Select Set of Book in Incentive Compensation Responsibility

Hi there,
I'm new to setting set of books, and I'd appreciate if you could give me some help on selecting it out of General Ledger. I'm using Oracle EBS R12. I've setup a new ledger with a new operating unit. I want to use it in another responsibility - Incentive Compenation. How can I link this new operating unit to the application?
From within Incentive Comp, the periods are null, and business area are empty. Where should I set these to the new OU?
Thanks!

Hi Nagamohan,
Both the menu and submenu look fine. I also created a global security profile including the new Operating Unit and assigned it to the user. But still the Business Area was empty. The error there after all the setting was:
Either the MO:Security profile is not set or the MO:Security profile does not contain any Operating Units.
But actually that new security profile was set and it contained the new OU. I don't see anywhere I missed. Thanks for your input.
Regards,
Michelle

  • Default set of books driven from the responsibility?

    Hi all,
when users logs into financials, they can see certain sets of books depending on the responsibilities assigned to them. Is that assumption correct?
If so, is there a way of retrieving that infrormation? (List of sets of books per responsibility)
    Thanks,
    g.

This is a query about the business logic of Oracle Financials, innit. As we tend to be technicians here you might be better off asking the question in the appropriate forum, which is probably Financial Services under the E-Business Suite grouping.

  • How to use two sets of books with one responsibility

Does anyone know if it is possible to run reports in the General Ledger business area of the Oracle EUL against two or more sets of books with the same responsibility? For example, I want a regional finance manager to be able to run a Discoverer GL report for both Bolivia and Peru using their South America GL Manager responsibility. It looks like you can do that for AR using HR security profiles but I'm not sure how to do it for GL. Thanks.
    Greg

    Hi,
There are two types of security: business areas security which allows a user to access the folders in a BA and is controlled through Discoverer; and data security which filters the data returned in the report. The data security is usually implemented as a condition in the views mapped in the EUL, though it can be implemented as mandatory conditions in the EUL. The data security is controlled by Application system profiles.
In your case you will have conditions in the database views which only returning data for the set of books defined in the profile for the current responsibility. To bypass this security so that a responsibility can report on multiple sets of books you need to create new folders in the EUL that map onto database view or tables that do not have the data security.

  • FDM Drill to EBS gets wrong Set of Books

    Hi,
We just installed Planning, FDM, ERPI, and ODI. I am testing the drill through from FDM to Oracle EBS. I start in FDM and click on Open Source System. That takes me to ERPI where I click on the amount. Oracle EBS launches in and asks for my User ID and Password. I fill them in and the Account Analysis and Drilldown workflow page is displayed. The set of books is already filled in, but is incorrect and can not be changed.
Since I didn't have to pick an Oracle EBS Responsibility it must be passed from ERPI. The set of books related to the source system for the FDM application I am in is 1 but the set of books displayed is 21. Where do I look to find out why the set of books and/or EBS Responsibility is not being passed correcly from ERPI to Oracle EBS?
    Thanks,
    Glen

    Hello,
I did have the same problem. Don't set default values. Then try to compile again. If you still have a problem I would suggest to look at the sequence of the segments, it should be 1,2,3. Also maybe your flex value sets for those segments are not set correctly.
First I would try without the default values.
    I hope it helps.

  • Revenue classes, classification rules in incentive compensation

    Hi all,
Iam new to incentive compensation , can any one explain about revenue classes and classification rules and their role in calculating commission .
I want to know about how siblings are useful and about input and output expression .
    Thank you,
    Sandeep Reddy

    Hello Danielle,
Dont get so frustrated. Cheer up...
    Slight modification to your setup.
Define Joe's Pizza Shop as Revenue class and also in the hierarchy.
Capture these fields in the rule set.
    158785 - child value
    252155 - child value.
I guess you are pulling your orders into CN_COMMSSION_HEADERS_ALL table.
Go to tables>> and search for this table and click on columns and from the top dropdown select "classification"
and then 'enable that columns, put a user name as 'Location' or some thing which contains this above values.
so that you can see that columns 'Location when you define your ruleset. and feed these above 2 values so that the transactions can be captured/classified on the basis of above 2 values for calculation.
    Cheers,
    A.P.

