Select printer when driving PS via COM

Hi there,
I am writing an application that drives PS CS2 externally via COM
(under Windows XP of course).
I can successfully control PS (run actions, load, perform
transforms, save, print and so on...)
all without user interaction. I must say that the interface
is quite powerful. However, I want some control
over which printer a file is sent to.
Specifically, I want to load a file and print it to one
of 3 available printers (depending on an attribute known to
my application) without prompting the user.
I can change the System default printer and then
broadcast a WM_WININICHANGE (via SendMessage), but of
course once PS has printed the first time (using
the System default), it simply sticks with the current printer.
It ignores changes to the system default. That probably makes sense.
One way around this is to set the system default printer, and then
restart PS. But thats **awfully** time consuming, especially on
the scale I am looking at.
Is there a better way?

Network Printer Troubleshooting
Ping printer: If you have the printers IP address open Terminal (Applications/Utilities) and at the prompt type: ping {printerIP}. You will get a reply or failure.
If you haven't done so already, try resetting the printing system.

Select printer when printing purchase order

Hello,
we are using a customized sapscript and the standard SAP print program SAPFM06P to print out our purchase orders .
When doing the print out of ME22n, we can select the printer in logical destination field. But if we select LOCL, we can not select the actual windows printer, it will just take the default.
In know in other transaction, I am able to select the windows printer too when selecting LOCL.
Is there a way to do that with purchase orders as well?

Hi,
In your print program you must be passing an script output parameter structure (SAPscript output interface). means check in OPEN_FORM fm, the parameter OPTIONS.

IPhoto 08 vsn 7.1.5 software issue. Can't print a photo. When I select print it comes up with the error message "No available themes" There were no themes located. Until at least one theme has been installed, this feature will be unavailable. ugh

YOu need to reinstall iPhoto.
To re-install iPhoto
1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
2a: On 10.5: Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.
2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows: In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type
/var/db/receipts/
2c: on 10.7 or later they're at
/private/var/db/receipts
A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.
3. Re-install.
If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.
If you purchased it on the App Store or have a Recent Mac you can find it in your Purchases List.

I am trying to print from my iphone to my LEXMARK printer. When I select the select printer option when trying to set it up, it does not find my printer??? i dont know what to do at this point. Maybe it does not have the capability? it is a year old???

No - I got the iMac 27 because it was calibrated at the factory(?) and was highly recommended by friends and photographers. No complaints at all, but this printer issue is driving me crazy. I was thinking that if I upgraded to an epson pro printer ICC profile will be on there website. I can't find any for the 835. By the way I didn't calibrate the old dell monitor either and I have had several photos published with no problem at all. Just a note, on epson website there are no printer stating they will run with 10.10 Yosemite. I was looking at the R2000 series. Right now I editing photos that I have to have ready by Jan, maybe by then epson will have something ready.

The only options I can find are "default" and "Last printer used" which means I must go into the Print & Fax area and change the default EACH time I want to print??? Seems very low tech.....

In most cases you get this dialog box every time you print. It is called the print dialog and normally when you print, a print dialog appear showing the printer that is to be used. Which printer you see will be based on what you have set in Print & Fax as you mention. But regardless of what you have set there, you still have the option to change the printer via the print dialog.
If you are using an application that does not show the print dialog, like MS Word and that stupid "print one copy" print icon in the toolbar, then you can often change the action the print icon uses so that the print dialog appears.

You can style a table to remove grid lines and only show an "outline" around the table itself.

Quit Safari.
Open the Library folder in your home folder as follows:
☞ If running Mac OS X 10.7 or later, hold down the option key and select Go ▹ Library from the Finder menu bar.
☞ If running an older version of Mac OS X, select Go ▹ Go to Folder… from the Finder menu bar and enter “~/Library” (without the quotes) in the text box that opens.
Delete the following items from the Library folder:
Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db
Preferences/com.apple.quicktime.plugin.preferences.plist
Preferences/QuickTime Preferences
Relaunch Safari and test.

Also, when im viewing websites and i find something i wish to print, same again, if i simply click on the print option at the top right of the screen nothing happens... the only way I can print is if i copy the weblink of the site page then click on my HP eprint app and paste the web link, then select print, it prints off fine.. but its it such a pain to keep copying and pasting links or screen dumping emails just to print...

Just to recap, this is a collection of ports I have collected over time for people who needed this information when setting up the HP ePrint app so that they could view their email from within the app. I am certain other applications also need this information. Although lengthy, I could not find a more comprehensive place to retrieve this information. Feel free to post additional information, faulty information, or other related topics below as this is simply a collection of data and it would be practically impossible to test all of them. The problem is with the new operating system and sending photo via email when used in my iPad. From photo I selected 3 photos to send via email. I choose the upload key and choose to send by email. Typing text on the email is very slow.

Can you amend he system to allow emails to be sent from photo as previously.

Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPad?
Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after the iPad shuts down, then press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds). Ignore the "Slide to power off"

DO NOT USE PREVIEW TO FILL OUT PDF FORMS, IT WILL DESTROY PDF FILES. Sorry, but I had to shout here to prevent damage to your PDF files.
Here is one of the symptoms when you fill out a PDF form with Preview: If you save it and return it to the author, they will not be able to see the text that you've added to form fields - unless they click on a field, which will reveal the contents of just that field. You can recover from this problem, but Preview will also remove other field types, and will actually rewrite your complete PDF while ignoring what it does not understand. HELP!! Canon Pixma MG2220 has no response when I select print or try a test page

I recently bought a Canon Pixma MG2220 printer for my home. When I installed the software and hooked it up to my laptop (toshiba with windows 7) and selected 'print' to try it out, nothing happens. The display just keeps flashing oddly like in a circle and nothing prints. When i tried a test print to diagnose the problem, nothing also. I tried several times yesterday and when I turned the printer on today it spit out the test page from yesterday. Am I missing something? I don't really know much about printers or drivers... Is it something simple that I keep overlooking?

The spinning symbol you see is the printer processing your data from the computer. Since it is taking a long time to print a test page, we could be dealing with a communication issue. Have you tried a different USB cable? A shorter good quality cable around 4 feet is ideal. Also, try connecting the printer to different USB ports on your computer to see if that helps.
Finally, to ensure that the hardware is functioning properly, make a basic black and white copy with your PIXMA MG2220. Keep an eye out for the spinning symbol again. A normal copy should only take a few minutes to process.
