Self Extracting Archives not working?

I downloaded a file that comes as a .sea (self extracting archive). Rumor has it I'm supposed to double click it to extract, but when I do, OS X asks me what program I want to use. The exact same file just opens on my friend's machine running Tiger, but not mine?
Questions:
1. Shouldn't it just open it? I thought that was the point... Anything I need to setup ot make it work?
2. In my efforts to solve it, I picked "Stuffit Expander" when it asked me what App to use to open the .sea. How can I un-register .sea with Stuffit so that, in case Tiget does decide to finally open the file, it isn't being sent to Stuffit?

Very weird how they created that file.
When I double click on HPA3.sea, the OS asks what I want to open it with. Meaning that the file has no extension (visible or hidden) and no type/creator tags. So the OS has no idea what to do with it.
So I launched Stuffit Deluxe and chose it through the Open command. It then says, "The archive you are opening cannot be browsed. Would you like to expand it instead?". I choose yes, and it creates a file named "HPA3.1.sea", which still has no icon, but behaves like an application when I double click it. It then goes on to install some Photoshop actions.
So if you drop it on the Stuffit Expander, you should be getting another similarly named file. Either in the same location as the original, or in the folder where the Expander sits. If you're not getting it in either location, then try downloading the latest Expander from Allume's site. The Expander is free.

Based on your description and this error message, this issue may be caused by:
The Default Web Site is not running and/or has a site binding for SSL (HTTPS).
The Selfupdate virtual directory has the "Require SSL" checked under the SSL settings.

Triger extract is not working for USERDETAILS object.

Dear MI experts,
I am doing custom client integration. In that we have faced a problem.
Trigger extract is not working for USERDETAILS object in SWCV SAP BASIS 7.10.
1. I have assign the SWCV SAP BASIS 7.10, user define SWCV to device.
2. I have checked the SMQR all queues(extract queues) are in register mode.
But if I delete the users and reassign the same user, then it is sending deletes and insert to the outbound queue.
please help to resolve the issue.

Actually as soon as the device is registered, automatically the USERDETAILS and USER_AUTHORIZATION Objects should
go to the Outbound queue from the pending extract
I have tried what you have suggested.
1.I have taken device which is in initial state and I have assigned the 'user' and 'user define SWCV'.
2.I have register the devices with my custom client. After that also SWCV SAP BASICS 7.10 not become operational and automatic extract not happend for USERDETAILS.
my doubt is, any thing i need to send from client to make SWCV SAP BASICS 7.10 operational?
(or) is it problem with system?

Office 2013 Auto Archiving not working

Dear Sir / Madam,
We are using MS OFFICE 2013 with Windows 8.
Problem we face is Auto Archiving not working at all. We have defined all the parameters, still it is not working. We are using Exchange Server and all the emails are Archived to local PST files after a defined time period.
We have defined all the steps required to do Auto Archiving.
Your help is required in this since we have tried all the options.

What's the size or your archive.pst file? Please first make sure it's not getting close to 50 GB limit.
If the size far below 50 GB, please try to use the Inbox Repair tool to scan and repair the archive.pst file. If the file is corrupt, the autoarchive will not happen.

Linux JDK 1.5.0_06 self-extracting archive doesn't work

Hi,
I downloaded jdk-1_5_0_06-linux-i586.bin and followed the instructions to install it, but nothing happens. That is, I execute:
./jdk-1_5_0_06-linux-i586.bin
and nothing happens. No error messages, no output of any kind. I do have execute permissions on the file, so that's not the problem.
I'm sure this is a problem with the (mis) configured lab machine I'm working on, but I don't really feel like trying to find what is going wrong.
Does anyone have a zip, tar, ANYTHING of the directory structure that is supposed to result from the execution of this self-extracting file, which doesn't work for me? I googled everything I could think of but found nothing. Any help is appreciated.

I only used the getSystemResource because it is slightly more convenient. The
getResource version requires a "/" in front of the filename, as in:

Unfortunately, this still deadlocks after a few thousand hits.
Of course, I don't need thousands of icons in my application, but the real-world issue is that the program locks up every few times it is started, which is a real drag for the customers!
I suppose the InputStream way would work, though it is not very elegant compared to loading the resource in the usual manner. I'll try it if there are no other suggestions.

Aggregator V.5 self paced learning not working

. I have 11 individual projects that I have combined into one aggregated file. When I run the aggregated file, the self-paced learning is not working correctly. Here is what I know:
Captivate 5, WIN 7, Chrome browser. Clients choice of Captivate version.
Client is not using a LMS
All 11 projects have the “self-paced learning” checked in the TOC.
I have published all 11 projects and they run fine. I can exit the browser while they are running and restart each project. The box displays, “Continue from where you stopped last time?” and I can either resume or start over.
For each of the 11 projects, here are some settings:
In >File>Publish settings>Project>Start end> Autoloader is checked
In >File>Publish settings>Project>Start end> Autoplay is checked
In >File>Publish> eLearning output=disabled
In >File>Publish>ActionScript Version=AS3
I have republished all individual projects, and also checking the “Force republish all the slides”.
Cleared the browser cache
All 11 individual projects (.swf and .html), the .js file as well as the aggregated file(s) (.swf and .html) are all located in the same folder on my hard drive. They are close to the top of the naming hierarchy.
Client wants to be able to use self-paced learning in the Aggregated files to allow the learner to resume where they left off as well as starting over. I start the aggregated file, let the slides run for a bit and then stop, exiting the browser. I return to the location on my hard drive and click the .html file name. I am returned to the aggregated file at the very beginning and not given the option to start where I left off. I have checked each of the projects persistanceInfo.sol. Among the oddball characters, the wording "don'task" appears, but I am not sure if some of the characters are indicative of the "Don't ask" box being checked or not. I have reviewed each of the projects in the aggregated file. On each and every occasion, when I close and reclick the link, I am presented with the dialog box asking if I want to continue where I left off. Clicking ok allows the project to resume where I left off. Clicking cancel restarts the project at the beginning.
Additionally, I have made sure that the target file location is listed on the Global Flash Security settings as a trusted location.I have uploaded the files to a web server on our company site. Running the file from there provides no additional benefit-I get the same results.