  • BI with Oracle Apps, SET OF BOOKS

I am new to BI with Oracle Apps.
3 different companies are using same Oracle Apps system.
In BI workbooks how do I make sure correct SET OF BOOKS is selected for all the workbooks.
Currently Receipts Analysis workbook allows users to select organizations from all 3 companies.
Looks like I have missed some big configuration / security setting.
    Thanks in advance help

    Hi,
I don't think the Receipts Analysis workbook has any set of books security built in as standard. What folder/view is the workbook using?
If you are using a GL responsibility you can include selection of your set of books by importing the gl_security_pkg.login_sob_id function in the the Discoverer EUL and then adding a condition that selects the sob id using the sob id returned by the function.
    Hope that helps,

  • Financial Analytics - limiting load to specific set of books

    Hi all,
we are running POC for Financial Analytics BI Apps 7.9.6 and we are limiting load into OBAW tables to specific set of books from source EBS (using SET_OF_BOOKS_ID_LIST and $$FILTER_BY_SET_OF_BOOKS_ID DAC parameters) - I was a litlle bit digging in Informatica mappings definition and suprisingly found, that those parameters are just used for load of some fact tables (e.g. W_GL_BALANCE_F etc... ), but is not used to load corresponding dimension tables - like W_LEDGER_D or W_GL_ACCOUNT_D or W_GL_GROUP_ACCOUNT_D - which I would expect to be filtered by specified set of books as well - does anybody know, what tables are filtered by those parameters and what is the reason for not restricting all corresponding tables ?
Thanks very much for your responses
    Michal Zima

    Hi Michal,
I think you're saying that you noticed that the mappings/mapplets that load some of the tables (W_GL_ACCOUNT_D or W_GL_BALANCE_F, etc) are not using any logic to filter by your "set of books id list."
Have you checked the mappings that load the staging and temp tables?
    For example: W_GL_BALANCE_F_TMP, W_GL_BALANCE_FS
The reason you're not seeing the "set of books id list" might be that the logic was applied to one of the staging or temp tables (a source for the _f table). Thus it would be redundant to re-apply this logic.
    For example:
Notice that SIL_GLBalanceFact uses W_GL_BALANCE_FS as a source table (and loads the W_GL_BALANCE_F table).
But, SDE_ORA_GLBalanceFact is the mapping that loads the W_GL_BALANCE_FS table. The logic for "set of books id list" is included in this mapping (or actually, mapplet).
    Hope this helps!
    Thanks,
    Austin

  • How to multiple/ parellal sets of books to generate more than one financial statement based on different (or the same) accounting principles.

How to multiple/ parallel sets of books to generate more than one financial statement based on different (or the same) accounting principles.
My Client needs Parallel Ledger in SAP B1 similar like SAP ECC. Is this functionality available ?

    Dear Mr. Nagrajan,
Thank you for your response. I have already gone through documents but not able to understand. Is there any setup for this ? or its just work around i.e. using template and special field in JV i.e. Ref. 1 /2
    My doubts :
I understand that Chart of Account structure is one and common for IFRS and other accounting method. We need to create only those account separately ( 2 times with prefix like IFRS revenue account, GAAP Revenue account).
Now at time of entry, Assume some entries / adjustment are specifically for IFRS and not for other ledger. In this case, What need to do ?
You have mentioned about DTW approach but do we need to insert all JV's again with other ledger ?
Someone suggested that if any entry which are specific to IFRS Ledger, We need to user Ref.1 /2 column or Transcation code column and in which we can put IFRS
Based on this, Need to create 2 seperate template for IFRS and other ledger for all report.
This is my understanding of Solution in SAP B1. Please help me to clarify my though process
Please do needful. If you have done implemenation and if you can share doucment, it would be great help.

  • When should I attach my own SET OF BOOKS

    Hello All,
I tried attaching my set of books at purchasing immediately after creating set of books, business group, operating unit.It was done successfully.
But when I wanted to create a new requisition I was getting numerous errors
    like
    1)APP-PO-14142:get_po_paramerters-10;ORA-01403.
    2)Some exception was raised 100501
    3)ORA:01403-no data found
Now I would like to know do I have to complete all the setups like defining purchasing options, receiving options, requisition templates, etc before I use my own set of books.
    Eraly replies are appreciated.

