Selector closing all sockets if one found closed by client

Hi,
I have a selector monitoring 8 sockets.
One socket is closed by client.
Selector closes the same socket from its side and then it gets IOException on all other socketChannel's read method, it eventually closes all socketChannels.
Can somebody give me solution which will close only those channels which are closed by client

Selectors don't do this, it must be your code. Show us.

  • Closing all applications with one keystroke

    Hi
    There must be a trick but it has been 3 weeks I had my Imac and still have not found it
    How can I CLOSE ALL running application with one keystroke ? also how can I close the finder ... its always running and I am not sure it should.
    Up to know I love the Imac and wander how I survived on a pc for 20 years.
    Antoine

    The Finder is necessary to allow you to navigate your computer: it always runs and if you force-quit it it will immediately relaunch.
    Even if you shut down your computer normally any application with unsaved work will ask for a confirmation. You should not force a shutdown: you can damage your disk Directory by doing this and doing it repeatedly could run you into serious problems. You should only do this in the rare even that the computer locks up completely.
    It's possible to write an AppleScript which will quit all applications (though you will still be asked for confimation where applicable) but it gets a bit complicated because there are running processes which you don't want to quit, and as you're new to all this I'm reluctant to recommend this as a way to go. Otherwise there is no global method.

  • I use private browsing and passowords not remembered. yet after closing all firefox windows, i can access facebook and hotmail w/o my login info being requested

    it used to ask me for them when i re-opened a window after closing all the previous ones!

    Are you automatically reopening windows from the previous session via session restore?
    *Tools > Options > General > Startup: "When Firefox Starts": "Show my windows and tabs from last time"
    You can set the <b>browser.sessionstore.privacy_level</b> pref to 2 (never) or 1 (non-HTTPS) on the <b>about:config</b> page to disable saving cookies via session restore.
    The browser.sessionstore.privacy_level_deferred pref is used when you do not reopen the previous session automatically via "Show my windows and tabs from last time" and uses the same values

  • Closing All Open Windows in One Go

    Is there a way to close all windows in one go? Also is it possible to select various windows in the dock and just close them in one go, than going to each one and closing it manually?

    Also, to close certain window selectively, type Command-` to rotate windows and Command-w to close them. It's probably quicker than what you're doing.

    Why does closing all open windows (15) and leaving only one drop ram usage by only 100mb from 1.5 to 1.4Gb.
    What is in this 1.4 gb ?
    I don't care much about ram, It's just that cpu usage spike like crazy by the end.

    Hi musicfan,<br />Sorry you are having problems with Firefox. Maybe you should have asked earlier and we could have fixed it.
    Reading your comments I do not see that rolling back to an insecure Firefox 22 will actually help you much. You are probably best using IE, unless you have also damaged that.
    *[[Export bookmarks to Internet Explorer]]
    You should not use old versions they are insecure. Security fixes are publicised and exploitable.
    * [[Install an older version of Firefox]]

    Most others will not be having such problems. We are now able to say that with confidence because after developers missed a regression in Firefox 4 telemetry was introduced so that data was obtained. It may be an idea to turn on your telemetry, if you have not already done so, and decide to stick with Firefox.

  • Sometimes I just want to close ONLY one window, but Firefox is closing ALL TABS, and I don't want this!

    I sometimes will open several windows, especially from my Comcast mailbox. When I am through with that window, I will close it, but leave the other ones open. FIrefox won't do this any more, When I close 1 window, Firefox send me a message stating that it is CLOSING ALL TABS. I DONT WANT TO CLOSE all of them, I just want to close the window I am closing!. This is very annoying, because I have to re-log back into everything, because FIrefox is "CLOSING ALL TABS", and all I want to to close ONE window...I am about ready to chuck this browser....I tried to find an answer to this in tools, but was unable to do so. Please help me with this

    Use CTRL+W - to close the surrent tab.

  • Closing all folders and subfolders within a window with one command

    In list view, is there a way to close all folders and subfolders within a window with one command, instead of having to close each individually?
    Thanks!

    Thanks, all, for your feedback, but no cigar, yet:
    - opening folders with "option" is possible but problematic
    - none of this solves the question of closing all the folders and subfolders within a window in one shot.
    Any better solution would be appreciated.
    Thanks!

  • How can I stop from closing all tabs...it says close 2 tabs...I don't want to close all tabs maybe just one

    How can I stop from closing all tabs. When it says do you want to close 2 tabs...what if I only want to close one?

