Self Launch Flash App on Reboot

I've been developing a Flash application that will be running on a touch screen monitor installed in a hospital. The touch screen is run by a Windows machine. I'm afraid I don't know much about the Windows world. I'd like to have my Flash application launch in Flash Player every time the cpu is rebooted so the client never has to worry about manually doing it. Could someone give me some pointers? I guess I start out by publishing a Windows Projector (.exe) file?

I use the next window software on the touchscreens and overlays that i develop for:

and they have a nice config panel that you can go in to the USB config and turn the delay off of the right click which disables it completely. I use IE for kiosk mode on about 90% of my applications by simply putting the following in start -> run:
iexplore -k file path
I have found that IE works great for XP and Opera's kiosk mode works decent for vista (as long as it is Opera9)
i have our IT guy write the batch files but he says it is pretty easy, i just havent had to create one.
hopefully this helped and made sense.

    I have also tried the fixes offered in this forum such as using the "Other" mail in setting up the gmail accounts, and not using the dedicated gmail setting.  I also went to google and signed in and enable the additional devices.  I had the same problems with the original account I set up for gmail, but it corrected when i went to using the "Other" instead of the Gmail button.  I was able to set up the new gmail accounts on my iphone without problem and on my husband's ipad1 for his gmail account.  Just the ipad 2 is giving me problems.   Again, thanks for any suggestions.

  • Flash Builder doesn't launch my app nor debugger

    Hi, very odd.
    Flash Builder all of a sudden stopped launching my app or the debugger.
    When I press run Flash Builder switches to my browser (Firefox 3.x) then nothing.
    Doesn't open a new tab, no error messages, nothing.
    Exact same thing when I try to debug, except I get an error saying it failed to connect, session timed out.
    It also says to make sure it was compiled with debugger on (huh?) and that I'm running a debugger version of Flash which I am.
    Not sure what to do now. There is no real error message, and no odd behavior other than it just not doing anything.
    Any idea?

    After I hit run the URL that is shown on Firefox is the last page that I was on, so in this case, 'this' pages url; therefore, has nothing to do with what I'm trying to run. So in this case it would be "http://forums.adobe.com/post!reply.jspa?message=3625965"
    Now as for which version:
    Flash Player version: MAC 10,2,153,1 debugger version
    Mac OS: 10.6.7
    Update: Alright, it seems to have been some Firefox bug. I upgraded to Firefox 4.x on a haunch and somehow it must of reset whatever that was causing the problem and it now works as nornal. Thanks for the help though, appreciated.

  • ATSServer locks up on launching java apps/flash content

    Suddenly, every time I try to launch an app that's java-based, or one that uses flash (such as the Shorter Oxford English Dictionary), or any of my browsers load a webpage with flash content, I get the following console hangup:
    com.apple.ATSServer[670] ATSServer got a fatal error (status: -4) while processing a message (id: 22) from pid=nnnn.
    com.apple.launchd[139] (com.apple.ATSServer) Throttling respawn: Will start in 10 seconds
    I have done the following that might have been proximate causes:
    cleared duplicate fonts
    removed dodgy fonts
    cleared font cache
    uninstalled MS Office 2008
    deleted fonts that the MS Office uninstaller helpfully doesn't delete
    but the problem persists. This all seemed to start after either the latest java update, or the latest MS Office 2008 update, but may be nothing to do with either. At least I can access my online banking if I use FlashBlock in firefox, but since this doesn't seem to be a font issue, can someone suggest where to go next with this?

    Well, actually it's still not working properly, although I've got my dictionary working again - I'm getting a couple of console errors persecond while it's running - and if flash is enable in browsers, it still drops the bomb occasionally. I'll follow this up with Adobe, since it's clearly a flash issue.

