LOW, and HIGH must contain the values specified for the selection table columns that have the same names as the selection criteria; in the case of parameters, the value must be specified in LOW and all other components are ignored.
If the name of a selection criterion is repeated in rspar, this defines a selection table containing several lines and passes it on to the selection criterion. If parameter names occur several times, the last value is passed on to the parameter.
The contents of the parameters or selection tables for the current program can be entered in the table by the function module RS_REFRESH_FROM_SELECTOPTIONS.
Notes
In contrast to selection tables, the data types of the components LOW and HIGH in table rspar are always of type CHAR and are converted to the type of the parameter or selection criterion during transfer, if necessary.
When entering values, you must ensure that these are entered in the internal format of the ABAP values, and not in the output format of the screen display.

How can I define select options fields as import paramter at Function Modules ?

The question is not completely clear to me but if you want to use the value of the select option and use it as an import parameter in a function module then some tips can be:
1. The value of the select option can be singles values or a range. Need to pick up the right values.
2. The import parameter and the variable you want to use must be of the same type.
DATA: tp_id TYPE <data type from the import parameter of the FM TEST>.
tp_id = so_vkorg-low "select option vkorg, you can use so_vkorg-high also for single values
CALL FM 'TEST'
IMPORT
 ID = tp_id
EXPORT
 DESCRIPTION = tp_description.

Freely Programed Help for select-option field

Hi,
how can i set freely programmed help for select option field, i mean while adding selection field what are the parameters that are important for freely programmed help.
i have implemented iwd_value_help in one component comp1 and declared the usage of comp1 in comp2 where i actually defined the usage of select-option component.
i used parameter i_value_help_type = if_wd_value_help_handler=>co_prefix_appldev while adding selection field, however when i presss F4 icon, the following message is coming
View WD_VALUE_HELP does not exist within the component WDR_SELECT_OPTIONS
Please suggest where i am doing wrong??

Please help me to understand your design.
Why would you like to create a Freely programmed value help for select-option?. why not use wdr_select_option directly ?

Select-option value is not getting captured in at selection-screen on value

In Selection screen , we have Select-option and a parameter.
Based on the values given in Select-option, the values of Parameter should get populate.
To achieve this functionality,
I used At selection u2013screen on value request for <parameter> EVENT and 'F4IF_INT_TABLE_VALUE_REQUEST' Function Module.
But the Select-option values are not getting captured in this event,unless u press Enter key.
Is there any other way to achieve this functionality.
Please Guide me.

When you call function 'F4IF_INT_TABLE_VALUE_REQUEST'. make sure you send it the name of the screen variable - the F4IF_INT_TABLE_VALUE_REQUEST function calls DYNP_VALUES_READ itself if you tell it the name of your report, screen number, and the variable name... snippet below.

You can try by changing the layout to grid layout and try to adjust the vgutter and cell design in properties tab of layout data . Try adjusting settings till you find the desired output. Put the colcount in the layout(grid layout) of theproperty tab = 2. This must be enough .

SELECT-OPTION to internal table

Hi,
I need to convert the select-option values into an internal table.
For example, if there is a select-option S_WERKS... i need all the values entered for S_WERKS into the internal table. The internal table structure contains only WERKS.
My actual requirement is, for the given plant values as select-option, i need to fetch all details of the plants. And I should not use any SELECT statements at any stage. Only through function module/ BAPI/BADI/Class methods.
I found one function module T001W_READ, but i need to pass the plant for that.
Please suggest.

Hi Kishore
Why can't you use any SELECTs? If it is so required why not writing your own FM to select them? You can pass your select-option via a generic parameter and assign it to a range at the beginning of your FM. Or you can assign it to a select-option-like table (you can find structure names of similar type from DDIC)
e.g.
TABLES t001w .
RANGES s_werks for t001w-werks .
DATA: BEGIN OF lt_werks ,
 werks LIKE t001w-werks ,
 END OF lt_werks .
s_werks[] = it_werks_so[] .
SELECT werks FROM t001w
 INTO lt_werks
 WHERE werks IN s_werks .

i have lfart(delivery type) field on selction screen defiend as select-option.whenever i click on the multiple selection arrow button besides the lfart field then i n that i have selected "=" as values for opyion field of select-option table(sign,option,low,high).then an icon of "=" is displayed behind the lfart field.
then i have wriiten a qery like this
SELECT lfart,lfdat,.....
INTO TABLE tb_likp
FROM likp
FOR ALL ENTRIES IN tb_get_del1
WHERE vbeln = tb_get_del1-vbeln
AND lfart IN s2_lfart
AND lfdat IN s_lfdat,......
but it is failing(bczo s2_lfart is not initial).then how to write the correct query .

Hi Padma,
remove the = because of this the Select-option is working as parameter and your select-query is looking for the lfart = SAPCE in the DB, which it can't found so it is failing.

I would see following differences:
1. As you have mentioned, many values/ranges can be given in the SELECT-OPTIONS. However, the parameter can hold only one value.
2. In the run time, we see the data w.r.t a select option as an Internal table and Parameter may be accessed as a global variable.
3. Consider following statements:
a. select-options: s_matnr for mara-matnr no-extension no intervals.
b. parameters: P_MATNR like mara-matnr.
Both the statements look same on the selection screen.
consider the SQLs:
select * into corresponding fields of table g_t_mara
from mara
where
matnr in s_matnr.
and
select * into corresponding fields of table g_t_mara
from mara
where
matnr eq p_matnr.
both the SQLs give the same output if the user gives a material number on Selection screen.
If the user does NOT give any input in selection screen, the first SQL will fetch all data from DB, whereas the SQL with the PARAMETER will fail.
So I think we should keep in mind the requirement and code accordingly.

I want to validate plant and material on selection screen. More over I need to validate the combination of that also (i.e plant based materials). Individually I made the validations, but combination I didnt get it.
For your information both are select-options, please reply me if you have an idea. The table to get the relationship is KEKO. I have the below code for parameters, but I require code for select options.
SELECT MATNR WERKS FROM KEKO UP TO 1 ROWS
INTO (KEKO-MATNR, KEKO-WERKS)
WHERE MATNR = P_MATNR AND
WERKS = P_WERKS.

Raghu,
You can't validate on select-options, MARC will have N to 1 relation between Material and plant.
You can do one thing, keep material as select-option and plant as parameter, now you can validate the materials on plant level.

What I do is as following....
I create two parameters...One for START and the other for END....Then, inside my FM I create a RANGE...
DATA: BEGIN OF r_datum OCCURS 1,
 sign(1),
 option(2),
 low TYPE vekp-vhilm,
 high TYPE vekp-vhilm,
 END OF r_datum.
Passing the START to low and END to high....