It sounds like you're missing some setups.
You may want to verify you have the correct MO: Operating Unit profile set for your given responsibility and ensure that the Financial Options have been set up as well.
    Just some thoughts to check.
    Please check if all the
    1. financial options
    2. purchasing options
    3. receiving options for all inventory organizations
    are set up.
If this is a new operating unit, did you set all the profile options for a newly created responsibility prior to setup? Each operating unit will need its own responsibility.
You might want to check the data in FINANCIALS_SYSTEM_PARAMS_ALL and ensure that your record for this particular operating unit (org_id) looks okay.
Are you using a single business group or do multiple exist?
I'm not sure if you are aware, but some common profile options that should be set at the responsibility level (sysadmin/profile/system -- for a particular responsibility) in a multi-org environment are:
    MO: Operating Unit
    GL Set of Books Name
    HR: Security Profile
    HR:Business Group
    HR:User Type
There are others, but these are some that can be very detrimental if they are not defined prior to setups.
Also, I'm assuming that all other setups have been performed (Purchasing Options, Chosen set of books, locations exist for the default inventory org , etc?
Incase if still struggling, let me know.

  • Set listbox items from web service response

    Hi All
I am trying to set list box items from a web service response. Couple of issues over here:
    1. The user should be able to select multiple items from the list. Hence if I set "Allow multiple values" and set Commit on "exit", then after the web service returns the output, no data is displayed in the listbox. I need to click inside the list box to see the data returned by the web service. How to overcome this..??  ( However this problem (clicking inside the listbox to see the items) does not exist if "Allow multiple values" is unchecked and Commit is set on "Select". )
    2. After the list box is filled up, certain default values should be selected. This selection is based on one of the response field (which is actually a table with multiple values... ). Hence, how to capture this response field and set the default values in the above list..??
    3. The same case for a dropdown. The values are visible in dropdown. However, a default value should be selected and displayed after returning a response from web service. Again, this default value is dependant on another field in the response as in point no.2
I am trying to use postExecute event as described in [this|http://forms.stefcameron.com/2009/03/23/pre-process-web-service-responses/] link...however not able to achieve the functionality. Please provide suggestions / inputs.
    Thanks
    Deepak

    Hello,
first: I don´t know anything about the right solution. I am unaware of the existence of the solution, because there were quite many of question about this multiple selection problem and I don´t remember a single "answer".
I can recommend you to simplify everything and create the functionality yourself. I have done that before to avoid these "Adobe-standard" problems. If you have a problem with autofill of the object, ask your WS to send you a single string and pass it yourself using scripting (JS).
And if you have problems with multiple selection, create your own field/ object. Get the string of values, parse it, create multiple lines of the dynamic table with some suitable tool to check/ select the rows you need (use checkbox for example, and your text as a table row). This way you can selected anything you want with no problems at all. It wil only cost you some extra work.

  • Revenue reorganization in Country specific set of book

    Hi,
We have two set of books setup in our environment, Management book and China Legal Book. Management Book is the operating book.
When there is a prepayment for revenue collection, in management set of book we only recognized the advance billing for the prepayment, where for China Legal book we need to recognize as full revenueincluding tax.
Any FI/CO experts can help to advise how to handle this scenario.
    Thank you.

    Hi Josef
    1. Country G/L account number in the sense a G/L account which is created under the country COA
    2. At the end of the day, Country COA creation is the same as any COA. So, the G/L accounts that you create under a country COA are created in the same way as for a normal COA. If you use FS00 to create an operational COA G/L account say 123, you use the same transaction code to create Country COA G/L account say 456 (In the COA field, you select your country COA instead of operational COA). Once both 123 and 456 are created, you go into G/L account 123, and assign 456 in the alternative account number field in the control data tab. This is how you link G/L accounts under both COA's.
    3. The purpose of having 2 different COA's is to report your Financial statements in 2 different formats. In a client, it is prefered that we have a single operational COA for all the company codes so that other aspects like Controlling area do not pose any design concerns. In such a case, you have country COA assigned to each company code as well so that you can report as per the country requirements.