  • Acrobat 9.3.4 no longer finds bookmarked non-PDF files (and then launches assoc app)

    I produce a documentation DVD consisting of a one-page PDF file of ~ 1400 bookmarks and a lot of content.  The bookmarks point to the content on the DVD which includes pdf files as well as text, DOC, XLS, and other misc. file types, and a large number of html, swf, flv, .jpg, etc. files which make up 4 complete web sites.  The web sites are entirely contained on the DVD (no extermal internet access is referenced or required)
    Content is accessed by clicking a bookmark which simply opens the file (regardless of type.)  Prior to Acrobat 9.3.4, appropriate warnings popped up for non-PDF files but if allowed by the user, the appropriate app was launched for the requested file.
    Since applying 9.3.4, a "Launch File" warning box pops up showing the file name (which lacks a device) and when the warning's "Open" button is pressed, a Windows error appears with the message "Windows cannot find 'file.txt'.  Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again.  To search for a file....  ", and finally an Adobe Acrobat information box pops up and says "Could not open the file 'path/file.txt'  ".
    I have read and re-read about launching external apps, restricted urls and attachments, trust manager preferences, etc. etc.  I've added the files to the privileged locations list under the enhanced security settings and on and on.  It no longer works, yet I tested this DVD on several computers just last week and it worked fine. So, as a shot in the dark, I decided to fire up my laptop and test it there again.
    Once on, the laptop immediately wanted to update about 12,000 software products but I politely said "No, wait until i test this out!"  The test was successful and the DVD's pdf file worked great again!  At that point I let the machine apply the Acrobat 9.3.4 update (and some uncountable number of Windows patches and fixes.)  It's running a current version of Win7.  After the reboot, i tried the DVD again (under Acrobat 9.3.4) and it failed as described above.  Because of Win7 I was able to revert to acrobat 9.3.2 using System Restore.  After doing that, the DVD worked again.
    Most of our user's machines are either Macs or WinXP (current versions) and i haven't had time to figure out if you can even recover from this update under those OS's.  (It says you cannot remove it from XP, however.)  Regardless, even if i can do it for my laptop and get it working again, i cannot do it for all of our users.
    So, my question is if i am not doing something wrong, how do i let someone at Adobe know this release is broken??  If i am doing something wrong on the other hand, what is it and how do i get this to work again??

  • Impossible to launch Flash CC 2014 - and worst CC experience ever

    Let me explain the process here :
    I launched Flash CC (not 2014), which I haven't launched since a long time. Then I opened a new AS3 document. And tried to use the brush tool. I selected a brush size. And then it crashed. Yes only that...
    Adobe displays a message after crashing saying that they have a solution for this problem of crashing. Cool I think ! I click on the link, but arrive on the new creative cloud 2014 apps.A bit disappointing, but I think that the problem is resolved with Flash CC 2014.
    So I download Flash CC 2014. And launch it. And it crashes.... Ok maybe it is a bad install. I restart the computer.
    But then Creative Cloud asks to install the new CC Desktop app. F***. It begins to be a bit long to just use Flash !!... (Ok, I can use Flash at this point, but I need to synchronize my files, so I need CC desktop app. Anyway, I don't understand why I should download the latest version as the version I use works great : synchs my file, install fonts, and install softwares, which is the basics I need from Creative Cloud)
    Ok I start to reinstall CC Desktop. But it fails !!! Yes F******** !! Error 43. "contact the consumer service". Ok I click. And I arrive on the Creative Cloud Help. BUT WHERE IS THE MESSAGE FIELD I NEED TO SPEAK TO ADOBE ???? OR THE TEL NUMBER OR WHATEVER ??? Where is the consumer service ??? Nothing ! I have to search inside all these forum links and help and find the good link to contact Adobe. WHAT A MESS ! But Adobe is not available. We are friday. I have to wait until monday. But I CAN'T !!!
    Yes. Let's calm down a bit. I uninstall CC app. Restart. Redownload CC desktop app. Ok, but where is it on the Adobe website ?????? There are all apps visible everywhere (photoshop, illustrator...) but NO CC desktop APP !! I end up finding it somewhere (i don't remember where), and reinstall it. IT WOOORKS !! youhou. I notice that this new version doesn't do much more than the previous one : synchs files, install fonts, and install softwares. Oh, ok, I can go to the marketplace ! Ok, but, is it an essential feature ? I don't think so... I could have lived with the previous version and save some useful time !...
    Ok but but but but.... CC app redownloads ALL my creative cloud files (3 GO) although my folder is already there in my computer, all at the latest updates !! Nevermind... I'll wait. It is already 1 hour I'm fighting with Adobe. So I can go on wasting my time with PLEASURE !!
    Ok. Pfiou. Maybe Flash is working now ? Why ? Why not ? But no... Still not working... But there is a message from adobe saying they have a solution for this specific bug. Ok I click on the link. I arrive on "adobe.com". What a joke it is...
    So I need a solution, please. How can I do to make Flash CC and Flash CC 2014 work on my MacbookPro 2010, with Mavericks 10.9.3 ?