All slides in the presentation are marked as continue. I have gone
through the first 5 slides and when I refresh the browser or exit out of
Internet Explorer and open the project again it just starts at the
beginning.

You have to be aware of the fact that a slide will be marked as 'viewed'
only when the playbar has played the whole slide till the end. If you do
pause slides with a click box, button, TEB and attach the action 'Go to
Next slide' or something similar instead of the default action 'Continue'
this will not happen and the slide will not be marked as completed.

If employees are attempting to add a device that supports a native supplicant, recommend that they use that instead. That registration process will overwrite the original registration and switch ownership to the new user.
If the device is a MAC Authentication Bypass (MAB) device, such as a printer, then you must resolve ownership of the device, and if appropriate, remove the device from the endpoints database so that the new owner can successfully add the device.

Extract function not working with tag attributes

Hi all,
I have an xml document stored in the db as an xmlType. I am trying to use the extract function to retrieve values. The extract will work fine on tags without attributes. Any tags with attributes or tags beyond the tags with attributes will not be accessible.
<tag1>
<tag2>hi</tag2>
<tag3 att="hello">bye</tag3>
<tag4> hi again </tag4>
</tag1>
In the example above I can extract tag2 values but not tag3 or tag4 values.
here is my select statement
works
select e.xmlval.extract('/tag1/tag2').getStringval()
from test_xml e;
does not work
select e.xmlval.extract('/tag1/tag2/tag3').getStringval()

Any ideas?

Hi all,
Found the issue. The problem was that I was not specifying the second argument to the extract function.
The tag attribute that I was not handling was xmlns="".
I used this atttribute as the second argument in the extract function and now I am off and running.

Search of Personal Onlive Archive Not Working in Outlook or OWA

Whenever I try to search messages content contained in the archive mailbox from Outlook 2010 or OWA 2010, there are zero matches found even when I search for a keyword that I can see in the subject of a message in the archive.
Searching for messages works fine when searching the primary mailbox, but not the Personal Archive Mailbox.
We just enabled Archive mailboxes last week, so this the first time I tried searching and it may have never worked.
What would prevent searching of archive mailboxes from returning any results even when you are sure your are searching for text that is contained in messages in the archive mailbox?

Its not that its not available in Sp2, its that there are some improvements that I saw once Sp3 was installed.
You could always open a case with Microsoft support, though I suspect they would suggest upgrading to Sp3 first.
Note that SP2 is no longer supported after 4/8/2014
I assume that you have rebuilt the search indexes and gone through the usual troubleshooting already.

It would the index of the database itself. If you haven't done this already, you can stop the indexing service, delete the index files themselves on disk ( same dir as the database itself) then restart the index service to rebuild the index and
recrawl.

I found a blog with more detailed instructions on how to delete the catalog. So, I deleted it and, an hour or so later, the search of the archive mailbox works in OWA. It is a small database with only a few test pilot users. I assume rebuilding
the index will take longer when we deploy it to everyone.

Iweb archive not working online

I've had church website up and running for a year. Every week I upload a new sermon between 25-30mgs. There are about 52 by now. This time when I went to the site online I noticed the Archive page was is working even though it's working in the program. When you click on the subject nothing happens. Also the "previous" button and other buttons at the bottom are not working either. When I opened the iweb file now the archive button is green. Any suggestions?

Thank you for replying. I had a box with a rule around most of the content on the page. I tried selecting it and sending it into the background. This seemed to be the problem and the archive page is working online for the moment. But in iweb the "archive" icon is still green. What does this mean. Extract is not working

Hi, the feature "extract" and "cut" is not working on the phone version for android. when i select an area of a pic and click extract, nothing happens. normally it erases the surrounding area of the selected area. I would like to report this bug to the adobe android team.
I am using a Google Nexus 4.
EDIT : I have attached pictures to make it easier to understand what I'm talking about.
In the first pic you can see how I've selected the area around the weight scale.
Ine the second pic I am showing the 'modify menu'. Pretty much most of the options within it DO NOT work.
Extract, clear, cut do not work.

Could you please double-check if you accidentally deselected the image while accessing the Extract-Menu. This can happen when you touch inside a selection. In addition please do you have the correct layer selected?
Could you please post a screenshot with the result you're seeing after the "Extract"?

when i was done editing and cutting a song i dragged from itunes i wanted to save it compacted. i have done it before but now it won't let me click the boxes. it's just grey and seems disabled.

tried what they said[adding a blue loop], yet it did not work for me.

Check GarageBand by making another project and trying to compact that. If that works then GarageBand is probably ok and the problem lies somewhere in your project. If all else fails and GarageBand seems to be fine (other than with this one project) you can go into the package and get your audio recording out and add it to a new GarageBand project, then compact the new one. The way to get into the GarageBand project is to locate the original song file, then control click on project and "show package contents" Look for your recording in the media folder.

Final Cut Pro X - Create Archive not working with Yosemite!

Just upgraded my laptop to Yosemite and now I can't create any camera archives. I am not sure if it is my laptop or Yosemite that is causing the issue. I tried creating a camera archive with the same SD card on another machine (running Mavericks) and it worked fine. Anyone else having similar issues?

Oddly, still no luck. i was hoping to find something in the logs but FCPX keeps pretty quiet. My goal was to see if this feature was broken but since it is working for others, I will close this question.