    My workaround for this is to set up a smart playlist. I hope this is another one of the issues that gets cleard up when Apple eventually releases an 11.1.1 update.

  • Occasionally, when I try to do a Google search, numerous "opening search" pop-up windows appear. I cannot continue typing in my search until I've closed all of these pop-up windows. How do I stop them from EVER popping up again?!

    They are small pop-up windows. When I start entering in keywords to search, ever so often, these things pop-up and not just one. Many of them. Popping one upon another upon another upon another. I cannot enter anything new into the Google search box until I have closed all of these windows. And, commonly, numerous ones of them will pop up again when I enter in the next letter in my search.
    This is what it says in the pop-up box:
    Along the top it says in the light blue margin "Opening search"
    Under the above and in a white box it says:
    "You have chosen to open
    [a Windows symbol] search
    which is a: application/json
    from: https//www.google.com
    Then on the outline of an inner box, it reads "What should Firefox do with this file?" and it gives the following options:
    Open with ["Browse" button]
    DownThemAll!
    Save File [This one is checked as the default]
    Then a check-off box with the text next to it: "Do this automatically for files like this from now on.
    Under that is an "OK" button that is gray and cannot be checked and a "Cancel" button that can be. I have never done either but used the "X" in the upper right corner of the box to close out this window.
    Now I see I have limited options for "This happened" for frequency. It isn't every time Firefox is opened but it is FAR more frequent than "A few times a week". More like several times a day.

  • How the client to detect  the server has closed the socket?

    if the server closed the socket by an unnormal way, for example, closing the socket compulsively. Then the client will show the "IOException:java.net.SocketException: Connection reset" message,
    how the client to avoid such an error message to the user/customer, I mean , what the client can deal with such a message?
    where to put the dealing code?
    try{ int receivedLength=in.read(receivedBytes);
    }catch(SocketException e){
    // put the code here? }
    catch(IOException e){
    }

    Do you know how to prove it---"a socket read should
    always always always have a timeout";As ejp said (IMHO ...) it's his opinion and doesn't need proof. I respect his opinion, but I often write code that doesn't set this.
    Instead I use 2 threads per connection, and don't care if the read thread goes to sleep, since I can still write. If you only have one thread per connection, you better ensure that the read will end in a relatively short amount of time, even if your partner decides it's time to go for lunch.
    how the length of this timeout will be? That is a business decision, it all depends on the expected time between received messages and is application dependent.
    is it a field of the socket?If you are using blocking mode sockets you set this with setSoTimeout. If you are using non blocking mode NIO you specify it on the select call, although the soTimeout should also work there, although I've never tried that.

  • IPad slow despite closing all Apps and rebooting.

    Original iPad 64GB 3G running iOS 5.0.1 is noticeably slow. Even after closing all Apps and rebooting, my machine runs slow. I tried draining the battery and still no improvement. Am I to conclude that iOS 5 combined with regularly updating my Apps rendered the processor obsolete?

    As the result of months of web surfing and testing, I could narrow down the issue at is causing performance on all our original iPads! One would say to turn all the iCloud features off, but I have found that there are major performance bugs in contacts and calendars! Turn them off in the iCloud part if the settings. This, alone with disabling spotlight search results in no keyboard lag and no "checkerboard effect" in safari whe pages won't load fast enough! I hope this helps everyone as it did to me!

  • Closed all firefox windows by clicking the x 'cancel', then 'close tabs'. After reboot, couldn't recover open tabs, (options were not highlighted under History , i.e. Recently Closed Tabs or Recently Closed Windows). Why couldn't I recover my tabs?

    When rebooting mac, I closed all firefox windows by clicking the cancel "x" and then clicked "close tabs". After rebooting I could not recover my open tabs, as none of the options were highlighted under History , i.e. Recently Closed Tabs or Recently Closed Windows.

  • [S] Firefox hangs on KDE install after all windows and tabs are closed

    When I launch Firefox from KDE, the process hangs around consuming ~70-100% CPU of at least one core after closing all windows and tabs. We have to kill the process manually or say File->Quit and issue the real exit command instead of just closing all tabs. I ran strace and found that Firefox is poll()ing something as fast as it can after all windows are destroyed, causing the CPU increase. Anyone know how I can fix this? I've already tried a different profile and pacman -Rnd to no effect.

    I've solved this by removing gtk-qt-engine; without gtk-qt-engine, firefox behaves as expected.