    These steps are to describe how BAD the experience is with Creative Cloud at this moment, especially for the support feature. Please make it better. Really better !
    And please resolve my problem with Flash CC 2014, which is the first aim of this post. It seems like there are a lot of cool features I don't need but would be pleased to test. The best would be to be able to open the software of course...

  • IE 11 not launching in app mode

    IE 11 will not launch in app mode, it only will launch in desktop mode. I have read the other posts and my issue is different. There are no other browsers on my machine than IE 11. In the control panel, in internet options, I set internet explorer
    to the default setting for all programs. I then unpin IE from the metro start and repin it to the start. Same damn result happens every single time, it will launch in desktop mode. I've rebooted, deleted cache temp files, cleaned registry...nothing changes
    the result.
    Here is the kicker, two days ago it worked for 5 minutes! There are no other software on this machine, it is a brand new Lenovo Yoga 11s. What is up with this browser not running in app mode?

  • Captivate 6 does not launch - flashes briefly then disappears

    I just installed the subscription version of Captiavte 6. When I try to launch the app, the screen briefly flashes for a second or two, and then disappears. The app itself does not launch.
    I am on Windows 7, 64 bit. I have a prior version of Captiavte 5.5 (which for various reasons I have not uninstalled yet). Help!

    You can have any number of Captivate major versions installed on your PC and they don't usually interfere with one another.  (I happen to have versions 3, 4, 5.0, 5.5, 6.1 on my laptop.)
    Are you launching Cp6 using Run As Administrator?
    If you had previously installed a trial version of Cp6, did you delete the Preferences folder before upgrading or installing 6.1?  If not, then do so.
    Sometimes Captivate crashes due to corrupted fonts.  The usual debug process is to go to your Windows > Fonts folder and cut/paste all non-default fonts out to another folder so that you can check if this is in fact the issue.  If Captivate then launches successfully, you start re-installing fonts until you find the one/s responsible for the crash.

  • ITunes Self-Launches?

    ITunes (v. 9.03) has the annoying habit of self-launching on my IMac. Seems to happen no matter what other apps are open at the time - usually just a browser (Safari, Firefox or Chrome) and Pages. Will happen consecutively for four or five times, then stop; then, maybe days later, happen again. Any thoughts?

  • IMac 24" C2D and Rosetta Not Launching PPC Apps

    This problem seems only to affect a few iMac 24" owners, but it is extremely annoying just the same. My iMac24 C2D 2.33, after some, yet undetermined time (sometimes after logging out, sometimes sleep), will fail to launch PPC applications with Rosetta.
    The only workaround found so far (actually from this discussion list) is to force quit the root process "translated" in Activity Monitor, then log out and back in (sometimes PPC apps will launch without logging out, but not usually). And sometimes, one must force quit "WindowServer" the same way, which forces a logout, to get these PPC applications to launch on logging in (rebooting seems to resolve the issue too). BTW, these include small PPC applications, not necessarily just RAM hungry Adobe or MS apps. I have switched as many sharewares and applications to Universal as possible, but there are still a few useful PPC ones needed. The PPC apps run smoothly whenever Rosetta decides to launch them.
    Any permanent solution would be greatly appreciated.

    APE, see <http://www.unsanity.com/haxies/ape>. It's a third-party "application enhancer" installed in your System Preferences to run certain sharewares. I've had email exchange with Unsanity about this (they were very responsive); sadly the only workaround for me was to temporarily disable APE. The "optimizer" button worked sometimes, other times not. If you don't have APE installed, you've got other problems. Sorry.

  • Certain apps are repeatedly launching the App Store

    Starting a couple of days ago, I have been having an issue with strange behavior in three gay dating apps: Grindr, Jack'd and Scruff. It happened initially in Grindr and then seemed to spread to Jack'd and Scruff.
    I am using an iPad 2 with the latest iOS update. My iPad has never been jail broken and I've only ever installed apps from the App Store.
    The behavior sometimes occurs as soon as I open the app and other times I can open it and use the app for a couple of minutes before the behavior happens.
    The unwanted behavior is that the App Store is launched, prompting me to download one of the following 7 games:
    - Midnight Castle - A Hidden Object Game by Big Fish Games
    - Evolution: Battle for Utopia by my.com
    - Farmville 2: Country Escape by Zynga
    - Jungle Heat by my.com
    - Cookie Jam by SGN
    - Fairway Solitaire HD by Big Fish Games
    - King's Empire (Deluxe)
    When this happens, I close the App Store and switch back to the app (e.g., Grindr), but as soon as I switch back I am redirected to the App Store for one of the above 7 games in an endless loop. This renders the app unusable.
    I have seen some other posts saying this behavior might be related to scripts in banner ads in the apps, but the three apps affected have different banner ads and it is always the same 7 game apps that I'm redirected to.
    Does anyone have any ideas what is going on here and how to stop it? I've tried closing and reopening the apps and rebooting the iPad, but this did not have an effect. I stopped using the apps for a couple of days and when I tried again today they were working fine for about an hour or so and then the behavior started again.

    Skydiver119 and pjl123, thanks for taking the time to respond, but I really suspect something else may be going on here.
    If it was just one app with this behavior, then I would say it's a bad app and stop using it. However, when it starts with three different apps all on the same day, that`s too much coincidence for me. Even if an app developer were somehow in collusion to do something nefarious, it would just be stupid to render the app unusable. That's shooting yourself in the foot.
    I know that Apple claims that iOS devices can't get viruses, but this sure feels like a virus to me. It seems to be some kind of "click fraud" (game developers paying someone for number of referrals). I have no idea how the hackers are doing this, but it feels like something running outside the apps that is hijacking them.

    Hey guys, I was asked by the AdobeCare Twitter Account to post my issue in this forum, so here I am:
    I recently subscribed to a Adobe CC membership and everything worked fine when I had the CS6.
    Now since the CC Versions were released, I wanted to update of course. So I did.
    Since then I am constantly haveing the same issue: I can not launch an app without having to do so many steps!
    Here is what I have to do in order to open up any app (I have to do this EVERY time I launch an app..meaning when I open PS I do this, when I open ID I do this etc)
    1) I click on the icon of the app (in this example PS)
    2) I get the following "error":
    (it is asking me to renew my subscription)
    3) I click on "try again" and I get this message:
    (it says "Thank you, your subscription for CC is now activated")
    4) I click on "Continue" and get this message (again):
    So I click on "Do you have another Adobe-ID?" and get to see this window:
    ... where I type in my Password and click on "Sign in" resulting in this:
    and finally after clicking on "accept" in this:
    ...which basically is the same windows I get to see right at the beginning.
    At this point I want to mention again that I have to do this  e v e r y t i m e  I start an app, for each app I have to run through all of these steps and if I close an app by accident and re-open it, I have to do this again.
    I already tried to delete that file in the OOBE folder, did not work out.
    Also, I am lacking all the presets in Premiere Pro (Digital DSLR etc) which makes me think, that all of my apps are running in trial mode..? At least I had this issue, when I launched Premiere as a trial in the past.
    Don't get me wrong..But this is totally annoying and kills my workflow.
    Any help? I would greatly appreciate it!

    On the device that you don't want the apps to be downloaded on, go to Settings > iTunes &amp; App Stores > Automatic Downloads. Once you turn that off, your problem will be fixed.

  • Launch flash builder from flash cs5 don't work

    I have a trial version of flash builder (eclipse plug-in) and registered flash cs5 pro

    at first it did asked if I want to edit the file in flash builder or not, and it didnt work.

    but it is installed!

    I gave this a shot, using CS5, and when I started a new AS3 file I got the appropriate prompt asking me which application should edit my file...
    Flash Pro
    Flash Builder
    When I chose Flash Builder, (which I had already running), it opened the new AS3 file there with no problems. Interestingly, when I closed FB, and with Flash Pro created a new AS3 class, I wasn't prompted (and the AS file opened in Flash Pro) - so it does require that FB be running, or else Flash Pro will be the default editor.
    For the issue of Flash no longer prompting you "Who" will open a new file, you can change that here:
    Edit > Preferences > ActionScript > Several items down is the Class editor. Change that to Flash Builder
    If you still have problems...Are you able to successfully launch Flash Builder 4 by itself? Or has the trial expired?
